I’ve been league bowling at Suburban for a few years. The bad: The big sign in the front needs fixed. Part of it is missing. That’s important since it faces SR-32. The landscaping has gone to hell. On the inside, the men’s restroom has been getting repaired for the last three years. Only God knows when that will be finished. The good: It’s a fun place to bowl, mostly because of the other league bowlers. The lanes haven’t been breaking at all. The bar is cool, but attendance is down. It’s probably because they used to have hotter and friendlier bartenders. I hope they get some new barmaids to bring some business back. The girl who works the snackbar is nice, and I like the sandwiches they have. I want to keep bowling there, but it is depressing to watch the leagues keep getting smaller. I hope there is maximum effort to get more teams to join existing leagues.

I dont get the negative comment about turning it into a cornfield, unless maybe you hold some financial interest in the business. Most people that bowl at Suburban enjoy bowling there. This place will do better some day and I for one hope they stay open.

Why would a bowling alley get rid of a Pro Shop and put in a kids game room? Which one would you think would be appropriate for a bowling alley? Pro Shop or game room??????

Comment Date: 8/9/2011 Name: bowler
The BEST thing to happen is tear the place down and turn it into a cornfield. You will make more money!!!!!!

I bowl on a league, Everyone is nice and fun, Its is a little funny how the owners team is in 1st place every year but then again they are good bowlers… maybe a little too good. The lane’s are too oily, But a good bowler should be able to adjust right? Never the less we have a blast, As far as the food,……most is good but the pizza is AMAZING! The Staff is ALWAYS nice and Helpful.

With regards to the post of 1/10/11…I was just in the alley the other day and quite suprised at how clean the alley was. I will agree that the mens room needs work but with that takes money. You obviously understand the economy and it isn’t easy running a business in these hard economic times as I own one. Everyone can be enthusiatic in the beginning but in the end, it’s keeping that enthusiam going and the customers coming back and the business to continue to thrive in order to have the funds to make the needed improvements.

Comment Date: 1/10/2011 Name: Anonymous
In the near future I hope to post in a more positive way. In the past I have always given Suburban a constructive post, and tried to dispel some of the personal negativity, but this time I have to be realistic. In my experience customer service remains good, but cleanliness seems to be on the back burner. I know money is tight for everyone including this business, but the mens room is a complete disaster. They have been working on a remodel for over 6 months with no progress, in fact its worse now than ever. I really like having a Bowling alley in our rural location, and as a person who doesnt own a business I can only imagine how hard it is to make improvements during these hard times. But after seeing how energized this ownership was when they first came in and all the improvements they made its hard to watch it slide. Im not trying to be too critical, I just hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Kel that makes me more likely to go now, thanks.

I havent been to suburban in years but a few weekends ago my boyfriend and all our friends came up. It was the norm, the place hasnt changed a bit. But the one thing that put a bitter taste in my mouth was…I’m assuming the owners girlfriend/wife the dark red headed gal, she put money down her shirt. I dunno if she was trying to flaunt she’s “big” money or try to get some attention to her *tty b*tty t*tties or something. Classy women don’t act like that…sorry. But other than that we had a good time. We will see if we come back

Related to the comment on 2/21 regarding the lanes: I’ve bowled there for 2 years. My average has been continually increasing, and last year’s scores showed too little deviation to support the claim that the lane pair has ANYTHING to do with it. Furthermore, after 3 weeks of bowling this season, I have not noticed any difference among the 3 lane pairs I’ve been on.
Yeah, sometimes the pinsetters break down. It happens EVERYWHERE, and it is not any more (or less) common there as it is anywhere else.

Sorry to see that Lee got let go. He is an excellent employee and even a better person. He will be missed by a lot of people. Lets hope business picks up and Lee is called back asap. Suburban really needs his positive attitude and hard work ethic.

I have just recently been told about this web site and the fact that my name has come up. I am not working at Suburban any longer because my daughter has been very sick and in need of 24 hour care. Bill has been very nice in understanding that. I know who made the nasty comments and HE obviously doesn’t know me at all. I really don’t care. I will tell you that Bill and Jen, Kirk everyone who works there have always been very nice to work with and for and I think the world of all of them. They do the best they can in this crappy economy. Everyone is being hit with hard times. It takes a lot of patience to work with the public. You can’t please everybody. There’s always room for improvement anywhere you go. I will say that Bill puts in lots of hours to do his best to make it a place for everyone to feel welcome. I would recommend this place for families to come and enjoy and spend time together. The bowling is fun and the pizza is delicious (whoever makes the pizza cause we all make it the same way).I will remind you however that this site was not made for drama but your comments on the business. Keep me out of it…nobody cares.

