this bowling alley is okay during saturday/sunday rent a lane bowling which is 8am to 1pm . snack stand doesnot open until I leave? owner keep changing prices or reduce hours of rent a lane. now I think its 8am to 12. then its a ghost town after rent a lane shuts down. pro shop guy is the only person that cares about this place. people that work there either like you or dont like you. thats how it is there. its your choose to go there. but would never bowl there after 6pm. not punch or bullet proof.

Comment Date: 6/22/2011 Name: Anonymous
dont even waste ur time going to this dump. the lanes r always breaking down and during leagues (when school is on break or major holiday) the staff puts little kids next to league bowlers and when we complain the staff doesnt care cause the owner told them to do that. that is unfair to league bowlers. upstate bowling alleys r much more cleaner and the staff is more respectful to their customers. certain staff at ur establishment just think it is a playground and like to fool around. especially now charging an entrance fee on weekends and weeknights is a joke. noone will pay that fee plus the expense of bowling. if they pay that then they r just stupid. when all the other houses in queens closed they should have gone out and recruited the leagues to come there but nope. the lineage was too expensive and they were raising it the following year so they went elsewhere. thats y some nights were a ghost town. never promoted any specials.

If you like to be treated like crap then don’t hesitate! This is the place for you. Very rude workers like they forced to work there against there will. Remember you pay to go and bowl there so why should you take there attitude. I will not be returning here. Rather drive further and go to Hendricks Lane instead!!!

This place needs new building, staff, management, food. It’s really gross, there are roaches and rats.

Comment Date: 12/1/2010 Name: Anonymous
7.50 a game at night. Ridiculous. Upstate prices r half the price. Even shoe rental is cheaper. Most of the staff r just pathetic. Everyone has to do someone elses dirty work.

Comment Date: 10/11/2010 Name: Peter
Go there with my friends & have a great time. The lanes are kept clean & the staff are friendly. They have video games & a nice bar. Children’s birthday parties are very popular. I would recommend it Highly.

Comment Date: 6/14/2010 Name: fed up
please this center needs a overhaul, starting with the ownership.lanes are inconsistent, prices are ridiculous, and the help needs help.listen if i wanted to go to a mafia hangout i would travel to little italy.but this place is a joke,no oil on the lanes, and if you ask for a pair thats oiled get ready for a arguement. i tell you these places should either close down or sell the establishment,i mean after all we go to bowl not too gamble. GOOD LUCK TO WHOEVER DECIDES TO BOWL HERE.

Comment Date: 1/28/2010 Name: Anonymous
someone got shot outside your establishment recently. where was your security that you hired at the time of the shooting? that’s why your establishment should not be open 24/7/365. late nights is when the trouble happens. do a reality check on that plus the cost of a game.

Comment Date: 1/5/2010 Name: former bowler and former worker
snack bar was a joke. person who owned it would never want to work. always would get another worker to work for a few hours late at night while he was bowling action or playing cards.
the lanes- another joke. one week they r oiled good and i would bowl 3 great games and then the following week lanes r oiled totally different and i would bowl 3 bad games. keep them at the same consistency every week.
snack bar would always be out of stock of something and would wait a week to replace the missing item. what a joke?

Comment Date: 1/5/2010 Name: Anonymous
do a reality check on your staff there cause they are not normal. you have one or 2 normal people. time to wake up and realize who you are dealing with. like i said b4 7.50 for a game is a joke. even when a league bowler comes in to be charged 4.50 a game in the daytime is absurb. LOWER YOUR PRICES AND YOU WILL GET YOUR CUSTOMERS BACK!!!! IF NOT, YOU WILL SUFFER. you raised the price of a game so, why didn’t you raise the shoe rental price? 8 people 2 games each 8 shoe rentals is 156.00. factor in food and beer. that is at least a 300.00 bill for the night. you have to be kidding with these prices.

Comment Date: 1/5/2010 Name: Anonymous
7.50 for a game now. r u trying to compete with manhattan for the highest price for a game. family of 4 can’t afford to go bowling these days. many league bowlers dropped out cause they can’t afford it. if you lower the cost of a game and the lineage for league bowlers then, maybe u will have a packed house every night instead of your staff sitting around doing nothing.

