Swagga on deck bowling USA so swagged out! Went there bowled a 98 wit my ole lady. It’s a cool place but too damn expensive for a luh dude.

Comment Date: 2/2/2012 Name: Anonymous
place is a dump, no lights in parking lot very dangerous, house shoes soles coming off houseball holes are cracked, bad service and needs painting and light work inside. would not send anyone there

Comment Date: 9/29/2011 Name: Annie
owner by default. School teacher + business sense = run down company

Comment Date: 9/23/2011 Name: Lil old me
This will explain it all…Owner lives in S. Carolina!

Comment Date: 9/5/2011 Name: FastHook
Railroaded ? Get real. This place has done a complete 180 since the management changed hands. The service is terrific and everyone has smiles on their faces. The comparison with Mandeville is spot on, night vs day. I do however wish that more money be allocated on further updates to an aging facility. But as far as the people go ? You cannot find a bunch of nicer folks than here. Don’t listen to the sour grapes comments from sorry-a** toadie followers of the former mngr. This place is great !

Comment Date: 8/19/2011 Name: Alissa
The former manager was railroaded…the owners had it in for her and wanted her gone from what I heard

Comment Date: 8/18/2011 Name: former patron
since management changed the place has definately gone downhill. No one cares, the new manager is a joke. Standings have not been right since management changed. Former manager was said to have stolen money, but all money was always paid to the league bowlers in full, awards were given out to the bowlers promptly and bowlers were asked to join a league. New manager could care less about the bowlers. I will never bowl there again unless ownership changes.

Comment Date: 7/8/2011 Name: former customer
For the last comment. Everything said is true. It is an old outdated center. They try to keep old & dated working unfortunately management thinks if the place looks clean they can take your money. No real money is spent to make it a modern entity. Unfortunately the owners must think that rustic and old is the new way to go

Comment Date: 7/7/2011 Name: out of towner; now scared out of towner
I’m from out of town and will be bowling at Bowling USA in Slidell today. After reading most of these reviews, I’m think that I should find a golf course instead. But I will give the this place a try before condemning it. If my service is as bad as most of you say, I will surely inform the management there of their reputation.

Comment Date: 6/2/2011 Name: Munson
I bowled there once in the afternoon and liked it. If memory serves, the lanes were maintained and the place has an old school vibe to it. The pro shop looks good, and is even open during the day. (The shop was unlocked but had no employee when I checked it out.) The staff seemed to be friendly, and I would certainly go back. I prefer this center to Tiffany Lanes in Mandeville.

Comment Date: 5/10/2011 Name: Honky Dory
I have lived in Slidell for 5 years and am a current league bowler at Bowling USA. The former manager was a crook but is gone now. So is her little cronie. The service is very good now, much improved. The reason the former mngmt was always gruff and grumpy … was because they were constantly losing big $$$ at the casino.

Comment Date: 5/10/2011 Name: Roger
I bowl in two leagues at this place. I understand that the house does the awards and gives to the asociation. I asked my league secretaries about not getting anything & they told me to ask the house. They house does not know anything. I also know that there leagues that process their own stuff and they have been getting their awards. WHATS UP WITH THAT?

Comment Date: 4/27/2011 Name: league bowler
I like going hear even though it’s way out of my way my local bowling alley in mandeville always has problems so i don’t mind the drive staff, pro shop and lanes are always good to me…

Comment Date: 3/1/2011 Name: TB – Eden Isles
I have been to Bowling USU three times in the last month and all I can say is the employees are very friendly. The man in the pro shop actually went to the Mandeville pro shop to get the bowling ball I wanted and drilled it for me on the spot.

Comment Date: 1/24/2011 Name: Ronnie
What gives with the pro shop. I go in to buy a bowling ball and the only thing I can do is ORDER one. Hardly anything in stock. I can get them online easier and for less cost. This place is going down the tubes!!!

Comment Date: 1/24/2011 Name: Just a league bowler
Some things just never, ever change! When will they get someone (anyone) in there that can get the league stands right. Next year I will be bowling at Diamondhead.

Comment Date: 12/28/2010 Name: Tammy
I live in St. Bernard Parish and was undecided which bowling alley to take my son, and 3 others to for a day of fun. I took a vacation day to spend with them for the holidays. We decided on Bowling USA..boy was that a mistake. The lady behind the counter was downright rude, sharp and looked like somebody was holding her hostage there! We should have left, but decided to bowl since we were already there. I watched her from time to time while we bowled and she continued to complain to another young lady who worked there. Why would somebody want to be in a customer service position when they are so miserable. We definitely won’t be back and will never recommend this bowling alley to anyone else. We should have went to Kenner our other choice.

Comment Date: 11/7/2010 Name: The Belle of Slidell
I would say that the customer service at this place s*cks, but that would be implying that there was, in fact, at least some level of customer service. It is absolutely awful and I am very underwhelmed at the intellect level of the staff. At first I thought it was a racial issue, but then I realized that they are equal opportunity offenders. They all have a vacant, blank stare at the customers, like “what do you want…can’t you see I’m watching Hee-Haw?” Clearly, they can only get away with this broken down excuse for a bowling alley (the balls are limited, the lanes kept going completely down) because it is the ONLY one in town. Stop patronizing these people who clearly do not care. I am thinking of organizing a protest out front…that’s just how bad the service is. Girls just wanted to have fun, but we should have stayed home, saved $50, and performed root canals on each other instead of going to this trash heap.

Comment Date: 10/6/2010 Name: RANDY
OK,new management. Great! Now they need to get someone in there that knows how to do some simple…like greating the league standing sheets right! They have not been correct for three weeks. This is not rocket science or brain surgery.

Comment Date: 9/25/2010 Name: darin
Gail is gone. Management has shaken up the place. Should be getting better.

Comment Date: 8/31/2010 Name: Nobody Special
Look! Everyone is right. Customer service s*cks! Pro shop and lanes are good. After bowling at this establishment for many of years, the staff learns to respect you. Afterall you are paying your league dues, which are not cheap. However, if you bowl in a league, you can control the staff. THEY are all RELATED, including management. This is why they never change. Gail, the same lady has been running this place for years, and will not leave. If you are out for a 1 night bowl, beware, they will be rude. Join a league. If not the nearest place is in MS or Mandeville, which are run by the SAME people.

Comment Date: 7/10/2010 Name: ronnie
the management here s*cks.***** steals league money and goes to casinos

Comment Date: 5/29/2010 Name: kierrapatirce!
the wierd lady i just spoke with on the phone was really RUDE! she acts like i am supposed to know the prices? ugh! but im going there tonight with mt BEST friend ERIN you should really meet her she is beautiful and AMAZING!

Comment Date: 5/14/2010 Name: RICHARD J.
I guess the mangement does read any of these comments. I don’t go there alot and with good reason. There is one “lady” that happens to be there every time I go there. Apparently, she does not care about her appearance and give an attitude to anyone who does not bowl there in leagues. I guess I need to find another place.

Comment Date: 5/4/2010 Name: J
Went to bowling usa last month to practice for a tournament and the place s*cked. It was dark, empty, no kinda games, lanes were breaking down, horrible customer service, and the pricing was horrible. I have been to many centers all over the United States, and I will never go back to that place again.

Comment Date: 4/25/2010 Name: Darin
bowling usa is the best ever they have a great facility and great moonlight bowling it just rocks

Comment Date: 3/9/2010 Name: Jade
their service is TERRIBLE . the moonlight bowling is fun though , if you can get a lane . im going this weekend for my birthday , luckily we already reserved our lanes . hope we have no bad encounters with them as we have had in the past .

Comment Date: 1/21/2010 Name: Renee’
I have lived in Slidell & visited Bowling USA for many years. The new upgrades are nice but as many people have expressed the staff is UNBELIEVABLY rude. They have no idea what customer service is let alone how to provide it.I have never been dismissed or treated so rudely in my life!I am amazed the owners have not taken corrective action with the staffing issues- especially with the sheer number of complaints!I think that says more about the owners and management than anything else.Such a shame considering bowling is one of the few things in Slidell that our teens have for entertainment. If the staffing issues were repaired I am sure Bowling USA would become one of the most profitable establishments on the northshore.I will not be going back until those issues are addressed (which I hope will be soon).

Comment Date: 1/9/2010 Name: Dustin
I just moved here to Slidell, and have called the bowling alley a few times. Everytime I call though there just happens to be leagues there. I have called at least 3 times a week and SUPPOSEDLY there are always leagues there.

Comment Date: 11/24/2009 Name: Anonymous
I bowl there twice a week. Customer service is not good as mentioned before although I have found after they get to know you they are better. The pro-shop is ran by Buddy and he is excellent to deal with. The oil pattern on the lanes is fairly good and the big attraction for me. I still haven’t figured them out but am getting better all the time.
This is my second year bowling there and I just found out there is a discount for league bowlers to practice. I haven’t seen or heard this anywhere in the house. Found out from someone on the league. Again customer service is on the light side. They just don’t know they are in the customer service business.

