My son had a tournament here today and him along with 6 to 8 other bowlers were wondering where the great Kenny Hall was. We could have used him to open his “pro shop”.
There used to be a time when ever there was an event the proprieter would make sure the pro shop was open to assist the bowler in whatever equipment changes they may have had.
its not just kenny I see this in about 90% of the houses he has bowled in on his travel league.also I guess they don’t need to make money in their snack bar either yet they don’t want you to bring food in.
This place is poorly managed and the bowlers suffer. The only time you are treated good is if you have a birthday party. This seems to be latham bowls big priority now.

Bowled two games tonight and the lanes acted as if they had not been oiled in months.

Love the “event” nights–Rock & Bowl, Ladie’s Night, etc. The DJ is really, really nice and always does her best to find your song. Staff is friendly, atmosphere is clean and well-kept. The price is a little on the high side, but its easily forgiven, especially with entertainment provided and prizes given out.

For those faithful Rock n Bowlers the times have changed starting this weekend, until the fall. It’ll be Saturday nights only from 11-1:30.

I don’t know what it was like in the past but it is sure a nice facility now. We now drive past our Clifton Park Bowling Center to go to Latham as it has become our preferred bowling center. Just joined two leagues and looking forward to bowling at Latham

Great place to go. Prices are resonable and the staff and management is very friendly. Have been visiting for years, and the place has never been this clean and friendly. The food has improved also. It’s not a wonder why it is alwys busy.

Some comments from a league bowler for one year:
The free pizza spins can be very distracting when they announce it mid throw. The guy on our team had a look of christmas morning everytime we won.
Food is reasonably priced, at least with the league discount, but does take about 20 mins to cook a hamburger. This could be the result of staff turnover which is the highest I have seen ever anywhere.
The employees that attempt to go above and beyond are often thrown out on their can. One pretty, young waitress comes to mind. She was a food only waitress but we managed to convince her to bring over the beer as well. After some laughs, chit chat, and a few lude comments the evening ended on a high note with myself throwing the best game of the season. Unfortunately she was fired that week and we never saw her again.
And that’s another thing, the place has no moral compass, Anything goes. Mothers leave your daughters at home. There is one skeevy person in particular that comes to mind. He can be seen constantly leering through the bar blinds along with his glinting gold chain. Listen carefully enough and you can here his mating call “YAY!!!” People like this are not uncommon: as my friend puts it, “the kind of people that bowl are the same people you find at a circus.”
On a closing note, the lanes are in decent shape, it is relatively clean. It is better than the bowlers club and Flo the waitress. So come on out give it a try, at least you will have some stories to tell, god knows I have a million.

You should have knowledge and be actively involved in something to care about it. Too many times promises have been left unsatisfied by this individual. Personally I have bowled in the Capital District for 30 years and watched her run 2 centers into the ground. It is not what is best for the game it is what is best for her!!!!

This house S*CKS!!! Last year they took in all the leagues from the Bowler’s Club & those of us that already had existing leagues there were put on the back burner. Our league was split so 1/2 of us were on one side of the building & the other 1/2 were on the other side. What kind of crap is that??? The lanes shut off all the time, & one of the lanes that was “stuck” chewed up my ball so bad it had to be refinished 3 times before they got it back to the way it looked before it got chewed up – which was BRAND NEW!!!! If you decide to get into a league, think carefully before you choose this place – btw – their pizza is NASTY!!!!

Just a quick note of thanks to all who supported our Rock n Bowl program over the past years. Our last night was Saturday May 31, 2008. . All comments should be directed to the Corporate offices Bowl New England and Owner Tim Corley.

Do NOT plan your child’s birthday party here. It was the worst experience I have ever had! They scheduled my party for the wrong day. The staff were incredibly rude and unaccomodating. I never received the tokens that were part of the package. When I asked for a discount, I was practically laughed at! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

They need a website for information on prices, times for open bowling, tournaments, league openings, etc…

My boyfriend and I went there last night as just a last minute thing to do. They let us bowl a game as long as we were out before the league games started. It was alot of fun. I hadn’t bowled in a very long time. The best part was that they guy didn’t even charge us for shoes and he gave us a coupon to come back for a free game. Great Customer Service and probably the reason we will go back. 🙂

Furman you don’t want any piece of me. Bring your boy Scott and I will deal a cash game all night!

Hey Reed, up for some Black Jack?

For those complaining about the price, if you go on one of their special nights or sunday morning it only costs between $1.59 – $1.99 per game. But yea I would agree the normal price is quite high.
Other than that it’s a nice place, never had any problems with the employees or lanes not working.

Looking to improve the Rock n Bowl program, what would you do for any changes??? Contests, prizes, fee? etc..

Thanks to Mike for his comment. He have been back since the first week of October. We were there for 8 years until 2 years ago. No need to go into detail. If you have questions or comments about us, feel free to email me at {deleted}
As far as Sparetime Latham is concerned, they have improved with their customer service. We are only there Friday & Saturday nights from 11-1:30 am , so I’m speaking for those times.

hey 2/10/06 i know a lot of adults that work at places that do horrible jobs, at least teenagers don’t complain about their paychecks the way adults do, the place is newer and cleaner then a lot of other places if you don’t like kids working there then don’t go!!!

Comment Date: 12/19/2006 Name: Mike
At least the old DJ service is back for Rock n Bowl.

Never been but looking for a place for a party. Website has no prices, no hours, nothing! I tried to call but got no answer. Will not be going here for a party.

Comment Date: 4/7/2006 Name: bill
i normally go to uncle sam lanes but we were out that way for dinner on wed. night and we had a great time, i think the bowling alley has improved an awful lot, we had good service and an even better time

Comment Date: 3/2/2006 Name: Bill
Not worth the trip. We went to Latham to bowl and it cost a fortune. The lane kept breaking down and we had to be moved twice! The food was good, but not worth the price.

Comment Date: 3/2/2006 Name: No more!
Dont think we will be going there too often.
The staff were younger than our son
and not very helpful. The following week we went to bowling club and had a much better experience.
Think we found a new place to go.

Comment Date: 3/2/2006 Name: Anonymous
Are you kidding me? What’s with all the kids working there. Nobody knows too much. No attention to detail what so ever.

Comment Date: 2/11/2006 Name: Anonymous
Old lady housekeeper is Rude!!! to the customers in the morning, I think someone said she has been working there for 5 months..((new housekeeper is nice )) why would they hire someone like that??? Rude is not a nice game when you have peope paying and playing to bowl….

Comment Date: 2/10/2006 Name: MARK DID NOT HAVE A GOOD TIME!!!!
It’s pricey – too many teenagers working there. They do not know what they are doing at all.. They stand around and do nothing with their friends and the old maid that said she worked there for 4 months better tell her to get off her cell phone,,yak ‘yak yak ((I am a bowler.. I saw her in the bathroom.
Food is so high in price, let’s just bring our own. Someone needs more help up there. Needs more housekeepers 3 – would be good and a better cook. Start paying more people to work there and lower your prices in the food, there is always the burger joint next door.. Mark

A great center. It has just been redone. New everything. The only problem I have with this center is that they are extremely pricy in what they charge for a game. $3.95 How can you afford to take your family out for an inexpensive night when 3 games cost you $12.00.
Food also very high in price. Not your mom and pop lanes anymore.
