And so, the painting goes on. Fortunately the weather has cooled a bit keeping the air conditioning from being as much of an issue. And maybe when they get a chance someone could actually do something with the foul detectors. It seems some of them don’t work and managements only statement is that some of them are “not working”. In the past, if approached by someone questioning the foul light situation, the bowling alley would attempt to repair them or at least apologize and set a schedule for their repair. I remember when bowling centers were expected to have these working to keep their certification up to date. But certifications and maintenance have all gone the way of the dinosaur along with checking lane conditions after all major accomplishments.

Comment Date: 3/26/2012 Name: senior bowler
And so, the painting goes on. Maybe if they finish before it gets too warm they’ll get around to running the air conditioning at a reasonable pace this summer. But, as I said last year, the “free open bowling” gets more expensive every year. And, raising the ante in the middle of an economy like this one can be costly. When this is all over we’ll see who gets the leg up on the post depression bowling business. Viva la painting!!!

Comment Date: 3/1/2012 Name: senior bowler
So, it seems that the painting is on schedule to be ready for the new fall season. Oh, by the way, bowler I’ve been practicing more so that I’ll have at least half a clue. While doing this practice I’ve noticed that the approaches could use their semi-annual cleaning. Also, with all of the improvements, it would be nice if someone paid some attention to the paper towel dispensers in the rest rooms. But they may be on the schedule when the crack crew gets finished with the painting.

Comment Date: 12/31/2011 Name: Bowler
Dear Senior Bowler, Maybe if you went out and practiced a little, instead of sitting in front of a computer complaining. You then wouldn’t have to worry about lack of oil, approaches, new arcade games, masking units, gutters and bumpers, ect. ect. Just once maybe you would a half a clue!!!

Comment Date: 12/19/2011 Name: senior bowler
So now Al needs to change the masking units, put in new gutters, and put into use a computer system that came from who knows where. Wouldn’t it be cool if, just once, limerick bowlers got a new system as opposed to something out of some other place that either upgraded or went under. (Many of the fantastic features of this new system were available at another local establishment until a few months ago.)

Comment Date: 11/23/2011 Name: senior bowler
Yo, waste of time, maybe you’re wasting your time bowling when you need to study your english grammar. And, so little time to relax, remember they had to be goaded into cleaning the approaches since no one seems to notice them until some dude blogs about them on the internet On the other hand the general maintenance has gone down a peg since Jim Paster became a part time employee. When he was full time he was on top of all the problems much sooner. Now the staff is more reactive as opposed to being pro active. Overall though CHB is still one of the best run organizations around and that’s why they keep chugging along and not being devastated by the foul economy. And, last but not least, I’m sure the new scoring system (?) will be for open bowlers only. LOL

Comment Date: 10/28/2011 Name: So little time to relax
They must really hate league bowlers. Just refinished the approaches for us. New TVs so we could watch some sports while we bowl. Now I hear there is also a new scoring system coming. Being so hated and getting so much. Will they make us league bowlers use the old scoring system also?

Comment Date: 10/24/2011 Name:  Waste Of Time
Why talk to management. They never listen to what the league bowlers say. They are spending all of our money to do construction so they can bring in there open play. Why not spend our money which is why there doors are still open to install new ball returns. I bet there are alot of bowlers that would want that. We dont care about the open play, they should be taking care of our needs. This place is a waste. And they wonder why they lose some of there league bowlers.

Comment Date: 9/23/2011 Name: senior bowler
I guess no one really reads this website any more. (I always suspected no one from limerick bowl ever did). Now, several years into the recession they seem to feel a need to cut maintenance to save money
and we now see the chinks in the old masonry, so to speak. it’s been a long time since you could get an open lane during the first shift leagues during the regular season any night of the week. Maybe they need to go back to basics and start remembering what brought them to the prominence they held in this area after they rescued the infamous 422 Bowl from the ignominious fate it faced and recently recently befell Phoenix Lanes.

