I had my boy’s birthday party at this center, and I must say that it was a WONDERFUL place… They had excellent service, great food, and very helpful employees… On that Saturday the floors were kind of dirty but whose wouldn’t be when they host many many birthday parties on that day… We had 30 kids at our birthday and I know how messy kids can be, but you know I commend the owner for his patience and caring personality for having children’s parties… I want to say thank you because their is NOT many place in Mercer county for kids to have fun and stay out of trouble… Thanks Green Valley Bowling Center for you great service that you provide to our community!!!!!!

We went today and had a great time. Yes, it’s a bit dated but give the local business owner a break, this isn’t a chain with millions to throw into updates! They were very nice, made sure we had a great time, and had a special going at 2.50/per to boot. We had a great time with our two kids and their grandparents. We went during the weekdays, maybe that was the difference, only about 10 people in the whole building.

This place is unbeatable! If u ever wonder why the floors might be a little nasty on the weekend just think about how many birthday parties they do. I’ve been several times the past couple months and can hardly ever get a lane without having to wait! Now days the public is filthy ! And its impossible to keeps things real clean anywhere.

I have had my children’s birthday parties here and will continue to have them here in the future. The staff is exceptional and everyone has fun from 2 years old and up. I always got great service. I have been to the other bowling centers but the service here cannot be beat!

I was there not too long ago for a birthday party and while they have several things for the kids to do in addition to bowling such as mini golf and bouncy houses…you can’t get past the fact the floors were in horrible shape and the place was just overall run down and dirty…If they would clean up, it might help get business in!!

Every time that I have visited this bowling center I found the cleanliness deplorable. I thought it was very funny to find a comment her dated 9/06 from the owners wife defending the center. Clean it up. I don’t have any problems with what I have been charged, but I do have a problem with the cleanliness.

The bowling alley is nice and very family oriented. The pricing is reasonable. We have had several birthday parties there with no problems. I would recommend this business to anyone in the area.

These are hysterical! I hope and pray it’s not that bad. I am having my son’s birthday party there this weekend. I have never been there before. We will be visiting family in the area for Easter, so we decided to have his party there. We are NOT used to being around some of the people described in the other postings. I really hope that the bad things being said are just people trying to be funny. Crossing my fingers!

My family and I don’t go bowling to often, but when we do, we have a great time! I feel that the prices are very reasonable. My daughter has had 2 birthday parties at Green Valley Bowling Center and things went smooth and everyone was very polite and helpful! This year will make her third birthday party at the GVBC and I am sure that yet again things will go great!
I am actually quite shocked at some of the comments below. As far as the younger crowd that shows up there on weekends….that is pretty much everywhere… have you ever tried to take your family to the movies or the mall on a Friday or Saturday night?? It is ridiculous!
I think you guys at GVBC have done a great job making sure that you run a safe and affordable place for families to come and have fun! Kudos to you!

Wonderful place for parties and family fun! The staff is extremely polite and accommodating; the prices are incredibly affordable; the atmosphere is enjoyable and offers some variety (with the additional games, Glow (Mini) Golf, Ticket Prizes, etc.). Overall, I give this business a Super “5” on rating.

well evry lane has good and bad things it has agood enviorment for evryone. music isnt bad bathrooms cleen newly refurnished.everyone knows food has to be a little pricey to acomodate the low lane prices. the roller rink next door has ran down hill they refurnished added lights but nothing helps

Well i love green is a good place for people’s family to go and have a good time…..but i would like to know more information like how much it is and stuff like that but this website doesnt provide it and it makes me so mad..

I agree with Anthony’s statement and also Aaron’s. Hey, Mercer County lacks places to go and have a good time. (Southern Exposure types notwithstanding) They have nice Birthday party facilities and do not charge insane prices. The Pizza is pretty good and I have ate more than 1 humdaddy burgers!!! When me and Ron and Fez go bowling… we leave the city limits and head over to Airport Road!!! Mighty Horse Rocks!!!

Comment Date: 3/25/2007 Name: Anthony Cumia
I have been to the GVBC a few times and always enjoy myself. There are more modern facilities, but the people are very nice and the prices reasonable. When me and Jim Norton go bowling we are going to have fun. You take the imperfections with a grain of salt and just enjoy yourself. Management is helpful and trying to provide a place in this community to get out and have a little exercise… just leave them alone you naysaying jack@$$#$. Ramone’… fetch me my bowling shoes!!!!!

yeah, i started bowling in a league at green-valley and its amazing. the people there make it so much better then any bowling alley i have been too. just everyone is nice and it just feels good to be somewhere where you feel comfortable and this place really covers that one well. as for the people who think its a broken down place, and the guy talking something about rape, thats your opinion hey, you want to pay 8 dollars a game somewhere where the lanes are just a bit better then go right ahead haha

I have absolutely no idea who posted the trash about your Bowling Alley and signed my name to it, but I certainly want to set the record straight! First of all, I am an English teacher, and if I couldn’t write and punctuate with any more literacy than what the idiot did who signed my name to that rambling junk about immigrants and Lincoln freeing the slaves and the Daughters of the Confederacy, I’d be fired from my English teaching position.
Furthermore – I don’t even belong to the Daughters of the Confederacy and I DON’T bowl?!?!? The only time I have ever been to the Green Valley Bowling Alley is to pick up my 10 year old who is occasionally asked to attend parties out there, and I find it quite nice! I particularly like the purple carpet since that is my favorite color! My son always has fun there and feels safe, so I have no idea who this imposter is that is trying to create havoc. If I had something to say to the owners of the Bowling Alley, trust me, I would not hide behind an illiterate email.

