I have been going to Bowlerama for many years. I have bowled in their leagues and open bowl on
Friday and Saturday nights. I have had my child’s birthday party there and have never saw any problems. It is very clean and they have a staff that makes you feel welcome. To the person that said it is a war zone-you must have bowled bad that night.

Comment Date: 12/5/2009 Name: James
The prime time rates $4.50 per game per person are beyond silly; a family cannot go there unless they are well off. Yes, the off-peak time rates are much better, but for most of us, we are making a living during those times.

I’ve bowled at Bowlerama for two of there biggest tournaments the Rhodman in March and the DC’s Finest in July. This has always been one of my favorite spots. Adding the Dunkin Donuts, Spare Ribs X-Press Restaurant and the new Sports Bar was a thing of beauty. There is one mor thing they need to do to make the renovation complete: Get new Synthetic Lanes!!!

Date May 3, 2009, Bowlerama is the best family fun and safe place to bring , your family and little ones to. I haven’t been to a bowling center in years, and I was highly impressed.I had a terrific time.

Comment Date: 3/2/2009 Name: Jim
Best bowling alley I’ve been to in the past 2 years in northern Delaware and SE Pennsylvania. Easily the best pro shop around. Unfortunately it’s not in a terrific area. Millions of dollars have been put into the food and kid areas; they should replace the worn out., almost unreadable overhead monitors.

Since Bowlerama has renovated basiccly the entire building THIS IS THE BEST CENTER IN DELAWARE PERIOD. The best prices, new restaraunt, new sports bar, and Dunkin Donuts also. THIS IS THE TOTAL FUN CENTER IN DELAWARE

This bowling alley is in a war-zone. Why would I want to go somewhere I might wind up dead!

i have been bowling on bowleramas youth league. it is so much fun to be there and play in our brandnew kidzone. the staff is so nice. and it is very clean. the food is pretty awsome and the prices are very good.

Comment Date: 9/16/2007 Name: Lee
Bowlerama is by far the best bowling center around. The staff is very pleasant and the center is clean. We had a party there and it was just perfect- everthing was taking care of and my son still talks about it. When the kids have a day off they always want to go to Bowlerama- we always have a great time. Keep up the good work.
The prices are good- which is why we go often.

I’m relatively new to Delaware. When my mom came to visit for a week, Bowlerama’s Glow Bowling was one of the activities I planned to attend. We had a great time and the staff was extremely helpful. I plan to become a regular and may even join a bowling league.

Bowlerama is by far the best center in Delaware
We had our child’s birthday party there and it was just perfect. My son still talks about it- and says he wants it there every year. It is just beautiful,we were pleased it was so clean. We have gone there a lot since then – they do have the best prices. The girls at the counter were very pleasant – let’s just say it is our families favorite place to go.

Why don’t you post the weekly standings of the various leagues that bowl in your establishment.
Visit the site ‘firststatelanes.com’ and you will see the variety of selections they offer. They post weekly standings, etc. for the leagues that bowl there.

Place seems to have a nice friendly atmosphere to it. Enjoy bowling tournaments here. Does seem to be getting a bit outdated. Computer scoring systems really need to be updated. Pins sound really worn out when my ball hits em too.

Comment Date: 12/30/2009 Name: momo
I have gone to seaford bowling lanes ever since i was a little girl and everyone has been very kind. I have been taught to bowl by the owner and he is very nice and anyone who has had a problem there might want to go to him and tell him because i know he would be the one to fix it!

