Bowling Lanes are Fantastic. Some of the bowlers there complain because the lanes are old, but it’s mind over matter. I have been bowling great this year and alot of High Scores.

Westside is a great place to bowl, great proshop, lanes are typically great. but food & beverage prices have absolutely skyrocketed over the past few years. We plan ahead and eat before or after going to Westside. It’s actually cheaper to eat at a real restaurant near the mall.

NEEDS NEW OWNERSHIP!!! Terrible bolwing alley!

Just went bowling for the first time in almost 20 years today at westside lanes. I really don’t have anything to compare the prices to, but I could see where 3 bucks a game adds up quick. As for the staff, the two counter people that I talked to were very nice and friendly. The balls are all really old and scratched up, and I had a very hard time finding one that fit me, though it was very busy at the time. Overall great experience, only made better by the fact that the building is pink and turquoise!

so there are some ups and downs about westsidel lanes you all want to say the day crew are so much better then the night crew well i can tell you that is not always true there are a few on both shifts that are not as nice as they should be to the customers and ya customer service could definately be better but the omalleys definately get what they pay for there if they would treat there employees a little better then they do i would imagine they would work a harder for them you know the good ole saying you want respect you give respect as for how clean the place is they need to do some romodeling it has been a while especially those bathrooms they have to be the worse but overall they have way better prices and more to do then the other two alleys in town anyone can come on here and say nice or bad things about the omalleys and about westside lanes and there are always gonna be good days and bad days, day or night

you would think with the casino they would fix up the bathrooms!! the gilrs restroom in the casino is horrible! out of two sinks only one of them works. the soap dispencer is just sitting on the counter because it fell off the wall. and the stall doors are barely able to lock and stay shut….i have asked the casino why they dont fix it up and they have said mike wont let them because it is not in there contract they can only change the casino not the bathrooms! absolutely ridiculous! staff in the casino is very friendly with the exception of one night time pit boss. hes very rude and lets the power go to his head!

awesome place. top notch. had lots of fun. very clean

we meet there almost monthy or so. sometimes more. Luv this place. The day time are the nicest people. it’s the night time that gives the place a bad rap. I guess you get that anywhere.
But ill say westside, during the day anyhow, is full-service top-notch.

To Olympia resident…..on 2/27/08.
you would not have a center to bowl in at all if there was not any leagues…Leagues are what keeps the center open. If they had to depend on “open bowlers” that complain all the time they would not have a business at all. Love to see you work as hard as the O’Malleys and any other bowling CENTER Operators do to cater to you.
Love to see you spraying shoes after your stinky feet were in them. And lets do not forget the a’holes that steal the shoes( and bowling balls) because they think they are cute! Why do you think they make rental bowling shoes so ugly? But you still steal them!!!
Give the owners a break…. And the bathrooms are NOT disgusting! If they are, that is because the person that came in there before you messed it up…not the owners!!! Should they hire a bathroom attendent and raise the bowling costs to pay their wages because some people are pigs?
Too bad we are not as perfect as you are…I would love to come to your job and see how friendly you are.
When I worked at the lanes…I just had to shake my head at all the rude people that came to the desk. Just because you work in a bowling CENTER doesnt mean you are a low life…Its a fun job actually…only if you like people…or give them the benefit of a doubt that they just might be in a bad mood the one time you see them.
So get a life and stop your bitchin’
I took the grandson to bowl today not realizing it is Spring Break…I have limited time here visiting and its the last day that I could take him. Where we went it was an hour wait…I didnt have that time because of another committement. Both of us were dissapointed but not as bad as the people behind me! They threw a freaking big fit to why they had to wait so long! If these people would have looked at the lanes…they could have seen that they were all full. Niceness & respect gets you everywhere cuz within 10 minutes my grandson had a lane as we said we would share with anyone that wanted to. They went out of their way to ask patrons if they minded if we joined them…see…there are nice people out there!I know for a fact they didnt try with the a’holes behind me!
I cant believe that you are so perfect that you expect perfection in a bowling center or any other public entertainment facility…if you do…then do not go there. No one needs your negative feedback because no one cares.
And Yes….Westside Lanes is a very proper bowling center…if you knew the owners and their family…you would have never wrote what you did.
And to the comment about the smoking in the lanes or lounge/casino….there is NO smoking in Westside lanes or in O’Malleys lounge/casino….dont know what you did see…but there is NO SMOKING. I know because I smoke and I have to go outside…I have never been allowed to smoke inside since the law has passed so that is bull crap too. So anyone do not not believe that there is smoking in there at all….that was probably a comment from someone from another Center in Thurston County trying to hurt O’Malley business. There is NO SMOKING. PERIOD!

