They should get somebody there that knows whats goin on.We were there on a saturday they had half the lanes closed because they had a big party comming in at six pm and it was only 3 in the afternoon. They put everybody on the other half and it was packed.I paid for one hour we were half way through our first game when the big lady put a party of 12 kids next to us there was no supervision the kids were loud running all over the place they were running right in front of us when we were trying to bowl.It got to be so bad that we quit bowling.I asked the lady if I could come back later to finish we still had a half hour left or if I could get a rain check for the half hour and she said no way.I asked if she would work with me and she said no .You will never see me back at that dump againe. They need to get somebody behind that desk that knows whats going on.

My family has owned La Habra 300 Bowl for 52 years. I am proud to recently join the staff here, and am making it my priority to bring a new energy to the place. I enjoyed bowling the youth leagues here, and after talking with all of the bowlers here, I am correcting any concerns they may have had. Progress doesn’t happen overnight, but it is happening. This place still maintains its wonderful, vintage atmosphere. Everyone knows each other’s names. And the staff are all highly trained in the sport of bowling, whether it be old or new school. We have karaoke Tuesdays and Fridays, and live bands on Saturdays in the lounge. The coffee shop has been run by Lily and Charlie for 30 years now! I welcome anyone to email me if they have any suggestions. And I hope you all will stop in and see what’s so wonderful about La Habra 300 Bowl.

La Habra “300” Bowl has been a proud tradition, to me, since I moved here in 1973. I was night bowling manager in 1975 and again in 1994 and this center has become a part of my history. I have seen LH “300” grow from the old pale red and off-white masking units to the streamlined automated modern center it is today. The outside has the same architectural late 1950’s-early 60’s look, but inside there is state-of-the-art technology in the lounge as well as the bowling center. I have personally witnessed the progression of the lanes from being conditioned on Tuesdays, and on Fridays if needed, to being one of the best scoring conditioned houses in bowling. The desk staff is headed by Hall of Famer Glenn Allison, and if you want to talk bowling, just throw a question at him. A true legend and a remarkably talented bowler at his present place in life. The staff has been the friendliest for over 40 years and I am proud to be part of the La Habra “300” Bowl “Family”, as every bowler is as well. Oh…you really must try the Chinese food in the coffee shop! La Habra “300” Bowl is truely a local landmark.

Ok so i bowl in the youth leagues on saturday mornings and back in march the pepsi youth district tournament was held at la habra 300. i was lucky enough to be one of the 17 people in my division to qualify to bowl at the state level tournament. This past weekend the pepsi state tournament was held in daly city near san fran. 4 girls and 4 boys qualified from la habra and all 4 of the girls placed in the top 5 (5th, 4th, 2nd and 1st) in the entire state. 2 of the boys placed in the top 5 as well (2nd and 5th). anyone who says la habra is run down and not a good facility is very judgmental. so what if the house doesnt look like a lucky strike. it has character and havnt you ever heard of dont judge a book by its cover???? well dont judge la habra 300 by its appearance. There is an amazing youth programs and we just proved it this weekend. La Habra 300 dominated the Pepsi State Youth Championship tournament. we ARE one of the best in the state

From Orange County Register – 4/13/11
Anaheim’s Glenn Allison has added another achievement to his long bowling career.
At 80 years old, the United State Bowling Congress and Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Famer recently became the 15th bowler to make 60 appearances in the USBC Open Championships.
He received a plaque, chevron and gold money clip in honor of his record, according to a press release from the tournament. His wife, Marsha, was there to see him recognized.
“In 59 previous tournaments, Allison collected four titles (Classic Doubles in 1962, Classic Team in 1964 and 1966 and Classic Singles in 1970) and toppled 107,929 pins to become one of 13 members of the event’s elite 100,000-Pin Club,” the release said. “His efforts helped him into the USBC Hall of Fame in 1979.”
Allison finished his milestone appearance with 567 in singles, 541 in team and 472 in doubles for a 1,580 all-events total. In 60 tournaments, he has knocked down 109,509 pins for a career average of 198, the release said.
Allison has been the local history books as well. A portrait of Allison known as “Mr. 900” hangs over lanes 13 and 14 at La Habra 300 Bowl. Allison bowled three consecutive 300 games on those two lanes on July 1, 1982.

