Have to give a hats off to Justin and Christina for being able to do such a great job after the flood. The scores were very good they had like 9 300 games during the league season and 4 or 5 800’s. Great Job guys.

Comment Date: 6/13/2008 Name: Bill
Came here for open bowl it is a retro style bowling center, but the service was great. We had a great time. The price was very reasonable as well.

This Is a great place to bowl.. New owners that know alot about the game of bowling.. THe owners are there all the time. So when you come in you will see the on owners and not employees working!! Way to go Centralia bowl. Keep up the hard work it will pay off..

Comment Date: 10/7/2007 Name: Cent parent
New owners are young couple & are making changes–leagues, fixed/maintained lanes, new machines, & electronic scoring. Bringing kids back to bowling w/ bumpers. Drove past for years, but now stop in. Thumbs up.

Comment Date: 3/8/2007 Name: MPB
Some of those comments are right, it being in a bad part of town, however, bowling is in your blood, and you will be able to turn it all around and show those other people where they can go and you can do it with your finger stickin up in the air!

Good luck guys!!! Sounds like you are going to need a lot of help according to the comments here.

This house has a new owner and i see great things in the future for this house.

Comment Date: 5/11/2006 Name: bowler
I am not mistaking this is a Brunswick House with A2’s. Therefore AMF pindication is not in this place you retard.

Comment Date: 4/16/2006 Name: RH
It has some drawbacks: lanes are in bad condition, the staff could be kinder, and it is located in what is becoming a “bad” portion of town (if there is such a thing in Centralia). On the plus side manual scoring (from my point of view – got a chance to teach the kids the math behind calculating a bowling score)and working AMF “magic triangle” pin indicators (yea, most of you will not know what I’m talking about). Also had plain paper projectors of league play. I get a kick out of old lanes and especially the smaller ones (this one is eight lanes). It is nice to get a chance to play these type of lanes in some smaller towns before they disappear. If new is your interest, steer away.

Comment Date: 1/30/2006 Name: Nick
Listen, I have seen tons of bowling alleys and this place s*cks!!!! Besides the fact that it is dirty, smokey, smells bad, has terrible lanes, no oil, terrible and cramped up atmosphere and the people working are jerks, this place is great.

Comment Date: 3/28/2005 Name: Justin
On a scale of 1-10 10 being the highest this bowling alley rates a 1. Its very cramped lanes are in bad shape and the staff are very rude.

Hazel Dell Lanes Comments
Comment Date: 3/10/2008 Name: David Atkinson
I took my son and his friend for their first bowling experience to Hazel Dell Lanes this last weekend. The leagues were playing when we first got there, so we went and played some billiards to kill an hour till 9:30. The music at the billiards place was foul and offensive, and it was a nice change to go to the lanes where the music was much more kid friendly. We had a technical problem with the lane, where the light ball my son was using wouldn’t always reset the scoring device and align the pins. We pressed the service button on the computerized console and had help in less than a minute. The staff was very friendly and helpful and showed him how to press the resetbutton on the ball return to get the lane to reset. Overall, I’d give them a 9 out of 10, with the only drawback being not having a few lanes available during league play. There is another bowling alley in Vancouver that has open play earlier, but the music and videos they play are so pornigraphically offensive my kids won’t even consider going there.

I had the pleasure of taking my girlfriend bowling at your establishment. We had such a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly. the atmosphere had a warm friendly family feel to it.I bowled my best game ever. my girlfriend was very impressed! Thank you! Unfortunately after waiting patiently for drinks in the lounge, I decided to go to the bar and order. I think maybe I must have had B.O. the bartender found it more pleasurable to to talk to a coworker than to serve me. After being ignored for at least 10 min.s I asked her if I had been cut off. She said she didn’t like my obnoxious attitude and refused to serve me. I was extremely embarrassed in front of my new girlfriend and we quickly left.I know customer service is not what it used to be, and I am getting used to the fact that people are less than friendly sometimes, but that was really uncalled for. I went back to complain the next day, and was told that that this girl apparently has had quite a few similar complaints over the last 15 years she has been working there. My girlfriend and I are still seeing each other, so I guess I will eventually get over it.

My wife and I just moved here from West Virginia and we we delighted to find a very similar Bowling alley right next to our house very similar to the one we frequented in our home town. The lanes were very friendly! the bar was quite the opposite. we have never experienced such poor service and bad attitude. aparrently we have to beg for service. The kareoke guy was fantastic though! Just for the record the bartenders name was ANGIE. I hope the new owner is smart enough to correct the problem.

This place is great, not so much now since Bruno bought this house, because when the Bittners, by far the best bowling operators around, bought this house, the scores skyrocketed! Still, even with Bruno, they put a nice house shot out. Good job, Bruno!!!

It is funny to me that reading over these comments, the place was a dump and then some new owners bought it. For like a year there was good comments, staff was great, and the manager knew what he was doing. The skate people did too. Then all of a sudden, it changed back? I can guess the manager who knew what was what left?

Comment Date: 11/28/2008 Name: Lala
I’m trying to figure out if skating 2night costs more than usual? Because people are saying it’s gunna cost more because it’s open till 2 A.M.?

