A great big thank you to Walnut Hill for the addition of the pro-shop, Custom Pro-Fit. It’s great to be able to be serviced in house with guys that know how to drill a bowling ball that works!

Stop by and check out the new Flat Panel Screens at WHB. We placed a new pair on 17 & 18 to show off what league bowlers can expect next year. hope you enjoy them. More coming very soon.

Sorry wrong lanes!
Walnut Hill has a great Pro-Shop!

Hope Lang’s can set up a pro-shop like EP has, the owner of the Pro-shop had a demo there from the ball company, awesome way to try new products! Affordable as well!

Comment Date: 3/24/2012 Name: EP Bowler
@ Average bowler, you said a mouthful about the pro-shop, both guys KNOW what they are doing for sure! To be in a business like that (self-employment) for over 30 years says it all.
We are glad to have that service in EP as well!

Nice benefit added to Walnut Hill Bowling Center, a Pro-Shop with guys that can drill, talk bowling & give advise about the game!
A bonus for sure!

Hats off to Walnut Hill for allowing Custom Profit to open up the pro shop! This is one of the best benefits a bowling center can provide to the bowlers! We are so glad to have this service and so glad we have to Dave & Tim drilling the equipment! Awesome guys with AWESOME service! Thanks WN Hill & Bob!

So pleased that we now have a Pro-shop with a owner that services Walnut Hill. Thank you Walnut Hill!
We the bowlers are very happy with this added bonus!

@ EP Bowler you are 100% correct. EP needs to look in the mirror for sure. They DID HAVE THE BEST MANAGER EVER.EP hired him as the GM but they didn’t let him be the GM! If they had allowed him to manage as he saw fit,EP would be in the top 3 centers instead they are in the tank sinking!
No worry Karma
On a positive note we are thrilled we have Custom Pro-Fit II is here!!!! The best of the best! Dave is well respected in the Bowling World, there isn’t another Rhode Islander that can match his knowledge, contacts and most of ALL his EXPERIENCE in the game of bowling!
Good luck Dave!

@Bowlerwithaclue The Independants are usually better as stated however the one that could ue lots of improvement is EP. They change managers every 6 to 18 months? They need to look in the mirror to see who the problem is,it will hit them in the face! Get the family out of the business!
EP had one of the best managers in the bowling world, but guess what, yep gone! The present manager is by far one of the worse ever! He lacks people skills for sure with employees and patrons!
Walnut Hill ownership is hands on!

Thanks for every ones patience as the recent wind storm and resulting power surges fryed several scoring hard drives. If you didn’t see the owner perhaps he was working hard to get things back on line ASAP. We try very hard to give all of you the two best bowling centers in New England (OML and WHB).

Comment Date: 1/10/2012 Name: Bowlerwithaclue
T all of the bowling centers in RI fall into the realm of “easy” when it comes to scoring conditions. However I do not understand why you would promote AMF Cranston. The centers with the most consistent and numerous honors scores on a proportionate basis considering size and number of bowlers have been 1) Old Mountain Lanes 2) Alley Katz 3) Walnut Hill 4) EP Lanes. The independents also offer flexibility, lower prices, and friendlier owners/staff…something that will not be found at Craaaaanston.

Comment Date: 1/4/2012 Name: thebowlinggod
From what I heard at bowling these guys had a hell of a time getting things back up after a power surge or something knocked everything out and caused damage. I love bowling here I think once a new manager is hired things can get even better but it’s a good idea to take time and find someone that listen to us when we have complaints and do the job right not get some jerk right away…we’ll see who’s next.

@ Aaron if you are looking for “good” looking ladies, stay at Walnut Hill,I stopped there a few weeks ago and the place was rocking. The bar was busy compared to many other bowling centers I frequent within a 50 mile radius.
East Providence lanes definitely need to “hire” some eye candy to service the bowlers instead of keeping family members employed. Its great to keep it in the family however once in a while you need to step out of the box and add some sweets to the mix.
Have a great season 2012

@ John F. I agree with you, Dave Abate is the best there is! Has tons of experience in this field, former PBA member, working with the Pro’s etc. He also has a great assistant working the shop.
He also did well managing the center,we the bowlers are not to happy he was replaced.
We’ll all be stopping in to see him there (Walnut Hill ) and throwing some games for sure.
Good choice by the owner here.

