Hoebowl in Kingston is a joke as well. I had bowled there 2 times a week in leagues on different nights (and will not bowl there again). I have to say the staff is terrible and do not have a clue. I came in to practice one night before league and was told I could not by the lady behind the desk. Not only was she rude to me but treated me like I was a child. They lost a good person behind the counter and snackbar ( Sue was her name)then they fired their mechanic who was the only one I most nights and was the only one around there that knew anything about the equipment and machines or customer service. That same day,I heard they fired the manager, who ever he was ( I never saw him). He had no idea what was going on around the place anyway. Then they made the bartender the manager and she was rude and obnoxious. The place is going down hill,no pun intended. The parking lot is in disrepair, despite the few patches they did. The outside of building looks like something you would see in a 70’s getto movie in the slums. The lanes are horrible! The lanes were better 2 years ago, now they look like they are falling apart. The inside needs to be modernized. They still have those cheesy 60’s seats. When you pull in the parking lot you ask yourself do I really want to go in this place. They should have sold it to Dave and Steve when they had the chance, atleast then there would be an owner who cares about their customers.

stop puting in a house where your offices are. there are other centers that bring in more money. stop being so cheap, with updates and help.

It amazes me how everyone who works there is using illegal drugs. A few even smoke right in the open and then reek of pot the whole time they are there. They need to get a clue and fire these people. Its a family rec center, and all those kids are surrounded by drugs

Comment Date: 6/22/2011 Name: Anonymous
What a dump. The employees are idiots and have no clue what they are doing. The prices keep going up but the place still looks like a wreck. During my last visit someone tried to sell me drugs in the bathroom. I would never go there or any other hoe bowl with my kids again!

pretty much tried to get robbed last night by them. 30 dollars for 1 game of bowling, i dont think so. harrased by the guy at the counter in some ugly white striped sweater saying he was in the army and was going to call the cops. Will never bowl here again. Oh, and we werent even leaving when we were harrased to pay for our game, we were going to play some games. That guy was an a** and he really needs to learn that he works in a bowling alley and has no life.
fishkill bowl FTW!

Frank Wacha was a big part of that bowling center. He really knew what he was doing and noone can replace him. RIP Frank!!

mardi bob is my favorite bowling alley. The staff are nice its reasonably priced. Though the lanes there are a bit harder to bowl if you practice there alot youll do even better at other alleys

Mardi Bob has turned around!! I was afraid to bring my family there but now with new management and employees, the place has cleaned up!! I’ve been reading about how much they do for their community and fundraisers. If you need to throw a fundraising event, go to Mardi Bob, they are more than willing to help out someone in need. Go MardiBob!!! 🙂

I like bowling there but some staff there are not plesent.. They may want to re think what they wear to work. Not what i wanna see when i bring my family there

Comment Date: 7/25/2009 Name: Anonymous
no offense but id rather go to fishkill bowl. its a little farther of a drive but i think the quality beats any other bowling alley around. its kept very clean and the staff is great.

Mardi-Bob doesnt take care of their lanes and everything is so outdated that it is obvious the management doesn’t care much about this place. Anyone looking for some fun should try Fishkill Bowl. It is much nicer and cleaner and the staff is very friendly. Maybe you should consider moving your league there. I am sure you will be treated much better.

I hsve been bowling in the Elks league for over twenty years, it seems that we get treated like the poor relatives. This sunday the machine breakes down so we dont get any oil, but its amazing it gets repaired for the hangover league. You bring in a tounament we get moved around. Feel like our money is not as important as others. Sure would like to think that you want and need our bussiness. how about some fair treatment for our group or a discount for bowling on inferior conditions.

I see that they have new people working that is good. And we always have fun there

Comment Date: 9/2/2008 Name: Amanda
Unfortunately it’s the only bowling alley in Poughkeepsie (unless you want to travel up to Wappingers). The price per game is very expensive and the guy who runs the place on Saturday nights is always a jerk. We need a new bowling alley in Poughkeepsie..or maybe they need new management

Comment Date: 6/27/2008 Name: Hyde Park
Price is too high ($4.25 per game!). Other than that, it’s an OK place. I’d come here a lot more often if they’d lower the price.