Thumbs up to person who wrote the post on 2/21 about this centers bowling condition. It was refreshing to read a post that didnt include drama. That being said, I dont agree that the shot, pins, and lanes are the biggest problem here. Dont get me wrong, we can all see there is room for improvement, but I’m happy they are still open and we have a local center in our area.

Comment Date: 2/21/2010 Name: Anonymous
Id love to hear from people who are more concerned with the bowling aspects of Suburban Bowl.
How many are fed up with the inconsistent lane conditions, the bad / broken pins. The fact that attaining a good series is determined by what pair of lines youre on.
Has Suburban Bowl transitioned to a bar with a couple of bowling lanes?

Comment Date: 2/1/2010 Name: kids
To whoever wrote that about Bill yelling at kids should be there more often then. People bring their children in there and let them run like wild animals and do not tend to them. Many times I have been walking through to the restroom while bowling and the kids are climbing on the games or throwing balls or running and screaming. I don’t know how many I have bumped into or should I say bumped into me not looking and running. So if you will not take care of your own kids then don’t get upset at the people who work there that have to! Granted there are some really good kids who do know how to mind and parents who do take care of them. So before you point fingers get the whole scoop on the fact!

Comment Date: 1/29/2010 Name: Tony & Lorene – Insulted Bowlers
In response to A CUSTOMER who claimed I don’t have b*lls. 1. Our names are above. 2. We don’t know anyone their so how could no one not like us? 3. As to Laura being my girlfriend my wife has a problem with that! 4. We were referring to the cook with dark hair and about 5’5″?, we don’t know her name (Patty or Jackie?), that we didn’t like her cooking (is that wrong?), it must be since your so quick to insult Laura since we were giving her high remarks about her cooking and her attitude. I guess everyone has a right to a opinion about the cooking(you no what they say about opinions!). We only know her name because my wife has talked to her. We know the mechanics name(Joey)because he has worked on our lane when it broke down. 5. Me and my wife have spent time in the bar together several times after bowling and also before bowling waiting to get a lane is how we know what happens in there, lots of smoking and lots of cursing (isn’t smoking against code?). Maybe we should make a phone call and report it? We sat next to a guy about a week ago and left our money on the bar and he stated to us not to leave it there because it might get stolen since we were going to shoot pool besides the fact we witnessed a guy on a Sat. night several weeks ago take the two bartenders tips off the bar, I should have known better. 6. Sounds like you are pointing the finger at someone else which they might have a problem with your insulting comments. We hope that person will read this and see what kind of people hang around there and maybe they too will find a more friendly place to spend their hard earned dollars. Maybe the owner will get rid of the thief in the bar so people can have a good time instead of having to watch their wallets all the time! Sorry to the good people that work hard there trying to make a living!! We have given our honest opinion about this bowling alley and we WON’T return!!!!! P.S. Don’t you have the b*lls to give your name other than A CUSTOMER?

Dear Tony and Lauren,I was told to see what was put on here about me. I am so sorry that I didn’t fix your food right. If you would have brought it back to me and told me the problem I would have fixed it right for you or returned your money. I like to make people happy and I try to do my best. Again I am so sorry. I sincerely hope we see you again. Bill and Kirk and Jenny and Christy are really trying to make this a fun place for everyone to come to. So please give us another chance to win you back. And Laura is a great person no matter what people may say. Once again I am so sorry. Thank you, Jacki

Comment Date: 1/28/2010 Name: anonymous
of course i don’t know who wrote that nasty comment about Laura because they didn’t have the guts to show their name…fyi..Laura is not my girlfriend i think her boyfriend would have a problem with that…

Cudos to Kirk, Christy, Bill and Jenny you are doing a great job in bringing life back to the bowling alley. My kids love the gameroom and the moonlight bowling. And your pizzas are great. You will have our repeat busines