Comment Date: 11/19/2009 Name: TL
I agree with all the comments. I was raised at bowling lanes in several different states. This is the worst customer service that I have had at a public place. We have a group that goes at least 2 times a month and if it wasn’t for the fun the group has I would not go and the price is right on the group rate. I would jump at the chance to get ahold of Leisure Time Entertainment to report this abuse to the customers, but can’t seem to find their information. I would also jump at the chance to manage this place and turn it around into a profit making business.

Comment Date: 10/25/2009 Name: B
About the league bowlers thing..get over it if they have reserved the lanes. Those people take bowling seriously and go every week on that day… I also agree with Chris, everyone’s spelling and grammer is horrible and they are talking about other people..

Comment Date: 7/25/2009 Name: john
after reading all these comments about the employees, it makes me wonder why management doesn’t do anything to improve the situation….

Comment Date: 7/10/2009 Name: Ricardo
With a few exceptions, nothing but a bunch of rude, grumpy, inconsiderate employees. Talked to Gail on the phone a couple of times (nice lady), the young guy in the pro shop was terrific…but the overweight girl and the lady with the mustache that were at the front counter were just terrible. If they don’t like dealing with people they should quit.

Comment Date: 6/21/2009 Name: j
I like the place overall, however, the personnel are rude and inconsiderate. Instead of going there to reserve lanes, I believe it would be more effiecient to reserve lanes via phone. That way we would not have to go every 30 minutes to check if we are next on the list…

Comment Date: 6/2/2009 Name: BRANDON
customer service is horrible but the center in itself is nice needs new workers

Comment Date: 4/5/2009 Name: Seth R.
I’m 16 and I have lived in Slidell my whole life and not once have I ever had a good experience with the people at the front desk. They act like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. They will lie to you so that league players get lanes. The owner took the time to get new lanes and upgrade the scoring system a while back but neglected replace the employees. If I had another choice I would stop going there, but I don’t so I have to deal with it.

Comment Date: 3/3/2009 Name: Brit
I have went to this bowling alley a number of times and every time the personnel are very rude. Not only this, if you go in there on a Thursday night all of the league bowlers are too. Will not return!

Comment Date: 2/12/2009 Name: Chris R.
I believe that the people posting comments about this particular bowling alley should really work on their spelling and grammar. How else are people supposed to take you seriously? I suppose, though, this is Louisiana. Maybe I am setting my standards too high.

Comment Date: 1/24/2009 Name: holly.
theres a guy that works here and he has brown hair and braces. i believe his name starts with a b, i think ts brent, but im not positive.
he is the worst employee ever, he doesnt appriciate any customer and plays on his phone all day.
he needs to get fired ASAP! before anyother customers complain.
please and thank you.

Comment Date: 10/23/2008 Name: Crystal
I went there last weekend, and had a blast! Although the customer service is horrible, if the girl that was behind the register would have got off the phone for a minute to take my order that would have been nice. Other than the bad service, Me and my family had a nice time!

Comment Date: 8/30/2008 Name: Danny G
Bowled here last weekend and had a super time. The lanes weren’t dry or too slick. Very friendly place.

Comment Date: 7/9/2008 Name: robert r
Nice center. Too bad the people that work there are grumpy and lazy.

Comment Date: 7/7/2008 Name: Tommy
It’s such a shame that everyone who comes to this bowling alley is treated so poorly. Just the other night I was told that I couldn’t play one game of bowling with only two people because they closed at 10:00. It was 9:15. Every time I come here the staff make me upset.

Comment Date: 6/23/2008 Name: Anonymous
The staff there is really lazy and slow. They are inconsiderate of your feelings and try to blow you off by giving some change. They also tell you there is no league bowling when there really is, and then make you wait. Besides all that its still only a decent bowling alley.

Comment Date: 6/22/2008 Name: Anonymous
Service is lacking. Some workers (particularly the man behind the register) need to straighten their act. They need to appreciate customers more and treat them nicely. It’s a shame that Slidell doesn’t have a better bowling alley.

Comment Date: 5/17/2008 Name: Michael R
What a bunch of gumpy employees. I would fire the whole bunch and start over.

Comment Date: 4/15/2008 Name: michelle
The bowling alley it self is ok, but the service is HORRIBLE. The staff is just straight up rude. The owner should really look into hiring new staff. Most are just mean, it really makes people not want to go there.

Enjoy going to the center. To correct a few previous comments: new lane beds where put in only 5 years ago and the manager almost lives there. Prices are reasonable and they have one of the best pros in the area.

Comment Date: 9/2/2007 Name: Anonymous
Bowling USA needs to fix their lanes instead of buying flat screen TV’s. Dont you go to a bowling alley to bowl? I can watch tv at my own house.

Comment Date: 8/27/2007 Name: Anonymous
I was in Bowling USA recently and asked for a specific lane. I was told it was out of order. It was probably not a good lane as it was the first one near the wall. They had many empty lanes so my family was given a nice middle lane. Twenty minutes later a black family came in and low and behold…guess which lane they got? (They
had plenty of other empty lanes.) The one that was “out of order”. Also, has anyone else noticed how slippery the floors are in front of the foul line? I fell a few times in front of the line.

Comment Date: 7/2/2007 Name: Pheobe Johnson
I always have fun bowling, but every time I got something to eat, it tasted burnt and I felt sick after eating it. You fixed the smoking promblem, but now could you fix the food. I will always have fun bowling I can’t wait to go again.

Comment Date: 6/9/2007 Name: Laura
The new smoking ban, in effect in Louisiana from January 2007, forces them to put the smokers outside, so the air is clearer now. I agree, it was so bad before, that I could barely stand to be in there. But, it’s better now. Yeah, the customer service is lacking the SERVICE part of it, but perhaps these comments will help them see they need to improve.

Comment Date: 5/2/2007 Name: Raeanne
This place had way too many smokers. I got sick just walking in to the place. I only go there about once a year because of how bad the smoke becomes after staying in there for two minutes. I truly hate this place with a passion; I wish they would stop the smoking because it gets so nasty in the place after a long day of smokers visiting and doing what they do best: smoke. (CLEAN THE PLACE UP and OUT OF SMOKERS)

Comment Date: 1/3/2007 Name: Sal Delvisco
This bowling alley would not be so bad if the customer service was much better. The lanes are old, but usually pretty well oiled.
After hurricane Katrina, the center was shut down for a few months and they upgraded the scoring system, but nothing else. The pin-setters should have been replaced, or at least refurbished. So, there are multiple recurring problems with the pin-setters.
The outstanding complaint I have with this center is with the horrible customer service. Some of the employees act like they are doing you a favor by assisting you and answering your questions. They do not know how to treat a customer.
There is also very seldom a “manager” on duty, or anyone that can make any type of decisions.
Another problem area with me is the lack of uniform rule enforcement for everyone. It seems that certain patrons can disregard the rules, but others cannot.
Overall, a bad bowling experience. It really s*cks that the Slidell area does not have another, modern bowling center.

Tiffany Lanes Comments
Comment Date: 1/14/2012 Name: Elle
Tiffany Lanes is the WORST place I have EVER been! DO NOT waste your time and money! We spent ALOT of money on games.. And without warning, the counter person shut our game off in the middle of playing, with NO warning at 10PM saying our lanes were reserved at 10. I get it. I’d have been FINE with that — with SOME notification!!! NONE. The time before this I have gone.. We TRIED to order a pizza, as it’s ON the menu.. We were DENIED pizza because the very RUDE person said there was a party going on, and they had to make sure the party had enough, and be served first, so we couldn’t have any. No sign that pizza was “out”, or anything. I WILL NEVER return. It’s old, dingy, the service is AWFUL, people are RUDE, and overall I’m DISGUSTED about my experiences there. I CANNOT BELIEVE the customer service there. It TRULLY needs an over haul for ATTITUDE adjustments!

Comment Date: 12/8/2011 Name: Niknak
I took my 3 kids bowling there today. We had a nice time. I thought the gentleman working the counter was polite and attentive. The building itself was old but clean and the lanes were fine. Everything worked properly. I think most 70/80s era bowling alleys are the same. This one has definitely had some upgrades in recent years, new carpet, flooring. It didn’t smell musty and smokey like most of them do.

Comment Date: 10/21/2011 Name: bree
Did I hit a nerve??? So what if the place is old! I have heard from many people that this place isn’t as bad as you people say it is! Neither is the staff. And for somebody to say its because they live in new orleans is a little discriminated! Like people around here ha e some kind of problem with the other side of the lake. I heard this at work all the time by the way. And its ridiculous. When it is people around here that are too judgmental, cant drive, have to be on their phones everywhere they go, if its when they’re driving, in the stores, whatever! I read some of these reviews hun, and YES I will say this again. They just don’t appreciate anything! Not all of them are rich, it just has to do with the majority of these people being a**h*l*s! If you don’t like the bowling alley, stop whining and don’t go! Don’t ruin the fun for the ones who actually like the place. Ok?! Have a great day! And by the way, I moved down here because of new orleans. It just so happens that the apartments are cheaper over here

Comment Date: 10/21/2011 Name: bowlinggeezer
A couple of months ago Tiffany hired a new mechanic. The change is quite noticeable. The pin setters and ball returns are MUCH more reliable than they were before and ball wear and damage is greatly reduced. If the ball damage and unreliable equipment was keeping you away, you might want to give Tiffany another chance. Snack bar is average for a suburban bowling alley, and while Tiffany tends to be a little understaffed and can be overwhelmed by large crowds, I haven’t seen the “rudeness” that some people are reporting here. I have no idea what’s up with their pro-shop; it’s hardly ever open and has minimal selection. Lanes are well oiled and correctly oiled for league play, but do tend to get really dry toward the end of a weekend of casual play, but that’s pretty typical of ANY bowling center.

