Hey Steve stop erasing the posts on the site, the bowl ers deserve the truth **NOTE** B2U has no one on staff named Steve – B2U Staff**

I have never posted a positive or negative comment on this site even though I have been tempted. Anyone using MY name, please stop and use your own or a ficticious one. I am saddened by what appears to be happening at Baldwin. I had 17 years there and built a great rapport with most of my bowlers. I miss the industry and the customers although I must say that the Shasho family are the owners and they have the right to do whatever they want at Baldwin or Massapequa. Egal was a friend and had wisdom for the businesses and knew when to leave things alone. The bowling industry is in tough shape right now so anything negative is a combination of things, not just poor managment. I wish my customers and former employees only the best. I do visit NY every 3 months or so and have seen many of my friends/ customers at RVC lanes.

3 spelling errors in one sentence,1) threw the new york area,2) finacial ?, and 3) dificulties. CEO of a real estate company, heaven help us. Which employee are you ? or owner ?

Comment Date: 2/18/2011 Name: whaleneck enterprises
The ownership is very wealthy and sucessful family with very profitable real estate venues threw out the N.Y area, including massapequa bowl and baldwin bowl, and a new location soon in the making. The notion that they are having finacial dificulties is utterly ridiculous and untrue. R.F.K CO.

things are looking good at baldwin bowl, (the owners has not been there for years, now they are there almost every time i’m there). lots of changes! new large monitors, great lanes and machines. high scores, and the place is clean. i have not seen any leaks… i also checked the county records, that just refinanced, therefore, that could not be in foreclose and they where NEVER in chapter 11 . my opinion, we need to be supporters of the place. The owners have been in the bowling business for over 20 yrs. the oldest member of the family is in his 40’s, that means they will be is business for the next 20-30 yrs. AMF might close – AMF Sheridan Lanes
199 East Jericho Turnpike, its a lease and the owner is trying to sell it. Remember van wyke??? amf closed it mid season with no warning!!! these owners would not do it. they try to save money because they are business people. The place is going up!! check out the 1.50 a game 9-5! they are really good people!

When I began bowling at Baldwin Lanes; There were windows along the wall near lane 28, The “300” Wall of Fame consisted of about 8 names, The Control Desk was behind Lanes 13 and 14 facing the away from the lanes, your ball was returned above ground, and scores were kept by pencil. GUESS WHAT-NOBODY COMPLAINED!!! Now, 25 years later, there is Ira, Pete and the rest of the staff working hard to make things enjoyable for the bowlers, computerized scoring, a wall full of honor scores showing that this is a bowler friendly lane condition, and at during certain times you can still practice/bowl for under $2 a game. GUESS WHAT-EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING! Reading some of these posts, I cant help but laugh. Too much water in the parking lot. Come on. It’s the same parking lot as the library. Are people threatening to get their books from another town? Nope. I think everyone needs to back off a bit and let the decision makers upgrade the place as they see fit. Offer suggestions instead of being a critic. It’s BOWLING — it’s suppose to be fun.

Despite seeing so much negativity from disgruntled people on this site, I went to Baldwin the other night and had a an amazing time with my buddies. The staff was very friendly and the cosmic glow in the dark lights were fun. Nothing was more relaxing than having ice cold beers while bowling. Cheers to the people who run the place. Coming back soon

Be nice to the new manager he’s probably the most descent person you’ll ever meet. he can’t help it that his boss is a jerk and doesn’t know how to treat people or run a bowling center.

I would like to say that I have met Peter Slavaska (manager of Baldwin Lanes) & he can get the lanes ready for amateur bowlers to prepare to roll for bracket money & the top finishers will be advanced to the championship round. This will be determine if the bowler qualifies for the next round robin by scoring the highest bowling average in amateur bowling & the entry fee that I pay was a $60 entry fee. My scoring average was lower than any other bowler in the league & I did not qualify for the next match.

If you don’t stop writing negative comments about specific employees at Baldwin Lanes, you will have a law suit against your firm. This is no joke. I strongly suggest that you carefully edit all future comments before posting them on your web site… ***NOTE: does not write comments, either positive or negative, about any bowling center. its so silly… i went to baldwin the other nite and had a great time with my friends. the customer service was great as opposed to u sourpusses about ur nonsense. CLEARLY u have nothing better to do than to have reminders on ur calanders to go on this website blog and write negative comments under “Anonymous”, “ex league bowler”, and such. To all u big talkers y wont u actually contact the mananger and express ur “discontent” instead of tryn to lure customers away if u care so much…… huh geniouses….. I had a great time and im definatey coming back. AND TO MAKE MY POINT i bet u someone will respond to my post. get a life and GROW UP. my 6 six old has more manners. you are an embarassment to yourselves.

Ive been reading alot of the comments on here and am very surprised, Baldwin Bowling Lanes is great fun!!! Ive been coming here for years. They hired new employees to replace the old ones, put thousands in decorating the place (its so beautiful and decorative now!), has the party room up and running as well as the other Lounge too. The place is clean, the food is great (try the mozz. sticks and slushies mmm), the people are very kind, and most important, the bowling lanes are great. This place really has changed, and you should check it out by coming in!!

The season is in full swing at Baldwin. First a big thumps up to Pete Slavska. How this guy has survived all that has gone on at Baldwin is beyond me. He gets absolute zero support from the staff there and the GM is worthless. My team stayed this season not to support this house but to support the hardest working person there.