Comment Date: 11/27/2009 Name: Crazy
This place is a joke. If they had a more friendly staff, maybe the steep prices wouldn’t be so bad. Why would I want to pay for crappy service. The lanes are good, the people are questionable, but with staff that doesn’t care, that’s expected. Keep away!!

Comment Date: 10/25/2009 Name: company outing to forget
went there on a company outing on a friday night and couldnt believe my eyes. locked doors awaited us when we finally made it to the front door. lots of, shall i say, not your every day people all around us trying to get in. then we witness people being searched at the door. we all looked at each other and wondered in amazement, what the hell. needless to say we made a uturn and left. what actually goes on there if this is going on at the door. this is definitly a place you should think twice about going to. most of us are from long island and we never experienced anything like this at all. we will keep our outings out of this bowling alley.

This is my first time coming to Whitestone Lanes & all I saw was a lot of people inside the bowling alley. I really did remember was a whole lotta kids from the summer camp trip & they almost took the whole space since when I first opened the main door to the bowling alley. Gee, it was too crowded over there. I thought it reminded me of Roseland Ballroom (in New York City) when it was standing room only. So I finally walk up to the front desk & I asked the man for only game each. He said it was $4.50 a game. But when I paid for one game, I started looking at the other rate prices & all I saw was $7.00 after 6:00 pm? For what? I was shaking my head just to know how much it really costs in the evening hours, only $4.50 was okay for me but not $7.00. Just to bowl only one time only & I have to try out lane 3. The lane was fine & I did bowled really well with my sidearm hook throw from my right hand before I hurt my right muscle, ouch. But anyway, I did score was 136 & I just want to practice by getting back into the league once again. Oh, by the way… what about the bumper rails? I thought it was nice just to install them all over the lanes. To be honest, I do not want to cheat in bowling, but it was a very good idea that a bumper rail had been installed just in case a little kid wants to bowl over there without asking for assistance at the front desk. I really did bowled well with a bumper rail & it worked, haha. Well I maybe coming back here again maybe every month, but I do hope that I first experience of visiting Whitestone Lanes in Flushing, NY was worth the visit. To the others who posted bad or good on this public form, you maybe finding out what is really like to be there, but bring your own pair of bowling accessories & save yourselves a whole lot of money. If you like this place for the first time, then you will be welcomed. If you do not like it here, then bowl somewhere else at another location. That is all I can post for now & happy bowling to everyone here.

The fat kid is a is one of the rudest desk person they have working at that center. Why do they even keep him?

Comment Date: 3/30/2009 Name: MRS. DISAPPOINTED
Such to my surprise my family & guests had an awful experience there. The service was extemely disappointing the the staff very rude. Went to celecbrate my childs birthday & was treated in a disrespectful manner. Staff acussed my husband of bowling @ a lane that we did not pay for( he does not even bowl/ bad back) one staff member by the name of Alex called us n****rs & if that was not bad enough cut off our game before it ended. I would never reccomend this place to anyone. What a way for a child to celebrate their birthday

Comment Date: 3/26/2009 Name: Disappointed
$7.00 a game after 6:00? Are you crazy? The lanes aren’t made of gold!

Comment Date: 1/17/2009 Name: Weekend Warrior
Attention Management: I must say that I am extremely put off by your sudden changes to your All-You-Can-Bowl weekend special. $15.00 was reasonable. $18.00 is a doable increase. But, please, for the love of God, reconsider the 3 person minimum per lane amendment! Don’t ruin one of the best bowling specials in town.

Comment Date: 10/9/2008 Name: JOHN AND SANDY
First how can they say this is a family place , half the staff was nasty and rude when I asked for a cup of ice for my sons juice a extremely rude bartender said no she couldnt . Then after telling the counter person that there were people cursing and drinking and getting violent all he did was shrug his shoulders and said he couldnt do anything . This place is not a family place or a decent place it is a hell hole,

i went there with some friends , they are from another state . they were very unimpressed with the whole establishment . from the fight that broke out to the mouse they saw on the lane to the extremely rude staff especially the snack bar .the drinks were warm and expensive .we wont be going back there ever again

you sure this is a bowling alley. the place is a disgusting mess, man is it dirty. i guess its good if you are looking for a prostitute, plenty of them there. my wife walked into many of them in the bathroom. it says its a family place. i wonder what kind of family they are referring to. never again for me

I am glad whitestone lanes has not closed. And hopefully it wont… I have really fond memories of this place and now, we love bringing my kids here.