Comment Date: 10/17/2011 Name: Anonymous
@breeproud: You are rude, crude and way off base with your complaints. The posters on here are mainly saying that the lanes aren’t oiled, there are too many problems with returns, shoes are old, and the staff is rude. You do not have to be rich, poor, or anything in between to see that those things are a problem. Nobody was asking for it to be ‘childproofed’, just clean and in proper working order. And it doesn’t matter where you are from or where you work, staff should never be rude. I didn’t see everyone putting down individuals for being poor or low class, they were complaining about the establishment being old and not well-kept. YOU are the one putting down other people. YOU are the one being rude and hateful. YOU are the one who is bullying. If you can’t afford NO, why did you move here? Not cheap! If you are so miserable, move somewhere else because there are plenty of neighborhoods outside of Mandeville where life is cheaper. expensive.

Comment Date: 10/2/2011 Name: bree proud middle class citizen!
Ok so I have never been to this bowling alley but as far as I’m reading from all yall is mostly your OWN problems. Just because the employees live in new orleans and don’t own like 20 cars like the rest of you stuck up rich snobs of mandeville do, does NOT make them trashy. And there probably always pissed off because they have to deal with little {deleted} like yourselves! And yes, I just recently moved to mandeville last year. Only because I can’t afford to live on the other side of the lake. But a lot of you {deleted} need to grow up! I understand the most of you want your kids to be safe, but let them be kids! You can’t force the place to safety proof every inch of their bodies with pillows and what not…yalls problem is this place isn’t good enough for yall! So quit whining and go back to your {deleted} mansions, pull that stick out of your *ss*s, drink your whine and and {deleted}! Apparently some people think they are good. Or else they wouldn’t still be in business! You people piss me off

I took my grandchildren to the Tiffany Lanes yesterday. They had a good time. There were lots of kids and parents bowling and enjoying themselves. We did not eat nor get a snack. The restrooms were old but clean. The lanes were ok and the service was ok. If you want to bowl these lanes are good for entertaining the kids. We had a positive experience.

Comment Date: 6/1/2011 Name: Stroker Ace
I have been in worse establishments (the Old Rock n Bowl) but there is much room for improvement. The bar really is a deserted storage area, and the snack counter is a joke. There is usually no employee manning the counter, and if there is, they are sitting in the back reading a book! The lanes are BONE DRY, and are only oiled for league play as far too many alleys do. The lanes are all synthetic, no maple in sight. Ball return requests are too frequent and take some of the enjoyment out of the game. The so called “pro shop” is also a complete joke. They have very little product in stock, and the stuff they do have is dated. (The shop is also trashed, and looks like you need a tetanis shot to walk in there.) I had a few minor run ins with the employees, but nothing that serious. A few are very personable, but at least two are real battle axes. If another alley opens in Covington I will no longer bowl at Tiffany.

i was going to say anything but it seems like the owner have to hear it. first the lanes are always dry. the desk ladies always rude unfriendly and seems to hate her job.the lane machines always seem to get stuck.the house balls are no good.not enough shoes. the arcade is just a blinking light show becuase there always broke. a bar that’s just a storage.bathrooms that look like a truck stop in pakistan. parking lot you can’t see good around at night.a backup sewer smell when you first walk in. the might seem harsh but true see for your self they don’t try to hide any of this they don’t care.

i bowl there on league and for enjoyment probably spend sixty bucks a week for a couple of years now. but recently changed my mind it seems staff change makes it a more unstable place if your a league bowler and you spend a good bit of money you think you would get treated good right wrong unless your related to someone who works or manages there!!! i rather spend my money and drive out of my way to another bowling center were you are respected for your buisness

ive been there a few times. kind of a dirty place. not the greatest if ur really into bowling, and definatly not a place to impress ur girl. but if ur just looking to have some with ur friends, it will do just fine.

well just like many of you i had a bad experience. i brought my own bowl which with spin catches well apparently not on these lanes. then my ball would get stuck frequently so i asked if there is a problem with bringing your own ball. the response blew my mind. yes it does that to shiny balls well i forgot i was bowling so yeah that was my experience.

I searched to find an owner for this horrible “establishment”, or at least someone who is in charge that may care. All I found was websites that have horrible comments about this disgusting place. If you screw me over its one thing but to screw the kids over just dumbfounds me. How can a woman be so rude and refuse to put up the bumpers for a 5 and 6 year old. I would like to know who pissed in that mean old hags fruit loops. If anybody knows who is over her please let me know. Something has got to be done.

i bowled here on a travel league and the 1970’s machines destroyed a priceful ball i looked at the house balls on the shelf they had more holes then the streets in new orleans you do better throwing you ball down the highway with less damage

The weak link at Tiffany is the employees. I find the place clean, and the lanes OK. There are two establishments in the N.O. area “with attitude” and this is one of them. Colonial Lanes is run by these two dwarf brothers who treat people with disrespect like at Tiffany. This employee problem is easy enough to fix, but I guess management does give a rip. If an alley opens in Covington, I will kiss Tiffany goodby.

YALL ARE ALL WRONG! Tiffany Lanes is not that bad its really cool the best time to go is at like 10 at night. the only bad part is that you have to wait if you dont have a reservation.

I called to ask some general questions. The employee who answered the phone was very short with me, abrupt, and came off as very noncaring and rude. They can keep their bad attitudes, and we won’t be going to Tiffany Lanes!

after reading a few of these comments and expierienncing the actual place i think that it’s just awful. Although the place has gone through a few renovations doesent mean its like a new candy store. the Staff are quite rude and the food is pretty much unbearable. the shoes are disgusting and are probably 10-20 years old. (Not that rented bowling shoes are cleaned daily and shined to perfection)…. all and all Tiffany Lanes needs to pull it together. I really think that there needs to be something done about this. but its quite impossible with the staff there as a matter of fact.

After reading the reviews, and not really wanting to go, but trying to find something for my kids to do on a summer day, i called to find out about their rates, and before I even got to ask, the person who answered the phone gave me a terrible greeting, “YES!!!” was her greeting, then” Tiffany Lanes, what do you want?” I answered, “Never mind,” She said, ‘FINE!..WHATEVER!” I don’t think I need to see the inside of the place to know how I would feel about it. TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!

The customer service isnt that great and it is a run down bowling center. The only person there who is knows the the heck is going on and the only one who displays the BEST customer service is Billy. I do bowl there because it is the only one in the area. Like a monopoly. In summary, it is good enough for what we have, but if another place opened, I would go there.

This bowling alley is the worst I have ever been to. The staff is not friendly. The shoes, balls, etc. Are filthy and both of my children got sick from it. The food was awful and it’s a little over priced for what you receive in return. I am very unhappy that we do not have another option for bowling without drivng 30 mins. I will not return here until they get it together. Also they should post signs about the very slippery floors. 2 people slipped and were hurt here due to lack of warning signs. And no… Not all people are aware that the floors are slippery.

This place is one of the worst bowling alleys, with a group of the worst employees. Also, they canceled their Friday night midnight bowling, one of their few attractions. Its like this place doesn’t want to make money.

I brought my grandson to a birthday party for our 8 year old great-niece last week; it had been about 5 years since my last visit there. At first I was pleased with what they had done to remodel the place. After being around some of the employees I quickly changed my mind. They were a bunch of uneducated, trashy people. The kids were having a great time until one of the smaller kids tried to roll the ball down the alley and it got stuck half way down. The side rails that were up to prevent gutter balls went down and I was trying to bring them upright when one of the 8 year olds took it upon herself to walk down the alley to get the ball. Before I could stop her she was already on her way back when all of a sudden a male employee (manager) came running up to me and yelled into my face, “what do you think you’re doing sending that little girl down the alley!!!” I preceded to tell him that I had NOT sent her down the alley. He was practically touching my nose he was so close to me YELLING. I was in shock. I told him to get out of my face and that maybe he should join an Anger Management class. This would have been all avoided if they would have a representative assigned to each party and tell the little ones in the beginning of the party, “do not go down the alley after a ball”.
The pizza was terrible. The woman at the front desk was very rude and trashy. It is a shame that a nice bowling alley has to be critized because the owners refuse to get quality employees.

Wow, after reading just a few of these comments I got really mad. To you people who think it’s so horrible atleast it’s something and if they knock it down I’m pretty sure they’re not going to build another bowling alley there. Tell me how many times you see that happen? I love that place and always will. You don’t find alot of bowling alleys. And it’s mandeville, there’s not alot to do here so why ruin the kids and adults who love this place and love to bowl just because you think it’s bad.?