Comment Date: 10/1/2008 Name: Current Baldwin Fan…
Why go to AMF Garden City when you have the best customers, leagues and employee’s on Long Island at Baldwin Lanes? How soon we forget that AMF Van Wick closed there doors without even letting there leagues finish there season. All those negative rumors about Baldwin Lanes are untrue and unjustified. Drop by Baldwin and see what has been done. You might be surprised.

While there seems to be some disgruntled bowlers in regards to the changes at Baldwin, I feel the efforts of Peter are being overlooked.
When Greg (who is a great person) departed Balwin, Peter was thrown to the wolves. There were many changes demanded by ownership, which altered the way operations were run. Keep in mind this was done during the middle of the bowling season.
I have known Peter for over 25 years. During that time he was my friend’s father, a mentor, a teammate, and finally a friend of mine.
Peter is a hard worker, while trying to maintain the balance of running the house and enjoying his beloved sport of bowling. Hopefully he will have the opportunity to acquire better support during league play.
I am sure during the summer many of the true concerns from league and open bowlers a like will be addressed, so the 2008/09 season will be truly enjoyable for all.
I looked forward to the up coming season. I hope to see you at Baldwin……..

Since I have bowled in Baldwin for over 15 years and have seen plenty of changes. Why not give people a chance. Comments made here about people who work there, etc. is so juvenile. If you worked there and were let go, get over it. This happens in the best of places. A lot of negative comments made here would make one think that very immature person/people worked there and were left go. Yes, Greg is missed by a lot of people. Wish him well and only hope, like me, that things will get better. Remember, when you want to make a negative comment to the desk person, the GM or whoever else works there, you get more with honey (nice presentation of your remarks) than with vinegar. Grow up. Life is full of changes

I am the Manager of Baldwin Lanes and I am very upset to hear negative comments about the center. No place is perfect, and everyplace can be improved. Since Ira (the new GM), myself and Ann assumed overall daily responsibility for the center we have given 100% to satifying our customers, both open play and league bowlers. If you have any negatiove comments about our organization, please call me directly so I can fix the problem. I always try to be pro-active rather than re-active, and I am constantly striving to make Baldwin Lanes the premier center on Long Island.

Comment Date: 2/19/2008 Name: Pete
Since Greg left, Ira Pete and Ann have given 110% in making this a smooth transition for Ira, our new GM, both our league & open play bowlers. Al our staff is accomodating to our customers and our goal is to make Baldwin Lanes the premier center on the Island.

Hey Pete was working there while Greg was still so what are you talking about

Comment Date: 2/15/2008 Name: kathleen
reading all these comments about baldwin really shocks me. i imagine that they were written by a disgrunteled employee. Any time i have been to Baldwin, I had a great time and the employees were very accomadating. The new general manager has done his best to try and please everyone. It’s a shame that someone is trying to impede his success.

i think i just had the best experience ever in a bowling center. Baldwin Lanes has truly changed. Ive been a long time bowler at baldwin and the staff now are so friendly and willing to help with a smile. These past comments dont tickle my pickle but im definately going back to baldwin to have a great time with my family. Ever since greg left its been much smoother and positive i guess the new manager needs some Kudos! hope to meet him and say thanks for the awesome time.

When I was still on my high school’s bowling team, my coach always takes us to Baldwin Lanes as a 2nd choice. Their lanes and services are overall good, 5 times better than County Line Lanes in Rosedale, NY that was closed down due to their unfair business practices. I cannot believe I accepted a job opportunity there.

My buddies and I came down for the xtreme bowl. We got to the lanes about 9:30. There seemed to have been lanes open, but the staff had to clean the lanes from the bowlers before us. We asked the lady at the desk to add us to the list. She said we have no list. Ok then can we have a lane? She said all the lanes have to be finished before we can give you a lane. As we looked at the lanes, we noticed only 3-4 were still bowling.
Well we sat at the bar and had a beer. We were all wondering why we could not get a lane on the other side of the lanes. They were empty. The bartender was just about alive, and even after leaving him a ten dollar tip, we never even heard that this one is on us. We don’t usually ask for a buy back, but when you give a guy a ten, a thank you is in order.
We had a great time bowling. We bowled 120 if we were lucky. The music was kind of Blah, and the DJ never ran any trivia or any kind of contests like most alleys do. we go here because it is local, but the lanes need to get with the times, and a new bartender would bring in more business. But we had fun.

My daughter had her birthday party at this alley. I was so upset. The bowling portion of it was the only part that was decent. The lanes were nice. The kids bowled for an hour. My daughter ordered pizza which was cold, I took it back up to the woman in the cafe, she stuck her finger in the middle of the pizza, and said it’s fine. I asked to see a manager. The girl at the counter said the manager was not here. She told me to go see Sue at the cafe. I just left there. I knew I was getting no satisfaction from the center. I will never go back there again. I think if they had a manager there, it may have helped.

If you like synthetic lanes this is the house for you. Only comment the approach on the lanes are not universal. So be prepared to adjust for this. For some it is important and other not a big thing. Otherwise HAVE FUN.

very nice staff, helpful, personable. lanes are somewhat inconsistent. i am not a serious bowler so i think it is a nice place to bowl.
