No wonder why the place is cheaper than the other local alleys, you get what you pay for. They have no help there. I’d pay $10 extra somewhere else. Add some lights please!!!

Went with wife and kids, guys at the desk were obviously there just to pick up a pay check, there was a problem with my alley and there solution was to screw up my score and subsequently everybodies after me! will give it one more chance.

I wouldn’t recomend this bowling alley to anyone! the front desk is so rude! Since I stopped going to montvale I go to Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park. What a differance!

Comment Date: 2/21/2008 Name: Anonymous
I had the same experience with that woman at the front desk. An older woman who was angry, obnoxious, and very rude. They really need to get rid of her, or put her behind the pins for when the machine has a problem.
I felt very uncomfortable with my wife and kids. Other wise the place was good.
Since there is no way to avoid her, Ill just drive a little further with my family to a different bowling center that is more welcoming.

Nice clean and family oriented establishment. Lady who works the desk and answers the phone could use an attitude adjustment. Not too nice. Guys who work the desk at night and on the weekends are extremely friendly. Lowest prices in the area($3 before 5 and $4 after 5 and $4 all weekend) No cosmic bowling but can still have a good time. Bar is very busy and snack bar has descent food. Call ahead on the weekend or else you might be waiting over an hour and a half. Proshop is never open, not sure if anyone actually runs it or if it is vacant. Definitely a 9 out of 10 on the must go scale

Would highly recommend this bowling alley – bowl in a league here and also sometimes on weekends staff is very nice and prices are lower than most places in the area

Montvale lanes is the best place for people to be

Comment Date: 6/5/2007 Name: bowler
Been bowling here many times, in a league that starts today. Montvale lanes are an excellent place to bowl for both beginner and advanced bowlers. The oil pattern is standard, but the customer service is excellent, price is okay ($4.00 a game after 5:00PM) ($3.00 a game before 5:00PM).
the food is great!.lol
I did an experiment and bowled at 2 different, local bowling alleys (montvale lanes and pearl river lanes) i have to say, that after my 3 game series in each was finished, i bowled a 40 pin average higher in montvale lanes! good job guys keep up the good…. stuff =]

BEST LANES IN THE AREA! The food is great bar is great, workers there are friendly and fix the problems fast. i give it a 5/5

Comment Date: 4/19/2007 Name: Frequent visitor
I love the guys at the desk.
I don’t really score extreme games like I do at the new Lodi, but I certainly never bowl really bad ones. Nice, consistent. The people that bowl here are annoying, but hey, it isn’t there fault.

Comment Date: 2/16/2007 Name: Anonymous
Nice lanes. Beautiful oil patterns, nice guys at the desk who know what their doing. This place needs a real pro shop manager.

Comment Date: 2/5/2007 Name: Anonymous
hey any one ther in montvale know a frank mignone that bowled there

Comment Date: 1/23/2007 Name: Bowl here frequently
Great bowling alley, good snack bar, great staff. Mechanics/oilmen know what they are doing, lanes don’t really break down, synthetic.
Brunswick automatic scoring, great seating layout (you can actually fit your balls near where you’re bowling!), but can get very busy on holidays, weekends, and rainy days. Leagues are great, people are pleasent, call ahead to make sure you can get a lane. Prices are better than other alleys in the area. I’ve been bowling there for more than tweleve years now, never had a bad experiance.

Great bowling alley. Lived in Montvale for 8 years and never been. Joined my company’s bowling league and was pleasantly surprised on the size, the quality of the lanes and how good the food is. Nice pro shop that is only open on two evenings during the week. They should consider none of which is one our night to bowl.

I’v been to many bowling alleys and this one is my favorite to go to. I scored my highest sofar here and its a very fun place.

Decent lanes. Tough to carry a head pin sometimes but Karl’s breath smells like cabbage. Lot of back end in this house.

The first time I went there I was so happy because I have never gone to this bowling alley.

I shot 412 here, and I’m a nice guy! Anybody looking for an anchor??

This is an older wood lane house which could benefit from having a Pro Shop and a bigger bar area. The Pro Shop area seemed to be closed all the time & hours are not bowler friendly! Bar was dark and small. Not a great place to hang out. Snack bar was OK. Parking was good. This center is geared for league bowling and has a number of competitive league nights (they close very early! 12:30AM) So, call ahead if you are a casual bowler. The league Director (Jean) was a very professional & knowledgable person and I enjoyed talking to her. If you have any questions over the phone, ask for her, because just about everybody else there seemed to be going through the motions. The Manager seemed not to be able to answer a simple question about any lane availability! Give your League Director a RAISE!
Lanes are kept clean and you should find it to be a competitive shot. Lane Mechanics. seemed to be slow but competent. I give it a 3.5 over all.