Comment Date: 1/28/2010 Name: Jen
I justr want to say that my husband and I always order our dinner there on Monday nights. I hav eaten up there on other nights and the only cook I would allow to cook for my husband and I is Jackie she is the best and sweetest person ever that I have met that takes an intrest in her customers and keeps the snack bar looking good. Jackie works her butt off. Also when we have spare time we take my niece bowling and have always been treated like a family and not just another customer or number. The customers at Suburban bowl really like Jackie and the rest of the staff. They do need to update the bowling machinery but Joey does a good job trying to keep up with what they have given him to work with. Love you Jackie, Joey,Lee and some of the other staff

Comment Date: 1/27/2010 Name: a customer
Hey if you are going to write nasty stuff be a man and grow some b*lls and say who you are. You are only writing that stuff because no one there likes you. And as far as your girlfriend Laura, my husband bowls up there 2 days a week and we would much rather have Patty and Jackie cook for us. We would never eat when Laura cooked. Her pizzas s*cked and she was so slow the boss would even have to help her and she never smiled at anyone. Well we hope to never see you there again and if it’s as bad as you say it is you won’t be back, YEAH!!!! And the other 2 cooks rock! Keep up the good work to all the good people who work at Surburban Bowling Alley.

Comment Date: 1/25/2010 Name: Anonymous
First off I would like to say that most of the employees try really hard to please the customers the best they can for what they are paid. On Tues.& Wed. nights the cook (Laura) is a outstanding cook with the best attitude of all the employees. She goes out of her way to make sure that we are happy. The cook who fills in for her and works later in the week can’t cook anything right to save her life. All of the barmaids are great and work hard to earn tips & keep everyone happy the best they can. The people at the front desk do a good job at trying to help also(they can be over run at times). The lanes are in good shape with the occasional break down which happens everywhere. I believe that Joey does the best he can with the equipment if that is saying much. There is some problem people and language that happens there when they want to show their ***. There is a person who hangs in the bar who says very unapporiate things to the barmaids and thinks he can sing when he gets drunk(give me a break)yelling curse words while singing drunk off your butt doesn’t impress anyone. I have witnessed him stealing the barmaids tips off the bar top when he thinks nobody will see him, word is he will steal from customers at the bar if they turn their head long enough. The owner should take a stand and ban these people from his place of business before he looses more customers. It is for this reason I don’t patronize the bar anymore. Everyone has bad days including the owner but that doesnt give him the right to be nasty with people, he lacks people skills is what I was able to figure out about him. Overall the place is good for bowling as long as you don’t let your children close to the bar window or they may come home with new words to say to their friends.

Comment Date: 1/24/2010 Name: The Aylers
Andy & Stacy, let me apologize for your experience you had at the alley. There are times when the lanes hang up, it happens; however, it doesn’t happen every time. I’m sorry it happened the night you were there. My biggest concern is how you were treated. I would like to talk to you more about it. Make it right if possible. We are part owners but unfornately not in there all the time. Not sure I want to put my phone number on this but if you call the alley and leave a message for us, we will return your call. 513-724-2333–Kirk or Kristin Ayler.

Comment Date: 1/22/2010 Name: Andy and Stacy
Witnessed the OWNER cuss at some children while they were playing his games, yell at another one to move and told us (paying customers) that we weren’t worth his time and holding him up. We found ourselves regretting that we had just spent over $100 dollars trying to enjoy ourselves in his facility. The lanes were crap, the pins would not set properly and the ball return kept hanging up. We got over that much. But to be treated so disrespectfully is what bothered us. My wife informed him that he was very rude and he gave no apology. We said we would not return and he replied with “oh well”. So needless to say I hope the place fails. Maybe then an owner with some class will step it and bring it back to what it used to be…a quality bowling alley that appreciates its paying customers.

Comment Date: 1/19/2010 Name: The Aylers
It is not in forclosure. Please stop by and give it a chance. If you have a problem, please talk to us. We will do our best to handle your problem. No one expected the economy to tank. We like everyone are trying to make it through. We have had some tough times but all in all we are here for you to make the enviroment somewhere you would like to go with your family and an atmosphere you want to hang out at during the weekeneds. Any helpful suggestions would be welcome.

As always there will be negative and positive feelings about personal issues and dislikes for certain people. However, unlike some of the past comments made I hope we can use this forum constructively and about bowling at this house. I have had many positive experiences bowling at Suburban Bowl and a few negative. The vast majority of the time I have been treated respectfully by staff members. When I wasnt it seems as if another customer was being rude to the staff, resulting in the squeaky wheel syndrome, causing the staff to have to cater to them. All in all this is a good house that may be finding it hard like everyone else in these times.