After reading the horrible reviews about Tiffany Lanes, I went there expecting to find a dump. Tifanny Lanes is far from a dump. It is actually quite nice. It is smoke free, looks recently renovated, and most importantly the bathrooms were clean. The staff were not overly nice, but they certainly were not rude. The times we had to get the front desk girl’s attention because our bowling ball got stuck or the pin setter didn’t go back up, she called someone within a few minutes to fix the problem. These problems happen at EVERY bowling center, even the best ones. I don’t think that some of the people making comments realize how much shoes, bowling balls, etc. cost. It looks as if they put alot of money into renovating Tiffany Lanes. Maybe once they’ve made a better profit margin they could afford to buy better rental shoes and lighter “kids” balls. Until then, buy your own shoes and bring them with you. It’s a more sanitary option anyway…

I remember going to Tiffany Lanes as a small child-like creature. I loved the broken sink in the men’s room. I also liked watching the two heavy women wearing matching “Braves” jackets. One had a mustache (may have been a man) The other looked like a fat gorilla with popcorn kernels for teeth, or as some say, “TEEF.” Her breath smelled like the other lady’s mustache. I guess that’s her favorite cuisine.

well, I have experienced this place more than any person should and oh what a waste of time that place is…
If you want good staffing first off fire the current employees, pay more, and drug test them and not hire children. It’s a start, but it has to start at that. Make sure every employee has at least a g.e.d. completion or high school diploma.
secondly; start off by training the employees correctly in the field the job they will be doing, it’s not rocket science to operate a fryer, computer, or even clean a table properly.
third; have leagues they operate correctly, not by some ‘house’ that doesn’t know what they are doing.
That is all.

I read a few of the responses to the quality of this bowling alley. As far as the Louisiana comment, that is sad. We need to take more responsibility for the place we live. “It’s Louisiana, what do you expect?” is a cop out. I caught wind of a new bowling alley coming up in Covington. If we, as consumers, can cause a large enough impact i.e. boycott Tiffany Lanes, they will go out of business and we can be sure not to have to put up with this kind of horrible service. I’m not even going to get started on my experiences, as they are numerous and very similar to the ones listed here. We can make it to where this site is the only memory of that place. When the new bowling alley springs up, please be sure to direct your disposable income there. I have no idea who the owner is, and couldn’t care less about the success of someone else’s business who I have never met. I am unbiased, but regardless, I’m sure someone can relate to my input. If Louisiana has a bad reputation, let’s make it a little better by forcing a higher standard by which we live.

The only good thing about this place is that it is non smoking. The owners can not be from the North Shore or any place with class.I recently took my family for midnight bowling and even though they had a lot of lanes open we could not start or even practice bowling until 10:00pm. You pay 50.00 per lane max 4 bowlers for midnight bowling and as I said earlier you cant start 1 minn early but when it is over they will shut the lanes down about 5 minn early. We dont bowl often but we were having a big family fun compitition and our last bowler was on the last frame and they threatened to put us in jail if we finished, yes at 11:55.I live in Covington and I will never step foot in this white trash ran establishment again. There is a place in Hammond (Tangi Lanes) stays open until 2:00 am on weekends and is ran so much better.

What I really should have said is that they “act” like they’re from Jerry Springer Show, not “look” like it. And the reason I say that is because of the rude attitiude. I would recommend to the owners that they have the employees go through courses in customer service. It would benefit their business and attract the many families that live in this community.

Comment Date: 1/19/2009 Name: flabbergasted
I never post reviews online, but after our experience last night at
Tiffany Lanes, I am just shocked that the place is still running because of the terrible service.
I noticed someone comment that the staff looks like they are from the Jerry Springer show. Well I totally agree.. It’s a shame because this is a very classy and family oriented community, and it seems that families are very turned off by Tiffany Lanes and bringing their business elsewhere. Oh well, too bad for Tiffany Lanes. They are losing so much potential profit.
I, my husband, and my kids will never step foot into that place again. The girl behind the concession stand treats her customers like they are a total inconvenience. When I first went up to the counter, she just sat there doing who knows what. It looked like she was on the phone. It was hard to tell because there was a privacy wall, yet I could see through it and I knew she saw me standing there because she was facing me. It was about five minutes before she took my order. Then when we picked up our order, she didn’t give us our pitcher of coke. Ok, simple mistake, right? Well when my husband KINDLY told her, and she gave it to us, then asked how many cups we needed, then slammed them on the counter with an attitude. The entire night the girl had an attitude. On top of being rude, the food service was also very slow. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that she served my son a burnt hot dog.
The bowling experience was even worse than that. The lane we were on needed serious maintenance. It was messing up our game big time. It was skipping turns. it was just a big mess. The bar that clears the pins would sometimes just come down in the middle of someone’s turn and it would just sit there for 3 minutes and not go back up, then would clear the pins…. right in the middle of someone’s turn, before they even rolled the ball or while in the middle of rolling the ball! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
When my husband told the girl at the front counter, he waited about 15 minutes before she fixed the problem. He was just standing there at the counter while people walked in for service and instead of tending to my husband, who ALREADY paid, she decided to help customer after customer who walked in the door and she just ignored him.
So a little later, as we were still playing our first game, we decided that we were going to cancel to second one because we just didn’t want to stay in the hell hole much longer, so when I went to the counter to tell her we wanted to cancel the SECOND game, she refunded us. But she didn’t only cancel our second game. She also cancelled the first one that we were still in the middle of playing!!!!!!! Right in the middle of our game, it just shut down. I felt bad for my children. We were trying to have a family fun night.
Oh and I forgot to mention that early on in the middle of our game, one of the men that worked there took the balls off of people’s lanes without asking or saying anything, and gave them to other customers. HE TOOK MY FOUR YEAR OLD AND TWO YEAR OLDS LIGHT WEIGHTED BALLS AWAY!!!!!!!
More than half of the candy machines did not work, the pool table did not work, the cash machine did not work and it was the same way when we went there 3 years ago.
Funny thing is, I went there once last year and the food service was slow and they burnt our pizza and I had to wait extra long for another one. I let it slide and figured accidents like that happen. But now I see it is a consistent problem.
I figure that all the employees must be related to the owners because I couldn’t imagine any employer keeping them on so long.

I have gone to Tiffany Lanes several times recently ONLY because my 4 yr old nephew has had such a great time. If it were my choice I would try and find some other bowling alley but this one is really convenient. The people are very rude and the person working behind the food counter is extremely rude. I’m not sure if it is male or female. They also have young teenagers working the food counter which I don’t agree with. The young girl rubbed her hand through her hair then went to fix my food. I asked her to please make some more fresh fries because her hands touched the ones she just made right after rubbing her hair. YUKKY!!!
I wish the owner would clean up the bowling alley and put his employees in a professionl customer service class so they can learn manners.

when I read all of the reviews I was reluctant to go but I was happy that I did. It was clean, all of the lanes were in good shape and none broke down that we saw. We did not eat anything but they offer snacks. The only thing I would like to see is a different variety of music on the juke box. We had a good time!

As for bowling – this is the only thing in the Mand/Cov. area, however there are several other family entertainment places. I would suggest the bounce house, animal land, or the best of the three Funland Golf & Games. All offer a better, cleaner, and more fun environment than this place, and although none of them offer bowling – I would say I’d rather visit any of them than waste my money at this place!

I went to this alley today and it is the worst one I have every been to. The lady (1) that was working the counter had a really bad attitude and was not a very pleasant person. I paid $30.00 for two games of pool with two (2) adults and my one (1) four year old son. It was not a very clean place and when I left the lady was arguing with a large group of people that they had to pay a large some to bowl. I do not recommend this alley I will continue to go to Tangi Lanes in Hammond.

Went to counter, found porter (so called helping the counter person, by the way this is during LEAGUE when there was only 4 lanes of open bowling) playing video games on new computers (which by the way controls all scoring in center). Told him to get out program and get from behind the counter. That was just protecting scoring computers. If he was doing his job, this would of Never happened.

I recently took my family of 5 and the neighbors across the street (party of 8) to go bowling at Tiffany lanes after calling ahead to ensure there were lanes open. When we arrived they wouldnt give me a lane, when there were several open, because they said they had several parties booked starting in an hour. When I mentioned that I had called not 45 minutes ago and was told to come ahead they had plenty of open lanes the girl behind the desk said “well you didnt talk to me”. We decided to go ahead and wait for a lane and get something to eat while waiting. When I went to the counter to order there was one lady back there cooking, she looked over at me and said “come back later, I’m too busy”. I complained to the manager about all that was taking place and she took very good care of my party, she brought us our drinks, took our order and arranged for us to have 2 lanes side by side as soon as we finished eating. I like what they have done with the remodel since the storm but it does look like they ran out of money and there is still a lot they could do to make it look better. They definitely need to invest in some more balls, seems like every time I go there are less and less and what is there is in very poor condition. I am a smoker myself but do not smoke indoors (havent since the birth of our 1st, 23 years ago) and really like the no inside smoking policy. As this is basically the only form of entertainment on this end of town and is the only bowling alley around I would like to see them step up and complete the improvements, open up the pro shop, step up on the games, more courteous personnel, hell maybe even knock out the wall on the end of the bar by the bathroom and turn that bar into a “Rock and Bowl” type thing. The whole place has potential to really be something but they need to get started because if they wait the way things are growing around us something else bigger / nicer will eventually build close by. All in all its the only game in town and still can be a fun place to go.

