Erie Lanes get’s it done. I’ve been bowling there weekdays since May 2011 and have no complaints at all. There are alont of regulars there who are friendly and competitive bowlers. The center is clean and the staff attentive. The mid-day weekday $1.00 games are perfect for practice time. There are occasions where kids are distracting but I’ve experienced this at Facenda, Wynnewood, Boulevard, and Brunswick Zone etc. This website’s description states no food and no pro shop. This is not correct as both exist at this house as of this posting. If you’re at this center on weekdays at around 4PM you’ll witness the lanes being oiled before league play, every day. As for the atmosphere and experience, you be the judge. Drop by between 2PM and 5PM Mon. to Fri. to take advantage of the $1.00 games and see for yourself.

Maybe i just happened to go at the right time (not at night), but i love erie lanes!!! sure the outside is a bit ghetto, i don’t care!! the people are pretty nice, the inside looks like a million dollars, probably even better than when brunswick had it. and those $ 1 games on weekdays 3-5 are RAD!! good oiling pattern too. yeah the computers are older fashioned but with such good prices and clean inside surroundings it ok with me. I really have NO complaints! for me personally its conveniently located; just a mile down street from Whitehall skate-park. hope to return soon!!!

Reading the comments before. I would suggest anyone unhappy with erie lanes email the owner. I bowl there 2-3 times a week and know him and his son. They are both very good people and want nothing more than to make people in the community feel welcome in their establishment. Customer service is their #1 goal.

I live in te junitata community. I don’t not recommend going to Erie Lanes because their service is horrendous. The staff are so ignorant they do not know how to service their costumors. There is this one girl who is very ignorant and always gives you an attitude. Prior to that. Go somewhere else where they have better service.

I am an outsider to the Juniata community (from the north west section of Philly) and would consider bowling at Erie Lanes. I visited ONCE and left feeling like I would return. I felt like the atmosphese was acceptable and pricing very reasonable. I would and will recommend this place to my friends based alone on my one visit. I’m hoping that my only visit wasn’t mirrage. In offering a final comment, I’d suggest that people take up the owner on any reasonable complaints that they may have. My criteria for an enjoyable bowling experience is to have a decent clean environment with reasonable pricing with functionable mechanicals so balls are returned and pins are set within industry expectations. ALSO, the bolwing neighbors on the adjoining lanes have to respect bowling ettiquette. If this criteria is met at Erie Lanes, I’ll be telling my abundant number of friends to go there. And their friends will tell their friends etc etc. But I need more visits to evaluate with conclusiveness. I hope to be giving a resounding “thumbs up”

Our goal at Erie Lanes is to provide a fun and safe family center to enjoy good times together. As far as our pricing go I am sorry you feel we are too high priced. Have you gone to a movie lately or to another recreational facility ??? Our pricing is a good value especially when you choose a family value package. We are always open to hear your comments and implement any ideas you may have for us if they will make our center better. Just e-mail me directly at Thank you 🙂

I live right down the road from the Erie Lanes. I very much enjoy going to bowl there weekly and feel the staff does a great job at making the place fun. I have read some of the comments regarding the problems but I will tell you I don’t see anything other then a fun place to go bowl and play pool.

I would just like to add to the neighborhoods comments about the center. If you have any concerns about the center you should come in and talk to the owner, he really cares and wants to run a fun and safe bowling center.

Recently stop by the center to bowl a few games. The Center is under new Management. What a difference. Clean, well lit, updated food menu, and the staff is very attentive and pleasant. This is not the old Erie Lanes. This is a big improvement. Plus they have all new HD TVs so you can watch the games while you bowl. Also, check out their new website at If you sign up for their VIP program, you’ll get some free game coupons sent to you via email.

Erie Lanes is now under new management since August 2009. It is no longer a Brunswick Center. You should see the changes. Its a nice place for family fun.
The food is good, the prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly.

its a shame how strret road bowling lanes would have it all 2gether-i mean look at the location-all white people–u get my point

Erie lanes s*ck. It’s better at Brunswick on Street road. They have an arcade, Laser tag, Pool tables, Flat screens T.V.’s & 2 fully stocked bars. Did I mention the fireplace? Oh yeah not that many black people if any. I’m not racist, I’m black.

