I had heard that AMF centreville had changed since my last visit in 2005. I was pleasantly surprised to find new manager and new staff that actually work. Everybody seems to be having a good time including the employees. Good food cheap bowling and friendly staff.Great family entertainment.

{Deleted}. AMF Centreville makes more money than ANY other non-300-center alley in the U.S. The reason they employ “kids” is to give them a jumpstart in the working world. Give them a {deleted} break. The lanes are oiled DAILY, i know this because i work there. The league’s are full of {deleted} who think they rule the bowling world, when half of them cant bowl over a 150 and just sit there and get drunk, no wonder the employees hate you, youre a bunch of self-absorbed, ignorant people. And the reason we charge $5 a game? BECAUSE WE CAN. this is northern virginia, people, its not like you dont have money, and by our sales reports, you certainly {deleted} spend it every chance you get. so if youre going to complain about the prices, dont go! We dont need your business anyway.
love always,
one of the “dudes” who works there.

I wanted to go bowling in the middle of the week but was skeptical about getting a lane because of leagues. I stopped by amf centreville and low and behold they had open lanes, so I decided to bowl. This was the first time I was fitted with shoes and a ball from a special room and escorted to my lane, then asked if I would like to place a drink and/or food order and they would bring it to me when it was ready. I could not believe the good customer service I got at a bowling alley, man times have changed. I would recommend this place to everyone thats looking for a good time

Dear Anonymous,
I have to side with Kevin W on this. That is unacceptable procedures for any bowling center. A league pays dues that afford the right to some lane considerations as well as prompt and courteous service by the employees. I hope the manager reads his comments and adjusts management styles. I will have to look elsewhere for a professional bowling center.

…Dude, chill {deleted} out. It’s bowling. And the employees ARE good, by the way. No one likes dealing with a**holes, that was probably why no one wanted to deal with you.

This place is a joke of epic proportions.
I wanted to bowl a 2nd league so joined up on a Monday league as a team had an opening. I showed up for the first time and NO ONE working there knew what the heck was going on, totally unaware of what leagues they had. The manager knew and set me up.
Then the fun starts. I join my team and notice some sticky crap on the area just beyond the approach. I mention it to the dude at the desk and he takes note. The spill is never cleaned up so I just take the long way around. No biggie.
Then I order a drink in the first game and the dude working the drinks gives me Diet Pepsi instead of Pepsi. I tell him no no, I want Pepsi. So he pours out the diet and proceeds to give me DIET Pepsi. I tell him again, noI want Pepsi and then he proceeds to ADD Pepsi to the diet he had started. Finally, he got it right with some coaching.
So I am bowling my league game on 17/18 and notice open bowlers on 20. No biggie and told the guys on my team that as long as 19 stays open I am fine. I finish up the first game (243) and low and behold open bowlers, LOTS OF THEM, are placed on 19. Keep in mind, I have NO PROBLEM having CERTAIN open bowlers beside me during league, but this crew was a bit much. So I shoot a 175 game having to dodge these morons on the lanes.
So the third game comes up and I decide on a new strategy. Make my shots on 18 very quick right after the clowns on the right bowl. I do that I start scoring again, but the 9th frame comes up and guess what? COSMIC BOWLING TIME. Yep, they kill the lights, crank up Slipknot (by the way, the juke box played through the entire night anyhow) and that was that.
I immediately quit the team and the guys said they understood. As I walked out the manager tries to give me some free games. I tell him dont worry about it that I wont need them as Ill never step foot in this center again.
Like already mentioned, the workers are a bunch of unhelpful, rude, ignorant kids who dont appear to be doing any damn thing. While they are standing around they could at least read the names of the leagues they have.
This place is a miserable place and AMF should be ashamed they have ownership of this dive. I will never go here again and will do my very best to warn people not to pizz away your hard earned money on such a horrific establishment.

I went bowling at AMF Centreville on 11/30/2006. It’s very expensive – $5 per person per game (before 6 pm), and $4.50 each to rent a pair of dirty, ragged shoes that must have been 30 years old. Other than that, it was OK, but next time I’ll go to Bowl America in Chantilly, where I usually go.

Service is lousy. They have plenty of employees, but hardly anybody “working.” All employees seem to be young and only interested in hanging out.
Seem to do good business because of the beer and liquor sales, but not sure if they are checking IDs as they should.
They definately cater to a younger crowd. Seem to be more concerned with creating a “club” like atmosphere than they are with bowling.

This place is going in the gutter. The lanes have not been oiled daily for league play over the last couple months. They are now putting open play bowlers right next to league bowlers and charging $5.00 a game for open play. They hid all of the house balls in a special room, and they might start charging to use a house ball.

Very below average – you don’t have enough workers.

Below average reliability of automatic pinsetters and computers.