The O’malley’s are sweetest people and wonderful to work for as I have. Dont even think they are any less than that. I just hope Mike and Joann do not read any of this garbage!! Dont anyone belive any of those nasty rude comments about the owners. I have known them for 20 years and they are a very hard working family to keep those lanes running for YOUR pleasure!
I would like to see any of you complainers do any better of a job with the upkeep of a bowling Center.
As far as you with the dish cloth complaint….Im sure there was more to that than you are saying.
That would have never happened there and I do not believe a word of it. Besides working there I have been an avid league bowler for at least the last 20 years there so I am not just blowing smoke like you are.
if you have problems with the management… discuss it with them…not on here. Grow up because I am sure you complainers with the rude and nasty comments are the whiney “i dont want to work” 20 some year olds.
Until you know how much it takes to run a Bowling Center(not bowling alley)Dont even go there.
O’Malleys….you are great people and even greater friends. I value all our time being around all of you.

we bowled there twice this week. Great place. Bowling Alley was packed each time we went which i guess means they do something right.

Horrible place. I worked there for about a month, cleaning the tables. One day I had no clean towels and when I asked where the clean ones were I was told to use the same one I used yesterday. The one that I had cleaned beer, nachos, ketchup, mustard, and mayo up with.
Also the lanes are extremely old and will ruin any ball that isn’t already.
The owners are unkind and treat their employees like crap.

Comment Date: 3/6/2008 Name: Anonymous
The casino is fine, but my god if the bathrooms are the most disgusting place you have ever been. Also I thought Washington did not allow smoking indoors? I guess I was wrong. The pro shop is top of the line, and Mike is awesome. Their food looks like someone barfed it back up and served cold. The people who work behind the counter are as mean as they come, and tend to be short with you. No questions asked I could open up a bowling alley right next to it and run them out of business in under a year.

If you are not in a league then this may not be the place for you. I have went several times and 50% of the time you get turned away because the good ol’ boys club is having their flinstones league. I dont even bother anymore. Food is terrible. You feel like you went back 30 years the second you walk in the door.

was at westside for a friends kids birthday party. nice place. 32 lanes, i think its called qubica scoring, automatic bumpers, place was very clean. our party took up 8 lanes and everything ran perfect, good job. if i lived closer id revisit more often.

Awesome Place. Casino makes it a fun place. Bowling lanes are nice. As others say, things are on the expensive side, but bowling center and lanes are Well maintained.

If you like to put the death grip on your ball Mike at westside lanes can Help you grip even harder. Mike can make you squeeze the ball like a champ with his round holes and a ton of reverse!!

Lanes are generally well run compared to the others in town. Price is reasonable, staff is friendly. They dont tolerate horseplay at all, which is great! Food is awesome. The pro ( and I do mean pro) in the pro shop is the best. Pro shop hours can be odd, but he has other commitments and plays in a lot of tourneys. I’ll deal with odd hours for great advice and awesome ball drilling and maintenance.

I’ve been to cleaner centers. Seemed to be very well run though. Does DeNardo still work there? If he does tell him Sweat Hog Gumby was here.

There are a lot of new house balls that replaced some of the older ones. The whole place is well-run and the lounge-casino has good food. The lanes are oiled often and are in good condition.

Comment Date: 7/9/2005 Name: Anonymous
Do they have any type of midnight bowl or rock ‘n’ bowl on the weekends at Westside Lanes? I have heard that they do…

Comment Date: 2/15/2005 Name: anonymous
Well run and well maintained. Good leagues and a very good YABA league with free coaching available for younger bowlers.

Comment Date: 1/27/2005 Name: Bowler
Very nice place to bowl. I’ve never encountered a problem there, aside from having no open lanes. Prices are a bit high. But you do get what you pay for there.

Comment Date: 1/7/2005 Name: Casual Bowler
You can’t count on consistent oil. Be sure to bring a couple of balls. Lane balls are in awful shape.
There are a few friendly staff members but most rarely smile and greet you. Customer service is not a high priority for much of the staff.
The food is above average and they get it out quick and hot. If you’re going for a good time with friends, the food is a bonus.
Pro shop hours are odd.

$3.00 per game. That’s a lot. Cheap shoes though.. only 1 buck. Service: Workers in the afternoon are the nicest folk. Night crew can be mean… Overall great place to bowl!!!
