This bowling alley is overpriced and the staff is rude especially Paul. He has a bad attitude toward customers.

I have also seen money go into pockets there. Glad i don,t bowl here in the winter. Going south.

first time bowling at farmingdale lanes and last time!!!! tall mgr on tuesday eve and little guy he works with lucas ? they are very rude and i believe they are stealing money from the 50/50 pot we all go in each week. they have been seen putting money in their pockets when counting. i was informed that the general manager is so nasty that it would be a waste of our time to approach him. the only good thing i can honestly say about farmingdale lanes is that the snack counter help and bar people are very courteous. dont know about other nights there and wont know because i will travel as far as i have to not to be in that place in the fall which i was planning on doing. miserable people there and it must start at the top!!!! cant wait for this summer league to end!!!! good riddence.!!!

This place is a dump. Its in a nasty area at night and the staff was incredibly rude. Too much money for not a whole lot

I came here from another bowling alley when my league fell apart. What a mistake! Definitely won’t be returning in september. This place is a dirty mess eith a very rude staff. Later.

Went there last weekend. Kids smoking pot in parking lot, dark and dirty. Food was horrible, staff nasty. Wont be going back, save your money.

The bathrooms are amazing and very clean and Chris is a good mechanic and does a great job. I do not like Paul the manager, he is rude and nasty.

Comment Date: 9/28/2011 Name: league bowler
I’m done with this place. It seems that no one knows what they’re doing here and the employees are all rude. I can’t stand how easy the lanes are, everyone thinks they are good bowlers here. I’m going to bowl at lanes where customer service is a priority.

Comment Date: 9/19/2011 Name: patty
I did not like this place. Overpriced, underwhelming. Food was not good and was overpriced and the desk person was no where to be seen. Dirty, and nit well kept. Sorry, won,t be going back.

Comment Date: 8/13/2011 Name: Susan
Bowling and food are over priced. Paul is nasty manager. I rather bowl at AMF Babylon.

John laspina that $20,000 came in handy thankyou.

I just started on the Tuesday Night league with Eddie, and after the second week, they told me Eddie does not work there anymore. Oh well, I know Eddie for a long time from many other Bowling Alleys, and as soon as I find out where he is working next, I will be sure to follow. He really knows what he is doing with leagues and parties.

The parking lot needs to be updated and the GM Maz is very rude to his employees. He has no personality and is very sour.

Comment Date: 11/21/2009 Name: League Bowler
I just wanted to say that farmingdale lanes is the best center around they dont give in to all the other center high scoring its so nice to know they have bowling in best interest of the bowlers

Comment Date: 5/26/2009 Name: Local Bowler
I’ve seen this place go though all kinds of changes from owners to renovations, but one thing still bothers me after 38 years…..
“Re-Pave the Parking Lot Already”!!!
It feels like i’m in brooklyn when I pull into that lot. 🙂

I watched an all women league bowl this morning and marvelled at some of the scores and hits during the first 2 games….however, during the 3rd game they couldn’t hit the wall with any type of accuracy. The reason? KIDS! Loads and loads of kids yelling, screaming, lights flashing and watching a show on a large screen while the league is trying to bowl for score.
I have never seen league players fold so quickly and completely. The GM, whoever he is, should be taken to task and be instructed on how to run a bowling alley, where leagues are concerned! If I were in that league, I would be sure that next year will find us in another bowling facility…

Comment Date: 3/17/2009 Name: Chris
The staff is rude and the GM Maz does not seem to care about his staff. The drinks at the bar are overpriced and are water downed. I rather bowl someplace else.

Comment Date: 2/21/2009 Name:  Anonymous
Good place, very modern and good lane conditions. Good customer service also, my ball got damaged there and the manager replaced it with no cost…Thanks Maz

I am a league bowler at Farmingdale Lanes and until today I thought they provided excellent service. I went in to bowl a few games and when i went over to my lane I realized it was right in the middle of a 5 year old birthday party. There were about 30 lanes open so we asked to be moved to a lane where there were not kids running into my lane and throwing balls down my lane as well. The 3 individuals working at the counter were incompetent and rude. They refused to move us as they had to “oil” the other 30 lanes. No oil was ever applied and they have lost 4 league players due to their lack of customer service.

This bowling alley needs to be updated. When I asked the bartender for a drink of water to take my pill, she said I have to charge you $2.00 because of the cup. The bartender has black hair and was working during a fundraiser. She also uses foul language and should be terminated. I told this to Maz about her attitude and he did not seem to care one bit. {Deleted inappropriate comments}

I remember going to Farmingdale Lanes & it is not a very bad bowling alley. The monitor screen looks like the one from Rab’s Country Lanes in Staten Island, NY. Only one thing to say is that the bowling balls that they had was the AMF Extreme bowling ball & my goodness, I used it one time & the ball did not hook as well as the other bowling ball such as the Brunswick Blast Zone (that has hooking motion), maybe I will try my luck for converting a strike or a spare with my own Blast Zone & I can only go for a “straight away” shot like it was from the 1980’s era. And I do watch alot of classic bowling on a VCR tape.

I did see the bartender on Thursday night with her hand in the cookie jar. alot of money was put in the pocket.

Comment Date: 3/1/2008 Name: anonymous
i’m not the best bowler but i love farmingdale lanes, i’m there at least once and week. the staff especially is very approachable.