Comment Date: 5/7/2008 Name: Ralphie
Okay, so we got ride of the dumps in Van Wyck and Woodhaven – and hopefully Whitestone is next. A great bowling center is a great place for a serious bowler or a young family alike – but these dumps are the bottom of the barrel. I’d rather drive to Long Island that put up with the garbage at Whitestone. Thugs, power drinkers, false advertising on specials..what a disaster.

I had a great time there recently… and we went on a saturday night.

this place is nuts. get out of there before darkness. i heard there were more brawls there again, and a bowler pulling out a gun. family fun…..maybe during the day, ok coral at night.

all you can bowl sat, $15, 800am-100pm ,is a good deal. lanes are well oiled and clean.good paratice session

Comment Date: 4/2/2008 Name: never again customer
you must be kidding. first of all this is not a family friendly center. besides the prices being way off base, this isnt midtown you know, the atmosphere is horrible for a family with kids. there are too many undesirables hanging out. from lowlives to prostitutes, real nice. counter help is a joke. the really fat guy is rude, disguesting and has no respect for anyone. dealing with him is an adventure. and the other tall clerk just sits on a chair doing nothing. never getting up to assist the customers there. this place is a filthy mess. the snack bar has nothing in it, and what little they do isnt worth the prices. speaking of prices…$7.00 for a game and $4.50 for shoes, please, what a joke. and the bar, service is slow. the bartender, a blonde female, would rather hang out with her friends then to serve her customers. shes very rude and unfriendly. prices for a drink are very steep and just not worth it. it was an overall horrible experience. with that i and all my friends will never do again. you go to have fun and instead you have to weave through a bunch of lowlives that hang out there and ruin the fun. if the owners dont care about the enviornment, only after the dollar, then so be it. but no thanks

We had a bowling birthday party recently and it was great. All the kids had a wonderful time!

Comment Date: 3/25/2008 Name: Unknown – OOPS, sorry…

besides the prices the experience is wonderful fun and exciting

Comment Date: 8/30/2007 Name: Anonymous
On the CONTRARY to the past “past customer’s” comment on 4/14, the blonde bartender is VERY friendly, VERY pretty, VERY sweet, works fast, and makes great drinks. Makes my trip to the center fun and worthwhile. And we all know who made that derogatory remark…grow up

Comment Date: 8/14/2007 Name: Unknown
Its a good hang out spot but damn..the prices ARE WAYYY TO HIGH! They need to lower the prices if they want repeated customers. Anyways, is it betetr to go at nights?

Comment Date: 7/10/2007 Name: Bowling hobbyist
Way Too Expensive. Offer some discount passes or cards.

Comment Date: 6/15/2007 Name: kristina

a bad job

Comment Date: 4/14/2007 Name: a past customer
prices are way too high, even the drinks at the bar. you get a little plastic cup for crazy prices. and the blonde bartender is very unfriendly, she isnt that good looking at all. shes too old, bring in some younger bartenders and friendly ones. she doesnt know how to make a drink and no buy backs. she must know the owners because she really is not a good bartender.

Comment Date: 3/22/2007 Name: a fellow neighbor
I will agree with da people, the prices are not right. I better get a free drink with those rates, something. rip off

Comment Date: 3/12/2007 Name: unkown
the prices are way too high, wait is too long, the atmosphere isnt that good. too much of a hang out, the wrong type of people are there at night. the only good part about going to the lanes is the pretty blond bartender, shes hot

Comment Date: 4/1/2006 Name: unknown
this place is ok but the prices s*ck and the WAITING is like waiting for an half an hour or an hour. BUt its opkay and kind of fun

Comment Date: 2/17/2006 Name: Tony
Bowled on a league there from Sept05-Jan06.
Lanes are very good but the prices STINK!! Wait too much for an alley in Queens. No specials – well only one at 12-4 in the morning and even that is not deal. If prices drop I’ll be back.

Comment Date: 11/13/2005 Name: bowler
This place isn’t what it use to be. I’d rather go to Jib Lanes. It’s also in Flushing.

Hello, to you all there at Whitestone Lanes….!….I just wanted to say that I always remember your bowling alley as a great place to be, it was all fun…..I lived in Whitestone from 1963 to 2000……with a “break” in between in Hollywood, California for a few years…..I am a musician and Whitestone Lanes is a very artsy place to me…with its yesteryear.
