Lanes 1 & 2 constantly breaking down. I is always hot when you’re bowling. Could re place the carpet. It is getting to expensive to bowl anymore, otherwise it’s a great place to come and have a good time.

Horrible place. Don’t go there. Metal detector to enter. Loud, obnoxious music. Manager on duty s*cks. They don’t remove bumpers after other people are done with them. Shoes are in a lousy state. No central place for bowling balls – if there aren’t any good ones in your area, you have to go to other lanes and ask people for permission to pick balls. Bartender did not even pay attention to my question. Spilled beverages in our area. Ball got stuck after first try. Issues with entering additional bowler names in the computer. An overall feeling of being unsafe.

Didn’t go there to bowl but to watch my friend bowl. With that I can’t tell you how the lanes are there right now but the one walking through a metal detector is crazy. Two at least the bartender Catherine has a fun personally. I wouldn’t mind a date with her. Drink prices were reasonable. On the way out I did see a bullet hole in the window thus reason for the metal detectors.

Been there a few times. It s a chore for workers to be cool. It s ok alley, weekends are better, but attitudes there stink!!Workers are intimidating and always ready for drama. Especially when drinking. Food is good and they run specials. Drama with drunk workers keeps me away.

I went there with my sister and LOVED IT! I just forgot the prices because its been quite a long time. I figured out to rent shoes is 4.50 but to bowl i guess is a totally different price. If any of you guys and tell me the price, i will be ever so grateful. But anyway, My overall view is the place is great from what i remeber

Can you believe that Albany is trying to put a new sales tax on bowling ? ? ? I just signed a form at the bowling alley opposing it

A dump. Run-down. Lousy food. Poor selection of house balls, most in poor condition. A narrow lane behind the seats gives you a cramped feel. Had to go through a metal detector on a Saturday night. But what surprised me the most was how expensive everything was. $4.50 to rent shoes for starters. Overall, not recommended.

I love this place!!!! Andrew at the front desk is awesome and we honestly only go there when/if he’s there. Judy great! We started in her jr leagues, her and walter taught us some great stuff. We love pat too. Bowled in her leagues and she’s so nice and cool. We love gil hodges snack bar too, great food and nice people. Mike and Harvey r the best!!! If u haven’t gone there yet u better get going cuz its a great place.

The place that I went to is okay & I bowled over there. There’s not a problem about bringiing your own bowling ball as well for bringing your own pair of bowling shoes instead of renting your own pair because it maybe costs a little too high. And if case you do forget, there is a radar speed in every monitor so that a bowler can figure out your throwing speed & somebody forget about that one. I can only tell you that my throwing speed is about 23 miles an hour so if you did not know your bowling speed, there is one & in like any bowling alleys, a person throws one of the balls (old or new) can describe how fast can you throw a bowling ball. But I rather use my own bowling ball instead of a worn-out ball that has been used for such a long time & it can hurt your fingers & your thumb. And one piece of information that I would like to say is that bowling game is only $4.50 & that I can afford to pay & It maybe a bad alley in somebody’s mind, but I rather find a place that really had a radar speed so that I figure out my own throwing speed & most important is to adjust your speed. And next time for the people at Gil Hodges Lanes… Please get more people to your place & lower your price to only $1.00 every Monday night okay? Thanks alot for making me come to your town in Mill Basin.

Wassmatter Anonymous, afraid to leave your name? Gil Hodges is not any of the mean, spiteful crap that you’re dishing out. Come up with some meaningful suggestions…these proprietors really care about the place..and the management and staff are top notch…many have been there for more than 20 years. Your kind of badmouthing solves nothing.

Used to be a fun, CLEAN, thriving 68 lane bowling center – familiar faces both friends and employees always – never can get that back no matter who you hire (Nigel?????? HAHAHA) or fire – a bowler could leave there at all hours of the night alone and not be afraid but NOW???? – priced themselves right out of the lucrative influx of cash money (operative word being cash)- proprietor scared away the bowlers and eliminated the staff that made things run like a well oiled machine – AND they were pleasant to look at and speak to – they were educated. Cusick or Ray??? – at least Bob wasn’t obnoxious. Ultimately the neighborhood was invaded and ruined because they had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for employees and bowlers. Face it – they set bowling “centers” back 50 years – kind of Ralph Kramden-ish now. Ladies – leave your underwire bras home you’ll set off the metal detector – substitute a personal key-chain alarm and pocket size clorox bleach wipes.

Gil Hodges used to be a great place. It is now in shambles and from what I have heard it is not a safe place to be.

Dont have your child birthday party there! Terrible party’s. I was better off having my child’s party at Burger King or McDonalds. When I booked the party I was told one thing and the day of the party everything was totally different. I was shown the room by the bar for the party when I booked. They day of the party I was brought to another room that was 4×4 , had water damage and was next to the bathrooms that smelt. I was never shoen this room or what even toild it existed! When I complained I was told another party had more people and therfore they get the other room, ( even though I was told only 1 party at a time and they are booked every hour) I was told by managament that I could have my party in the “hallway” since we would not fit in the 4×4 room. It was terrible I had kids who were hanging out at the bowling alley not with my party trying to eat my food and get some cake. Do not have your party there!!!!
