I have been going to the LGL for years. Staff always changes over and eventually settles in. I have recently seen what seems like tension with the employees. IT always seemed professional and even more so when they got employee shirts but recently this rule seems to only apply to certain employees and not even the managers. This will not deter me from continuing to go there but do warn people don’t judge the place on a few or even one possible bad experience or 1st impression. Again this place goes through a lot of changes ever few years and it seem sthey may be at that point. Stick it out, keep coming, and enjoy your self….it will get better, I’ve seen it happen.

Eh, it needs help, more than anything. I can’t stress enough the fact that everytime I have been to Lkae Geneva Lanes, it has been busy. But that quite is not the point I’m getting to. I ordered food, and not only was some of it missing, but it took 30 minutes to come out of the kitchen. It seems this company is lacking some staff. One counter staff, one kitchen staff, one bar back, and someone working the machines. It seems things could get done smoother and quicker than has been with my visits. Thnk you.

I have spent my fare share of time at Lake Geneva Lanes and this is all that i can say. The bowling center itself is spectacular, cleanest and the best generally kept in the area. The food is awesome, the atmosphere is extremely child friendly, and above all the staff is great. But recently i found out that one of the more commendable staff members was fired, which came as a surprise considering his father was a manager at the time. Less than a week later i found out his father was gone as well. I must admit thinking in years passed it seemed like there was a definate lack of professional presence at Lake Geneva Lanes. When asking the staff what had happened all that is received is a faint shrug of confusion, when asking bowlers what happened it seems that there is a lot of talk that the termination on both counts was unjustified, which i do understand is just hearsay. Generally I and many others I’ve talked to are disappointed with the direction of Lake Geneva Lanes and will be looking to find leagues elsewhere.

Tell me about your lanes. I see they are rated fairley high. Are they wood or synthetic? What kind of a ball reacts to the lanes. I am planning on bowling at the 600 Club Tournament in November and would like a heads up as I have never been there. I am looking forward to coming to your establishment and hope to bowl well. Thank you for any information that will help me prepare for this tournament. C.C.

This is the fist time I have ever posted a comment on any type of message board. I stumbled upon this message board looking for Lake Geneva Lanes phone number, to find out their hours. With that said I am quite shocked that anyone could have anything negative to say about Lake Geneva Lanes. A close family friend who lives in the area had suggested if we are ever in Lake Geneva to check this place out. Apparently they had just done some renovating. We live in Milwaukee so we rarely get out that way. Well I am a stay at home mom and for time to time watch some of the neighborhood kids. Well it was sometime in late spring and the kids had a day off of school, for something or other. I had convinced my husband to take the day off and we could all do something. Well before we knew what hit us there were seven kids at our house, it wasnt even 9:00am. All the kids of course wanted to do something different. I suggested bowling to my husband, before I knew it the kids were piling in the car and we were heading to Lake Geneva for the day. I had figured we do some shopping get some lunch and them some bowling. Once getting into Lake Geneva all the kids just wanted to go right bowling. We stopped at the gas to get exact directions (didnt realize it was just up the street on the left). We hadnt even called to see if they were open yet since it was barley 10:00am… So I did I was surprised when someone answered the phone, I asked if they were open yet he replied No but before I could even explain our situation the gentleman on phone replied by saying your more than welcome to come in early if your looking for open bowling. I replied with, we will be there in five minutes. We all had a BLAST!!!! The kid had so much fun, for a couple of hours it was like their own private party. We spent all morning and afternoon bowling, eating pizza and dinking soda. The staff was fabulous. I knew it was probably time to go when the staff knew just about all the kids names. My son and his friends always ask. When are we going back to that cool bowling place? I think they have a few days off of school next week I may just have to surprise them. Just have to convince my husband to take a day off (LOL). Thank You to all at Lake Geneva Lanes for making that day one of those days your kids will always remember. Sorry not sure what remodeling was all done, but the place is beautiful. I love the tile in the restroom.