Forecloser! That may be a good thing. Maybe now Bill will finally take it seriously and run a Buisness and not a Playground (Young and old)

Comment Date: 9/28/2009 Name: Anonymous
I noticed that there was a foreclosure filed on this establishment and was listed in the September edition of the Paper. I hope the owner sees what a high maintenance younger girl does for you.

Comment Date: 9/24/2009 Name: concerned
I just read in the paper that the place is under FORECLOSER maybe faye will be back

Comment Date: 9/18/2009 Name: Tim
Seems like management is trying some different ideas to improve the place. The new game room is a good idea and might keep the little ones occupied. The monitors appear brighter, theres a nice shot on the lanes, the pin setters in good working order, and the overall cleanliness is better. Hope everyone else had a positive experience also.

Comment Date: 8/24/2009 Name: Anonymous
I bowled there a few days ago. It was reasonable and staff was friendly. The only fault I found with the place is they need to work on their landscaping. There are weeds growing through the side walks.

Comment Date: 8/4/2009 Name: Christina
Thursday nights in the lounge were really fun a couple years ago. I remember because I used to go there to dance rather than bowl. It turned into karaoke and I think it eventually fizzed out. They should have a Ladies Night on Thursdays with drink specials for us. Play some music to dance, again! I would come back.

I agree with the last post! I like bowling there, too. Our league has also lost a few teams as well… maybe the economy, Ford plant closed, etc.
Suburban needs to get way more aggressive about getting more teams for the winter leagues.

Comment Date: 7/28/2009 Name: Anonymous
I’ve been a regular league bowler for 5 years. I hope the place stays open. Management needs to correct their problems. I really like the bowling alley, though. I prefer bowling there to other area lanes. I hope Suburban has a strategy to get some more teams for this fall. Our league has lost 4 teams over the last 2 years. As for the bar, I liked when Rachel or Jenny would bartend. I hope one of them is working on Thursday nights, this year. The bar could use some more promotions to get people in there. The bar used to be really busy [and fun] a few years back.
I think the place isn’t too far from making a comeback [with the right marketing and a little more respect for customers.]

Comment Date: 7/27/2009 Name: Anonymous
I was here the other day and someone was there to try to shut off the utilities. How can they operated like that?

Comment Date: 7/20/2009 Name: Anonymous
I hear that this place will be closing soon. We all know that it is struggling because nobody is ever in there. How can a business survive on the amount of business that they do? I think Bill and Jen needs to remember Karma hurts.

Comment Date: 6/11/2009 Name: Anonymous
This place could be a nice place if there was better management. I see room for lots of improvements. I guess the owners and managers just really dont care or arent the smartest. The first change needs to be that they hire some cleaners the bathrooms are disgusting.

Comment Date: 6/2/2009 Name: Anonymous
I dont think this place is going to make it. Anytime I go in there it is empty. Maybe if the owners were a little more selective of the help they had and made them clean a little better then they could have made it. They use to have some great help and ran them off.

Comment Date: 5/16/2009 Name: Anonymous
there were so many negative comments i stayed away from this place, but i figured i would try it out for myself. to my surprise it was much nicer than i expected. the price was right, the lanes were well kept, the pins reset fine, the food was good, the employees helpful, however, the restrooms were in bad shape. i did have a positive experience except for some cleanliness issues and some wear and tear that needs to be addressed

Comment Date: 3/26/2009 Name: Anonymous
this bowling alley is not run as a mom and pop place in any way possible. they do not focus on anything except the lounge. they have kids running all over the place and no one watching them. number one those kids dont belong here every night of the week. they are here at all hours. there have been many fights here and a lot of drugs

Comment Date: 2/26/2009 Name: Dean
This is a good house with problems like any other small business. It seems like they are trying to walk the line between a Mom and Pop show and a legit bowling ally. I think this is a good place for open and league bowling. But, look how a professionally run place like Western bowl fared, and it plain to see why Suburban is having identity problems. I hope they can work this out so all of their customers feel welcome and enjoy spending money there. I for one hope this house profits and stays open.