Comment Date: 7/19/2011 Name: senior bowler
And, while I’m on a rant, why not mention the approaches. Some are having a problem sticking but, beyond that, the staining and markings on the approaches screams out for a serious session with a buffer. (last time I recall this being done was about a week after Bill Gay stated unequivocally that the approaches would never be touched by a buffer). Soon thereafter Bill Gay was on his way back to California.

Comment Date: 7/12/2011 Name: senior bowler
Must not be anyone else who cares about the lane conditions for the seniors Certainly not management. It’s obvious that you get what you pay for and the free open bowling is getting more expensive every summer. Even sport shot lane conditions have a little back end.

Comment Date: 3/17/2011 Name: senior bowler
seems as if I’m the only one who cares enough to comment. Also seems as if they feel they’re saving money by not stripping the lanes as efficiently as is possible.Of course that does not affect the crankers (who throw pins around with impunity) or the Bykota league (I’m sure the back ends are clean on Tuesday nite)

Comment Date: 10/15/2010 Name: senior bowler
Been busy and haven’t posted anything for a while. Yes martin & lewis are a really funny pair. Apparently they were never young & its been 50+ years since even the big time leagues wore ties. Also, the nitwit that posted a blog on 6/5/2010 saying they were “chris b”, could never be confused with Chris Buser. Not only are their statements totally stupid but their command of the English language is that of a first grade student. (hope that doesn’t insult first graders)

Comment Date: 9/28/2010 Name: Dave
Dear Martin and Lewis you are the comedy team…right? You have completely destroyed what America stands for..FREEDOM! I’m a vet also and I’m ashamed of you both, go back to vaudville!

Comment Date: 9/14/2010 Name: Lewis
As a former vet myself, I would like to see some of these young ‘people’ taught manners, or at least simple bowling etiquette.
Is it too much to ask for a shirt and tie dress code? or at least to ban all non veterans or people under 65?

Comment Date: 9/11/2010 Name: Martin
This place would be better if they only let veterans or people over 55 in to bowl.
Or they could implement a test on bowling etiquette, and make young ‘people’ swear to wear dress shirts and trousers (and would proper neckties be asking too much?)
Some of us veterans fought for the freedoms you are enjoying, like the freedom to bowl, and this is how you thank us.

Comment Date: 8/16/2010 Name: Dave
It’s really beyond me why anyone can write anything negative about Limerick Bowl! As a senior league bowler its really the place to be. Where else can you spend 3 plus hours bowling in a league for 10-11-12 dollars? The house pays our sanction fees they supply us with a free drink and quality atmosphere! I especially enjoy knowing the veterans who bowl there, these WWII and Korean vets, who by the way are now rapidly becoming extinct have some grand stories to tell! Concerning compliants about the kids and the dress code…..well these kids and their parents pay to bowl and that allows Limerick bowl to give the seniors all those benefits such as free games etc. so the more kids the better! Concerning the dress code,I as a 64 year old to see an attractive girl in a becoming outfit can only enhance my bowling!!

Comment Date: 8/6/2010 Name: shootout bowler
i must say limerick is putting out a great shot but i dont understand why the oil is drying so fast all of the sudden……the past 3-4 weeks the lanes get dry by mid second game if it last that long….but it is a good shot while it lasts

Comment Date: 6/5/2010 Name: chris b
i really as the one who runs this place can’t censor any one i mean what am i god just go back under the rock you live under i mean can you stop people from wearing anything i mean i am just glad the people where anything at all just go bowl somewhere else

Comment Date: 3/26/2010 Name: league member
for the most part i like limerick bowl. i think there should be somewhat of a dress code. people wear shirts with inappropriate things and this establishment is supposed to be family oriented. i hate to complain but when i bring my 8 year old in and she wants to know what some shirts sayings mean, i am speechless. i find myself not wanting to bring my children, and at times i feel offended personally.

Comment Date: 3/16/2010 Name: a
Limerick does not care about having a family friendly environment. Last week a kid was hit twice and the parents got involved but limerickbowl wont do anything becuase the one family bowled there for years so they can threaten people and let thier kids beat up other kids without being thrown out

Comment Date: 2/20/2010 Name: mommybowl
All the banter back and forth on this website is hi-fricken-larious!

