As long as the league bowlers can bowl 1 game for free even on the weekends I think its a very fair price and a great place to bowl. The lanes are very well kept and the alley is top notch.

Comment Date: 9/6/2010 Name: ryno
Overpriced but i liked it with the hard shot.11 10pins in 5 games

Lonnie Ellerbee, you are an idiot. do not comment anymore

Comment Date: 9/24/2006 Name: Lonnie Ellerbee
So some are complaining about high prices, hum lets see if prices where lower then maybe more people would go bowl. Or, higher prices would bring in the better bowlers to play for higher rewards. Lets face it, no matter what the prices are you are there to have fun. If you feel the prices are to high then make some extra money somewhere and then come bowl. It all works out. Just like high gas prices, we complain but we still buy the gas. So just come on over and lets get the game on.
This place rocks because of the people who love to bowl here.

Comment Date: 8/2/2006 Name: Fred
The prices areare too expensive and I really don’t thing I want to go bowling again because thinking about what you have to pay takes the fun out of every thing

Comment Date: 7/14/2006 Name: Jerry
Great looking house. Especially considering what we are used to bowling on. Could you suggest what the lefties are using at your house? I bowled the LSBA tourn. recently and had a difficult time carrying. The equipment I was using was particle based coverstock and snapped very strongly at the end. I loved the house and have come down on occassions to bowl just to practice. Any suggestions on equipment? Thanks Jerry

Comment Date: 9/29/2005 Name: ash4930
This place is sooo expensive. I usually go midnight bowling with friends and whoever doesn’t want to bowl still has to pay $10. That’s just crazy! But overall, it’s a fun place to go. And a lot better than Acadiana Lanes.

Comment Date: 9/15/2005 Name: MR. Fatboy
I loved the pizza over there and I like to bowl so this is a good place to go.

I like Metro.I bowled at a tour. and I bowled my 1st 200[233].The oil was very well put.It smell fresh and the lanes rarely broke.

Comment Date: 3/19/2007 Name: Mike
Altho Metro Bowl appears to be in the ghetto, I can assure you this is a great place to take your family. We had some skeptisizm prior to going to Metro Bowl and found it to be as good as the other bowling places around town (Circle Bowl, John Carters). Due to the fact that Circle Bowl and John Carters both have league bowling all the time, Metro Bowl is the only bowling alley you can get in on week day evenings. Don’t skip out on going to Metro Bowl just because its located in the ghetto, this place is definately not warn down 🙂

I think that Metro Bowl has a great staff. Many of them are helpful, friendly and make it worth the drive for me to bowl league there.

Comment Date: 4/6/2006 Name: anonymous
Although I bowl a league at Don Carter. I like your lanes 100 times better. Wish you weren’t so far out of my zip code 🙂 Bowled city tournament there and did great! Also do no-tap there in the summer and bowl great every time.

Comment Date: 3/27/2006 Name: Anonymous
When I walked in, the place smelled like a bar. I had children with me and didn’t like that at all.

Comment Date: 2/10/2006 Name: Anonymous
Smokers need to get out when there are kid’s leagues man. My nephew bowls here and he is in the league and he has to be around smokers when he wants to bowl. Get out you stupid smokers!

Comment Date: 1/29/2006 Name: Bruce
I think that Metro Bowl has the best controlled atmosphere of all bowling alleys in Baton Rouge!!!

This place has an excellent pro shop, that is even open during the day. A big league house, it is a nice place to roll a few games during the day. The lanes are synthetic of course, and only oiled for league play. It is a gigantic place, and their house balls are even OK. The only downside is its in Kenner.

Comment Date: 4/27/2009 Name: James
I don’t know what part of the area you guys come from but the prices at this bowling alley are not any higher than the movie places and resturants. I guess if this place has extremely high prices to you then you don’t eat out or go drinkin, or shop for food. Everything here is higher than other places. Go bowl and have fun, there are no more dumps to go to for cheap.

