I took my family to AMF Stafford, and received 4 star service the whole time I was there. WOW! What a refreshing change from some of the other entertainment venues in Houston. We had the all you can eat pizza program as suggested by the manager Deborah. She was excited about it and told us about summer leagues as well. When we got to the lanes, Craig helped us get set up. We definately will return. The pizza was terriffic and everyone who we came in contact with was just great! Thanks AMF Stafford!

Bowling with a league the lanes are oiled for us prior to bowling (standard among any house). These synthetic lanes though can and will change DRAMATICALLY from one frame to the next. Doesn’t happen every time but often enough that if you are an educated bowler watch what happens every time you throw the ball. Service is good, food is for all practical purposes palatibal, and the mechanics of the lanes (scoring, ball return, rack setup, etc) runs pretty smoothly. It’s obvious that the management has gone out of their way to try to improve your bowling experience here, their biggest advisary is the age of the complex. Sortof like how many more face lifts can Joan Rivers have before she’s laughing through her navel.

The employees are very good when it comes to being friendly and accurate when it comes to getting orders correct. Some of the older men have a problem with their anger management but are not very treataning. The men over populate the women in this place and is kind of unsettling. Izzy is awesome, the game room is up to date and the bar is refreshing. I would return for the Vodka alone but would stay for the compassionate Hosts and Hostesses. Thanks

Generally great service. If you want great food DON’T GO TO A BOWLING ALLEY ! I MEAN ANY BOWLING ALLEY, but the food at this one is as good as most. I bowl here about 1-2 times a month. No severe ball return problems… perhaps once a game. They just updated the screens and the automatic score and spare strategy tips are nice. Izzy is great. The other staff are helpful. Not perfect, but quite good.

Pat was a waste of time, never reported problems to management, and was, in fact, frequently rude.
Currently Stafford Lanes are dry as a bone, despite numerous complaints to management and to AMF. The mechanic oiling the lanes was even rude when he was asked about it. The rest of the staff is polite and try to be helpful but are not knowledgeable and the new GM is often not there on nights he should be.

I work at AMF Bunker Hill, I know 2 of staffords managers very well because they have helped at my center. Most of what everyone is complaining about is ridiculous. Pat is one of the nicest ladies I’ve ever met and I’ve never seen her be rude. She is, however, kinda slow when it comes to closing time :(. If they play oldies music there and you want new stuff, come to my place. Both of our main managers are 24. If your ball doesn’t return then tell an employee and WATCH the person at the counter to make sure they call it to the back…(thats what the big microphones for) Waiting 2 hours for food? thats a flat out lie. When ordering food give the snackbar worker your lane number and it should be out in NO later than 10 minutes (and thats only for burgers and pizzas) or someone will more than likely be fired. If the bartender isn’t at the bar ask another employee where he/she is. Trust me the staff HAS to care about customers…otherwise people get canned. When its closing time IT IS CLOSING TIME. What most people dont understand is that by staying inside the building (especially on extreme nights) it holds up the cleaning process. When closing at 2 in the morning and usually having to stay and clean until 3, you dont want anything to hold you there longer… if you cant get enough of the place then come back tomorrow. Also, we have to get all customers out so we can lock all the doors while we clean. its a safety thing. As for lanes not working all the time, i have news for everyone. When i last checked, Stafford only had 1 mechanic on staff. Our center has 4 with both of our managers trained to be mechanic as well. Something must have happened but i personally know the regional manager and i know for a fact she has been working to fill all the positions that are in need of help at not only stafford, but at alpha, clear lake, and my center as well. AMF is a great company, and many people dont understand how hard people work to keep these centers running

Well I was there and the Lady Bartender – was kind of in her own little world – she may have been drunk or on drugs, I told the manager and he said that is how she always is. I hope she gets into a program and gets herself cleaned up, I am worried about her working around so many kids.

I don’t know what your all talking about.. service it’s a bowling alley not a restaurant worry about service if your sitting at the bar otherwise go get your food. All the times I have gone the staff was great and all the equipment worked.. if your ball is getting stuck on the lane you need to throw it harder…lol. Anyways I give Stafford Lanes a 10 it’s a nice clean place to bowl and have fun… plus they’ve got a full bar.@@!!!

All I hear are complaints about the people working at the bowling alley…. well I am here to say, what makes you think that they are the ones being rude…. I bowl there twice a week and I see how rude most of the people are when they come in and try and get a lane…. most people don’t realize it that bowling alleys don’t make money by waiting around for the average Joe to come in and bowl…. “THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY FROM THE LEAGUES THAT BOWL” If the alley waited around for you to come in off of the street and bowl they would have closed down years ago…. so remember when you come in and bowl you don’t make the bowling alley “THE LEAGUES MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO HAVE SOME WHERE TO GO AND HAVE FUN”….. so try and have a little patience it takes a lot to keep the lanes working and make the people happy…..

I bowl here once a week. The lanes are okay but the equipment in the back is in need of major repair. Every week something is not working whether it is the ball return, screen or the foul buzzer. The waitress seems to be in the clouds somewhere, though I have to admit has gotten better since being hired. For the most part the staff is okay. Peyton is very cool though. Food is standard bowling alley fare. All in all, if it wasn’t for the fact that most of the people I have bowled with for the last several years bowled here I would look for a more updated bowling alley that actually has equipment that works on a consistant basis.

Well, the service here has not changed much since the last comments from the previous people. They are still rude and the food is not better than your local crap fast food place. The only reason they stay in business is their location, as there are not many lanes close around the area. You would think since the kind of affluent area this place is their service/quality of bowling would have improved over time but since they remain the only one there, they could care le$$.

The service is terrible! We had to wait 2 hours for plain nachos last time. When they finally brought it to us, it was cold and the chips were stale. Tried to get drinks from the bar also, the bartender was nowhere to be found. When it’s closing time… IT’S CLOSING TIME… No matter what!! They kick you out in a rude manner, which doesn’t make you feel very welcome.

I been there like 2 times, the lane were bad, my ball was stuck there like 5 times and have to wait 10 min to get it out! I would never go there again!

I bowl here 4 nights a week, mostly out of convenience as it is around the corner from my apartment. I like this house very much, but I do have some beefs with them. Leagues take up every lane and never finish before 9:30 so you can not bowl until almost 10 pm. You can not bowl on Saturday because all of the lanes are taken by birthday parties. The manager on Monday and Wednesday night, Pat, is extremely rude to anyone who bowls after 10 pm, even on weekends. The rest of the staff is wonderful (especially Mandi, Jamie, David, & Tim who are very accomodating). The lanes at this center are typically good, but the ball returns are ball eaters, and sometimes gash your bowling balls. They will have your ball fixed for you free of charge however if this happens. The food is normal for a bowling center and the music they play is older than my grandmother.

The manager (Tony) was very rude to me and my children. We were having Austin’s 5th birthday party, and the manager spilled sodas on the kids, the pizza was halfway cooked, the service was horrible. If you want your child to have a safe birthday party….don’t take them to Stafford Lanes!