Comment Date: 2/19/2010 Name: Martin
I happen to be a retired vet and i think all the young people they let in this bowling alley are disgraceful. always making noise and having fun to the point where its hard to concentrate. They also turn out the lights and i wear spectacles, which makes it hard to see the lanes. also one young ‘man’ called me ‘old timer,’ and the woman at the desk refused to kick him out.

Comment Date: 2/16/2010 Name: Anonymous
I think Limerick has a nice program for kids the week of presidents day everyone should go if they have kids

Comment Date: 7/16/2009 Name: WOW
Senior Bowler- Why dont you bring this up in the meeting instead of just putting it online. You will only get results if you bring it to everyones atttention. For the bar manager situation, I agree. If a employee can drink and get in fights with customers and still have his job, there is something wrong with that. I guess no one will ever get fired from there. Ive seen employees there get suspended because they talk to a customer the wrong way. I dont think it is safe for any kids there because he is always in the alley part and kids are always out there. I think management needs to get them selves in check and deal with this situatin before they get sued.

Comment Date: 7/1/2009 Name: senior bowler
Sorry, I’ve been busy. Unfortunately “another bowler” you misunderstand my intentions. If anything my average is higher than I would choose if I had a choice. My concerns are the average senior citizen bowlers who are here to have some fun while bowling to keep active. They aren’t looking for perfect games but when the lane conditions won’t allow some of the older members of the league to keep the ball on their own side of the lane due to reduced ball speed the condition should be addressed.

Comment Date: 6/30/2009 Name: sir bowls alot
Limerick Bowl is a great place but it does have some issues that need to be worked on. The food is great and the staff is very friendly. They need to do something about the bar manager. Someone who drinks in the parking lot, picks fights, and texting people on his phone constantly should not be working there. I hope they fix that cause it is the biggest problem they have right now. I would recommend limerick bowl to anyone who wanted to have fun and get some good food.

Comment Date: 4/9/2009 Name: love to bowl
I love bowling at Limerick. The lanes are pretty good. The staff is very friendly too. I just wish that there would be pictures on the bowling alleys website of the staff with their names. I was brought up to call people Mr. So and so, Mrs. So and so, or Miss So and so. I feel that I am disrespecting the staff by calling them by there first names, or not calling them anything if I don’t know their name. I hope if Mr. Bauser does read this website that he will consider doing this. Thank you so much.

Comment Date: 4/7/2009 Name: Another Bowler
I would like to add to this. Senior Bowler, Limerick Bowl is one of the best places to bowl as fun or competition. They treat all the people good there. This place does 100 things more than any other bowling alley I know of in the area. The shot there is one of the best ones around. They take care of the lanes better than any other house in the area. So what if someone shoots 6 300 games a year there. And the good bowlers are the ones that can adjust to the lanes how they are. So obviously you just might not be as good as you think or your knowledge of bowling lacks just a little bit.

Comment Date: 3/26/2009 Name: senior bowler
Dear concerned citizen, I don’t know what vacuum you live in but, you need to quit drinking the kool aid and take a real look at the treatment the customers receive (including lane conditions). In addition remember I am also a concerned citizen and my posts here are for the purpose of improving the way CHB Sports treats their customers not just to complain about it.

Comment Date: 3/21/2009 Name: senior bowler
Dear league bowler I sure hope you’re wrong. If you refer to my posting in October 2007 I talked about their pushing the seniors out the door with the after school program in the late afternoon. If you’ll check you’ll see that they still bring the kids in to create the same logjam as 2 years ago. Of course you may be right and they do monitor this site. If this is so then they think so little of the senior’s business that they deserve to lose a portion of it.

Comment Date: 3/20/2009 Name: A concerned citizen
Lanes are stripped and reoiled every morning for every league at Limerick Bowl. Unless you bowl in a Senior League that follows another league you have the same shot the Bykota and any other first shift bowler gets.

