This place is so dirty, I don’t want to touch a bowling ball I would rather go to Jefferson Valley Lanes which is about 10 minutes away from Cortland lanes, the place is clean and there balls are clean. I can actually sit on a chair there without feeling like I’m stuck to it.

The new lanes look good. I just need to adjust my game now. Good prices and the snack bar is affordable. The Thursday night special is a good deal and the people who work there are always nice. Can’t wait to bring my cousins when they visit this summer. All together a nice experience.

I don’t know what all these people below are complaining about. I love to bowl here. Staff seems kind of friendly and sometimes I don’t even pay to bowl. I get to sub alot and still really don’t have to pay. A kind older man that works there even gave me my own ball! Parking is free, bowling is free and the snack bar is nicely priced. WHats not to like? These complaining people need to get a grip. I walked out several times forgetting to pay and the guy who the previous person was mentioning named Erick said it was okay and to not sweat it. I love this place!!! Cortlandt Lanes is the best!

Pro shop sexual harassment huh? That must be why that guy Ray dissapeared. They’re trying to pay for their new synthetic lanes and cutting corners anyway they can. You just knew raising prices was gonna come. Then league fees are next I’m sure. The employee turnover rate there is ridiculous. The bartender is scary and I was told by a guy Eric there that he “pulls all the strings”. Leagues are still poorly run.Drunken idiots everywhere. Maybe those folks can all get together in parking lot and just get a keg and leave the serious bowlers inside. Bowling is a wonderful sport it’s just a shame that this place is so poorly run. The manager guy Rich does a good job but Eric says his hands are tied when it comes to hiring qualified people. It’s always too hot when you bowl no matter what season. Turn your ceiling fans on/up already! If they’re broken, fix them! You’re making enough money to at least do that. This place has to get it’s act together soon. The special on Wednesday and Thursday is still a good deal and the only reason to come bowl if you don’t mind it being too late. Loose that and it’s over. You can loose that guy Eric though. Too opinionated . The woman that used to be there was nice. A hard a** , but you could tell she at least cared and stuff seemed to be more enjoyable at least when she was there.

I’ve went there a couple times and noticed a lot of things I was unhappy about. I’ve never been in a league there but as far as open bowling, it’s a mess. They change their hours whenever they feel like it. They just changed it from 11am to 3pm, I show up with my family and it’s closed. They did that once before from what I remember as well and I bet they wonder why people don’t show up early. They took out the best special they had (family night special) and i guess didn’t make any money so brought it back. It definitely makes me not want to go back. I’d rather go to JV lanes where the hours and specials are more consistent.

Hey proshop guy can I get a ball without the sexual harassment.

Comment Date: 3/22/2010 Name: hottie4u
LOL at the comment about rich. From what ive seen I wouldnt say that everyone is not nice there. There is this guy who works there who is always nice and is a cutie pie. I believe his name is TIm. Everyone hates him though and talks about him that works there but he doesnt care cause {deleted}

Currently, the MOONLIGHT BOWLING is from ten p.m. to twelve midnight. These hours are or the summer. After summer, I think the hours change. Moonlight bowling is tons of fun!

A Good Alley With Good Food Enjoy and Really When Is Midnight Bowling

Comment Date: 5/24/2009 Name: A wise guy
Don’t you think the Midnight Bowling might occur at Midnight?

Comment Date: 3/16/2009 Name: Dolores
First of all I have to agree about the house balls. These things look like something Fred Flintstone used to use. They’re about 5 minutes away from not even being round anymore. That guy Rich behind the counter might just be the slowest almost brain dead person there next to the bartender. Rich in my opinion is not capable of handling open bowling let alone the midnight or even league bowling. The bartender is horrible. Not the woman I’ve seen but the guy. If you don’t want to be there than just quit! Trust me, if you’re waiting for a tip just to open a beer maybe you ought to work in a real bar or pub. They’re online prices don’t reflect a shoe increase. They used to include shoe rental in there open bowling special but now they bang you for 3 more bucks. Come on! I have my own shoes but some people I bring do not. Total scam. There are some good people who work there and it unfortunitely goes unnoticed due to the other employees who just don’t wanna be there or just don’t care. Clean up your act because JV looks pretty good guys.

you should post when your midnight bowling is.