I’ll admit theres been changes at la habra 300. Some of them for the better, some not so much. The food is still amazing. The youth leagues are great….if you can handle drama or at least manage to stay out of it. The adult leagues are still the same, some of the adults are just crabby. There are great coaches. Just this past weekend, the Pepsi Youth Championship tournament was held here. Amazingly the parents were complaining about the stairs! woop-di-do they’re stairs what is there to complain about?? S*ck it up and act your age. Overall this place is great for parties, karaoke, and cosmic. The atmosphere is laid back and dim. Come visit us sometime. Youth leagues are Saturday mornings at 9:45. Adult leagues vary throughout the week and sunday.

It seems to me like its my job to comment on this place every year, to me it seems to get better. I know it doesnt seem right but I get free stuff because of my family name. Look for me, I’m either bowling or hanging out at the front desk talking to grandpa. (P.S) The porter does smoke weed outside during his “breaks”

I absolutely love the place! I have had all my daughters and nephews parties in the banquet room. As a matter of fact I will be having another one there in March. The place is a tad bit run down but I like it only because Ive lived in La Habra all my life and it brings back memories 🙂 Every place cant be perfect!!!

Really? Gary has done wonders for the place.

Comment Date: 10/21/2010 Name: Becky
I must say some of the comments left are true and some are just plain funny. I enjoy bowling at La Habra 300 on Tuesday. The only problems I see that need to be addressed are: Gary does sit around and visit his family and friends. Also, the porters need to be screened for drugs. They sit out in the parking lot getting high with there friends. When you say something to Glenn or Gary they do nothing. The bathrooms are always dirty and don’t get me started on the approaches. They are not clean and we have to ask the porter every week to clean them. Of course you will never see it like that on Thursday and Friday leagues. This center does not care about the bowlers, they only care about the money.

Bowled there last night, friendly staff, very helpful, and the regulars were very friendly also, gave us alot of advice, i think we found a new place to bowl.

Once again, this is a great place to bowl. No doubt about it. They have just installed some new monitors with personalized themes. Such as Halloween, Christmas, Fairy Tales you name it. The atmosphere of the place is so much better than it was before. You feel as if your in a professional place. The place is just so much better. The bar is great too. The bartenders are nice and polite. You just cant beat this place!

Comment Date: 9/23/2009 Name: GO DODGERS !!!
Amazing how no one has put their full name here except for Glenn’s grandson. Everyone has their own opinions about how the place is run before and now. People who know how the bowling center is run knows that everything goes through Mickey. Any praise the new GM gets is because Mickey has allowed it to happen. Any opinions of how the previous GMs/Managers have done are because that’s what they were allowed from Mickey. So I wouldn’t knock Rob or praise Gary only because we all know the place is where it’s at because of Mickey. Good or bad it doesn’t matter.
The only thing I have noticed is a lack of leadership from Gary and this new night manager. Just observing from my Friday night league you can tell they get on the porters for standing around (which is good). But I thought was interesting was during our league meeting I had to use the bathroom and behind the desk was the porter. No desk person. Some lady asking him to put names in but he was too busy doing someone else’s job. On my way back to the meeting the same lady came right back up asking whether or not someone was going to put names for her group. Anyway, the interesting part was Gary was sitting down near the desk just chatting away with his family. I have no clue where the desk person or other manager was.
Gary seems to be doing a decent job with the place. A lot of changes but I’m wondering if any of the money could have been used somewhere else like fixing the oil machine or hiring someone that knows what they’re doing with the stupid thing.
Lanes weren’t so bad about 2 seasons ago. They’ve just gotten “strange”. I’ve had to come into Friday with the mindset of bowling a tournament. You have no clue what you’re going to be bowling on.
What the hell happened on position round? I saw Joe Couch make a ball change and his ball sailed forever and a half in the gutter. One other bowler missed two boards right and picked off the 10 pin.
Now I’m assuming Gary is in “charge” of lane conditions but whoever was doing them before had a better clue of whatever the hell he (or she) was doing.
So basically La Habra isn’t too bad a place to bowl. But I miss the old school characteristics it had. I grew up bowling in the 70s-80s. The place is becoming more commercialized.
With all the money they’ve been spending they could have bought a couple personalities for two employees who shall remain unnamed. These two just seem really old and boring. People with warped senses of humor have more personality than these two. I mean not to be overly mean without poking fun with names but holy christ.
I guess old school bowling is a thing of the past. Running low on family owned bowling centers from my era that cared about what the bowlers wanted instead of adding to the bank account.

