Are you kidding me? Since when does good customer service depend on being nice to the desk person so that they will be nice to you. I bowl a league at Secoma when Heidi is working. We are so tired of the rudeness she projects and the fact that you STILL cannot use debit and credit cards, among many other reasons that most of our league is getting out of Dodge. We are heading north to Renton where the bowling staff and management are friendly, experienced and really care about their customers. Plus the waitresses are very easy to look at. I practice my game there twice a week and always feel welcome and comfortable being there because staff and mangement always make a point to say things like it’s good to see you again and let us know how you like the lane condition today, etc. Much better than Heidi’s scowling and grumbling every week.

i’ve been bowling at secoma for 2 yrs now and i love it there, for the ppl who comment negative about this place obviously haven’t been around this area long. And ya know the staff there is Very friendly Heidi is the sweetest ol lady and if u nice 2 her she nice 2 u. the restaurant staff is all down 2 earth. ya the bathrooms maybe a lil dirty sometimes but what bathroom isn’t?

Lanes are Exceptional. Owner lady is alittle rude at times. can’t buy a picher of beer and prices are alittle high.. but that is usual for a bowley alley.. Bathrooms are in really bad shape.. don’t walk into one with your bowling shoe’s on… cause 75% of the time the bathroom will be flooded with water. also for a 5 man league there is little to no seating to accompany your teams.. had multipul problems with other teams sitting above your lanes that are bowling 3 lanes down. especially the lanes infront of the desk.
other then that if you rank this place against Kent bowl it is 100% better.

This place is definitely a bit of a throw back. Remember to bring cash, they don’t take cards. Yes, they will point you to an ATM, but this is a cheap trick to make a couple more bucks of you. Caveat emptor means know it going in and you won’t have your fun afternoon spoiled by this ploy. I have bowled there for years with my kids. Fridays and Sunday mornings they have pretty good discount bowling. The score machines are corny and graphics are always worth a chuckle. It’s not a modern house, but I have found the people friendly and the food reasonable.

i enjoy bowling here every time…the pro shop owner is great knows what would be right ball to get for the way you bowl…..rated the food zero, because I haven’t eaten there. can’t rate the category if i haven’t tried it. overall all this place is fun…

This bowling area is run by a very exceptional family and the atmosphere is very enjoyable.

I like secoma lanes the food is a bit expensive but it’s good food, and lately with eveything going up they are just trying to keep up with the prices and the times. I don’t think the alley will shut down. They have dones everything in there power to stay open. They are a great place to bowl. Jenni is being a snob. Heidi is the sweetest woman I have ever met and QUITE FRANKLY if she bannes you from the bowling alley she had a good flipping reason. Follow the rules and don’t blame Heidi for your freind’s actions it’s not her fault they ratted you out to her. I bowled at acme in south center like a month ago. They are outrageously priced in everything, and there food is the most disgusting I have ever had. I was sick for three days!!! the only decent thing was if you bowled with bumpers for your kids that when it was your turn the bumpers would go down. So you didn’t look like a looser bowling with bumpers. I will never bowl there again, just because they are hip. It was a waste of my cash and the service was lousy. So watch who your dissin on lady and stop judging books by there covers!!!

Have bowled league there for 3 years. Yes, the lanes can be a challenge(a little drier than some houses, but fairly consistant), but most regular bowlers know that to be a good bowler, one needs to learn to adjust to the lane conditions. Some comments say it is a horrible place. Guess they have never bowled in some of the dives in the Seattle area and south end (like Kent Bowl, Magic Lanes in White Center. They go out of their way to keep league bowling for seniors as cheap as bowling can get. $10 for our league (total including lineage, and free coffee. How many other places are like that? Sure beats that new one at Southcenter that’s nothing but a party house with tables for eating your food almost on the lanes. Bowled there once and damn near blew my knee out when I stuck on food on the approach (staff doesn’t keep things clean). To the person who complained about no credit cards accepted, he’s obviously not a regular bowler because we know that most houses are struggling to stay in business because of the decline of league bowling and must do everything possible to make a decent profit. Just look at all the houses that have gone belly up in the last few years.

Nothing like being in business with a ATM contract agency to get the kickbacks when you point to those; expecting to be able to Pay with Visa.Debit cards to the cash machine. Get with the times !! Wont return

Nice bowling center, freindly staff. Only complaint is that the kids enjoy video games when we go bowling, and the games are not in good shape here like the other surrounding bowls. Other than that, this place is 5 star

Secoma is a great place to bowl. Mike the manager is very accomodating when it comes to putting on special charity bowling events. My company sponsors a charity bowling event 3 times a year and Mike and the staff always contribute to our fun and efforts. The lanes are some of the most challenging in the area, but that is part of what makes it fun. A few of the staff can sometimes be rude or beligerant but all in all Mike’s staff is awesome. Hats off to Frank and the endless energy he has to make all leagues and league bowlers happy. The new menu at the restraunt and the bartenders and the drinks are excellent. I bowl two leagues (both at Secoma) because I perfer the family atmosphere, cleanliness etc. that I don’t find at other establishments. If you are a league bowler, practice bowling is discounted to $2.00, Monday thru Thursday so join a league and have some fun at Secoma.