Comment Date: 2/19/2009 Name: Anonymous

1-4. I havent bowled there too often this year, but it seems to me that the new owners are getting unjustly criticized considering the improvements they have made on the lanes and in the bar. I hope Joe the head mechanic stays around, he is good at his job and seems to be a good guy.

Some of you guys are amazing. Do you not have anything better to do other than whine and cry about how your being mistreated? Why don’t you use this forum for constructive purposes and ideas on how to improve things. Whether it be for the operation of the establishment or personal issues you seem to have with the ownership. This type of banter does absolutely no good except to stroke your bruised feelings and let everyone know how unhappy you are. So good, you’ve got it off your chest, we get it, now move on. I’ve personally known all of the owners for years and you need to give them a chance to make improvements and amends if you feel you’ve been personally hurt. But those improvements suggestions and ideas need to be presented in a constructive manner. And they do take time, so give them a little. And if you feel you can’t either help with the improvement, or you can’t forgive your personal differences. Then please move on and go bowl somewhere else.

Big Steve, when you do go to the owner about a suggestion and you get the remark along the lines, “we’ll Im the owner, or Im the owner and I like it that way,” where do you go to after that? I’m going to another alley.
The owner is going through a mid-life crisis, I hear his kids are grow and do there own things and now is dating a girl who is half his age with baggage who is floozy as they come at suburban and he is trying to ride that power trip as long as he can.

I dont know what everyones problem is at the alley. its a nice place and everyone treats my league with respect. yea bill has his problem but the only reason your complaining is bc of that. I get one on one lessons with the people that work there bc i ask. maybe if you go up to them and talk to them about your issues insted of being a**es and posting this crap, then something will change.

i agree bowling is supposed to be fun but not in this establishment. drinking and partying is the only thing that is focused on here. both of the owners are {deleted} and dont know anything about running a business anywhere but into the ground. this used to be a happening place but i cant see that anymore unless there is a change in ownership

Comment Date: 2/23/2008 Name: Anonymous
i have to agree bowling is supposed to be fun but when you get treated like we all do in the establishment then that dont make it fun. you say if you dont like it then dont come back well wait and see how many dont come back next year we are all just finishing the year because we already have quit a bit of money invested. the only ones bill caters to are his personal party buddies and his trashy choice of the weeks team. he is even rude to the other owners wife. he is just a big yuppiefied redneck a**

Comment Date: 2/21/2008 Name: spanky
You people piss and moan way too much!! I thought bowling was supposed to be FUN you all need to get your heads out of your a** and just try to enjoy it. If you dont like the place then dont come! DUH!! The Tues. night ladies league Ive seen Bill personally cater to them so no matter what they will NEVER be happy. You people need to get over yourselves! Once again just HAVE FUN..

I was completely disrespected in front of quite a few people in the bowling alley last night by one of the owners. I was having a casual conversation with someone and he walked up to me and started talking to me about certain situations. Things got heated as he’s yelling in my face about personal issues. Loudly blurting them out in front of many customers left in the bowling alley. He showed blatant disregard for what he had to say to me about our personal issues and letting everyone in the bowling alley know our problems. He had to be held back a couple of times by a close friend b/c it seemed that he was going to get out of line. I will gladly dish every piece of dirt out that I have about this place and the owners. And believe me, I know enough about both of them to really put their life and business in a whirlwind. I didn’t deserve to be disrespected like I was last night. I’m fed up with it and now everyone will soon know everything about the owners and what they’ve done. I’m finished with them. I get disrespected like that and soon payback will be dished right back to both of them. I hope everyone reads on here how the owners have treated a lot of their customers and very close friends and realize that this isn’t the place to spend your money. If you live in the area, go to Cherry Grove. It is a nice clean house and they will treat you with respect there. You won’t have to worry about the owners being in there getting drunk and making a fool out of themselves and others. And you won’t have to worry about your kids seeing half naked girls dancing on the owners laps or on anyone else for that matter. Thanks

i do agree the whole atmosphere has changed. the ladies league on tuesday nights is treated like crap. we are talked down to and disrespected to the fullest. with the exception of a couple of teams. we have even lost a couple of teams with a few more talking about leaving. these people just really need to know how to treat their customers with respect. our money that is paid into the league does help support them.