Comment Date: 8/25/2008 Name: Unknown
Erie has gotten worse through out the years. My car was keyed from front to back. Equipment. What equipment??? Lanes are always breaking down and they use old and cracked bowling pins. There bowling pins are also different in weight. The food is so, so. Hot dogs pretty good, but the rest I’ll eat it if that’s the only thing left to eat. If you order a shot at the bar you’ll get a half a shot at the full price. As for the employees there’s no problem there. Great employees.

Comment Date: 7/14/2008 Name: LaLa
Me and my girls go to Erie Lanes almost every weekend…the food may not be all that great and it may not be in the best neighborhood, but it is the place to to go if u really want to have a good time with your ppl…the employees are real cool and helpfull and i have not had one bad experience in all the years i been goin there

i love ur boelin lane its the best me and my goons go there all the time yall bowlin alley got the sexyiest ladys in philly an yall employees r mad cool

The neighborhood is horrible. There is a parking lot behind the center, and cars are frequently broken into and vandalized. I had all 4 of my hubcaps stolen and my side view mirror broken off when I parked in their lot. They hired a guard to watch the lot, but he is one guy, and can’t be everywhere all the time. You’re better off parking on the street.
I also always had problems at this center with rude and obnoxious people. Also, the condition of the lanes and equipment was never the best.

I bowled here and the lanes were oiled quite nicely. The people were respectful and 7 bucks for 2 hours is ok for me. I read the comments about the food, but people are forgetting it’s a bowling alley. What do you expect, filet mignon?
I bowl and drink. I eat elsewhere. Roll on, bowlers of the world!

Comment Date: 5/26/2007 Name: A faithful Customer
I have been always been a faithful customer to Erie lanes bowling center. i have been coming here for many years with friends and family. I am there on different days of the week and differnt hours. My most enjoyable time I would have to say is in the mornings. The morning staff is much more friendly and helpful to everyones needs. There is never a wait time to get your lane fixed and everyone is eager to help you out when needed. The night staff does not take pride in their jobs and have very poor attitudes. The wait time is horrible and trying to get help is almost impossible. The snackbar employees are very rude when they are actually at their stations. Trying to get something to eat just seems like a hassle anymore. So for anyone who would like to go bowling Erie lanes is a good place to bowl, as long as you make your visit during the day. It is alot less crowded, the atmosphere is is good, the staff is very friendly and willing to help. At this time I will remain a faithful customer but will be limiting my time to mornings and afternoons. Managers due yourself and your company a favor and hire more people like your morning staff.

Erie is not the place to go people. The employees there do not do their jobs, the lanes are a disgrace, the prices are outrageous, the food tastes like cardboard, and the equipment leaves scratches and gashes into your bowling balls.

I’v been bowling at Erie Lanes for 9 years and the only complaint I have is about the thugs they let in. A majority of the people that come to Erie Lanes are rude, obnoxious, and inconciterate. If you plan on coming to Erie make sure you avoid those people that will anger and aggitate you.

Erie Lanes is a good bowling place but they have to consider playing different music in cosmic bowling. Same music is always playing. Maybe some reggaeton could do the trick. Thanks, Pac

I am very disappointed in the condition of the lanes. I am a sanctioned league bowler and have bowled at several houses and I can not believe the poor lane conditions at Erie I use Sunday to better my game, but when I get there the conditions of the lanes are very poor. There is never any oil on the lanes i’m lucky if i can even get a lane because they always have lanes 1-17 reserved for tournaments that people never show up for. I have been bowling at Erie for a very long time and I have never been so disappointed as I am since brunswick took over. I really hope brunswick takes all the comments and complaints serious and and tries to fix the problems sincerly J,Miller

I love the lanes, they are very easy to score on and let me carry a high average. I wish everyone would stop and check out Erie lanes. Management is also very good, they go out of their way to make my every visit a positive one. Thank you Mr. Carpineta for a wonderful experience.