Comment Date: 2/18/2009 Name: Kim
In all my experiences, they are not very friendly for the most part. If you happen to find someone nice working there, they won’t last. Had a birthday party for my son about 1 1/2 years ago, they quoted me one price and what would come with it. The day of the party(after JV Bowl temporarily shut for roof issues)the price was more per person and all that was suppose to be included, wasn’t. My son was very upset and they could care less. My son was 5 years old. They spoke to me and argued with me in front of my guests and my child and said they changed there packages and if I wanted what was suppose to come with it now would cost more. My son left crying, they could care less. They are not busy anymore because they have a horrible business ethic and there personalities need a major overhaul.

Been going there since like before high school, its always been a cool alley, Bar needs updating, and mabye a couple new game machines wouldnt hurt, ( =

This place is ok except that it always looks a little dingy. The lanes look burnt out and in dire need of replacing. Most of the employees are really nice except the bartender. I’ve seen dog turds with more personality. The prices are decent. The food is typical bowling alley snackbar fare. The pro shop guy is ok. He did make a mistake on my ball but he fixed it no charge.

Comment Date: 12/12/2008 Name: pinny
I noticed that they lost a lot of business. I’ve been going for years with the kids and it used to be they needed both sides to fit everyone in. NOW, they can’t even fill one side. I can tell you been to Jefferson Lanes and booked solid. Couldn’t get my kids in for a league. They need to clean this place up a bit.

Comment Date: 11/9/2008 Name: Vito
And you dont see a hell of a lot of negroes there either.

Comment Date: 6/20/2008 Name: Greg
The Balls are usually pretty crappy and you have to agree with me on that. i dont have my own ball so i have to use balls that have chunks taken out of them along with the fingerholes being way out of place for my hands. getting a lane here is always a mission. you cant do anything about this. its first come first serve but sometimes people just sit there with their lanes and i think they should keep a better eye on this. the employees are usually great. i do remeber when i was younger with my friends that they do get a little snappy with you. depends on your age but thats everywhere.

…bowled a 185. I love this place.

hi “bobby”. I wonder if you have ever been INSIDE the bowling alley. If you have, any sensible person could tell you that these lanes are perfect the way they are. Besides, synthetic lanes won’t give anyone the natural bowling experience that they came to get, would it?

Comment Date: 12/12/2007 Name: VELL
Cortlandt Lanes is the best place to bowl!. The people who work there are friendly, helpful, and know what they are talking about. They treat us like family and always have a smile and a kind word ready. And for those negative commenters out there, I am not related to anyone who works there and I do not work there myself. Maybe if you opened yourself up to having fun and gave Cortlandt Lanes a genuine smile, it would smile back at you.

Comment Date: 12/10/2007 Name: will
I think that anyone who does not like these lanes is either crazy, rude, or doesn’t deserve to be treated well. The service, pricing and quailty ROCK!!!!!
P.S. I do NOT, I repeat, NOT! work here. Thats just for the record, okay, mike?
GO COURTLANDT LANES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

I love cortlandt lanes! the service is great! love gayle! (if thats how you spell her name)Love everyone they are so nice! There is one proble tho. The pro-shop! He doesnt know how to drill balls correctly and he has a horrible attitude and is WAY TOO expensive! he should lower his prices and not be so mean!

Comment Date: 10/18/2007 Name: Ron…
I am going there now just for the chance to meet “Liz” – her energy alone is what makes the place sound great! She sounds so bubbly, free, and all about NOT being a hater! So Liz if you read this… hit me back! I am looking for someone REAL and positive. I will shortly report back with the results of my visit. Take Care!