I come to this bowling alley frequently and things have been ok up until just recently. I was sitting at a table watching one of my family members bowl. All of a sudden this guy comes storming at the counter. I hear a guy at the counter screaming at the porter that seemed to be helping out the lady behind the desk because there were customers pilling up on her. I found that very disturbing.I asked for his name and they told me that he actually works there. His name is Billy Ingram, he should be told about his attitude toward his co-workers. I hope who ever is higher that him takes disiplinary actions against him. I also called bowlingusa and complained against him, so hopfully someone does something so this never happens to another employee again.

I want to know when the management/owner of this facility is going to step-up and do something about this place. This is the only bowling facility in this small community. And it’s a tragedy that it is in the condition that it is, and being operated by a rude, low-class staff. What a poor reflection on the city of Mandeville.

I am not an avid bowler, and i don’t bowl for my high school although i am pretty good. However i behold enough sense to see that this bowling alley is in the dumps. Lets start of though on the good things about this alley. Number one the food is great, low prices, the hurricane remodeling is good, and its a fun place. Now the bad. Number one the alleys stink, the are never properly waxed so if u want a good curving ball i hope you r extreamly flexible. Also almost all the balls have cracks and holes in them. Third off the pin setter knocks the pins down for u sometimes and the scorer always messes up and skips. The service is bad to, the employes are snobby and mean. They have no intensions on helping you. I once had to wait 15 minutes for a women to press a button on the desk compurter to fix my game that just shut off. They are also very slow. There is this one old timer who works at the front of the desk and takes littarly 45 mins to get your games right. Also the weomen that cooks the food just smokes and cooks without washing your hands. And if u got on leauge night be prepared to bring a breathing aperadas because the smoke is so bad, or you can just die of second hand smoke. Thats it about this place i rate it a 1 out of 10 peace!

Comment Date: 7/8/2006 Name: BLCS
First off , its a bowling alley, not a health club , so if someone wants to smoke then they can do so if they please, im not a smoker but i don’t mind it because honestly it is not that bad! I do agree that the alley needs to buy about 50 more balls and throw 75% of the balls they have now in the dumpster. The renovations that they have done look alot better than before but i would like to see more tables added and the cieling fixed bacause it looks like they just ran out of money and didnt finish the cieling. Also turning the air conditioner lower wouldnt be a bad idea, it has to be around 80 degrees in there at the coolest. Thanks alot and see yall every sunday at 5,The whole crew will be there

I attended a B-day party today for my daughters friend at Tiffany Lanes and was shocked. They initially appeared to be under-staffed, (something that we all are dealing with since the hurricane so we are used to this) but quickly becamed concerned that along with few VISABLE staff, there was very young girl in charge of the food concessions, there was a 12 yr old girl taking orders, money, running the cash register. Needless to say we waited 45 minutes for our food, which I was patient, she did say she was only 12 and was not being paid ( I asked her) When our 4 girls finished eating and were ready to bowl we were informed that we only had 12 minutes left to bowl. The girl that took the b-day order did not tell us to bowl 1st- and they watched us sit there and eat,we are hard to miss- 3 of the girls are in wheelchairs, they all have Cerebal Palsy. The person working behind the register would not let us start our hour over. We had to pay per person to play 1 game, they are all physically challenged, and use the bumpers and a ramp. These girls LOVE to bowl, it’s a sport that they can be very sucessful playing! I of course became defensive with this girl who was rude- didn’t care that we weren’t informed of the time restraint, we recieved poor service from the staff- 1 mother WITNESSED the older girl at concessions walk out of a bathroom stall and leave without washing her hands, they all glared at us after the confrontation about the lack of information, the extra money required nevermind the sheer lack of consideration, and all of this when 10 other lanes were open the entire time! I don’t know who is “running” this business, but I will NOT return. The staff is un-professional in attitude and appearance. And it breaks my heart because our girls bowl frequently with school, and it’s one of their favorite places. We were not asking for special treatment, free bowling, or anything extra. They didn’t even bring us paper plates for the girls hotdogs! Someone needs to be aware of these conditions, I won’t even let my 15 yr old son go there by himself after today.

This bowling alley does have a huge smoke smell to it but once you get used to it, it’s not ridiculous. The price is like any other bowling alley, moderate. The new remake of the bowling alley is fantastic. I suggest you bring your own ball though because the bowling balls are kind of out of shape. But out of 5 I would give this bowling alley a 4.

Comment Date: 2/27/2006 Name: ds
Totally agree with previous comments. They have done a lot of work since the storm, but could do more. And the smoke has got to go….I try to go early with my son, but it never fails…there is always someone nearby smoking like a chimney.

Comment Date: 1/5/2006 Name: D
Needs to be completely refurbished and hopefully become a non-smoking bowling alley in this part of town where good, clean, family fun is a MUST. Children should not be exposed to smoke and as much as I’d love to take my family there for weekend family outings, I cannot stand the overwhelming amount of smoke in the air inside the facility. Thank you for listening.

Where do i start. Creole lanes is my second home.i miss living in houma.. they do cosmic bowling on weekends, they have leagues for children n adults people of all ages. They just did alot of changes there in the center.. its so nice all 44lanes now have flat screen tvs with wonderful graphics.. its a great family place.. its cheaper than going to the movies. The food is so good.. and u can smoke in the bar for all the smokers.. the prices are cheaper on weekdays and for cosmic bowling a little more than the weekdays.. but its still a fun place to go… Everyone working there has been there for many years and treats everyone like family.. the snack shop has really resonable prices not expensive at all.. hope everyone has a awsome time when yal experience creole lanes

Creole Lanes is awesome I thank them for stopping the smoking because now I don’t have to worry about dying from second hand smoke. :]

We have a new ideas here at Creole Lanes. We have always been on the cutting edge of bowling technology. We have had mixed reviews about our integrated bowling night. We think this is perfectly acceptable in this day and age. I want everyone to come out and enjioy everyone else and have a great time bowling!

Comment Date: 4/10/2008 Name: Bowler
Creole Lanes is a great place to bowl. It’s $3.50 a game per person. And to rent shoes, it’s only $3.00. It’s also a safe place to be. Law enforces are there during the busier times to keep the peace, and might I add that they do an EXCELLENT job. The staff is friendly and flexible. Here’s a simple solution if you disagree, Bowl South is on the East side of Houma. It’s on the right, as you are coming out of the tunnel. 🙂

I could not believe after I paid for a lane that I couldn’t have the gaurds up for my son. He is 12. The person behind the counter told me you have to be 7 and under. What does age have to do with it? I paid for the lane. Well it was the first and last time we bowl there.

Comment Date: 2/29/2008 Name: Concern Person
I don’t know what this world is coming too!I feel as a parent 16 is still to young to bowl without a parent. The reason being that as a parent we are still held accountable for the minor childs actions.Too also add what do children of this age really understand?

Comment Date: 2/16/2008 Name: Anonymous
The prices are $5.oo per game per person. You must now be 16 yrs of age to bowl alone. As for smoking, Its the law. We dont like the elitest non smoker {deleted} either but its the law. We raised the price because non smokers dont have to buy cigarettes and they can afford it. They will pay or leave. We figure the will pay.

Comment Date: 9/7/2007 Name: Sam
what r the current prices to bowl, do they change each day?

Comment Date: 7/5/2007 Name: Marie
you will loose a lot of bowler b/c of the ridiculous age limit. teens from 14 up should be aloud to bowl without a parent. you should make them bring there highschool i.d’s. that would be a lot better

Comment Date: 6/30/2007 Name: Anonymous
I think that the bowling age at night being changed to 16 will loose a lot of bowlers. me & my friends are 15 and used to go there A LOT. it should at least be 14 and up.

Comment Date: 6/30/2007 Name: Anonymous
i think at least 15 year olds should be able to bowl..as long as they have a permit.

Comment Date: 6/11/2007 Name: Hank
Creole will lose some bowlers because of no smoking, bit they will pick up teams from Bowl South because of smoking. It will probably wash out as even swap.

Comment Date: 2/2/2007 Name: Anonymous
hey smokers it is so nice to be able to go to the bowling alley and not have to leave smelling like smoke. its the law and there are more non smokers then smokers…stop whinning…….

Comment Date: 1/22/2007 Name: chris
hey guys,
isn’t the clean air act for all of la?
i don’t smoke, yet i disagree with it, but businesses must comply with it or risk penalties.

Comment Date: 1/13/2007 Name: Anonymous
unless you allow smoking in your center…you will lose a lot of bowlers, league and open..
it’s not fun anymore to go to your center.
I just stay home now.
too many kids hanging out also is another reason to stay home.