Comment Date: 3/14/2008 Name: Billy
It is nice to see somebody giving back to the community. Anytime we go there to get passes or donations for the kids in our school htey are more then willing. And to also let people know if they dont all the things that the center and their manager do for the high school bowling teams it is amazing. They should be commended for this and not bashed by children that dont know what their talking about. Big praises to you Mardi Bob

The 2 gentlemen working friday and saturday night at the srevice counter are extremely helpful and very customer oriented. They go above and beyond there line of duty to help the customers. As for the male bartender he makes the strongest drinkls in dutchess county. I love that place so much and frequent that establishment.

Comment Date: 11/4/2007 Name: Rick
Terrible service. The night manager Eric is absolutely useless and extremely rude. After our lane ceased to function, Eric refused to return the money we had paid for a second game; a game which we had not even begun when the lane broke. When we tried to get a refund for the second game, he became outraged and acted in a very threatening manner toward myself and my group. At one point he even invited us to take our money out of the register and “see what happens”. He was generally unprofessional and not at all helpful. I recommend staying away from Mardi-Bob’s but if you still choose to go, seriously consider paying one game at a time, otherwise you might have to endure the same ordeal that my friends and I were forced through.

Mardi Bob is a fun place to come and bowl. The moonlight bowling is an awesome attraction. The DJ they have is allways looking to play what everyone wants to hear. The bar is a fun place to hang out with 2 pool tables and alot of fun people. They allways have something going on all year long. GREAT BOWLING ALLY!

Mardi Bob’s is awesome. Nice lanes, nice prices, fairly decent privacy (not as busy as the hoe bowl in wapp falls).

I would like to thank Mardi-Bob bowling. They are very generous to the community. They graciously give away many, many free games and allow groups to hold their meetings there. They also give their time and money to the community. Just read the local paper around Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. It’s too bad some naive kids try to ruin their reputation by posting nasty comments.

they were not very friendly to us when we trying to get a lane and no one was bowling. such *****

i think mardi bobs is the worst establishment ever created in bowling history. not only are the lanes dirty, but i heard the owner kicks babies in the face when they cnt bowl their own strikes! come on man, they are only month old, dont take it out on them too hard. i also heard you can get gonorrhea when using the toliets in the mens room. ouch my butt still hurts.

Comment Date: 2/2/2007 Name: aqua
that guy named sean and john are a******* to people, they only care about themselves.

Comment Date: 1/14/2007 Name: David
I didn’t think they were very friendly when I called to ask for lane availability. 🙁

To be quite honest, I haven’t bowl since Jr. High but after discovering this Bowling 2u web page & viewing all the lists of bowling alleys in NY State area, I am ready to set foot in the alley once again. As for Mardi-Bob Bowl? I have yet to set foot in Poughkeepsie to experience it. But I’m sure, It’s a cool alley to bowl. Its only a matter of time before I head up to Dutchess County & to see for my self. All in all, Bowling Rules!!! Nyc Pinhead has spoken!!

Comment Date: 3/19/2006 Name: glen just proved her point by insinuating she was an a**! You just caused yourself and “co-workers” to get shot in the foot. Good luck to you all.

I’m pretty sure that “Kellty” or whoever her name is, is an idiot. I work at Mardi Bob and there is no other place I would rather be. I make good money and my co workers are not rude. If they were rude to you sweetheart then you probably were being an a**.

Mardi-Bob has probably the best weekend rates around. It’s 15 dollars for two hours of bowling(Rock and Glow Style) Mardi-Bob Lanes are awesome.

I’ve never actually been to this bowling alley, but I hope to go someday…I guess that says something…damn, I’m really thirsty.

This bowling alley has pretty cheap prices but it is very dirty. The service is slow and the employees act like they don’t want to be there. They are not nice at all.

Our organization enjoys holding our bowling programs at Hoe Bowl Mardi-Bob. Their prices are unbeatable, their lanes are kept in great condition, their food is good, and they play great music. The employees are also fun and approachable. If you’re just meeting up with a few friends, or you’re having a party/program, Mardi-Bob is the best choice for you!