I am a regular patron at this establishment and I feel that things there are sharply turning downhill there. The old manager was a bit goofy but at least he was people friendly, if we had a problem with anything, he was always quick to take care of things to the best of his ability. He could’ve done better with the staff though. But from what I understand, there were mixed issues there as well. The last two weeks there have been pretty bad there though and I have yet to see any hints of a new manager or the owner himself. We bowl in a league on Wednesday nights and we didnt have automated scoring, which isnt that big of a deal except that most of the bowlers dont know how to keep score by hand. And then the next night was even worse…I ordered a burger and it took them an hour to bring it out. I am a pretty patient person but I think there needs to be at least more management there or at least in the building when the larger leagues are bowling. As far as pricing, its pretty fair compared to the traditional bowling centers in the area. Overall, its a cool place to take the family for a night out but if you are a league bowler with half a clue (higher average) then you are better off trying AMF Cranston or East Providence Lanes. As far as staff, I find Nick to be very helpful and there’s a guy who works the desk named Dave who is great. The food there is decent and the bar service is average at best. But what can you expect, its a bowling alley. However, if you can help it, East Providence is a better option.

Custom Pro-Fit II (Dave Abate) Pro Shop will be opening in Walnut Hill Bowl in mid December…Thanks Bob Toth this was needed !

Everyone knows it’s that new manager he’s a gooftard, but talk around there is he’s leaving anyway so hopefully whoever is taking his place will get everyone back in line. I still like it as one of the best centers in the state to bowl but it needs a cool manager in the bowling alley for sure.

Comment Date: 11/20/2011 Name: league Bowler
Wow this place is really starting to fall apart, There’s plenty of employees working at one time but they dont do nothing, and when they do stuff they mess it up, TIME TO RETRAIN YOUR STAFF !!! And the lanes have been terrible for weeks now. This is gonna be the last year my team bowls here if they dont fix it.

Comment Date: 9/29/2011 Name: @Chad R
You obv arent a league member, or werent. I like it there now the place is under new management and has gotten rid of all the a**h*les.

Comment Date: 8/21/2011 Name: Chad R
I’ve never had a problem with the guys that work here, I always have a good time I think nick might just be a crybaby?

Comment Date: 4/1/2011 Name: Nick
I know I’ve given many positive comments, but this place is going down fast. The staff is being very rude, and its almost like they take it for granted that I’m going to keep coming back. I might not go back after this league. And I’m serious.

Comment Date: 2/26/2011 Name: Birthday party parent
HI,we have our kids birthday parties there every year, and tiffany has been there for most of our parties, she is always very helpful and polite to us. Also we bowl there on a regular basis and see the manager all the time, He is very friendly and always willing to talk with us. We have never had any problems with any of the staff, they are all great and i would recommend this place to everyone. Keep up the good work Walnut hill bowl.

Dude, shes just like that. Don’t take it personally. If she’s in a mood, she is pissy with everyone. But there are plenty of people there that provide great customer service. I urge you to give them another chance. Just go later at night when I can assure you that she is not working. The manager is there all the time. So you can talk to him if they’re giving you {deleted}. He’ll take care of them and probably give you your money back and let you bowl for the rest of the time. He is a great manager. GO BACK 🙂

I went there over the weekend to book a party for my six year old son after reading the reviews on this place it seem like a nice place well I went there and I was very happy how clean it was and the money the owner put into this place so I go to the counter and talked with Tiffany she had an attiude with me and kind of threw the book at me to fill out my info so I filled the paper out and gave it back to her then she started talking to this kid while entering my info into the computer and I’m waiting there so I decided to go into the acrade where my kids were so she came over to me and said I need a $25 dollar deposit to hold the party well I said on the paper it states to put a dep 4 days before the party so I guess she didn’t know so she cheacked and now she was pissed off because I was right and tells me that’s wrong I’m changing it now and I said well are you the manager she said no and now I waiting for the manager to call me Jeff and I guess he only works nights they should have one on during the day and maker sure there customers are being treated fair. I believe you have to have customer service or your bussiness will lose money. I never write reveiws but the way Tiffany treated me still bothers me.

