I think that SDII is a nice center. The staff is helpful and the lanes are plentiful. The kitchen/cafe gals work hard and make home cooked food that I wish more people would appreciate. As the host of the Youth State tournament as well as the Men’s State tournament in 2008 has proven that the center is worthy and can accomdate a large volume of people from all areas. Please treat people with respect-it will be given back ten fold.

Comment Date: 10/18/2007 Name: Marlon Johnson Gary Ind
The lane conditions at this Stardust bowl are terrible, the center is dirty and the staff not very knowledgeable about anything. perhaps if the staff spent more time focusing on their jobs and less time talking on cell phones they could make this a better place to bowl. Its to bad, years ago this was the premiere place to bowl, not anymore.

Nicole, sorry for your bad experience with getting a water! I would welcome a phone call to discuss this with you. Thanks!

Comment Date: 4/18/2011 Name: Nicole
Nice facility but unfortunately the staff is very unprofessional. The manager of the restaurant/bar as well as the bartender were absolutely rude and very slow. It took me 15 minutes to get water because the bartender decided the dishes were more important than my order. I will never do business here again and I will share this experience with as many people as I can. This was the worse service EVER!

Comment Date: 4/1/2011 Name: ME
Wow has this place changed the past year!!! Scores are awesome and the league never has to move.. The machines run very well now..

Comment Date: 4/1/2011 Name: Roxane
We do appreciate our league bowlers very much. We have had ALOT of 300 this year! So many that they we had to squeeze more on the honor board! I personally would like to apoligize for the delay of updating the scores on the website, however they are posted at the center weekly!

Comment Date: 4/1/2011 Name: Pete
Signature Lanes is the nicest bowling alley in the area. Its always CLEAN and the STAFF is great! Prices are VERY good also!

Comment Date: 3/22/2011 Name: Mitch Hoggard
I would like to hear from Maxine Lee Tarpley. Her father taught me to bowl in the early 60’s in Orland & Corning. I believe this is the same Cliff if Maxine has a sister Linda. I live in Chico, Ca and can be found in the phone book. Maxine I also remember you. You might remember my brother Major.

Comment Date: 3/3/2011 Name: Anonymous
Did you ever notice that they keep their website up to date on the bar and restaurant…yet do nothing to keep the bowling sections up to date??? Come one…didn’t someone break the house record??? They do not care about league bowlers…never will!

Comment Date: 12/23/2010 Name: Anonymous
Seriously, I would be surprised if this really happened. It would be great news. It would take someone ready to make an investment in new pinsetters and lanes. Can’t keep putting lipstick on the pig!

Comment Date: 12/18/2010 Name: bob
No have not heard about this as of yet– but as you say THIS WOULD be great that someone really wants to actually “owned and manage on site” this is a beatiful center– the BEST one in the county in my opinion–it really needs somebody with heart and experience I think it would surive and flourish nicely and be family oriented.

Comment Date: 12/14/2010 Name: birddog 4
rumor is from the other centers in town that a couple from the mid west experienced in bowling center management and real long term ownership is looking at Signature, also having one of the best proshop operator in the mid west coming also. this would be great it is it true. Anyone else hear this?

Comment Date: 11/24/2010 Name: Sweet
Would love to hear from Maxine Lee, Cliff Tarpley’s daughter. My email address is: {Sorry, no personal email addresses allowed – B2U Staff}.

We love to bring our family to Signature! The staff is nice and helpful and the food is awesome!

Comment Date: 8/11/2010 Name: Anonymous
Changes, Changes, Changes…must be another bowling season at Signature! Bowlers should give the other houses a chance whose owners actually care about them by being there!!!

Comment Date: 1/24/2010 Name: maxine lee tarpley
cliff tarpley is my dad and he and don carter taught me to bowl in eureka calif in 1950s he left use in early 60s he was the best he also bowled 300 in bustas in orland out of corning he could bowl and drill a ball like no other he could also fix alleys then they were hard wood love you dad miss you so much max

Comment Date: 10/21/2009 Name: Scott
Everyone please stop this stuff. We need people to support bowling in Elkhart. This is a great sport and activity for everyone. Each center in Elkhart/Goshen has something to offer. I encourage you to try the different houses for league bowling.