Comment Date: 9/2/2009 Name: Oldtimer
I noticed a couple of commenters say that the pro shop needs to stay open longer. With my experience and everyone else’s that I noticed, you just have to talk to someone at the control counter and they’ll be more than happy to let you in to the pro shop and help you find what you need at any time the building is open, except if you need a ball drilled, apparently. I haven’t personally haven’t had one drilled their, but I believe you need to set up an appointment for that.
And about the comment on the rude snack bar treatment, in my experience, this has come from one particular employee, so you’re not guaranteed to get said rude service during the day shift. That certainly doesn’t make it okay, though. A bad employee is still the fault of the business.
Okay, enough about other’s comments. I’ve been going to the Seaford Lanes for a few years, and the overall experience is good. The machines are quite old and do show it, but problems are infrequent and are usually fixed in a timely matter. When I bowl, I have a fun time, and so does anyone one I’m with.
As for the snack bar, I do agree that it’s rather overpriced. Come for the bowling. If you get terribly hungry, the snack bar has a nice selection, but be prepared to pay a lot.

Comment Date: 7/6/2009 Name: Anonymous
Great time today bowling with the kids out of school for summer. They did not charge me for shoes for the kids and my shoes were 0only $2.50. They also only charged $2.50 per game per child and my games were $2.75! The kids and I had a great time!

Comment Date: 2/23/2009 Name: Anonymous
Front end staff very warm and friendly. Lanes & equipment are aging but overall not a bad place to bowl. Prices are a little high at $3.95 per person, per game. Snack counter is WAY overpriced. Pro Shop is very reasonably priced & very helpful. Longer Pro Shop hours (past 5 pm) would be better. Only 3 nights per week without leagues but that’s roughly in line with other area lanes.

Comment Date: 4/25/2006 Name: Anonymous
the control counter was very pleasant to deal with and helpful. on the other hand the day shift snack bar help seemed to be very rude and didnt want to wait on you it was such a big problem to perform their duties

Comment Date: 10/29/2005 Name: johnnyfive
Over the last 10 years or so this place has really fallen apart. Trouble with the back end and its age. The pro shop needs to be open to the public 6 days a week from 10 to 6 or 7. Could get more business. Need to watch the prices on food stuff, serve the people not rob them. Thanks

Millsboro has a nice shot. They have quite a few 300 games and 800 series. They also have staff that will take the time to help bowlers improve through classes. Want to get better? Give them a call.

Great place. Proshop staff was great and extremely knowledgeable. Owner drilled me and my wifes ball right in front of us and took the time to make minor adjustments after we tried the balls. Lanes are good. I really like this place because it has that old school bowling alley feeling to it, unlike most of the new bowling centers that make you feel like your at AstroLand.
Food counter was very curtious and good quick food. The free ice water is a very nice touch.

Comment Date: 7/8/2010 Name: Bob
Millsboro Bowling Lanes is a great place for families to go and have fun. Service is great….. except for one certain somebody. All she does is sit around and eat and talk. It always takes her 5-10 min to get her lazy butt out of her chair and walk to the counter to see what you want to eat. But other than that I love Millsboro bowling lanes. 4.5/5

The Millsboro Lanes are a great family alley. The customer service is great and everything is given with a smile. It is a nice small town establishment and fits in perfect with the town! I take my daughter bowling there regularly. Thanks for providing great service and quality!

Thanks sk8board dude – sounds like it’s not really a bowling alley…4 lanes??? Next time I’m down that way I’ll see if I can find it and check it out though. Again, thanks!

Comment Date: 9/2/2009 Name: sk8board dude
Nancy, I know what u mean. I looked for that place 10 years ago. but be warned it is only 4 lanes and is probably private?? . Heading south on some road (i forget which) into delaware city, then make a right , its at the end of sir thomas lane. small building. once u get inside theres 2 doors. go to the left door. i peeked inside and saw the 4 lanes. but no one there. i cant guarnatee it would have computer scoring (didnt see any) . my guess is maybe its a municipal alley so call the city hall. otherwise Ur best bet is go to blue hen lanes in newark or pleasant hills. or price lanes

I have spent a lot of time trying to locate this bowling alley. I live in Bear, DE, near Delaware City where this bowling alley is “supposed” to be located. I have called the listed phone number several times – no one answers – no voice mail – no recording saying the number is no longer in service, etc. I drove to Delaware City this morning looking for this bowling alley and could not find it. In a google search (or the phone book)there is no street address listed for this bowling alley making it impossible to find. If this bowling alley wants people to bowl there, they need to list a street address and/or answer their phone!