This place is ok. It seems to be getting better. The bathrooms are always dirty and the lanes are hardly ever cleaned. I wish they would be more concerned about the customers than all the events.
They just want to make a buck, they don’t care what happens to the customers.

I left a comment on here two years ago and it still applies. It is a very good bowling alley with great employees. My grandpa is pretty much the same as hes ever been. The atmosphere there is great. I love that place and will be going there until I die. My grandpa says he will be working there until he passes away and I hope I can work there and carry the family name.

La Habra 300 is the best bowling alley that I’ve ever been to. I have been bowling there for 7 years and I still don’t have a complaint about it. I have bowling at bowling alleys all over California, and La Habra 300 is still the best. The food is amazing, especially the Chinese! The staff is always friendly. Glenn “Mr. 900” Allison, a bowling icon, still bowls there. Anyone who goes there and sees him should consider themselves lucky, its an honor. They have a great junior program. The coaches help the kids become better bowlers while having fun at the same time. Cosmic bowling is fun and has new songs as well as old classics. Overall La Habra 300 is the best bowling alley ever and if you’re ever in the area, you have to stop by.

This place is an okay bowling center i have been to alot more with a better atmosphere though. The biggest thing that bothers me is the lack of bright lighting. It always seems depressing in there, although since Gary started there it has gotten much better.

Something is different about the place. I used to come in with friends to bowl and just hang out. Have a few drinks in the bar (Jan is great to have intellectual conversations with), check out the women bowling, and meet new friends. Lately we haven’t seen a lot of “regulars” coming in and business has been slow. The price is great but the environment sucks. The manager just seems unfriendly. She’s too old school to deal with the younger crowd that I haven’t seen coming in anymore.
I would still come in to bowl. If there are more than the 5-10 cars out on the parking lot. Otherwise I’m heading to Lucky Strike. It cost quite a bit more but the environment is great. No leagues. More music. Younger employees. More women. More drinks. More fun.

This is a really nice house. I love the old school type of feel to it. The guys who work there are really nice too. It was an honor to meet Glenn Allison. Icon of the bowling world. But I also like the house shot. It’s pretty easy to get used to. But if you want carry, this is the place to go. Insane amount of carry here. All-in-all, it’s a great center. Could use a few upgrades though.

Comment Date: 7/28/2008 Name: LMH
Never in my life have I been in a more pleasurable bowling center. The staff are friendly and organized, and they are a pleasure to deal with. I have been bowling in this house going into my 4th year now. There are some small areas of concern. However I would not trade in the feel and comfort of a family owned enviroment for a “sponsored” center. I enjoy the time I spend in this house, and plan on staying in leagues there for years to come.

I hate when coffee shops change ownership, and sure enough, the asian/teryaki food creeps in and the place goes down hill.
You start getting cheap pre-made burger patties and undercooked fries.
No thanks.
Lets keep the coffee shops real and competative with the big boys like Denny’s.

For those of you that can’t handle the truth, don’t read this.
I enjoy bowling at La Habra 300. Now that Rob is gone that place is much nicer thanks to Gary( the new manager). Mickey is what keeps that place running so smooth. Rob rode on her coat tails. He never did anything to improve this place, things are better now that Gary is their. And, as for the staff they are great people. Always pleasant (If you catch Glenn on a good day)He is hard to read, but I have alot of respect for him.

I declare this place to be… Awesome! The atmosphere has a vintage feel to it that is comfortable. The bar and resturant are great also.

Comment Date: 5/10/2007 Name: AJ
Love this place. I just started on a league there this spring and compared to other leagues I’ve been on in the past (at different centers) this one is by far the friendliest and most organized. Even the coffee shop is great! Very unassuming but terrific food, for a bowling alley cafe. Sure, I would love to see the scoring equipment updated one day and the fugly carpet ditched – but consider me a loyal customer of La Habra 300 from now on.

