Don’t bring your own ball. Everytime I have gone there and used my own ball, it has gotten wrecked. Always looks like I bowled down the driveway with it. Alley ball is the only way to bowl there.

Great place to take your kids, have a beer and bowl economically. I live in DC now and to take my kids; 4, 6, 7, 8 12 and 14 bowling, get a snack and a beer costs about $100 bucks. Unlike some of the other comments below, I like PJ bowling. By the way, if you call ahead they will set up kiddie rails.

My family and I are visiting Port Jervis for the first time. We dropped by PJs’ while we all like to bowl. The person I spoke with early in the day stated they didn’t have bumpers for children. It wasn’t a big deal while my 4 year is actually pretty good and my 2 year old just likes to be with us. The lane we started on sloped down pretty bad on either side of center. I know while I was bowling and was playing the slope to see how badly it really was. After a couple frames, I asked if we could switch to another lane. The woman running the alley stated no-while they were all the same. The lane to our left and right didn’t have a nice crease running down the center as ours did. Normally it wouldn’t have been too big a deal-but considering we were the only people in the entire alley, it was awful customer service-she didn’t even bat an eye. We’re enjoying our time here so far. PJ’s was awful. Stay away.

If you like nails popping through on the approach, this is your place. Lanes are not maintained and the ownership doesn’t care. Good place for playing Lotto and drinking beer.

I started bowling at Port Jervis Bowl when I was 11 years old … over 50 years ago. Great to know the center is still open. We had to set pins and had no auto ball returns or scoring … my how things have changed