Comment Date: 10/11/2009 Name: Andy1
Patty and her husband own the pro shop and are the couple trying to buy Signature. So I appreciate your correction. So I will restate, “Why do the people buying Signature Lanes feel the Scratch Leage needs an extra $1000 prize fund, with 8 teams and our mixed league on the same night which always has more teams gets nothing?” This information came from Signature’s website and is now deleted along with the flyer!

Comment Date: 9/30/2009 Name: Anonymous
Signature Lanes ROCKS! They have great prices, great food, a big arcade and nice employees. I think its the best bowling center in Elkhart! I am a regular customer and I must say the whole center is so much better than it has been in a long time.

Comment Date: 9/29/2009 Name: Roxane
To set the record straight….Bowler’s Edge Pro Shop located inside Signature Lanes is sponsoring the league this year. Andy, why don’t you talk to Patty Ann, she will be glad to explain it to you.

Comment Date: 9/23/2009 Name: andy1
Was wondering why our league did not get $1000 for its prize fund from the owners? Are scratch bowlers just better customers?

Comment Date: 8/26/2009 Name: andy1
What the research shows is that the current managers try to buy centers, then back out after so many months. Beware this has happened with these two people in South Bend and Merriville.

Comment Date: 8/19/2009 Name: andy1
check out this site about the new managers – how long do you think they will stay. your league should think twice before going there.b {**Note -Sorry – We can’t allow this link – B2U Staff}

Sounds like another change in management at Signature. Is that the Signature way? Why all the changes every year? League bowlers are getting tired of this stuff. Who can we believe?

Comment Date: 4/28/2009 Name: Lori
The bowling center is top notch with great pricing through the week and specials on the weekends. Very family friendly with great bowling lessons available. Nice proshop with great guy who has been in bowling across the country forever. The staff has alot of bowling knowledge and background. Good food in the resturant and snack bar. They also have a full bar seperate from the center with kitchen. Beer on tap with mixed drinks available. We were recently in the bar after bowling and had a awesome time. New staff and manager at the bar and they also have a D.J playing request music every Fri. and Sat. nite. I give it a thumbs up. Had a great time and will be back again. Also heard they will be doing some special events this summer.

Comment Date: 2/25/2009 Name: mike
Anyone passing bad comments about this place is ridiculous. All bowling alleys have high prices, which is why anyone with common sense will go during the times it only cost a dollar per game. This facility holds one of the top ball drillers and instructor in the country and they have great lanes. If you’re going to post a negative comment, don’t BASE it off of your personal opinion. Base it off of the facts.

Comment Date: 2/15/2009 Name: Impressed
This place is serious about bowling! Lessons are great and they now have the best pro shop around. Look forward to bringing my team there next season.

Comment Date: 5/19/2008 Name: mp
Too bad people can’t associate good scores with good bowling anymore! And don’t even get me started on business ethics!!

Comment Date: 4/25/2008 Name: Me
Priced way too high!!!! Rainbo is much better. Also, alot of drama takes place in the bar and the parking lot. Looking fo a fight, then go there.

Comment Date: 12/25/2007 Name: Anonymous
The place gets better every day! Scott and his staff really care about the bowlers.

Inman’s mistreats their employees. I second the post below mine.

All they preach is Family, Family, Family. Then 4 days before Christmas they lay off employees cause they can’t afford to pay them, but they can afford to PAY a live band to play in the bar. Yep, that’s FAMILY alright.