Comment Date: 1/6/2007 Name: Heidi
La Habra 300 bowl is the greatest. I used to bowl there in the late 90’s. Bowled against Glenn a few times and his daughter Suzy. The staff was great and sounds like they are all still there. Keep up the great work.

I have bowled at 300 for over 30 years and have watched many staff members come and go so don’t get me wrong, Scott is a great guy but there aren’t alot of folks who don’t like the way he drills the equipment. As for price, the cost of bowling and cosmic is comparable within Orange County and the facility is always neat and clean. I love the way Mickey and her staff decorate for EVERY holiday. Charlie and Lilly do wonders in the coffee shop but their prices are a little on the high side. Now all the center needs is some new seating areas for spectactors/bowlers and to get rid of the ugly freakin’ carpet.

Comment Date: 11/15/2005 Name: Go Michigan Wolverines !
La Habra “300” Bowl is a great center. They have a large junior program that fills the house from wall-to-wall. The junior program has a wonderful cast of volunteer coaches led my their junior director, Jeff Watson.
As far as price is, around the area they are the cheapest place to bowl. For open bowl, parties, cosmic, etc. I was surprised to hear someone complain that LH300Bowl’s prices. Obviously they haven’t been to the other centers around La Habra.
The coffee shop is pretty good too. The best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. When all else fails Chicken Fried Rice.
The center itself has a great staff that enjoys what they do. Bowling isn’t a job for them, it’s their life. From what I can see, they have a great variety of employees that will be their success. General Manager Rob Shan and Manager Alvin Camba seem to be on the same page and work hard to make the business a huge success. Glenn “Mr. 900” Allison also works at the bowl and is an icon in the bowling world.
So young or old, open or league, or all-for-fun or serious bowler; you and your wallet will enjoy bowling at La Habra.

My comments for La Habra 300 bowl is that I really like this bowling alley very much and they have the very best junior league all over the city of La Habra and further.

Comment Date: 6/23/2004 Name: E-flow-laughlingamblers
I think La Habra 300 is one of the best bowling centers around. Yeah it may not have the state of the art scoring systems that show how fast you’re throwing the ball and all the cool graphics like the new centers but it doesn’t need all that. The lanes and the people who bowl there make up for that. Bowling league there for two years now has been fun, the food, arcade, are great. Everyone should come down to La Habra and check out this great bowling alley.

Comment Date: 3/30/2004 Name: Joeyjetsfan
I recently moved to the area and was very pleased to feel right at home at La Habra 300 Bowl. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. The diner food is great – what a yummy hamburger! The arcade sure looks like fun though I haven’t yet played in there yet. Oh yeah…the lanes, pins, and scoring machines are beautiful. This guy has found himself a new ‘house’…and I’m not talking about the one for which I pay the mortgage 🙂

One of the most underrated places. I love coming here and the place is well kept. Food is great here too. Me and my friends enjoy coming here when we all have free time. Be back for sure!

This place is one of the best! The place is well maintained and kept clean. The service is excellent and takes care of the customers’ needs.

This is one of the best places to bowl in O.C!!! The place is kept well clean, the lanes are in great working order, and the service is great. The food at the cafe is awesome too!! Usually quiet on mondays and wednesday (unless it’s holiday break) and Fridays too. Staff takes care of the problems I have with other bowlers being rude and find a solution to prevent further problems (move me to another lane and/or asking the offenders to leave). Definitely coming back here!!

This is a great place to bowl. The place had been redone in the past and it looks great as they put in a nice wheelchair walkway so one of my friends and other disabled people can get down ot the lanes. That is a plus for me. I liked the one hour on a lane deal for $10 or 12 dollars. I can do unlimited games in an hour. The place is kept very well as I do not find any graffitti anywhere. Valley View does a great job with taking care of the broken down lanes as the lanes rarely ever break down when me and my friends bowl here. Also, the staff is very alert in handling situations with rowdy patrons. Once, I had rowdy patrons next door to me and the staff took care of the matter before it escalated, making me comfortable about coming here. I love the scoreboard animations on the scoreboard. The place isnt noisy like Linbrook and the place is in a better area. The food is great and I would recommend this place to my friends.