Comment Date: 2/18/2008 Name: ryan
i have to agree the atmosphere has really changed. i am really glad to see lee back. most of the employees are very rude and arrogant. keith was a very nice polite person and they ran him off so we are glad we have lee he is comparable to keith in terms of attitude. now they just need to get a cleaning crew in there

Comment Date: 2/14/2008 Name: jim
this place has changed so much since the beginning of the year. there is a lot of tension in the air it seems. i hope this new ownership wakes up and starts addressing the issues that need to be addressed instead of only the things that they want. like for instance the cleanliness of the establishment. the guys room is so disgusting even a deep cleaning will not do it any good. get rid of your arrogance and start listening to your customers and employees for once.

Family oriented? Hmm…i guess in a way it is, everyone there don’t have there own family for many of reasons, either running them off, being a dead beat parent, drugs, alcohol, or what not, so all the lonely stragglers get together there and make one big screwed up family as they sit in the bar. Thats how Suburban can say in a way they are family oriented. PLEASE! My team won’t be coming back, you’ll see us down at Cherry Grove.

Comment Date: 2/4/2008 Name: Anonymous
i have to agree with goofy joe. girls are the daily special in this place. i don’t even thing the hells angels would frequent this place though. it is dirty and not well maintained either.

this place needs a new clientele. the crowd that hangs there now i trash. the smoking and the drugs in the bathroom are still going on. they dont seem to want to do anything about it. i know the new owner has been told about it but when him and the employees are smoking right along with them then it is hard to tell them they cant.

Comment Date: 1/29/2008 Name: goofy joe
after readin all the comments about this place, I thougt I was watchin a soap opera. Does bowling go on here? I like the management attitude, he imitates JR Ewing pretty wel. Oil on the lane, oil in the ground, same thing I guess..SOunds like women are on the menu too and they are breaking down the doors to get in. I bet the Hells Angels have this on there map of places to visit so I think i’ll pass. Glad I did some research.

Comment Date: 1/29/2008 Name: Anonymous
i agree any kind of advertisement includes something about sexy or short skirts. that is all good for a bar but then they lay them out in the bowling alley for all to see. who wants their kids to see those. the new girl that works on sundays really needs to keep her cleavage covered and quit with the ditzy act.

Comment Date: 1/28/2008 Name: Anonymous
this place is a dump. the bar door that connects to the bowling alley is tore off. so if you take your kids in there they have to hear and see everything that goes on in the bar. the staff is all rude and talk down to you.

Comment Date: 1/27/2008 Name: Anonymous
Bowling in the leagues at Suburban has always been very fun for me, but when they have an occasion coming up it always seems to have some type of half naked women on the paper advertising it.I really do enjoy going there, but i feel that it does need some work. im not big fan of the owner, but its still a very fun place! I know that my opinion doesn’t really matter, but i think suburban bowl is a wonderful place thats in working progress!

As one of the owners of Suburban Bowl whom most of you rarely see….let’s use this as a forum to welcome change. We welcome any suggestions anyone has to better the establishment. Like any new business owner, making changes takes time and money. We have made several changes to the place that we think needed done first. There is plenty more to do. It all takes time, money and patience. I agree with Shellie the mudslinging needs to stop. If you have a valid complaint about one of our staff members then please bring it to our attention! We’d like to make this alley a FAMILY friendly enviroment. While our bar does a good business….like any bar…you will get a wrong crowd at times. We try to help that by bringing in bouncers and police. Please bear with us and our employees as we try and turn this place around. Again, we welcome your comments and any ideas to make the place a better place to be but the bashing of people is unacceptable. It doesn’t do anyone any good! If you’ve got a true problem with how you have been treated by one of our employees…pick up the phone and call us!

you need to make yourself seen more to help bill on the right track

Comment Date: 1/20/2008 Name: Anonymous
I bowl there in several leagues a week and score well and there is very few breakdowns when was the last time your lane was down more than a cpl minutes there have been several honor scores this year there and who cares who bill is seeing and the only employee who has a crappy attitude is the barmaid who works fri nite sat nite she is always setting in the corner with her boyfriend and wont watch the window the place is much improved and i think some of these comments are personal and u cant please everyone no matter what u do

Comment Date: 1/19/2008 Name: Shelli
Ok everyone this is all getting old. yes Bill has personally hurt Keith and I but that is all personal issues and dont have anything to do with the business. There are other owners involved Kirk and Kristen and they are wonderful people, then there is Mike and Keith who are the managers and all this trash talk hurts them also. Please lets just stop the mud slinging.