I moved to Princeton from New York last summer and saw a flyer for a children bowling league at Green Valley. Although I was surprised that the place was not very modernized, I was quickly won over buy the owners and the staff. They were all very friendly and every Saturday morning they go out of their ways to make sure the kids are having a good time. Oh, did I mention that they provide the kids league free of charge. Just goes to show you how generous they are and that they are willing to give kids a chance to do something constructive.

It is a shame that people would write comments that are lies about Green Valley Bowling Ctr. before you go making up stories that should have to be verified and you know who you are think about what you are doing to the business and yourself to make you feel good, shame on you.
Green Valley Bowling Ctr. is a family oriented business with a wonderful staff and managers on hand, their prices are very reasonable and affordable, they have constant specials for laser bowling and families and individuals.
Green Valley Bowling Ctr. has good lane conditions and well maintained and i would advise any one or a family to bowl at this center.

I thought they would have closed this half-way house for wife beating pedophiles long ago .On numerous occasions have I seen a man beat his wife in the lanes . Then walk out with some underage girl from the local hospice . This place is a haven for everything wrong with rural Applachia . All they have to do is have a Pentacostal preacher walking around asking for donations, offerings, blessing, tithes…or just a cash “Love” offering with a side-order of Pabst Blue Ribbon . And it’s right next door to Hell On Wheels Roller Rink .Which is a perfect example of a Post-Apocolyptic rendering of a hunter-gather event on rollerblades ..Thanks…and God Bless

I was truly shocked whe I saw how downhill this bowling alley has gone. I decided to have our bi-monthly United Daughters of the Confederacy metting at the bowling alley..and bowl a couple of frames. I hadn’t seen so unruly types running around since Lincoln freed the slaves. This is what is wrong with America today. I wonder if the illegals from Mexico have taken over the roller-rink next door. I feel like a foreigner when I go out to socialize in these environments. As an elected official in this county, I felt it’s my duty to ask the owners of the Green Valley Bowling Center to clean their act up or shut their doors for good.

I’ve bowled there many times and the lanes are horrible! They are too dry. I can’t get my ball to curve, everytime I do it hits the gutter! Balls provided there are horrible, they don’t clean them good enough. They must just throw a towel on it then not ever wipe it. The lanes are too sticky. The food is horrible. I bowl every Friday night at Mountaineer lanes in Bluefield. They are so much better. Sometimes there lanes are dry, but that’s usually on league nights and lazer bowling is after it so yeah, pretty dry. But 95% of the time, it’s oiled up, but not too oily. Their balls are better. They are in better shape. The shoes are kinda sucky, but who can blame them! Over like a thousand feet go in them shoes a week. Their leagues are great!!! My friends dad bowls in a league and he’s really good at it. Well, I write books, so, yeah I need to shut up. Bye!

Thought I would take the wifey and kid out for a evening of family fun It would of cost me less to get a babysitter and spend money on my wifey at her place of business. She is a professional “dancer”

I just moved to Bluefield,VA from Roanoke . Green Valley Bowling Center in Mercer County West Virginia is a dive..And let’s not talk about the skating rink they own next door.It must have been Crips and Bloods league nite. That bowling -alley is like H.U.D housing .Kids fighting everywhere. I saw a group of kids walk in one friday night and walk out with several rental balls. And , I dont think they maintain their bathrooms at all.Cracked wall-urinals wrapped in plastic . And the food at the stand was very sub-par .Was just a bunch of microwaveable stuff. And seltzered down fountain drinks.

Comment Date: 4/22/2006 Name: Trent Baldwin
Way over priced for lanes of such quality.Minimal amount of sizes on balls and rental shoes.Balls were chipped & scuffed..Ball fingering holes looked like they had been drilled by a cold-steel chisels . I know it’s West Virginia..But I’ve been overseas and seen more modernized lanes in former Soviet Republics. And from what I’ve seen ,I don’t think dental is one of the benefits given to it’s employees.Very low lighting.Noisy outdated P.A blasting music thru blown speakers . The decor was out of control ,and thrown together like a high school prom on a shoestring budget in Omaha.4 people 4 games $56.00 ..You have to be kidding me..i think we just paid the mortgage on the owners trailer for the month.

I watched a gang of would-be assasins club an old lady in the putt-putt golf area. Which with it’s psychodelic colors looked like a Roger Corman Sci-Fi movie meets a San Fernando Valley Porno set

I took my kids and waited 30 minutes for someone to mop up water puddles in the middle of the lanes.Food was nasty and over priced. Mountaineer Lanes in Bluefield is the place for me . I’d wish someone would have warned me in advance .