This place is a great place to bowl! The lanes and equip are in good order and the lanes are well oiled. People there are pretty cool and will handle anything that gets out of hand quickly. I like the price for unlimited bowling for an hour and also the animations for strikes, spares and gutter balls. Love that part! Food is great and I would recommend this bowling alley to anyone.

New carpeting, new tile floors, new flat screens, great atmosphere, nice center all around. Dollarmania is the best deal around. Bartenders are great, and the staff is the friendliest in Orange County.

I love this bowling alley but i hate the price. Plus the managment isnt soooo great. But i think everything else rocks.

Comment Date: 2/21/2007 Name: Bryce Jordman
What is not to like about this Bowling Center? It’s bright, food is good, clean and the atmosphere electric. Just one problem, the staff, most especially a specific manager, is awful.
Wasn’t totally bad though. The bartender, Judy, was an absolute sweet heart and WOW she makes great Mai Tai’s. The Snack bar girl was friendly as was the customer service tech.
But the manager lady at the desk? YUCCCCCCCK. How a person that can be so loathsome is given a customer service position, let alone be called a manager is beyond me.
I would comeback again though. Just have to make sure anybody but that “manager” is not helping us.
JUDY!!!!!!!! Thank you though!!!!!!!! Now that’s what a manager should be like!!!

Comment Date: 3/23/2006 Name: Anonymous
The management s*cks. Ok, enough of my petty insults. I remember going here and I had a free 1 game of bowling coupon and I wanted to use it. I was bowling at 1pm so the prices was I think 2.50 which was ok. When I presented the manager lady the coupons she’s like oh if you use this coupon then games will cost 4.99. It was outrageous. The coupon stated that I could use it anytime from 10am-6pm so and it didn’t say anything like that. That woman was bitchy.

Comment Date: 6/23/2005 Name: Jack Kazlin
I went to this Bowling Center recently and even though I had a great time, I was shocked at how expensive everything was.
Is this what bowling has gotten too? Outrageous prices? The assistant manager told me, (who by the way was not very friendly, but everyone else was, so I kind of just blew her bad attitude off)you are spending just as much going to the movies.
If anything though, it’s the non-management staff that made it worthwhile. Thanks to David, Carol, Judy and Trudi. You are all terrific…….now that assistant manager………well that’s another story.

Comment Date: 7/2/2004 Name: Bowler
The place is great.. just the price is a bit too high..

Comment Date: 6/7/2004 Name: Anonymous
This place s*cks……food prices sky high, lanes inconsistant, management s*cks, and they steal your damn money. Bad PR all the way.

We bowl weekly at Vista Entertainment Center and find the staff and facilities above reproach. We have bowled in numerous centers throughout Southern California and find Vista the tops.

Place is terrible…Old managment let the place go to crap…They had 2 old ladies running a center and they lost most of their bowlers….Place is old, food is terrible….bar stinks….THIS PLACE S*CKS….AMF as a corperation is TERRIBLE…They say no outside food is allowed but yet they allow food for certain events….The Match Club was told THEY CAN NOT BRING IN ANY OUTSIDE FOOD, (THEY HAVE BEEN BRINGING IN FOOD FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS)SO NOW THERE IS NO MORE MATCH CLUB….Shame on AMF…terrible terrible terrible…the company is a piece and Mowry Lanes has gone to crap….

Comment Date: 9/14/2007 Name: Anonymous
say mowry lanes what is the reason you do not notify resent bowler’s from last winter who bowled there of a contact either by a post card or by phone to see if they would interested in bowling again if a leauge was discontined that is still no reason of not notifying the indivials they would be intersted in bowling on another leauge or different night so again what is the reason if understaff that is not excuss thank you and some sort of an ansewer would be nice.

Comment Date: 3/29/2007 Name: Bill
The facility is like stepping back in time 20 years. From the lanes, to the scoring system, to the ball returns…everything looks vintage 80s. This is not a good thing with regards to the lanes as they are very worn and lumpy.

I have been to this center once with my boyfriend. He is a really good bowler and we just got into a league recently. The people are nice and the prices are decent, the lanes are….not!

Go to eBay & search under gift certificates, or bowling coupons. You should find ‘Banquet’ coupons for free games to AMF bowling locations. Sellers sell them in groups of 5 – 40. Cost less than $5-$10.00, depending on # of coupons listed.