Comment Date: 9/14/2007 Name: Liz
HI Shayna and mike. I am Liz and I do not work here nor am I a {deleted}. I LOVE THE PLACE.

Comment Date: 7/9/2007 Name: Bobby
The place needs to invest in fixing up its lanes. They are in need of a serious resurfacing or they need to replace them with synthetic lanes. With all the money they are now taking in since Jefferson Valley collasped, they need to put spend the money on the lanes and not on the exterior of the building.

Comment Date: 6/22/2007 Name: Shayna
wow this place s*cks b*tt

Comment Date: 6/20/2007 Name: mike
This place is terrible. Not only does the service s*ck but the place is just dirty in general. Jefferson Valley lanes is much cleaner and we never have a problem getting a lane there. Also in the second room the roof is way to low and it makes you feel like a bunch of sardines. I give this bowling alley a C-. Everyong is posting a positive comment obviously works there and if they dont are just a bunch of {deleted}.

Comment Date: 5/14/2007 Name: Dan
Cortlandt Lanes, although it has wooden lanes, is a very good alley, and I disagree with the price rating, it is the cheapest alley in the area

Comment Date: 1/13/2007 Name: Jon
midnight bowling is a great deal of fun…when you can actually go to it. it is incredibly annoying that you cannot reserve over the phone and if you go there and everything is full then all you get is a “too bad”. besides that, cortlandt lanes is an exceptional bowling alley

Comment Date: 1/7/2007 Name: HUDDIE
DUDE, never try to steal a bowling pin…if your not careful the machine sweeps you back and crushes you…owe

Comment Date: 9/23/2006 Name: Liz
Justin, maybe your attitude was so horrible, no one wanted to help you. This bowling alley rocks!

Comment Date: 8/5/2006 Name: Eric
Justin your a dumb a**, this bowling alley is awsome, and the people working are very kind

Comment Date: 8/3/2006 Name: Justin
Same person, I accidentally hit enter which added my comment before I was done. I forgot to mention that when I got french fries, I admittedly took a little time to decide what I want, but I should be able to think about what I want to eat. The lady there was telling me to hurry up(although nobody was behind me). Whoever says the employees there are nice don’t know what theyre talking about.

Comment Date: 8/3/2006 Name: justin
This place is terrible. I went on Saturday night with some friends for midnight bowling, and we got the lanes with no trouble. However, in one of the earlier frames one of my friends took a shot, and the pins did not reset. After about 10 minutes of repeatedly asking for help they finally fixed it.
About 20 or 25 minutes later the same thing happened. When we asked for help to the lady doing the “dollar-shot” announcements, she refused, saying we were throwing the balls to hard. So, we went around looking for somebody who might help us, but to no avail. After about 25 minutes we just went to the front desk and waited for somebody to come and demanded our money back(which we got). Whoever says the people who work there are nice

I love this bowling alley. I go there all the time. They are the best. The people who work there are so friendly.

We have tried for two weeks to go to the midnight bowling offered by Cortlandt Lanes. We were first told to just show up and get a spot first-come-first-serve, however, when we arrived all spots were full and this was before the time that they said they would begin accepting reservations. The next week we arrived much earlier and were again told that it was full and that we could prepay for next week (we couldn’t go the next week). Also, during phone conversations with the lanes we have been told to prepay, make reservations, or to just show up early. Attempts to reserve a spot have been denied. We are still attempting to go bowling tomorrow, only if we can figure out what their policy actually is. It would be great if they just chose one and stuck with it (preferably reservations/first-come-first-serve).

During the day all summer long games are $2.00 each and kids can wear sneakers to play. I take my family- two adults and three kids- there and for $20.00 we can play two games each. It is a great value for anyone who has a family, on those rainy summer days!

Comment Date: 7/13/2004 Name: Denise
It is $4 per person, per game.

Yes you should definately post the price.
