Recently attended a birthday party there. It was amazing. The children had so much fun. Me and some of the parents even bowled. I forgot how much fun bowling is. I have to say that my son was a party at hi-tor alleys a few weeks ago and they didn’t let them finish there games and not much room for the kids to eat. I booked my sons party at New City Lanes in May.

I guess these comments are outdated. The whole inside was renovated. Their bathrooms are nicer than mine at home. All granite and tile. All nice couches in the bowling area. They have great kids programs. And the man at the front counter and all the staff were very courteous and helpful.

These comments are really old and obviously written by someone with a grudge against the management (perhaps an ex-employee?). Entire center was remodeled about a year ago and looks great. Friendly employees, child friendly, lots of leagues and specials.

Wow!!! That’s all I can say, I haven’t been to New City Bowl in a while. Looks GREAT! The place has been completely renovated. Compared to other alleys, they have way more staff and they have alot of great specials. The other local alleys don’t even compare. The place is spotless. My kids had so much fun! I can’t wait to go back.

this place’s pro shop is pretty outdated. the food makes me want to keel over. the managers don’t seem to care too much about anything. the employees seem to be in another planet.

This place looked horrid on the inside. Other than ice cold A/C, there’s nothing to write home about this center. The manager’s are awful and the stories I hear from friends seem to fit the bill. Technology is incredibly outdated and the “Pro Shop” looks more like a spare closet that had balls thrown into it. and the drilling wasn’t much better. The young staff seemed very helpful and kind but the managers were nowhere to be found

its a cool place, they have some competitive bowlers there, their pro shop is awful by the way. i wouldnt even call it a pro shop, its small, cramped, and he doesnt know how to drill balls for his life. its to smal to be a shoop, it should be called bob cusick’s pro closet. NOBODY GO TO HIS SHOP EVER AGAIN!!

I haven’t been there in awhile and recently revisited the alley. Dirty bathroom. Lanes were braking down. I don’t think there was any oil on the lane I was on. If there’s a problem, you can find the manager, Alice, outside the front door smoking her lungs out BUT most of all contaminating the air that your kids have to walk through to get into the alley. She doesn’t care and when I was there a couple of times she was very nasty and rude to the young working staff. I understand that is the history of this bowling alley. Changed to Hi Tor and very happy!

Overall this place has put a bad taste in my mouth for bowling as a whole. I’ve never seen so many workers doing absolutely nothing for the customer. This place is one step above a dungeon. The lighting was terrible, the place looked dirty, and the management was extremely unhelpful. I had agita from the pizza and was up all night with an upset stomach. I think that my child could run a bowling alley better. Good day.

DUMP! Want to walk into 1983? Then go here! Machines break down constantly, is there a mechanic on duty? This place is run by kids. The manager, who I had the displeasure of running into is unfriendly at best, maybe because she had been drinking! I overheard one employee say she drinks while working, when she decides to even show up. I’ll never bring my family there again. Hi-Tor lanes is much friendlier.

The bowling alley isn’t that bad,but the batting cages are not so good sometimes they have noone outside 4 the coins you have to walk all the way inside to get them

I found New City Bowl to be one of the best kid-friendly bowling alleys around. Alice works hard to get as many young people in to bowl as possible in the after-school leagues. She also works hard to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves.

Not my favorite place to bowl however place is clean and well kept. Staff is uninterested and sometimes short. The shining glory of this alley is the pro-shop. Bob can drill a ball like no other and knows exactly what he is doing. Other than that I would chose another place to bowl.

Went for open bowling on a Sunday morning. Place was full of kids which makes bowling frustrating. Lanes are nice. Lot of oil when I was there. Technology a little old. I’d go back.

i think that this nw city bowling alley is great and the workers are trained very well and act very nicely to the customers.i cant stand people who say otherwise.

I know people who work at new city bowl and they say that the owner is too cheap to buy good oil which i agree with because even though the lanes are wood, they shouldnt break down as fast as they do. And also, new city should get new lanes, synthetic at that because if your goin to have oil that breaks down that easily, you should have lanes that will slow it down. one last thing i might add is the lighting is not good at all!!!!! it is WAY too dark in there.

New City Bowl and batting cages is a {deleted} bowling alley! the place is literally held together by duct tape. the employees and management arent very helpful. All they know how to say is “hey hows it going” and “i know”. as a customer i was not very satisfied

I hate this place with a passion. The management only cares about stealing and going on vacations. The staff is clueless, no training, rarely supervision, manager Alice doesn’t work often, and assistant Jen sits in the bar and plays video games, all they care about is a paycheck. They don’t care about you.

Comment Date: 3/6/2006 Name: Anonymous
They make so much money, but still pay us, the workers less than minimum wage. Don’t trust their smiles, they hate all you customers.

New City Bowl is one of the worst places I’ve been to…employees trained bad…manager is a complete (expletive deleted)- worst experience ever.

New City Bowl is one of the most kid-friendly bowling centers I have been to. The staff is well trained and easy to deal with. Our family enjoys spending time there and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We really appreciate the non-smoking regulation now in effect in New York!