I recently rolled at Pleasant Hill Lanes for the Rhodman Singles Tournament in March. The people were very courteous and kind. The lanes were in great shape. I just wish it was slightly bigger. The only complaint that I have is the entrance.

I learned how to bowl here. I’m new to the sport. But, the past 2 years, I’ve bowled at many, many, many houses. This one has a great oil pattern. The staff at the Pro Shop are truely awesome!!! I won’t shop anywhere else for balls or equipment. Most of them know everything about bowling. (as long as you are patient…)
I bowl league here. I have to say, that they should take care of thier league bowlers and not push them away with outrageous prices! I refuse to bowl here outside of league or tournament play. I bowl in every tournament they hold, but I don’t pratice here. In the winter, their rent-a-lane Sun. morning is a good deal. But that’s it. You’ll find no other good deals here.

This bowling alley is one of the best in Delaware. 2 bucks a game and free shoes(under 18), that is really awesome.

Comment Date: 2/2/2004 Name: Anonymous
Their prices are the best around. Shoes are free for anyone under 18 and probably less than $2 is you are older than 18. Also their snack bar has many tasty things to eat. Their prices for food are also very competive.

Today was the first time i’ve been to Delaware in 10 years, and this bowling alley is the best!!! the staff was excellent top notch. the games during the day were 1.29, which is unheard of these days!!! the place was very clean and well kept. great pin action too. and though i started out paying for 4 games, i ended up only playing 2 Because i ran out of time. they willingly refunded the unused money (which i’m sure a lot of other places wouldn’t do). I can not emphasize it enough, this is the best customer service every bowler dreams of receiving. Wish it was closer to home. For an otherwise extremely stressful day i had, thanx Brunswick!!!! – this place was the highlight of today; an OASIS.

My mom bowls on a league at this bowling alley. I usually go in with her and i think it is just so great. They even have open lanes during the league, so i can bowl while i am waiting for my mom to get done bowling. they have a special every sunday that is 99cents per game. i love it. the staff is very friendly and it is always clean.

I have been bowling here every week in December, friendly staff. Pro Shop is under new managment and they are very helpful. I have yet to see any cleanliness issues.

Comment Date: 12/14/2007 Name: JW
I bowl a league here, and we have problems with cleanliness. It’s a frequent thing to have open bowlers bowling on freshly oiled lanes for the league, to have candy and soda all over the place behind the approaches, and occasionally dirt and “sticky substances” on the approach. They only oil between 10-and-10, and it’s not a great shot. The people making these decisions also bowl there and are customizing the shot to their advantage, not laying an even and competitive shot for everybody. Personally, I’d give it a 3/10.

Comment Date: 11/9/2007 Name: Ashley
Brunswick Doverama is great!!!! I always get a lane when I want one, the place is really neat and clean, the staff is friendly and they have balls that actually work for me b/c they have a wide variety of balls… I recommend this site for everyone, all ages, because you’re not going to find any better bowling alley around 🙂

I think Doverama is a great bowling alley. The staff is usually very friendly and they offer great customer service. Since Dover Bowl decided to close, Brunswick did everything they could to get as many people a time to bowl as possible.

This facility was dirty, most of the lanes were not functional and the staff was rude. We used to frequent these lanes in the past, but no more. We will travel to Middletown for the excellent facility there.

28 dollars for 3 people to play 1 game is very expensive. Other then the price, no complaints!