Comment Date: 1/18/2008 Name: Rebecca L.
The new tv’s in the bar and the new DJ is awesome, they always find away to get people up to dance. The bar is full of trashy women though, every weekened you see these girls giving lap dances or flashy their goods, do these women have any morals? Also, i dont like the fact of being talked down by someone who dont work there; the owners girlfriend who is pregnant always comes in with a chip on her shoulder and tries to run the bar, isnt there something wrong with a pregnant girl in a bar? but as soon as she leaves his other interest act like they own the place too, too many girls and too much drama for me to keep coming back

In response to PH’s comments. Here you go.
The men’s restroom is still a crap hole. You can see right into the stalls. We only go b/c we are stuck in a league there weekly. Once the year is over then we are gone. Trust me. The shot is average at best. They set it out for an average bowler to bowl well on so you must be one of those average bowlers bowling well. LOL The guy drilling balls in the pro shop doesn’t know his you know what from a hole in the ground as far as drilling. He only talks a big game and everyone there believes what he says. Go to a National tournament one time with a ball drilled by him and see what they have to do to it to make it legal to throw in the tournament. It won’t be the same ball to say the least. Go to a real pro shop (for once) in town and mention his name and ask what they think. LOL You will hear some stories. Unless he knows you, you’re lucky to get your ball back completed withing a few weeks. It takes him forever. The machines still break down constantly. I’ve seen at least 1 or 2 every week that I’m there breaking down multiple times a night. Yeah they spruced the looks of the place up. But if you knew what Bill was doing behind the scenes to some people there, you’d know why some people are so bitter about him and that place. All in all, Bill has you bullied to think he’s a good guy. Some other people thought so too. Until he showed his true colors.

What is it exactly the new owner’s haven’t corrected that you have asked for numerous times?

Comment Date: 1/18/2008 Name: PH
My name is not Hayden, I am a female.I don’t agee with these awful comments. The bathrooms were bad, and I complained. Have you seen the ladies room lately? Much improved & doesn’t smell! If you dislike this place so much, why do you bother going? Faye won’t come back, she is the one that sold it! No one made her do that! The lanes are in better shape than they have been in 5 – 6 years. The machinery works 100% better than it did. There are no more extended break downs during league bowling. In the short time that it has been in new hands, the improvement has been awesome.

Comment Date: 1/18/2008 Name: Anonymous
The new owner has had chance after chance and has chose to do nothing about any of the problems. That’s why people are still smoking in the bar and doing drugs in the bathroom. And fights break out every weekend. How many chances does he deserve and he needs to stop trying to show off his newest choice of the week. She is just like the bowling alley. disgusting.

Comment Date: 1/17/2008 Name: annonymous
in response to P.H. i my whole team and i know for a fact a few other people have went to management about a few things and nothing ever got done. the ladies bathroom is a disgrace. and the flag out front is an embarrassement to our nation. the entry ways are full of cigarette butts and that is nasty. i have even seen the employees throwing them down there. the new owner has the personality of a fly.

Comment Date: 1/17/2008 Name: Purple hooter & Spouse
I find it quite amazing how people cannot see how much things have improved at this bowling center. The center is now run by individuals that actually have a bowling background and know a little something about the lanes. The pro shop is now run by someone that knows how to drill a ball to fit the bowler’s hand, not just put holes in it. Shame on those that have implied that Bill ran Keith off…our thoughts and prayers are with Keith and his family. As for smoking in the bar, I personally have not seen anything of this kind…but good luck on getting the place shut down “oremanately”. Proof read anyone? Every meal I have gotten from the kitchen has been extremely well prepared and very good I might add. The last time I checked the pro shop was open 5 days a week…if not more. Not to mention the numerous bowling tips/free help we have received from Mike. Nothing against Faye, but the only time you saw that woman in the bowling center was at night in the bar? The current management is there regularly. And the bathrooms have always been a disgrace…at least now you have toilet paper in the bathrooms! Keep up the good work! It is appreciated by some of us regulars

Comment Date: 1/17/2008 Name: annonymous
as far as the comment that it is family friendly that is wrong. everything that is done there is focused on the bar. all the parties are for the bar. just like the pig roast it was advertised for a fun day of family events. i bought tickets for my wife myself and our kids and there was nothing there for the kids but they made sure there was beer pong and a dunking booth for the bar maids. how family oriented was that. bill should have bought a bar instead that is his main interest with us bowlers just helping him pay for it. and the people that hang in that bar especially his young girlfriend are all not classy people

Comment Date: 1/17/2008 Name: annonymous
yeah bill is really personable that is why he cussed at us women in the tuesday night league. i dont care how upset you are with someone you dont cuss at them. we do pay your salaries.