Comment Date: 4/20/2009 Name: Tee
The food and bowling prices are extremely high.

Comment Date: 3/5/2009 Name: Casey
It looks like the last gentleman must have bought stock in AMF. LOL
You need to be upper middle class to bowl there as the prices of everything are outrages.

Comment Date: 1/22/2009 Name: Phred Bowscoe
This a great bowling center. It is very modern and clean, unlike the other center in town. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I love the food choices, and the prices are low for the caliber of food you can get. For me there isn’t another center around that even compares. I think spending a few extra dollars is worth it for the experience you get!

Comment Date: 6/30/2008 Name: David
The prices here are crazy high! I avoid any day that doesn’t start with a T.

Comment Date: 5/17/2008 Name: benny v.
Thought you guys were kidding about the prices! That place over in LaPlace is half the price.

Comment Date: 3/20/2008 Name: looking to bowl
man the prices are like a gallon of gas these days , too pricey and food over priced . very nice place but, to costly for families to go too.

Comment Date: 3/15/2008 Name: MIKE
Jeez, I didn’t know that I needed an installment loan to go bowling. Is cheaper at Slidell, Harrahan or Laplace?

Comment Date: 3/14/2008 Name: ADAM
$6 a game? Are you kidding? This is supposed to be a family fun center. Worth the gas money to go to Colonial Lanes.

Comment Date: 8/3/2007 Name: mike
bowling alley smells like dirty diapers and employees are retarded looking. smells like mushrooms and dirty cheeseburger meat.

Comment Date: 6/10/2007 Name: Thursday night bowler
I agree the lane consistency is a problem. The oil is light and spotty at best. You’d think at the prices they charge they could do a better job on lane up keep.

Comment Date: 2/18/2007 Name: Wednesday Night Bowler
The inconsistancy of lane conditions is a big problem. $5.50 a game and $2.50 for a large coke is obsurd.

Comment Date: 8/28/2006 Name: Mellisa Whitfield
too much construction and not really as friendly as one would like.

I like it. The shot needs a litte more oil but it doable. They also could take care of the center a little better. The approaches could be where u can slide on them. Overall I like it

R.watson who were the rude workers??

Comment Date: 1/7/2010 Name: R. Watson
A very nice looking place. I hate the “pay in advance concept.” But I imagine it’s becoming the norm these days. I’ve bowled there twice. The first time was no fun, but I guess I forgot about it and bowled there a second time. Now I remember and will never go there again. Someone needs to take the Saturday staff and employ them in a fish cannery, as their people skills and customer service are on par with those of a dog fight bookie.
The place appears to be as clean as you can get, but the approaches are the stickiest I’ve ever seen. I suspect some of the maintenance is improperly done and if it’s a “weekend only” condition, I point back to the Saturday staff again. Pitty…

With League and open bowling dropping all over the United States there is no money to be put back into to centers as far as updates to machines and scoring. From what I have heard about this Center they have put about $300,000 into a new scoring system a few years back and probably don’t have another $600,000 for new machines. People don’t realize how much these things cost. I’m not sure what thier rates are but we have had to go up a good bit on our league bowlers and open play just to cover payroll and day to day expenses. My Center has 32 lanes and I am sure people don’t know how much utility bills are a month, ours averages $8,500 a month. Property taxes also come into play, how many people have $35,000 extra laying around a year. All this said people don’t realize the money it cost to run a Center these days, after the bills are paid there is not really any extra money laying around to put back into the palce its almost like owning a non profit orginization.

Comment Date: 5/20/2009 Name: Justin Lambright
Growing up at this center I have seen its ups and downs. Seen it at its best and at its worse. To be completly honest its headed down hill with the workers there who dont care about the sport nor the bowling center. You have to spend money to make money and thats something that I dont see happening. Over all its still a great place to have fun except Sat night its like a day care where parents just drop their kids off and pick them up around close.