Comment Date: 1/5/2007 Name: Anonymous
your lanes are great, the employees are fantastic.
But..if you do not allow smoking by league bowlers..they will and are quitting. They are moving over to bowl south where they care about their leagues most..Bowl South did their homework and has the popular vote now of all leagues…they will move to have a more comfortable and pleasing time in their leagues.

I see so many people griping about how expensive stuff is…We charge $4 shoes and on the weekends we charge $4 games…I guess I wouldn’t see most of you at my center.

Comment Date: 8/2/2005 Name: Ace
Creole Lanes is a great place for my friends and I to hang out and have fun, but recently we have stopped going because prices just keep going up. Shoes were once only two dollars but now they went to three because they make you purchase socks with your shoe rental even if you’re already wearing socks. I think that is a little extreme because people don’t always want to purchase socks every time they bowl.

Comment Date: 7/19/2005 Name: me

I’ve been to this particular bowling alley a few times. It’s not the best alley I’ve ever bowled at. You really need to hunt for a decent bowling ball and finding a light-weight bowling ball with small finger holes for a child is difficult. The entire establishment on the inside could use a bit of a facelift as it is worn but working. I found the staff to be neither pleasant nor unpleasant. The word automaton comes to mind. The pin resetting and ball return had some glitches but that happens everywhere. As for shoe rentals, yes, some shoes were more worn than others, but new ones were available too. Simply point out the problem to the counter person and ask for a different pair. All in all, we haven’t had any major problems and the kids had a great time. Considering the fact that Lake Charles only has one bowling alley, you’ll go if that’s what you want to do for entertainment.

I saw why they dont allow older people to bowl with the pads. There was a party next to us and one of the dads bowled for his kid and he threw it so hard when it hit the bumper it jumped up and smoked the box at the end of the lane. The manager had to come down and try to fix it the camera was smashed to peices.

Comment Date: 7/23/2011 Name: bb
Recently we visited Petro Bowl. The staff would not allow us to get bumpers unless my son was under the age of eight. The air conditioner was not working and it was very hot. The ceiling tiles were gross. It looked like the roof has a leak. The whole building smells like smoke. The guys at the counter were not very friendly and not helpful at all. The shoes are very old and not very well kept. My son’s shoes were knoted up and my friends shoes soles were tore. We had to ask for different shoes.

I have recently started bowling with a buddy, we try to go atleast 2 times a week the staff if very nice but everyone most remember that everyone has bad days, I have always been treated with respect when we are there, Friday is one of the days we go bowling, and yes it is busy, but how many of you wait in a line for a table at an eating establishment? And can’t wait just the same to HAVE FUN!!! Try Petro bowl and make your own evaluates…thank you for your time…

I love Petro Bowl. I’ve been going there for as long as I can remember. I’ve never had a problem at all with them. I think most of these negative comments are from either angry ex-employee’s (who they obviously fired for a reason) or people who themselves just have a bad attitude. I work in the customer service industry and I know if I get spoken to like a dog I’m speak to you like a dog right back, I’m still a human being. I’ve gone with a large group and with just me and one other person, and i’ve went with a huge bachlorette party. EVERYTIME I go I enjoy myself. But opinions are like b*tth*les, everyone has one..

petro bowl is my favorite place to bowl, its prices are better than anywhere i’ve been. It doesn’t smell, it’s a well run establishment, and i’ve never had problems with employees or service. I’d recommend petro bowl to anyone..

I’ve been bowling at Petro Bowl for the past 15 years. I have never had a problem with the smell of the bowling alley, the food, or the service. Everyone there is ready to help. They never refused to fix a ball that was damaged by the lanes. Great place to bring the family or your group of friends to relax and have some fun bowling.

Comment Date: 10/30/2010 Name: JaMarcus
Man, whoever wrote those negative comments must have something against Petro Bowl, sounds like a disgrunnled employee. Four of my buddies, myself and our girlfriends went last Friday night to Petro and had a great time. The young man behind the counter was the most friendliest person I have met at a Bowling Alley. He said that we had so much fun that he gave us free coupons for when we come back. We all said that we would defintly come in the near future. We had fun because of the black light, music and smoke.

I recently read all the comments about petro bowl and my friends asked me to go I told them about what I read but they insisted that I go. we did and I am so glad, we had an great time last night the guys at the front counter came by and gave us some help on how to bowl. I must say the staff was very friendly and helpfull. I mentioned the site to the desk people and they stated they had some people whom was fired writing lies on the site. Petro Bowl never smelled like smoke I dont know where that came from the only place that smelled that way was the bar. The food came out quickly and was really good, I will definately go back and I hope everyone else gives them a shot!

Comment Date: 10/26/2010 Name: Big John
I think this sight should be cancelled because employees that are fired type in negative comments, also customers from the other center type in bad comments about the other center. I have been to both centers and i think they are both good for bowling. Just go and enjoy the air conditioning and bowl, eat, and enjoy participating in a sport.

For people who thinks petro is not clean and a mess then you go clean it yourself. i have been going there for 20 years bowling in differnt leagues and going for fun. Petro bowl has improved alot since what they were over the past couple of years and does not stink!!! So stop leavin negative comments bc if lake charles did not have a bowling center then lake charles would deffinitly be boring then. Yall say food and other items are overly priced there not that bad but look at the economy everything is overly priced now these days. Petro bowl is a great place to go have fun no matter what the occassion is. The lanes work great and the whole bowling center is great to.

Last night, around 9 o’clock (August 19, 2010) eight friend and I went to Petro Bowl, in Lake Charles. Renting the lanes went well. After renting two lanes on few of my friends went to the internet juke box, which is a great item in the bowling center. The manager of the establishment decided to start DJ-ing from he booth. We could not hear the music that we selected and paid for. He played the same song over and over until all our selections chosen on the juke box were played. A little later a voice came on the intercom. He asked the guy behind the counter what was he going to do with the extension cord that was hanging inside the booth. The the voice then said “It looks like a “N” word house. Very Very Very disrespectful… I am caucasain but three of the people with me and others in the bowling center were African American. In this day and time your employees should respect people of all race. The guy behind the counter was pointing at the cord as the voice was speaking. We decided to bowl another round and try to have fun. The guy behind the counter came by and pushed some chairs in at the tables beside us. One of the ladies with us asked him what time they closed he responded with a shrug and I don’t know and we are closed now. We continued to bowl our second round. A couple of the ladies with us wanted to go outside to smoke. They asked the guy behind the counter if they could step outside his comment was “I don’t care what you do just don’t leave with my shoes… We met outside and decided to visit awhile in front of the center. The guy behind the counter come out to put some trash in the back of the truck that was parked on the sidewalk next to the entrance. One of the guys with us dropped his bowling bag. He sat his drink which was in a plastic cup on the side rail of the truck. The counter guy asked if the truck belonged to us. we commented “NO”… He stood there staring at us. My friend apologized for the glass on the truck. The employees at this bowling center are extremely rude. I can’t imagine this establishment being in business much longer, if the employees continue to treat the customers in this manner. The employees were rude very rude and it seemed like it was on purpose.

Petro is a disgusting place that I would not allow my dog to stay in. It has a severe rat problem and it is evedent when you see them galavant through out the snack bar. The manager is rude and has done nothing but hire poor staff and {deleted comment}. The people that work there are rude and don’t know the first thing about customer service. It’s sad with all the money gained by the hurricane the bowling alley still looks like a dump. Everything is over priced from the beer, food, and even the price to bowl. Save your money and go to Sports Center it is smaller but the customer service is so much better.

We recently went bowling with 14 bowlers. 6 of them were very small children who were going to bowl with bumpers. I was rudely told by a staff member and later, the manager, that we would only be given 2 lanes even though we were requesting 3 so that we could separate the children from the adults. They told me we MUST bowl 7 people to a lane. I was completely unhappy with the rule and the way the situation was handled. The place is also filthy and it is inconvenient that you can’t use a debit card at the snack bar. THIS PLACE NEEDS A SERIOUS CLEANING!

Comment Date: 9/6/2009 Name: dana
i looked into having a birthday party for 35 kids, but after actually visiting the premises, i would not let my pets run around in such an undermaintained and poorly managed operation. Sure, they make tons of money off of overpriced things that other businesses offer FREE BUT the way the staff and particularly the ‘manager’ deal with children is simply appalling.none of my hard earned cash will ever see this place, not now, not ever. travesty.shenanigans.foul.

Comment Date: 7/30/2009 Name: Corey
ON July 20th 2009 around 10pm, i went up there with my wife to bowl a few games. Everything looked ok until I got the to register to get a lane. I was told there was a 20 min wait time to get a lane. Fine by me it’s an ok wait time, then came the horror, ” You have to have 4 people to bowl” as the young guy at the counter told me, And the older gentleman just watched from the register. So i had to ask, “What do you mean, i have only 2 poeple, can i get a lane to bowl?” the younger gentleman eplained agian,” Yes you can bowl” he said. “But you need 4 people to get a lane”.
Now dont get me wrong. But i’ve been managing bowling centers for 12 years and been around bowling all my life.
SO “HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU TURN DOWN MONEY, JUST BECAUSE YOUR SPECIAL NEEDS 4 PEOPLE?”
Dont look at me i’d put them on for regular price instead of turning them away.
And i cant believe i actually put in my resume to this center.

