My family and I went bolwing at Fox Swamp Lanes today. It seemed dirty, out dated, and expensive. It cost $34.00 for two adults and two young children to bowl two games. Really??? The ball return didn’t return the balls several times, and contrary to previous posts, no, the balls are not nice. The scoring/pin system reset on us several times (resetting the pins between first and second ball) but still showed as being on the first ball, which obviously caused the scoring to be off. We decided before we were even finshed bowling that we would not be returning and would rather make the drive to Summerville or Goose Creek for a decent, clean and quality bowling experience. Our decision was re-enforced when we went to pay and were in shock at the prices they charged us.

I work with the youth bowlers and this establishment is the best. The owners and league bowlers are all for helping our youth have a great time and learn to bowl. They go out of the way to help our youth and am proud to be a associated with this bowling center. so come on out and see what a great place this really is. Just ask the regulars how they feel. Swamp Fox isn’t just a bowling center it is a place to come and have fun with family and friends..

The place is dirty,,,bartenders are lazy as hell,,,,,a big disappointment,,not the same place as it was 5 or 6 years ago.It use to be a great place to bowl leagues but now only a few teams on each league,,,,,Lots of complaints about mgr and lack of concern for low turn out for new leagues,,Time for a new manager and new bartenders,

Me and some friends went here this past weekend. Very basic bowling alley. They use just regular chairs, not the typical ones that are bolted to the floor like you see in all other alleys. Also, a friend of mine that went did not want to bowl but just wanted to sit and have a few beers. They charged her $5.00 to just sit there. What the hell? NEVER have I been to a bowling alley that charges you to just sit there.

ok “robert” people go to bowl not drink so the bartenders have nothing to do with the bowling area. It is very friendly enviroment and very fun and enjoyable. nice balls, clean shoes, great lanes and cheap

Very nice establishement! Restaurant has great food. Can be a little slow in the peak times as expected.
Pros: good lanes, great scoring computers (very new), decent house balls, friendly helpful staff. Reasonable bowling rates and discounts.
Cons: Ball returns need an overhaul. Have been known to chop chunks out of balls on some lanes. This is a BIG bugaboo!
Overall, love to bowl here. If the ball returns are replaced/reworked, it will be a top notch grade A bowling establishment!

We went here Oct 2009 to practice for an upcoming tournament. We usually bowl on synthetic lanes. These lanes have a increased back-end break. The return is really old technology but the scoring system is very nice. We had never seen our ball speed before. The computer guidance suggestion for your spare shot is very nice for the occasional bowler. Game printout is outstanding, all pins are shown. Now, on to the good part. There were only a few patrons the hour we visited, regardless, the staff was remarkably polite and knowledgable. The times that I am treated so courteously by staff in a retail establishment amount to very few per year. We were offered tips, schedules, up front warnings about ball break and they oiled our 2 lanes first, a considerate offer, so we could get to the game.
Youth rates are lower than adult and seem average. If this house was closer, I would call it home.

I have been bowling at Swamp Fox for the past five years. It is the best. Yes it is a challenge. It is a wonderful family bowling alley. When you walk into this bowling alley you feel welcome. Everyone is very friendly. And don’t forget the food. They have a wonderful restaurant and great food. My opinion, best bowling alley.

If this establisment is so accommodating why would they not allow parents to watch their children bowl with out paying. In the society that we currently live in one would think that any business would appreciate parents that wanted to supervise their children. During our visit we were told that in order to be in the alley we had to pay or go to the bar. We asked to speak to the owner, however he never showed. This also spoke volumes about the type of establishment we were in.

I struggle in this house, and I go back every year I can for the IRONMAN. The shot at Swamp Fox is like a mountain that challenges me to climb it. I will be back,.

I bowl in this house several nights a week. It might not be the easiest shot in Charleston, but it sure does make you work at your game. If you love this game as much as I do, then a little challenge is rewarding. Sometimes frustrating but that’s the name of any game. I commend the management for being friendly and fair. It’s not easy to run an establishment…and never forget..YOU WON’T PLEASE EVERYONE!! But the people that support the center we call home will be around for a long time….good scores and good bowling to all!