Comment Date: 1/17/2006 Name: Four Season’s Regular Bowler
When the machines keep breaking down, we should not have to pay – we should be discounted off. Every time we play our machines are always breaking down. We spend a lot of money every Friday and Sunday to play and enjoy ourselves. This center needs more mechanics or newer machines! The food is ok, not too friendly at the stand. Been overcharged several times. Great cleanup, looks great otherwise. What’s the name of the proshop there?

I liked the checkers on the ground cause it made me breakdance out in front of the lanes.

This center is missed along with all the employees.

Comment Date: 6/1/2011 Name: andre
For all those people making negative comments, let me let you in on the way it is…
Don’t blame local center management on the place needing repairs or having to show your ID in the bar (even though they know you and you are obviously old enough to drink). The whole problem has it’s roots in South Carolina. That is were the company that owns the place resides.
AND NOW YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT ANYMORE SINCE THEY DECIDED TO CLOSE THE PLACE DOWN. BETTER TO DO THAT THEN TRY TO BUILD THE BUSINESS.

Comment Date: 1/29/2011 Name: Ryno
This place needs some help. Employees are the best thing they have. Lanes have no real consistent shot and it wore out. I much rather go to petro. Everything needs to be adjusted here

this place aint what i expected. we went to petro and they was full so my friend wanted to come here i wasnt excited but went and to my surprize it was a chill center people was cool place was clean i really had a good ol time i would choose this center over petro anyday i guess u cant believe what u hear i addicted to this place now

2 thumbs up

Comment Date: 8/28/2010 Name: Anonymous
Conditions, admittedly, could be better. Same goes for its locale, but since I was raised in a similar neighborhood, what with people walking the streets and whatnot, I don’t mind at all. It’s like a second home to me. 😛
Anyway, besides employment that appears to be a tad on the scarce side, they always keep things positive. For fun with a few friends or a few games of serious practice for you league bowlers, I do highly recommend a go there, especially if you want a location for a good party. I’ve bowled whilst the entire second half of the building was full with one kid’s birthday and everyone left extremely happy with how things had gone. By all means, give it a try.

Comment Date: 3/19/2010 Name: Katherine Malbrough
I must say this facility needs to be brought up to date.
We did have a large group with us and we were a little “rowdy” as it was our daughter in laws birthday but I must say the staff had great personalities and that really made a difference to us we had the best time we had as a family in 10 years I highly recommend this alley if you are looking for clean family fun I would also like thank the staff for there paitence

Great place

Comment Date: 12/8/2009 Name: Sandra
I must say after everthing I heard about this center I was kinda scared to go but considering the large group we had and the great special they were running we decided to give it a try. I must say we had a great time. I have always been a petro customer but now I will be reconsidering this place is nothing like i have heard My family and I all enjoyed our visit.

Comment Date: 11/11/2009 Name: Anonymous
why the owners of this center never show up or try to talk to the customers i am sure that their investment does not matter, they are probably 10 million dollar owners and do not care about the small people that helped them from the beginning

Comment Date: 10/23/2009 Name: Linda
I read all the previous comments and totally agree the manager needs to make big improvements in this center everything in there is really outdated. It is a clean facility but very outdated. I recently had a birthday party here and was very happy the manager did make sure we had a awesome time and had alot of patience with my group she has great people skills but really needs to devote time into bringing this center up to 2009 her choice in colors was different kinda strange but overall I really enjoyed my visit and would come back here over petro anytime

Comment Date: 9/24/2009 Name: jaweena
sorry to dissapoint some but this center is in for arude awakening, the manager of this center is out for her funds only she does not care about repairs or the customers ,the owners of this establishment should come forward and take care of their investment, because the manager charges the few leagues triple or 4 times what should be paid she is never there ,never try to update, never try to keep customers happy it could be a great place for bowling entertainment but they need some one who wants it to be a better place and increase the profits honestly.