I have to say the owner is a very nice man who likes to help others. He has helped the 500 Club grow and it is greatly appreciated. The center has new carpet, new flooring, new staff. It is a great bowling center. Stop by and rolla few!

I have been to both of the bowling centers here in lake charles and find them to be equally good centers. I really enjoy the staff at sports center along with the pricesbut enjoy the lane conditions at petro so I guess depending on if it is for fun or for real as to where I would go again I also do not like the fact you must spend 25.00 to be able to use your debit card at petro!

Comment Date: 7/31/2008 Name: Beth
Well I had a okay time The staff was very snotty and the bathrooms need a good cleaning but I met some wonderful people who took the time out of their bowling to help me with a few pointers. I did not find the put downs of the other center there very funny nor professional of their staff but I guess to each their own!

Petro has come a long way since Rita. Over several hundred thousand dollars in renovations and repairs. Internet (TouchTunes) Juke Box, New Carpet, New Tile, New Scoring, New Masking Units, many new (house) bowling balls, etc… The pinsetting equipment is running much better than it has in years. So a few balls get damaged, they have never refused to repair a damaged ball. Every bowling center in the world has ball damage from time to time. The way I look at it, if you don’t want your ball damaged, don’t bowl with it. Use a house ball! I have been bowling for over 40 years and in league every year, had 2 bowling balls, both have had damage and has been repaired. Life goes on. Get used to it!

Comment Date: 5/27/2008 Name: Jack
Never get a ball drilled from the pro shop at petro bowl, unless you want a ball drilled wrong.Everything about petro is GHETTO.Something is always wrong with the lane,if your ball doesn’t come back with a big crack or chunk out of it.One of the worst bowling centers i ever been 2.

Comment Date: 2/23/2008 Name: ogea
good place with the new carpet and stuff
but every ball i have has gotten chunks taken out of them from the stuff in the back they need to maintain better

Comment Date: 2/21/2008 Name: cajun
Thankfully, the jukebox at Petro is now digital and contains hundreds of new songs from all genres. Yes, there are a lot of leagues held there, because it is the newest center Lake Charles has. (Hint, hint) They have made several renovations over the past couple of years, including the new carpet, the new scoring systems, accessories, etc. Rumor has it they are even adding another lounge area, as the current bar is SRO due to the new “No Smoking” law. It’s not the greatest center, but it’s all we’ve got. I’ve been to worse places.

Comment Date: 2/6/2008 Name: KC
They’ve put down new carpet and cleaned up a bit. New score-tracking systems are completely computerized and awesome! Can even watch tv “behind” the score on the tvs.

I dont know why no one likes this place. It is the nearest one around where i live. Lafayette is hell to drive in. I would much rather go to Lake Charles. I know my friends and I have a blast. Its what you make of it. If you go there looking at what it looks like, you will be disappointed. But, if you go to have fun, you will.

Comment Date: 3/21/2007 Name: Jamie
DESPERATELY NEEDS a good cleaning. ALWAYS packed with league bowlers, never any thing available for family. Music is old. When you can actually get in it is alright. If the weather is nice, I would go play Putt-Putt instead!!

Comment Date: 9/21/2005 Name: dwayne
There is such a terrible choice of music in the juke box, it is ridiculous. I promise you there is not a cd newer than 8 years, and the ones you can bear to actually listen to only have the cover and not the cd. I don’t think there is even one zydeco or r&b; cd there. I think a large part of the patronage is not being represented. Petro knows this and doesn’t care.

Comment Date: 9/9/2005 Name: skote
How are you supposed to do well in scratch tournaments when a lot of bowlers complain about the stupid lane conditions(mostly the oil pattern). I didn’t enjoy my games because they were low when somebody like me shoots tons of 200+ games.

Comment Date: 9/25/2004 Name: Anonymous
This is a very nice center if you are in a League… unfortunately, they tie up so many lanes for Leagues so often, that it’s not the best place to take your family. For being such a big place, we’ve been turned away the last three times we tried to go.

I’m a weekend bowler, just out for fun. Holiday Lanes is loads fun. In the last year or so, they started having different local bands on Friday nights during the glow bowling. I think the bands are local and their always good. The bar has to one of nicest in Bossier & Shreveport, they have a lot TVs with sports all the time. The cafe has good pizzas & hamburgers. The employees are friendly & helpful.

Honestly you guys should come in during the birthdays.Dee works there and she rocks..although she dont ever slow down..hint to why she is so small.I bowl there and she is always cued into the bowlers. She takes care of the league on Monday nite and it shows. She dont every get any credit much but ask her and she will say..love of us bowlers. Its a shame she isnt recognized for her hard work but we the people notice. The staff though is well rounded and goofy as all get out. They are protective of the center and strive for excellence. The food is great but high. They do need better cafe personel that are willing to stay put and take care of us instead of talking so much and hiding.
Front desk rocks. They deal with alot of bs from us but they do the best they can.High five to the owner for making the place awesome.

Holiday Lanes, great bowling center. The lanes were good, they never broke down. Ive only been bowing about nine months now, still working on my game and I bowl my best game there the other night, a 220. The people there are great, if you need help just ask them. They also have volunteer coaches that walk the lanes and help you with your game, they have helped me a lot. Holiday Lanes also has a new bar, well I think they remodeled their old bar, it is one of the best looking bars in Bossier City, several TVs and a huge projection screen and they just show sports. It looks like they are just now starting to build their bar business up after their remodel. The best thing about the bar is there is no smoking. It is hard to find a great bar with no smoking in Bossier City or Shreveport. I guess Im just rambling on, we had the best time there and Ive made it a regular place for entertainment, we go there at least once or twice a week. The hamburgers are great.

I occasionally bowl there when VW holds my car hostage in service down the road. They rates are high as a cat’s back to me, but my brain is still in the 70’s and 80’s, so forgive me please. However, they do offer a military discount that is honored for retirees. Well, they did for me anyway (thanks folks).
The staff is very friendly and the lanes are clean, but every time I was there, they were dry, dry, dry. They host quite a few tourneys there and only assume they are well dressed. Too bad they aren’t during “common folk” time, as the prices are rather…. well, I already explained that.
Did I mention how nice they are? Living down in Leesville, but originally from another place, it’s a welcome change. Remember, I’m still stuck in the 70’s and 80’s.
The food is great! I show up there in the morning hours and really enjoy the Southwest Breakfast Burritos. Hint, hint hint…
Overall, a really classy place, with a great staff. I just wish the proshop was open when I’m there. They’de make a killin’ off of me. And I’m very glad I missed the B-day parties they advertise.

Holiday Lanes, Bossier City Great bowling center, cant believe how good their remodel looks. The employees took great care of us, the service was excellent and the lanes never broke down. It seemed a bit pricey, however we did not spend any more bowling than we would have at the movies. They claim to have the best hamburger in Bossier City, I think it may actually be the best in the state. I had forgotten how much fun bowling is, we are definitely going back.

We celebrated our daughters birthday at Holiday Lanes in Bossier City, and had a great time. The party host took good care of us. The kids really enjoyed the glow bowling. The best thing for me was I did not have to clean up the mess, I really got to enjoy all the fun. Weve had other birthday parties at home that cost a lot more and were a lot more work. Happy Mom in Shreveport.

I bowled in a tournament at this house and that thought the lane condition was good. The food was excellent but a little pricey. It was very easy to find coming from out of town.

Bowling. That’s what goes on here. No Chuck-E-Cheese birthday party stuff. Just a couple of pool tables up front, but this place is truly for bowling.
The equipment is from 1963. You use score sheets and pencils. If you don’t know how to score, the people at the counter will help you. You may even like it better than the computers.
This is bowling at its basics. I found the ball return to be slightly problematic before, but it usually just requires a push of a button. Sometimes the lane just shuts off, but the button brings it back to life and the ball returns. No problem there. For being as old as it is, the lanes are quite well maintained. One weekend, the owner told me that they had just stripped them down and had USBC re certify them. When the machinery breaks down, they can still find repair parts for it, and they do! The owner is a bowler and cares very much about the place. If I lived closer to Deridder, I’d bowl there more, but I get down there every chance I can, and if you love bowling in its basic form, you need to be there too. Brings back great memories.

It modern but need work with the ball return. i got my first dents.I also wasn’t crazy about the echos, but I average 138.

This is a great place to bowl. I bowled my first 275 last week. I have never broke 250 before. Clean place and good service.

Greens Crown Lanes was a pretty good alley. I had no problem with it. The Lanes appeared to be well maintained and the service was excellent. I found the place clean and the staff attentive. Some folks should pay more attention to their bowling and less attention to false clains.

We bowled there and didnt see any bugs. The people were nice and the place was clean. We read the posts about the bugs and even looked for some with no luck. Great alley

Please vacuum your floors next time so I won’t have to see bugs running around on the floor.