Comment Date: 2/15/2009 Name: League Bowler
I think Chris watches this site and I also feel he takes league bowling serious. I assure you that every lane is stripped and oiled before all leagues, except second shift. Please find the time to ask him or Ron about your concerns. These guys do care!

Comment Date: 2/8/2009 Name: senior bowler
What good are senior leagues if they only get the dregs of the shots the regular leagues get. The senior leagues haven’t had any back end for most of this season. Chris says he’s working on it but mostly he makes sure leagues like the Bykota league can have their 230 plus average bowlers. Pity that Limerick ignores this site.

Come Sept 10, 2008 You can all smoke outside where where it won’t bother the people who don’t want to ruin there lungs.

Well put Double trouble!!!!!

Comment Date: 6/28/2008 Name: Double Trouble
I love this place, the people are nice, and the bowling leagues are a lot of fun. I don’t smoke, but I don’t feel I have the right to tell someone how to run their business. Especially since it seems to be going well. I have to agree with the comments about letting owners make their own rules about smoking and non smoking. I think people have lost the real thought process aroung these laws, have you forgotten who is making the laws, the goverment. I feel it is time for the goverment to govern the people not rule them. Stop making decissions for buisness owners that can make them go broke. And for all you people who whine about the smoke, istn’t there more important things you can spend your time on. Like help feed some of the Children in this country, I bet the same people whining about smoke are the same people who would rather feed people in other countrys then in our own. Time to pull this county together, and if that means putting petty things aside and looking at the real important issues in this country.

Comment Date: 5/14/2008 Name: senior bowler
Dear youdont…. Its time for non smokers to quit whining about second hand smoke. Do any of you whiners ever notice that if a business opens and bans smoking while competing businesses do not they rarely, if ever, are successful. You people can only win when things get banned. Try competing in the marketplace.

Comment Date: 5/8/2008 Name: youdonthavetherighttokillusall
To smokershaverightstoo:
Who should have the right to endanger the health of everyone around them? Second-hand smoke is just as dangerous as actually smoking a cigarette. We choose not to smoke, and would like to not be forced to smoke your cigarettes second-hand.

Comment Date: 5/3/2008 Name: smokershaverightstoo
To all of the nonsmokers that constantley whine about being unfairly treated because they are forced to deal with smoke, Maybe you should take your money and support facilities that CHOOSE to be smoke free instead of all these laws being passed to FORCE facilities to be smoke free. I’m sure that there would be plently of places for smokers or nonsmokers to choose to go if only owners had a choice. After all, the gov. is still choosing to collect all their taxes by still selling cigarettes. Nonsmokers are as bad as illegals anymore, shut up already!!

Unfortunately people like LUVUBOWL, who have no consideration for others and lack the civility to even want to get along, are popping up more frequently. They fail to realize that with less distractions we all have a better time.

Comment Date: 4/9/2008 Name: LUVUBOWL
Bowling etiquette is not mandatory but a desire that is not always followed. Me, as a casual bowler wants to come in and have fun but not be lectured to about rules that are not able to be enforced. Is this a law?

Comment Date: 4/5/2008 Name: senior bowler
Dear “I Agree”. Good luck commenting on this site. The management at Limerick either don’t read this site or just choose to ignore it, as they did when I commented on here in October. They just want to pack people in with no concern for the other bowlers. If someone gets hurt on the approaches and sues them they will start to be concerned since this would affect their bottom line.

Comment Date: 3/15/2008 Name: I agree!
I agree with the person who commented that bowling etiquette should be explained by the employees to recreational bowlers. All too many times there have been children (and even adults) running and walking up on the approaches when it is not even their turn to bowl. This is both rude and a safety concern. It shouldn’t be the responsibility of the long-standing customers to explain bowling etiquette to people. That is the bowling proprietor’s job. Sometimes it has been so bad that I, as a customer, have tried to nicely explain the etiquette to people but end up getting scowled at or just ignored.