Comment Date: 7/21/2009 Name: long time bowler
IDing in the bar is out of control I have bowled at this center since 1984 and now have to show my id for a been I am 57 years old. Who makes the rules. I will nolonger be drinking beer here maybe even moving my team to petro I know i am not the only one

Comment Date: 5/29/2009 Name: Kathy Powell
I bowl on two leagues during the fall, Tuesdays and Fridays. I have to bring my 2 year old grandaughter. If the nursery will no longer be open i do not know if i can bowl or not. Please consider leaving it open.

Comment Date: 5/11/2009 Name: William
they have 4 walls and a roof and that is about it. They need to change everything under the roof. The only reason I still go is they are actually nice to their customers which is more than I can say for Petro. If Petro would Fire their employees and hire sports centers it would be a kick butt bowling alley.

Comment Date: 5/8/2009 Name: mom of 5
I am really upset to find that there will be no more daycare at this bowling center. They will lose alot of bowlers.

Comment Date: 5/8/2009 Name: Sheila
When I first came to bowl here I wasnt sure by the looks of it, but the people seemed nice enough so I gave it a try. The only reason I left Petro Bowl was b/c yall have day care. Know I find out that there will be no more daycare after this season. I am very dissapointed ! I have been bowling for 6 yrs now and love it, but I have twin boys ( age 3 ) and if there is no more daycare I wont be able to bowl anymore. This is my second year here and have been bowling two days a week, for those of us with kids this looks like the end of the line. There will be alot of people leaving the leages if we cant get it back. I really hope there is something that can be done.I hate to leave !

Comment Date: 5/8/2009 Name: kurt
This place needs alot of help ! REMODEL !! Nice place to be over all, good people, but building needs lots of help. A good scrub down, maybe some new carpet and tile would be a nice step forward

I have been very shocked by the transformation of this center I quit bowling at sports center 3 years ago and heard from other bowlers the changes that have been made I decided to go back as an open bowler and have been very pleased with the changes. I plan on going back as a league bowler in he fall keep up the good work

It is easy to clean a Bowling Alley if you never
have anyone in the place. Petro Bowl always have
plenty of customers to interact with, but Petro
is always clean.

Center.

Petro Bowl has great birthday party packages for my kids. They are one of the cheapest in town and most family’s don’t mind going to petro bowl for the parties so i have the best turnout. They have updated the center with new carpet and scoring system which makes it the best place in town.

Comment Date: 5/29/2008 Name: Donald
Every time i have tried to go to sport center for our company lunch this center has been closed. Petro Bowl has always been open with nice employees who have helped us in anyway possible. The guy at the desk even helped with my bowling some. Sport Center is in a very bad location which makes me to scared to bring my kids there. Petro bowl is more of a family environment for my kids.

Decent lane conditions usually. Always have lanes available (That alone makes it better than Petro Bowl). Employees are more mature and not just a bunch of punk kids like Petro Bowl. It’s even cleaner. It has a ton of potential to be an awesome place but I think they are just in a bad location.

Acadiana Lanes Comments
Comment Date: 7/6/2011 Name: Bowling News
It seems no matter what, these competitors, will complain about something. Lane conditions, new bowling balls that just came out, pinsetters, other teams, center employees, concession food/drink. Well, what is with all the anger ??? Maybe this is why people are not coming into leagues and tournament entries are down. Better attitudes about the sport and a little fun would attract casual bowlers back to the sport.

Needs to be more league bowler friendly, but opening up the lanes so more 300 can be bowled
is not the solution.

Comment Date: 9/11/2005 Name: bob
The lane pattern needs to change because we need more 300’s at this bowling alley.

It seems bob and joe spend their time leaving negative comments about bowling alleys. Disregard the comments, They are children without supervision.

Comment Date: 9/15/2005 Name: joe
I think they need to clean their lanes better because I ran my finger across the lane and it was very dirty. So when I come back please have the lanes clean.

Comment Date: 9/5/2005 Name: bob
I think they need to invest in better quality lanes.