Comment Date: 1/17/2008 Name: Anonymous
Quit with the nasty comments just cause you don’t like the new owner GROW UP! If its such a horrible place then why does my family love going their so much? huh.. I think the new owner is doing a good job for only being their for seven months. What happend to giving people a chance?

Comment Date: 1/17/2008 Name: Teresa
Well if you like bowling at a place…..
that has poor lighting in the parking lot, dont mind all the fights that break out during the weekend, serving to minors, the bartenders taking forever to serve you because they are too busy flirting or texting on their phones, using the restroom while everyone watches and the smell of septic tank, the cold or under cooked food in the kitchen, the smoking, the pro shop is never open or is more of a storage center that is nasty, and you are okay how Bill treats his workers and their families…then come down to suburban bowl.
Bring Faye back ASAP!!

Comment Date: 1/16/2008 Name: Bill PETERS
I think the new owners have greatly improved everything. Bill is very personable and helpful. I would recommend this center to anyone. Thank you very much.

Comment Date: 1/16/2008 Name: P.H.
I am really happy with the improvements that have been made at Suburban. I bowl on a weekly league there, and I can’t tell you how much the lanes have improved! You can read the monitors! The new ownership has invested quite a bit of time and money on improvements. All you have to do is mention something to management and they will try to take care of it right away. It is a pleasure to bowl there with my two young children too, I do not agree with a comment that I read that it is not a family oriented place. The only place that is not “family orientated” is the bar! Shame on you if you want to bring your kids in there! I know it would be nice if the Pro Shop could be open 24/7, but the man does need to go home and sleep sometime. The last time I had a ball drilled, Mike came in an hour early just to accomodate me. I would like to also mention that Keith wasn’t “run off”. Please keep him and his family in your prayers as he recovers from surgery.

Comment Date: 1/16/2008 Name: Anonymous
I think this place is very far from family oriented. The owner does not have his priorities in line or he would have fixed everything that people have taken to to him. He does not care about his regulars or his employees not one bit. He should not be able to run a business at all. He is running this place into a giant hole.

Comment Date: 1/15/2008 Name: Anonymous
I believe the new ownership has done a very good job working to improve the center and atomosphere. As a matter of fact, I know they have police on duty during busy times to be sure order is kept in the place and no trouble arises.
League numbers are up and customer surveys were positive from what I have heard. They have not just sat around and done nothing as you can tell by the improvements within the facility.
I just hope people give them a chance and don’t judge by comments posted, rather go find out for yourself.

Comment Date: 1/15/2008 Name: Anonymous
This place is very disgusting and the owner does nothing about it. He let’s people smoke in the bar even though he has had a warning and the bathrooms are very disgusting. The stalls don’t even have locks on them and you are lucky if you can even get the door to stay shut. I will definitely be turning this place in to the health department everyday until the doors get shut oremanately.

I am and will continue to contact the health department because of your blatant disregard to ignore the smoking ban. Also, the two individuals who say they own Suburban do not. It is probably this reason that league numbers are down, and no one of any class frequents the bar.

I would like to say that after this year my team will not longer bowl at your house due to the letting go of Shirley Reynolds. I am disappointed in Faye because she knows that Shirley has been with them through thick and thin she has given up a lot of holidays to be with her son because of her job and loyalness to Faye and Lee. I know cause I am the one who took care of Ryan. Also when I broke both my arms there I didn’t bring a lawsuit against Faye because of my friendship to Shirley but I no longer owe that so I still have time to file. Faye – you knew I had that accident yet you didn’t take the time to see if I was ok. You hired someone who knew nothing about running the lanes and has the personality of a toad. When by all rights the management should have gone to Shirley who was with you way over 15 years. I wonder, those who Shirley brought in to bowl in leagues, how many will remain after they know she has been let go. She was hurt while on the job and this is the thanks she gets. I wonder how Lee would feel about your actions. If he was still alive he wouldn’t have done this to Shirley.