I love this place. I have only had one pinsetter break down on me. However, today I was VERY surprised when I went in for my leagues and HALF OF THE LANES WERE BROKEN!!! I am not complaining, this was very shocking. The staff was still able to accommodate our leagues, just moving us way down on the other side. You have never failed Walnut Hill Bowl! KEEP IT UP!

Me and my friends love this place and go every week and have never had a bad experience.
Someone should take a dump on this anonymous 12 year old’s parents for letting him on the internet.

Comment Date: 3/10/2010 Name: Anonymous
This place is a dumpster within a dump. Dump dump dump. I think we should all bowl a game and then takeadump on the place.
Thanks for the fun game of bowling.

Robert Toth has turned this former pit around. It has been totally renovated. The bowling lanes are well kept, the food is great, and the bar rocks!

Comment Date: 11/18/2008 Name: Kurt
I bowl here quite often and find the staff very good over all. The lounge looks fantastic, the food is quite good and the place is much better than when Brunswick had it. The fact that the owner is a person who bowls up here, will listen to what you have to say and seems to care makes a big difference than some big company who only wants the money but doesn’t care what kind of service they give. The owner put in lots of money and effort to make this place nice for the town and we should support it as much as possible. A big asset to Woonsocket!

I think this is easily the best alley I’ve been to in RI and I say this with the experience of having bowled in several tournaments throughout the years as well as participating in a travel league.

It is a great place to spend a few hours with family and friends, they have a sports bar, as well as casual food like nachos and slurpees.
I highly reccomend you RESERVE A LANE. This place is very popular!

Comment Date: 5/26/2008 Name: aaron
This place is awesome. There is a sports bar there called The Back Alley Pub. Prices are reasonable, and there are plenty of tv’s, great burgers, good looking girls.

Comment Date: 2/9/2008 Name: john cutuit
They don’t understand how to run a bowling alley. I felt overlooked and embarassed the entire time I was bowling. When I asked for help I was forced to wait for countless minutes for the girl to get off the phone with her boyfriend. I will never go back and feel obligated to tell people how horrible this alley is!

Comment Date: 1/4/2008 Name: 2 lites and a coke
The renovations are coming along quite well. One of my favorite things at this alley is the service, especially Del “My Dear”, the lane waitress and Harry “My Dear”, the bartender… What a team! Keep up the great work! Thank You!!!

i think the owners and management at walnut hill shuold be commended for doing an excellant job rebuilding this center. congratulations.

I’m a very dedicated bowler that bowls at the lanes in woonsocket and i have to say that it is a hell of a lot better than other places i have been, the lanes are always oiled the right amount and who cares about the arcade not being done and all the other stuff not being done, a bowling alley is to bowl…..and bowling is what i do

Comment Date: 2/12/2007 Name: Keith
It’s true that the renovation is still in progress, but the facility was opened before it was complete in order to accomodate bowling leagues that would have usually started in September (I bowl in a couple). Better we can bowl now than wait for the entire building to be redone.
Anyway, the new synthetic lanes are a joy to bowl on and the updated scoring system is just what we needed. I can only imagine how amazing the place will be once the entire renovation is complete. Before it closed last year the place was completely run down so I’m glad that the guy who bought it is breathing some life into it and giving it the care that it desperately needed. It’s a work in progress but any bowler knows that quality lanes and scoring are the most important part, so I’m glad that was taken care of first.

Comment Date: 1/29/2007 Name: Bill
They have re-opened. Still in a bit of shambles, unfinished renovation. I bowled there 1/27/07. I wasn’t impressed. I remember when this alley was great, back in the 70’s. It sparkled then. Looks more like an arcade now. Needs a snack bar and pro shop. WEB site is also under construction.

brunswick is a fun place to go except i think they should do more things for the teenagers and the kids that go there because the game room gets boring after a while

Your bowling center would probably be a lot better if you either had a manager that was there a little more often, or even a new manager. Other than that your center is great

Comment Date: 7/4/2004 Name: Dave
Great place to spend a night with the family. All you can bowl Monday can’t be beat. Thanks Walnut Hill.