A very sad day yesterday for me at Price lanes. I did bowl 2 games and it was fun. Bowled a 99 with 2 spares and a 113 with 5 spares, but I hate to say this but i’m never coming back here again. Me and a couple other people there had to wait at least 10 minutes for the lady to come to the desk so that we could order our bowling games and shoe rental. On top of that, only half of the video games in the arcade were actually working…the other games were only halfway plugged in and to me that’s a safety hazard. On top of that there were about a dozen kids there yesterday and I’m just breathing a huge sigh of relief and thanking God that they did not wander into that unsafe arcade there. Service was terrible as the lady there kept taking break after break. Thanks for reading my comment about this place. Hope you have a better day than I did here yesterday. 🙁

I have to say that this place is one of the most expensive places to bowl. It also has the worst shot that I’ve ever bowled on. There doesn’t seem to be many machine breakdowns, but the oil pattern is just so unusual compared to everywhere else. It would be worth the money if the shot was better and more of a league pattern. I must also add that the staff does a great job in making sure that you have everything as far as food and drinks.

to answer in the know’s question,
I have no clue? Why dont you just act your age and grow up. Does it make yourself feel better to put others down? Just live life and let others live theirs.

U should talk about being mature! On the Pike one u say something about eric not being mature, well look at u on here! And as for Price getting another reject, haha i have to laugh at u there! Because it seems to me ur calling Tom a reject too! And if Tom’s such a reject why is Steve calling him to fix stuff? I’ll leave it with that

if anyone has any complaints about this center or any amf center, call 1-800-dial-amf.the person(s)you want to talk to are either, greg nichols,,or mike mckinley.these are the ones that deal with amf centers daily day to day operations.my advice, mike mckinley is the one of the two if you want something done.

I’ve been bowling at this alley for a few years and each year it seems that not only do they put money into making it better, but customer service is getting better.

Comment Date: 7/5/2006 Name: George
Staff is very rude, when i told them the machine was not working they told me to go back to my lane and it would be taken care of. 15minutes went by, I asked them if we could move. girl behind counter told me to stop bothering her and to go back to my lane. She was very rude to me. When I called and asked to speak to a manager, A women came to the phone, when I told her about this, she told me It was impossible this happen. After a long discussion she made me feel I was just imaging everthing.

Staff was unprepared for a birthday party scheduled in advance. Management made promises that they did not fulfill before and after the fact. Party started a 1/2 hour later than the booked time.

Havent visited this alley in a couple of years. People who judge a business because of one bad news reporting are close minded and easily influenced. I’m gonna start coming again to support a local business and have great fun.

Tonight was my first time at your establishment. I went with my friends Pete & Marie. We all live in PA, but we were having dinner at Applebee’s across from Concord mall and decided to bowl in Delaware. Your plave was very neat and the staff were helpful and informative. We each bowled 3 games and had a wonderful time. Next time we want to bowl, we will definitely come back to your place.

I bowl in a league at First State and we just started back this week. It looks awesome! Love the carpet. Everything looks new and fresh. I also saw myself on the monitor as I walked in the door and the sign that says “Smile you are on camera 24/7.” Great idea in this day and age. Keep up the good work.

You can tell that the people who write comments about a shooting that happened once in thirty years must live in a cave. Where have you been. First State is not in a war-zone, I go there with my family frequently and feel very safe. There are shootings everywhere…in shchool, banks and even Wendys. The person that shot the guy knew him and came there for that purpose. It wasn’t some random shooting like at Wendys. talk about what you know. I guess ignorance is bliss, huh?

Comment Date: 3/24/2008 Name: Not a Kermit fan
The only bowling center where if you ask how is the shot, you may get a response to just duck when the bullets come flying. It’s not the fault of ownership that this place is in a war-zone location.

Comment Date: 3/6/2008 Name: bowlingfan1927
Do I really want to bowl here? Do they rent bullet-proof vests like rental shoes. I don’t want to die having fun 🙁

scot buddy,, i dis agree with you very strongly you’ll find a nice shot with a lot of competition at pleasant hill lanes inc

First state is the cleanest bowling alley, best staff, and also has a competitive shot on the lane, unlike other bowling alleys.

This establishment is one of the finest. It is only 28 lanes but the staff are courteous, polite and it is very clean. We had our daughter’s birthday party there and we have had many of our friends go back often. It was great fun for all ages.

Almost got in a fight there because someone accused us of being racist and they were to drunk to even be at a bowling alley. Was a bad night. But the hospitality was superb.