Comment Date: 8/8/2008 Name: New Robin Hood Bowler
Bad shot! Bad lanes! Was recently told that I could not buy a game but had to buy a full hour!?! The GM didn’t know how to answer a question about manual scoring – how’d he get his job!?! The deskperson didn’t know what deadwood was! This place has gone to hell! Was much better last few years, bowl at Robin Hood or Majestic!

Comment Date: 7/23/2008 Name: 20YearBowler
The owners wanted to demolish. The GM doesn’t even like bowling. They serve underage kids who trash the place. Employees don’t know the sport. What the hell is going on??

Comment Date: 7/23/2008 Name: A
This place has a dumba** of a Manager now that does not know anything about bowling!! After so many problems with their machines they should at least hire someone that cares about bowling!! BOO!!

Comment Date: 10/14/2007 Name: A
That is the new owners intent, BUT do to that citys zoning laws it wont happen (the condos).

Comment Date: 8/28/2007 Name: Anonymous
I understand that the recently sold center was bought by a developer and what you now bowl on will be Condo’s
Thanks for taking my center that I grew up in … 🙁

Comment Date: 6/27/2007 Name: Jose Denaryo
What a difference. If you haven’t been in recently, I would recommend going. The place looks great. The shot is so much cleaner, and I hear that things are really picking up. The employee’s seem to know what there doing now.

Comment Date: 4/29/2007 Name: A
Place has gone downhill since the start of the season. Shot was way inconsistant. We thought it was getting better thru the midseason then went back to the extremes. Employees dont know jack about bowling, machines run like crap. I know they are longtime losing leagues because of the faults listed above.

Comment Date: 4/17/2007 Name: Bridget
Way over priced! You would think they may discount prices late a night when there were only a couple lanes in use! Used to bowl at Sunset and this place cannot hold a candle to it. Questionable patrons and people hanging around. Must be Lynnhood.

Comment Date: 12/30/2006 Name: A
Roger went on to by his own center in the midwest and is no longer at Lynnwood..
Update: Lane conditions are much better since Kegal came in and fixed lane machine. Owners and employees would have saved themselves some guff and headaches if this problem was dealt with sooner. Nice to see a playable shot back, thats what counts.

Comment Date: 12/20/2006 Name: chris guidry
I used to get my equipment drilled by roger there, before i moved to montana talk about an awesome pro shop. He explains everything so you can understand.. no med. terms definately take the time to travel to lynnwood to get equipment. Great guy always havin fun

Comment Date: 12/12/2006 Name: A
Shot needs to be improved. I’m not expecting the ultra highscoring “ditch” that was there in the past, but the shot needs to be opened up, too much OB. Machines still have too many break downs.
Many league bowlers are thinking of moving houses, am hoping stuff improves because I want the place to thrive. – a current league bowler

We’ve taken in some of our customer’s advice. Our Grand Re-Opening is going on right now for the 9/15/06-9/17/06. $0.50 for bowling, skating, food, and drinks. Though limited on availibilty, we will do our best to accommodate everybody. Come on in and see how NEW this place looks.

Being from the area of this bowling center glad to see it sticking around. Being as leilani lanes was my favorite place to bowl and is gone now, left a viod in my preferred oasis of bowling paradise!
Couple suggestions though on center. Dont changes wood lanes and consider running some kind afternoon bowling rates. Also consdier running bowling special at times when it slower. I dont need tell anyone that there times when only couple lanes are being used, maybe try creating trend to offer bowling for those on budget!

Is there a website to the brunswick alley?

Comment Date: 4/11/2006 Name: Matt
A dollar per game on the weekdays is a hard deal to pass up. Also, Sunday is relatively cheap with plenty of open bowling compared to other alleys in the area. The lanes are somewhat damaged and my ball has been returned to me with some interesting markings (but nothing damaging), yet I love bowling on the wood lanes. As an added bonus, the bartenders know how to pour a nice stiff drink.

Comment Date: 3/29/2006 Name: A
Good league shot, good staff. Place has a lot of flaws from neglect from previous owners. Place could use a new scoring system and could use new lanes. New owners have promised to fix scoring, and to resurface(sand) the lanes and up grade pinsetters this summer, if they follow through with it will be a good start. It has a good customer base.

Comment Date: 2/3/2005 Name: Anonymous
Lynnwood Lanes has both wood approaches and wood lanes. The approaches are good, but the lanes are somewhat beat up & dimpled. Its a very quirky place, right out of 1968. Friendly staff, though. I had a new ball drilled at the pro-shop and got great service and a really good price. I would reccommend the pro shop over any others in the area. For bowling, its a nice place for a few quick games, a fun night out or a birthday party but I don’t think it would be ideal for any kind of league action.

Now called Big Daddys! I love this place I bowl on the Thursday night league. I love going on other nights too. It’s very clean and the staff is very down to earth but still very professional. They never let you wait the bowl staff is always on top of things (calling for your ball and 180s) before you even can get to realize there’s something wrong. And on busy nights there seem to be staff everywhere even if they’re just bowling they’re always coming over and helping you out by clearing run away pins. I love this place.