If people want to bad mouth Secoma Lanes thats fine but just remember we have been under the same ownership since we opened in 1959 and only close the doors once a year to update the center. I cann’t speak for some of our employee’s but being open that long and not closing like other trashed bowling centers. We must be doing something right and thats listening to our customers and making it the best enviroment we can. Thank you for your suport and we hope to see you in Aug. with new mach. and other things.

I bowl here about once every two weeks, and enjoy the place a lot. It’s clean and neat, and they have lots of lanes.
I recently went to the pro shop and bought a ball, bag and shoes. He made a nice deal on the package, checking prices on the web later I found he beat any online prices I could find, and it saved me at least $50 on the package.

Horrible place. Lanes are okay… synthetic approaches and synthetic lanes. People working there are rude and the place is non-accommodating. I can see why there are not many people bowling there. Way too expensive and I didn’t like anyone there with the exception of the pro who was okay. I don’t intend on going there again. No specials, the people there are cheap and anal. ZERO fun.

I got kicked out of this bowling alley thanks to some X-best-friends who are Mentally and Physically Developmentally Delayed (dis)Abled and now I am not allowed to even set foot on the property.
I would like to Legally know who owns the building and the parking lot because I who am also both Mentally and Physically Developmentally Delayed (dis)Abled Citizen and who has Legally lived in the Federal Way; Washington State area from September 18th 1987 to December 2006 would like to Legally make a serious complaint against one of the people that works their her name is Heidi and she is the one that Legally kicked me out of that building.
I would like for Heidi to Legally be fired and I think that they should build another bowling alley closer to The Sea-Tac Mall aka The Commons At Federal Way Mall so that others who are both Mentally and Physically Developmentally Delayed (dis)Abled Citizens can go bowling at the new building.
All I want to do is go back to bowling again.
The people that are involved for getting me Legally kicked out besides Heidi herself are;
Susan *; Jenna *; Kate *; Amy *; Heather *; Kimberly *; and Darlene *; and her husband.{* Surnames Deleted by Moderator}
Please look into my request and see what you can Legally do about this situation.
I look forward to hearing from whom-ever.
Sincerly yours;
Jennie M. Malcolm

I have been bowling at Secoma Lanes all my life! This is a very fun place to take your family. It is smoking they have a bar, restaraunt, and a store where you can buy bowling shoes and balls! This is a great place to go for fun. You can rent out a party room! All in all this is a great place to go bowling!

For all those who asked: Secoma Lanes charges $3.25/per person, per game + $2.50/per pair for shoe rentals. On Fridays and weekends it’s $0.50 more per person per game.

I’ve been to a lot of houses and this is the cleanest and friendliest. They have helped my son and I become very good bowlers. They go out of their way to make our family feel comfortable. A very fun experience I would suggest this house to anyone who wants to learn or just have fun. Thanks Guys.

As a tournament player I have been in most centers in the Northwest. Secoma Lanes is the cleanest best kept center I have ever been in.
Unfortunatly even if the people who act poorly knew the rules they would not follow them – it’s the same everwhere.

This is probably one of the better operations I have been in, in Western Washington. The pros are friendly and helpful…and of course always quick with a fun little jab.
The lanes open up quickly, even when full.

Is this a non-smoking place. Also, how much do you charge per hour? Thanks

Nice clean center, restaraunt and bar employees seem a little rude and immature at times. Front desk staff is pleasent and willing to help. I agree with printing of lane rules might help the out of control people.

Comment Date: 4/16/2004 Name: Ashley Robinson
I think they should add prices and hours on the internet or else how are people supposed to know what time to go? Some people don’t have the luxury of calling all the time and it would be easier if they just posted it on the site along with the other info!!!!

The lanes are good at Secoma Lanes. The main problem I have found is that no one is informing the bowlers of the RULES of the lanes. There are many rude and obnoxious people on the lanes. I think part of the reason for this is that the RULES of lane courtesy are not printed on the lane sheets or given to the people when they register for lanes. Where else will these people learn if not at the bowling alley. Print flyers, put the rules on the overhead screens, do something before someone gets hurt because of their rowdy and rude behavior.