I have yet to comment on any of the previous comments because I as an individual, as a customer, and as a family “friend” never felt it appropriate to justify my actions in regards to any of the comments made, before I acknowledge them, I would like to give a background of myself. I am 23, and have worked in the customer service industry since I was 14, of the 10 years I’ve been working, 8 or them have been in Supervisory positions including a brief stint as Manager at Lake Geneva Lanes, I have recieved countless hours of customer service training where I have always followed one acronym, L.A.S.T which stands for Listen, Ask, Solve, and Thank. A simple procedure which always turns out in the best interest of the customer. Where I’ve also felt that between myself, a generous staff and listening to the customer we could always come to a result that benefits the customer most. Lake Geneva Lanes has always been like a second home to me until recently, where we parted ways, still much to my amazement however, a business must be ran…even upon my seperation with the center, I always continued to offer my support to the employees as well as listen and take the time to explain things to the league bowlers, offering my apology to all the customers that were quite regular even a family that attended the center on weekends before the boys left for Basic training and eventually Iraq. I always took the time to address and listen to what the customer wanted and how I could help them, even if it was just an ear. Now, in regards to the comments, especially the first comment which is absolutely false, the group of people did in fact attend the lanes on an extremely busy day…when they approached the counter they asked for three lanes, the lanes that were available were not adjacent to one another, so myself and our staff explained to this large group of customers, that we could put them on the available lanes and as the lanes next two the pair we had available cleared we could transfer their entire game to the lane next to the rest of their party…this lane became available and we approached the group and they were pleased that we could accomodate this, upon transferring to the lane near the rest of their party they began to complain that another group was bowling on that lane, the people sitting at the lane opposite the rest of there party…was sitting at their lane…the lady in charge of this group approached myself and my staff and became extremely beligerent, demanding a full refund, I calmly explained that I could only refund what they had not completed, which was three games at $3.00 each…this lady became enraged began swearing, when asked to watch her language this only encouraged her, I then calmly asked her again to watch her language and she refused, I then told her that if she could not watch her language she would have to leave, she then refused to leave and demand that I call the police, the police were then called and working with the local law enforcement we came to conclusion that she could only be refunded what was not completed, a total of $9. As for the other complaint in regards to 3 hours of lane preperation, is absolutely rediculous. One hour prior to leagues we do clear off our lanes for lane preperation, lane preperation includes dusting of the gutters and approach, oiling the lanes, as well as whiping down all pin decks, and doing a pin count to make sure all the lanes run efficiantly throughout our leagues, if you made it this far, thank you for your time, as for any customers, employees, family, or friends, I wish you the best of luck with all you do, and ask that you keep one thing in mind, take the time to talk to one another, bowling is an amazingly fun experience and when around the right people, including ownership and staff this experience can only be heightened…as for Ownership, people don’t want to hear about what you’re doing, they can see it, treat them as individuals with a great deal of respect, I hear a lot about the center and a lot of upset bowlers as well as employees, please take the time to communicate with them and offer them the respect you’d like.

I often read customer comments as this is a very helpful tool for me to grade the performance of my staff. My family has spared no expense in pursuit of your ultimate satisfaction. I want your experience at our center to be nothing less than spectacular. There are references made of a “rude young man” in our staff. I have researched the above mentioned comments and have since replaced said individual with a more user-freindly model. On behalf of Lake Geneva Lanes I can only offer my apology for this young man and thank you for the info. Our center has been designed with your comments and opinions as the guiding force that steers all of our decisions. All comment are welcome and I hope you will consider our center in the future. On another note, our web page should be fully operational very soon.

We went to Lake Geneva Lanes and had the time of our life. The owner (Frank) walked up to our lane and asked if we were having a good time. He bought us a drink and gave us a free game of bowling. He said that he appreciates our business and wanted to make sure that our experience was unforgetable. Indeed our experience was more than we bargained for. The facility was clean and state of the art. I would recommend visiting Lake Geneva Lanes to all my friends based on the experience that my family had. Lake Geneva Lanes is the only bowling center that my family will visit. We will be back very soon!!!!!

We also have had terrible experiences at this center, including refusing to honor a gift certificate! This week we called about open bowling and were advised that open bowling was available until 4:30pm. We arrived at 3pm only to have the counter man (probably same young man mentioned in earlier posts) tell us there’s no open bowling available. Now only 3 lanes were taken at the time, so it’s not like they were full. When we advised him of our phone call, his rude reply was “you didn’t talk to me”. He said they have leagues at 6pm and need time to prep the lanes. 3 hours?????? We left and went to Burlington Town & Country where we were treated great, they were happy to have us, and we had a great time. We won’t bother with LGL ever again.

I took my family to Lake Geneva for the weekend and after a day on the lake we found that we needed an activity for the evening. After asking the staff at the hotel we were staying at what activities were available we chose to go bowling at Lake Geneva Lanes. This ended up being the highlite of our trip. The bowling alley was newly renovated and was a state of the art facilty. The cosmic bowling experience was unbelievable. My family had a great time so much so that we went back the next night. The next trip to Lake Geneva will surely include visiting Lake Geneva Lanes. Thanks for your hospitality.

We were there 12/31 with a group of approx. 20 people young and old. Everything started well, but ended horribly. The young gentlemen (who would not give his name) had us switch lanes (in the 8th frame with 7 bowlers on this lane) to a lane that was still occupied. We asked for a refund and were only $9.00. This young man who was in charge this day was extremly rude, had no people manners whatsoever and we had to have the police called in. Bottom line was they were wrong and we were right and wanted a report so we can follow up with Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce and surrounding hotels. There is more to this story, but wanted anyone who is looking into going here we were treated terribly and will never go back.