I noticed it’s been a while since the last comment, but things have definitely changed. On our visit to this place it is very run down. And having to do it “Old School” wasn’t so bad, but it doesn’t seem like anything has been maintained. The staff didnt even give us a score sheet and complained because we used a coupon. I think it has 6 lanes, but only 5 working. We laughed at how our lane leaned to the left…not sure what was up with that. With some maintenance and care it could be a fun adventure, but we won’t be back anytime soon.

I stopped in this place to check it out on a Sat nite when I was up in area working. Reminded me of the old neighborhood bowls in Tacoma and Seattle like 6th Ave. Lanes, and Greenwood Bowl. Nothing wrong with “used synthetics” either. Pacific Lanes in Tacoma bought all of the “used synthetics and Brunswick scoring when New Frontier in Tacoma closed (Thanks Don Freund!)
Pacific is doing good and it takes owners and staff to make a place good! Give the current owners at Snoqualmie credit for trying to make it better and make a go of it! And the pizza was good too!

This is a fine place, I love the old time feel. Great for casual bowling, I do not bowl often and on occasion go there with my son and his freinds for a hr or so. Friendly service, and we can bowl on a Sat night when every place else is booked up with leagues.

No, not the onwer just an old fart whose been bowling there for over 16 years. You’re right, it’s cramped, but the small atmosphere is why I love it. I’ll be sure to let the owners know about this website though and maybe will respond. They’re nice people and I’ve seen this place go through 4 owners in 6 years, and they are the only ones to make the place better and keep it alive for that matter.

Tom Barnes: I dont work for ANY center currently and havent for years. I know they got their “used synthetics” from the now defunct Leilani Lanes. There is nothing wrong with “used synthetics” and I know the ones they got from Leilani are in very good shape. I also know that owners at Adventure are looking for auto scoring which would be a huge plus. When I visted the place it was still a dive but I’ll give the new owners the benefiet of the doubt since they are trying to improve the place. Tom you must be the owner or somehow connected huh? A little testy?!?!

This summer we had a birthday party for our 7 year old son here. They had a birthday package that included pizza…which by the way was wonderful pizza! It also made it really easy on me because I was really stressed out about having this party. We had just moved and were trying to plan it last minute. The kids got little goodie bags and had a blast bowling. The package also included the party plates and balloons. We go after school sometimes on short days to kill time.

A, who do you work for? Only those in the bowling business would comment on “quality used synthetics”…or even know that they bought them used…or know that ACME Bowl in Tukwila has GSX pinsetters. Are you paid to write negative comments about other bowling alleys, or just think it might help your center???? We’re not stupid. Oh, and by the way, the crotchety old man hasn’t been there in a while. Now there’s a girl there every day.

I agree! The only difference with the above ground ball return is that the bowler can see the ball. It’s funny that anyone would complain about that. Machines are running great this year. A few years ago I would beg to differ, but new management has been working hard and we don’t see the problems there were before with the other owners. League bowlers get a good discount too.

We love this place! And, the people who say this place is way overpriced need to go visit the other bowling alleys on the Eastside. Check Sun Villa or Tech City…the prices are much higher there. I’m in real estate and know that the owners can’t help that…if you want them to stick around. A new center in the area would probably charge $6 a game and double for shoes, so watch what you wish for. You’ll love the old feel unless you’re a trendy snob and need everything new. I would hate to see the above ground ball returns go too! Besides, what difference does it make?

Way Overpriced for the age and condition of the center/alley. They did get quality used synethic lanes in which is a plus, but machines run like crap, no autoscoring, aboveground ball returns, its a cramped little dive. With the housing boom around the area someone needs to open a nice new 16 laner and put this place out of business.

I used to bowl there when I was 12-13 years old, this was back in the late 60’s! Back then you had to contend with bikers and the like, NO pizza, but I grew to love the old fashioned atmosphere anyway, sorry to hear that they are ‘updating’ it, I do hope they will at least keep the ball returns the way they are!

We went to this “adventure” bowling center, and this crotchety old man was behind the counter… mean – total rip off. The bowling alley has this cute vintage flair, but it gets lost in the scam of the overpriced lanes and old yucky bathrooms. The only reason it has a “family” vibe is the fact that they serve pizza. Aparently, the people that own the pizza place do not own the bowling alley. So, it’s a hassle to buy pizza and bowl. Yuck. Do not go there… the charm is lost in the first 5 minutes

Quaint little house with 8 lanes. Nostalgic with above the lane ball returns. Non-smoking establishment with an onsite pizza parlor. Geared to the family I guess because it’s $4 a game for adults and $2 for kids though to me that seems quite unfair. Because the housing has boomed in the surrounding area it may be wise to check ahead for available lanes. This place can be packed.

Nice little bowling center by the Snoqualmie Falls. Excellent pizza…the best I’ve ever had! I go there about 2 times a year when I visit family, and we always have a great time. It is a bit outdated, but I just recently found out that the new owners are putting in new synthetic lanes and bumpers, as well as updating the look and putting in a lounge. Even so, it is a fun environment.