Broadview Bowl Comments

Where do I start??? From the moment you pull into the parking lot of this place be careful, you may damage your vehicle with the huge potholes (will definately need an alignment after). Upon entering you will notice the alley itself with the purple/smoke stained and I think red/smoke stained walls that could really use a fresh coat of paint since the place went non-smoking (Sept. 2011). Approach the counter and roll the dice on whether the employee has had a bad day or not and is going to make sure you know it by the time you walk away. They are very unfriendly and rude. The motto “The Customer is Always Right” DOES NOT APPLY here. After getting your 1960 era bowling shoes grab something from the snack (deep fried) bar, which actually is the least amount you will probably spend here. Although, I don’t recommend the soda (I don’t think they’ve never cleaned their syrup lines) because it is usually too sweet and has a strange taste.
Time to bowl… Hope you get a lane (50/50 chance) that doesn’t have some kind of frequent malfunction and also a working screen to keep track of your score. Only bring one child and hope there aren’t too many more there as they seem to only have 2 bowling balls for kids and strictly regulate who can use them. My niece was 10 and they made her use an adult ball because she might crack one of the children’s balls???
The management and employees (it’s a family affair) should be glad there is only one option for bowling in Bedford or else this place would be out of business. OVERALL THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!
Did I forget to mention the manager is rude and racist??

Comment Date: 6/12/2008 Name: Anonymous
Since no one has commented on the place for 2 years I thought that I would. Broadview Bowl has come a long way. The staff is GREAT and the lanes are new!! They are always adding new things and trying different things. The bowling alley is still a lot of fun to go out and have fun with family and friends!!

Comment Date: 10/30/2006 Name: Jay Williams
Our visit to Broadview was a scream. Great lanes, excellent food, trained staff but a little too smokey. Should consider accommodating non-smokers somehow.

Comment Date: 3/20/2006 Name: anonymous group
This place is getting worse every year. The management s*cks here, all they care about is the Cosmic Bowling. They don’t care about the league bowlers whose hard earned money keeps them in business. If someone would open up another bowling center this place would close for sure!

Comment Date: 2/6/2006 Name: Penny Pierce
My whole family and I love to bowl, but can no longer frequent Broadview Bowl due the the endless smoking of workers and customers alike. The air is so thick with smoke I cannot breathe and neither can my husband or kids. Bowling is a great hobby and also has health benefits but not in an enviroment like this one….There have been several people I have talked to that have complained about the same thing. Until something is done about this we will all be doing our business in Bloomington.

The Area your talking about on the southside of the bowling alley is not owned by us its owned by the hotel, we have asked the city to have them clean it up, But thanks for checking us out, and Saturday night we had 200 bowler for RocknBowl/ Cosmic Best And As far as our Help We have the Best in town..If you want over priced Bowling then please go to the other center named…

Comment Date: 4/28/2012 Name: Outdoors Not Appealing
The outside of this facility looks like a dump. Actually it IS a dump! Look at the South parking lot. You will find a pile of dumped tires, an old couch that’s been there at least 2 years, discarded asphalt cans, old auto parts, broken glass. Go in and ask them to cleanup the south parking lot which they own!

The place smells, the food is greasy, and apart from all of that the setup is cheap. It was back to 1980 for me. All of the dopehead people working there are snobby. Didnt feel at home. If your looking for a good place to go cosmic, clancies is good, but has higher prices.
not going here again

I would like to thank David Slaven for opening half hour early on Saturday Aug 13th. so I could set up for our employee party tons of fun, If your wanting to do a party go see them. We will be back soon Thanks again

Comment Date: 2/10/2011 Name: Capt. America
Munsee Lanes is probably one of the best bowling centers in Delaware county. If you want fair prices, this is the place to go. The pro shop owners are always offering lower prices than other shops in town and usually offer some kind of discount.
The shot is one of the toughest but best shots in town. It gives bowlers the experience that they would experience in tournaments unlike the inflated scores offered by Liberty Bowl. Liberty makes you feel good about your scores but when you bowl at other places, you see that your skill is not what it should be.
Their cosmic bowling is nice and roulette is steadily increasing. Cosmic is now almost full on Saturday nights and is at a great price. $5 for 2 hours and includes shoes. It’s great family fun! My family enjoys it every week!
Overall, it’s a fantastic family center. I have never had any problems with the new employees and management. They are always courteous, kind, and willing to help out. As long as Tony Phillips and David Slaven run the show, I will continue to come back and give them my support.
My only complaint is that they need to have some younger workers there and synthetics would be nice but everyone has their opinion.