Comment Date: 3/5/2008 Name: LUVUBOWL
I always have the greatest fun there. The place always has something for everyone. There summer leagues are great as they have OBF (Open Bowl Free) Can bowl as many games as you like all summer for free when your in a league.

Comment Date: 10/31/2007 Name: senior bowler
With 28 lanes open on Tuesday afternoons when the senior league is bowling from lanes 29 to 48 what possesses these people to show up with all of the after school kids and troop them down behind our lanes and onto any where they’ve finished. We know some senior teams aren’t as fast as others but using the school kids to force them out and annoy as they try to change shoes is going to start thinning out the senior leagues rather quickly.

yo tell ron to get the old grump at the counter outta there and the guy that goes around counting how many balls you have per people to get a life. When I call and reserve a lane for 9:30 and give mike as the name dont put me down for 10 as matt!! the employees are freakin idiots and grumpy as hell. besides that, the lanes are decent compared to anything else in the area. pizza is good and SLA’s show up once in a while which is never bad.

Jeez,I love this place ! Free games, balls, etc. Make friends with the staff and don’t be such a complainer ! Nobody or no place is perfect. If your inexperienced neighbor doesn’t know lane courtesy, just nicely explain it to ’em !The staff does their best.

Finally long enough days without the horrid smoking!!! But, the smokers stand right in front of the entranc;, therefore, you have to walk through a cloud of poisoning smoke. What happened to consideration to those with health reasons not to be around the smoke. Anyway, inside of facility still reeks of smoke even during non-smoking times. Half of staff is grumpy, other half very nice. I wish some careful consideration would be given to non-smokers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lanes usually well maintained, biggest complaint is the new seating. Tables with food and drink should NOT be in approach area. Tables should be convenient to bowlers and spectator seating moved back. It’s often difficult to get to the lanes to bowl.

There is not enough seating. It makes you feel crowded. The way the seating is, you have to share the computer during set up. Whoever came up with the new layout should find another job. The older lady that takes your money is very crabby. I have not seen her smile in the last 20 years.

Went bowling on 08/03/06 with my 3 children ages 9, 5 and 3 1/2yrs. We had a great time. The younger staff were friendly! We found an adequate number of lighter weight bowling balls. The food was excellent and the arcade was entertaining. I have been here many times, including planned school events. Howard is always accomodating and helpful! Iam thinking about planning a birthday party soon.

Despite recent face lift to building exterior, interior remains mediocre. Relatively new carpet is dirty…not frequently vacuumed…food and debris on the carpet is common. Vending machines are in a state of disrepair and are not reliable. Lane breakdowns are not uncommon. Onsite pizza restaurant/grill is actually very good. Senior staff much friendlier than younger staff members. Staff does not inform open bowlers of standard bowling etiquette at check-in. This means regular bowlers who may be practicing are forced to “deal” with people who run up on the lane when it is not their turn, or people who drift into other lanes when delivering their shots, etc. Staff also does not remind bowlers to wait until their assigned lane is clear of previous bowlers before entering the setee area. This causes setee area “gridlock” as bowlers trying to pack up and leave are invaded by the bowlers taking the lanes after them. House hosts numerous leagues and tournaments and enjoys a large customer base of regular bowlers despite some of the center’s shortcomings.

My company went to Limerick Bowl for a company outting. We had a great time. The owner who helped plan the event was really nice and helpful. Not only did he call to make sure he had everything prepared to our satisfaction, he also called and asked if everything was to our satisfaction after the event. Everything that was provided for us was outstanding. It was a great turn out and I rank this place number #1 compared to the other 4 I have been to.

went to limmerick lanes just to play arcade games with my son…played skeeball with my son…he is young but loved it…he only won 6 tickets after 3 dollars of games. the tickets can be redeemed for prizes. after showing him the case full of prizes. The .1 cent spider ring took his fancy…he wanted it, but it was worth 8 tickets…without a single drop of empathy, class, and customer service, she said no…and without arguing with me, just gave us a rubber ball instead worth 4 tickets, took my tickets and left us. i hope the owner reads this and i want to thank him.