Comment Date: 9/9/2005 Name: bob
I didn’t really care for these lanes because they really were just plain bad. I think they need to clean their floors better because they had a couple of insects running around when I went last time.

Bayou Bowl Comments

I agree with Erica ,I love older bowling centers where you score your own game,I used to bowl in 2 of them;both on Navy Bases .One was an AMF house, the other one was a Brunswick house, both were on the small side8-12 lanes. It’s where I started my bowlingsome 30 odd years ago. I’m now in my mid 40s {46},wish there were more bowling centers like this, they challenge you to bowl your best as the lane conditions are REAL,oiled to USBC standards {1}so the lanes are properly maintained, and {2}, so the competiton s are played with the integrity of the game is on a level playing field;everyone has an EQUAL chance to succeed /failin other words you get what your efforts show.Make a commitment to come in and practice every chance you get and seek help with your game, you can’t get help if no one knows you need it.THere’s no perfect bowler as everyone knows,EVEN the pros seek help and go to coaches;especiallly them so they can in turn help someone else. You are always learning there’s NO finish line.

I read the comment from Mr. Grigson. Mr. Grigson, I do concur with you on some points. I, too, had a party of individuals at Bayou Bowl a few days ago, both young and old. I too had some issues with Ms. Marilyn concerning the use of the lanes. The employees were somewhat considerate but I believe that comes with the age of the employees and as you well know , at times , that can present problems. We didn’t know how to score and also had Marilyn coming down several times and doing nothing. I must tell you this, as we bowled we comtinually ask for help and received none. Then a gentleman, I don’t know his name, came up to us and ask if he could be of any assistance. I ask if he worked there and he said no but if we needed any help please let him know. He would be there awhile. He helped us keep score and helped the kids trememdously. I am amazed the an individual that doesn’t even work there, would take the time to help us. He even got and paid for a drink for my son. That’s who they need working there. As we left and finally had someone check us out, They were outside smoking, all young people, which I’m not complaining just need to be more observant of the customers, I noticed the gentleman, I would guess in his 50’s or so, that helped us, was bowling a few lanes down from us. We watched him for awhile. That guy never threw anything but strikes. A young man came by and I inquired to whom he was. He said he worked at the snack bar and couldn’t remember his name but new he was a real good bowler and always went to tournaments. I told him to be sure and let the management know we thanked him very much for his help. I believe with him or people such as he around that Bayou bowl would be a much better experience. That gentleman , if he reads these, thank you very much for your help. I couldn’t figure out how he made that ball go up the gutter and strike. Oh, he turned around and said he hoped we had a great time. and to come back soon. That was pleasing . Thanks again

I have always been a fan of Bayou Bowl. Last year we had my daughters 5th birthday party there, and we all had a blast. So this past Saturday, August 2nd 2008. We had her 6th birthday party there, and the outcome couldnt have been worse. The atmosphere was hot, which could not be controlled, and was not the problem. The problem was with one of the workers, Marilyn,(who would not give us her last name). My wife and I were bothered the whole two hours by here, walking around and counting the kids at the party. We paid for 10 children, and where told that 2 year olds did not need to be counted. So we had a total of 12 kids there, 2 were 2 years old. She constanly said we were not claiming all the kids that were there, even after she counted them to be 10. She smarted off to my wife and myself, rolled her eyes at my daughter when she asked if the cookie cake was ready. When we asked her what was wrong, and why we wouldnt be back for another party, she told us that would be a good idea not to come back, and told us that they were so happy to here that. She then continued to walk up talking more and more negative things towards my wife and myself. When the party was almost over we asked for the 10 free passes that came with the package and she refused to give them to us, saying the manager said you cant have them since you had more than 10 bowlers. Needless to say this is when my wife became very upset, and she ended up giving us 14 passes, even though we only asked for the 10 we paid for. We had 2 parents refuse the passes saying they would not be back because of the way she acted and treated us as paying customers. The following monday i contacted the manager and he was shocked to hear about this, and said it was not the first problem he had had with Marilyn, and her attitude towards customers. My daughter and i love to go bowling at Bayou Bowl, and we have always enjoyed ourselves. But needless to say we will not be going back, or have anymore parties there as long as Marilyn is employeed at Bayou Bowl.

Staff at Bayou Bowl are unprofessional and very rude. Workers seem to go out of their way to be intrusive and antagonistic, and we were treated as if we were troublemakers. The facility is fine, if you don’t mind the lack of air conditioning in the middle of summer. Overall, I do not recommend that anyone go to Bayou Bowl.

I work at Bayou Bowl and yes it might need a little of work but what people have to realizie is that our bowling alley is old fashion its not one of the new up 2 date ones. You can come here and enjoy taking your own score and being able to share it with others. This is the real deal here!!!!

Bayou Bowl, as compared to other centers, is comperable to supplying well rounded entertainment as related to bowling. I have been in numerous centers around the U.S. and I have definately seen worse as related to conditions and atmosphere. The staff here does a good job supplying the customer with proper information and assisting with numerous problems acquired in any ficility. As for the scoring conditions of the house, the are adequate in nature. I have heard all types of complaints for numerous bowlers as to lane worthiness. The thing that bothers me most or should I say bothers me least is the ability of a bowler to comment on an establishment not knowing what he or she is talking about. Lane conditions vary. Yes, it is helpful to have a more improved and updated facility to compete in . BUUUUTTTTT, I have heard the same complaints in brand new centers. Bowlers are like weather, ever changing, according to their night. I once bowled in a league and was confronted by a bowler as to the oiliness of the pair in which he was bowling. I asked him what should be done that would help him score better. He proceeded to tell me that the lanes need a better break point so his ball would move to the pocket as a better rate.(What ever that meant). So, the next week, I told him I changed the shot to better accomodate him and to let me know How he scored. Well, needless to say He scored considerably better. He came up to me and thanked me for the much improved scoring condition. I told him if he had anymore problems to let me know. Not only did he never have anymore difficulties, he bowled considerably better for many weeks. So, you see conditions can make a difference. Bayou Bowl does the best they can do to accommodate the bowlers. You can only do so much with what you have to work with. If you could guarantee a 200% increase is activity of bowlers then maybe it would justify the expense needed for lane improvements. I doubt that will happen. By the way the bowler that was upset with the condition was a 190 plus bowler——-at least in that house anyway. And another thing , we never changed a thing from the beginning. It pays to listen to bowlers wheather you change anything or not. It always pays to listen. Keep bowling and remember things are not always greener on the other side of the fence. Learn to adjust. I did. Have a great bowling experience and thank you Bob Wilson.

Texas really needs to find the best talent in Texas because all of the great talent is not playing in the Bayou Bowl Game because Louisana doesn’t have more talent than Texas and we need better Coaches to Coach the game.

I like Bayou Bowl overall. The lanes need very little work and the atmosphere is great. The food is unexplainable- the Bayou Burger is a taste like no other. I am currently in a league, BBC 3, and I have alot of fun every Wednesday night and I encourage everyone to come bowl.

Ran into the old manager a few days ago. Sorry to hear the he’s not coming back. RBL was really starting to turn around with him there.
I do understand why he quit. Driving between LaPlace and Slidell is one hell of a long commute.

Comment Date: 3/27/2009 Name: Richard
When are they going to reopen the place? Hurrican Gustave was over 6 months ago! If Mac was still running the place, it would have been fixed up and running by now.
Hope they get better employees than they had before the storm. Most of them s*cked.

Comment Date: 9/4/2008 Name: Dave R.
Understand Mac resigned as the manager. Too bad. Things were starting to look up at Riverbend. I guess I take my business back to Kenner. I was looking forward to rebuilding the Tuesday night league. I was bringing four teams into it.

Recently had my kids birthday party there. For the most part it was wonderful. The party hostess was just great with the kids. The lady at the front counter was friendly and most helpful. The lady in the snack bar seemed at little grumpy and the guy that kept going behind the where the pins were was a load mouth.

I am the new manager.
First to Jeff…what took them so long to get me here? The commute. I have a 120-mile round trip every day. Please give us some more time to get everything going.
To Lester…I do care about this center. Please don’t tell anyone to not come back.

Comment Date: 2/16/2008 Name: Lester
Thanks Jeff, You sound briliant. Where were you when we needed help? You sound like you are convinced someone cares. Thats great. By the way you are no longer welcome here. Dont come back

Comment Date: 2/15/2008 Name: Bobby J.
Recently bowled there for the first time in over 3 years. Getting better! (actually thought the center had closed.) Great shot on the lanes! Sure does beat the prices that are being charged in Kenner.
However, the place looks old. It looked like all the lights were on, but those rugs on the walls are really ugly. They need to do something to brighten up the place.
Poker machines are too tight.

Comment Date: 1/19/2008 Name: Jeff
Place has gotten better since the new manager showed up but still has a ways to go. Would like to know what took them so long to get him to this center.
Notice that he wants the bar to become a “sports bar”. Got news for you, bud…two TVs does not make a sports bar! I have the same size TVs at home.