Comment Date: 12/26/2010 Name: *deathek
This place is iconic, Muncie has few iconic buildings, and establishments left.. Like everything else with aging, it still might need some work; and no matter were you go there are a***oles and d***heads. BUT, the pro’s of this place far out weigh the cons. I’ve been in this place since i had to stay in the kid center while my parents bowled in there league. i’ll continue to go back here and only here for a long time to come.

Comment Date: 10/5/2010 Name: Troy
I have bowled at Tower/Munsee lanes for a long time, There is one thing about this place they have made some changes and from what I see the changes are good. Atleast they are tring to do little thing. The place is cleaner then it has been in years. They also have some new employees that are givin it a fresh look.

Comment Date: 9/29/2010 Name: Honest Abe
Are you serious this center has only one good thing going for it and it is Paul! This center truely is a low class facility that struggles to stay alive and now has the management style of a low end porn store. The enviroment of the center is well below par and for those who decide to spend his or her hard earned money at a bowling center I would hope that you ask for a discount and leave Paul a tip!

Comment Date: 8/21/2010 Name: Munsee Lanes’s Little Girl <3
ok i agree with the people who support this place. the people who work there are like family to me and they are very nice.i have been at Munsee Lanes since i was .
muncie /anderson bowler “the lady at desk” is only rude to people who are rude to her and the lane conditions are perfectly fine.

Everything was typed as I wanted them to be…You keep shooting 300’s… mrs and averageing 220-225 at those easy houses, then come to Munsee Lanes and average about 195-205….its easy to talk (deleted) and hide on here. or behind the counter at Village Bowl..

In reply to joe bowler: First off, congrats on your attempt for a “comeback” post! Secondly, you give Mr. 300 the upper hand by the way you type and spell! mrs should be Mrs, thats should be that’s or that is, Oil should be oil, dont x2 should be don’t or do not!! SPELL CHECK!!!
P.S Munsee Lanes s*cks and that’s all there is to it!!

Wow I bowled TKO on the 19th and was in the proshop and the prices was better than the proshops in my home town of Anderson I bowl at Coopers most of the time and Mike Riggens prices are really high my Dad bought me a Venom Drill grips and thumb slug 199.00..It would have cost me like 230-240 at Coopers…And the shot was great all day the guys and gals behind the desk was great all day..The proshop did ball and bag drawings all day long….See you next year…

The worst area in muncie, lady at desk very rude, and lane conditions just as bad. Wouldnt utilize pro shop because I have trusted the same person for years in Anderson. He now is in Muncie at the Village Bowl. His prices are fair and the Village is much larger and cleaner.

As of this Bowling Season the bowling center and Proshop are both under New Managment…The Center has 40 Wood lanes. The new owner and worker work hard every day to keep the place looking good for for the bowlers…They have a great youth bowling program every Saturday morning as well as very good high school bowling program the girls team has placed in the state finals each of the last four years, and the boys and girls both place in my First year of coaching them in 2003-04 season a first for Indiana bowling history…For a boys and girls team to make it to the finals from the same school….The Proshop has the best prices in the area. All new balls are below retail..

Bowled there in Moose International Tournament in March 2007. Staff friendly and helpful, overall very clean, all prices (food, bar and open play) very reasonable. During our 3 game set we had one stop, which was a pin setup.

I will drive the extra 10 miles to go to Clancy’s if I come to Muncie to bowl. The place is a dump, in bad area of town. Lane conditions are horrid and I agree with the 1st comment….the parking lot would have a better lane condition. New Owners couldnt care less about customers.

I would bowl in a parking lot before I would bowl at this place again. Needs to be by someone that can run a bowling center the way it should be run.

Trying to speak with a proprietor is almost impossible. I need to speak to them regarding our So Indiana Travelers League —- need to talk by end of this week — I’ve been trying for 2 weeks. Hope this gets a call back

The owners there are two of the best people you will ever meet. If you ever have a problem they are right on top it to fix it and to help you have a good time and enjoy yourself. This bowling alley is non-smoking and doesnt serve alcohol which are two of the best things that could ever happen in a bowling alley. The prices are great and the food and service are awesome.

The prices may not be bad, but whoever the guy is answering the phone is and running the counter is quite rude. If you hate your job QUIT! Bottom line!