Comment Date: 2/15/2008 Name: Ralph
they should rip out the lanes and instead have people drive buses around the building running everybody over. The way service is now that would be a massive improvement and make for a much more fun experience.

I work here and there are plenty of balls. we have the smart ball system and have plenty of bowling balls in all sizes…either this guy has made it up, or couldn’t figure out the smart ball system himself. anyone of us would have helped him.

Comment Date: 11/22/2007 Name: al
the place may look better than it used to but it is impossible to find a ball there that fits a normal size hand..bring your own ball if you have one, otherwise dont bother because you will be pissed off and not have fun

I don’t understand what are the people of farmingdale lanes complaining about in there General manager Maz Farina. I have worked for maz when he was with AMF,and let me tell you that he was great with all the bowlers and with the employees.Maz was very fair with everyone, yeah sure there are people around that didnt like him,but you can’t be liked by everyone you meet. But i can say this Maz cares about this game and about people he will make farmingdale a bowling center that everyone would want to be a part of and that goes for the employees to.I had never worked for a manager who was fair and honest and treated us like we were apart of his family. So let me tell you hoiw i feel about farmingdale lanes, maz was put in a bad spot by the LaSpina family when he had to work with the Cavangero’s,the customers had to see Ray yelling at maz every chance he had in his bi-polar ways. While the LaSpina family was enjoying themselfs.Meanwhile this poor guy had a heartattack under the watchfully eye of the Cavagnero family and didnt have the common courtesy to get maz on the health care within the 90 day of hire which he was so entitle to and then had a nerve to leave him with large amounts of doctor bills which will take him the reat of his life worring how they will get paid.So the Cavangero’s shouldn’t be so happy and telling people how he got screwed, because they screwed all the employee’s of farmingdale lanes. I’ll tell i know Maz very well and the LaSpina family should be indeed happy that they have a person like maz around, and should show some courtesy to maz.Maz should have a long term with the laspina family just for he did for them. And i didn’t even mention the fact that maz brand new car was damaged the day after the LaSpina family bought farmingdale lanes, so that just goes to show these people how roten the Cavagnero are.Maz you should have a life time job there just for the bull you had to go though.Maz all of your former employee wish you well, and thanks for the friendship.

All the staff are complete jacka**es, but the lanes are all different from most, they are still wood and have not made the transition to synthetic. Many people have a hard time on them, but I myself find it easier. If you throw a huge hook, you will have a lot of success here because you can make more mistakes and still strike. The only thing is that the alley is built on a downward slope, so depending what lane you are bowling on, you will leave a lot of 7 and 10 pins, even if it is a perfect shot. I love it and average around 214 and am 16 years old. Shout Out to Nicole Amato!

it seems that someone, probably the old partner with the bad hair plugs is trying to make the lespina family look bad….they challenge the employees to make good things happen for the bowlers. i have worked in many places, but i now work for them and can tell you that these guys are tough but fair with us, care about us as individuals and whoever is trying to make them look bad is blowing smoke….good things will come to farmingdale and the bowlers will be the winners…dont believe the a**holes who think otherwise…go to maple, coram and gil and you will see great bowlers who are happy with the way they run things…i know this will happen…don’t believe the crap a few creeps are writing…just watch it happen…

I don’t understand the bashing of a gm who was being pulled in 3 directions…..owner 1, owner 2, customers! I challenge anyone to balance the situation as well as Mr. Farina…….considering he paid for it with a mild heart attack(thank you owners)!
As a league bowler who has bowled in many centers for over half a century, I can honestly say that Maz is an excellent manager, whose bottom line is BOWLING! I wish him well.

Comment Date: 5/23/2007 Name: anti-frankie
we are looking foward to all the great changes the laspina family, maz the gm, and alex the head mechanic are going to bring to the staff and bowlers at farmingdale lanes. The labor board should go after the old owner ray for harrasing the employees and bowlers.

Comment Date: 5/7/2007 Name: frankie the cheech
laspina family and maz farina have something to look forward to how are they going to screw there employees and the bowlers. the labor board should be called about how maz treats the employees. mental cruelity

Comment Date: 4/22/2007 Name: JohnV
Overall one of the toughest shots on the island, but a few leagues and open play are nicely walled. Synthetic aproaches are quite often sticky. It’s a bad idea letting the children bowl on fresh oil when the leagues have to contend with all the oil tracks left by them walking all over the lanes afterwards. Maintenance slow to respond.

Comment Date: 4/11/2007 Name: gerard
i think that maz farina should be terminated he does not know how to treat people

Comment Date: 4/6/2007 Name: jerry
i think your general mgr maz should be terminated for how he treats the employees& the bowlers

farmingdale lanes is the best. many people just say it s*cks because they never get good reactions. i average around 200 and i am 15 years old. Some of the staff are a bit dumb but overall, it’s good. I’ve had ten games over 240 in the last week!

Comment Date: 8/27/2006 Name: Neil
As far as I can see, it’s the one of the few centers on long island that caters to league bowlers, instead of pushing them away. They have leagues for all levels of bowling. The lanes look good. The customer service is good, very friendly. Nice scorers. Plenty of leagues to choose from.

Comment Date: 4/18/2006 Name: JOE
The place has really improved. The end pins are still a problem.

Place looks great, good to see a center that is improving rather than closing. Some kinks to still be worked out as well as cosmetics but the place is on pace to be a premier farmingdale, long island bowling experience !!!!

New owners (thank goodness), new lanes, new computer scorers . . . has the potential to be the best bowling center on Long Island.
