Norwin Bowl is under new ownership now and they are extremely nice. I love it here. My boyfriend and I go there almost every Friday for their all night bowling for only $10. You can’t beat that!

New ownership is great! They are trying hard to make it nicer every time I’m there. Can’t wait till their summer bowling league starts!

I agree with sir BELL. The area is great and the alley can really relieve stress put on me from a busy day at work.

You know, i enjoy going to Norwin Bowl. It’s a nice local atmosphere where my friends and i can have a good time. The owner is a decent guy even though he goes on smoke breaks every 15 seconds, but he still has my business.

Your lanes are terrible and you should be put out of business.

1. Any GOOD bowler adjusts to lane conditions, and the conditions are usually dry for open bowling almost everywhere. Norwin Bowl has a lane oiling machine, and lanes are always oiled for league play.
2. Real wood lanes will always be superior to plastic. Yeah, I just love the sound of bowling on recycled milk jugs.
3.Until recently outlawed by PA state, every bowling alley within 10 miles of Norwin Bowl allowed smoking and smelled of cigarette smoke – smoking is no longer allowed at Norwin Bowl. I believe most of the people who have left reviews are not familiar with typical bowling centers.
4. Yes, the owner can be a bit of a crabby old man, but he’s been there forever and he’s the most honest business owner I know.
Hey Roth – this is not a forum for you to take out an ad for North Versailles Bowl – there are many bowling lanes in the area, why mention that one? My money says Roth is probably a NVB employee. If you want to review NVB, go to the appropriate place. Just because you can’t bowl unless it’s at one particular house, with one particular lane condition that is set for your ball to walk into the pocket doesn’t mean that that house is superior – IT MEANS THAT HOUSE IS NO CHALLENGE FOR A REAL BOWLER. When Earl Anthony once bowled at Norwin Bowl, he didn’t have any problem throwing strikes, in fact he did so on all 12 lanes.

$2 games on fridays… cant beat that

Dry lanes. Bad staff, smells of cigarettes and crap wine. Threw the two worst games of my life on these lanes. Drive 10 minutes down the road to North Versailles and pick from two GOOD lanes.

small, smokey, and but renovations are in order. Has good Electronic scoring, pool table, lockers, and shoe rental. Staff is not very nice but he is a good guy. Not a very nice place i give it a two out of ten.

The good:
Small bowling alley in decent condition
The Bad:
Still using wooden lanes
Horrible staff, owner is worse
$3/game isn’t exactly a good deal
If you’ve got no where else to go, go to Norwin Bowl, although at $3/game on wooden lanes, I wouldn’t bother. Dealing with the staff is a battle in itself =/

Norwin Bowl finally has electronic scoring; don’t know if they have fans to filter out the cigarette smoke. This is a quaint little local bowling alley, not a whole lot of lanes, not always a whole lot of bowlers.
