Use to be a decent place to bowl like 15 yrs ago. Now it looks like an outdated run of the mill bowling center with questionable clientele and staff. Word to the wise, keep a close eye on not dropping any amount of cash from your pocket…cause someone will quickly pick it up and tell you they didn’t see anything. Anyone with class should steer clear of this place and choose a center in another county.

I have joined a league and have been bowling there for two years now. The staff is great and the lanes are clean. I’m new to bowling so I’m glad to have joined at an alley that has been a good experience so far.

After not bowling for approximately 35 years, I recently joined a women’s league and bowled at the Eagle Rock Bowling Center. The Center is a bit dated but is clean and the lanes are well maintained. Of course, the folks that worked there, Greg and Joe, are wonderful and helpful, and I have high regard for Mickey in the pro shop; he is a real “pro”. I’m glad now that it’s a smoke-free environment, I can enjoy bowling and at the Eagle Rock Bowling Center. Thank you Greg, Joe and Mickey for making my return to bowling a pleasure.

The bathrooms seem to hold up ok when I use them. The lanes are in fair-good shape, although I think my nephew Robert Mushtare could have added another six or seven 900 series, had he bowled at Eagle Rock Lanes when was 12 years old.

I can not believe the nasty comments about these lanes. My son joined the USBC youth league last year at these lanes. Thanks to their care for children, my son has a 170 average after 2 years of bowling. The manager Lance is the best. He will explain what it is that you need to do to perfect your game (in terms anyone can understand).
I have bowled at these lanes for over 30 years.
The staff rocks.
Come on in and see for youself – heck join a league while you are at it!

I’ve been going to this bowling alley for over 15 years, not because its a good center, but because I live down the street. I know all the ends and outs. To those that had a good time there, you lucked out. The staff aren’t professional and the manager Lance is a jerk. Snack bar is no good, and the bar is overpriced. The equipment and machines are outdated. There are other great centers with better technology/service…Belleville, East Hanover, Linden….that would be more worth your while.

This is the first time I went to a bowling alley in New Jersey and the place is really nice and the lanes and everything is clean. The people who worked there were so nice. Thank you for a great time.

I’m surprised at the negative comments. We just had my nine year old’s birthday party, and everyone, from the manager to the guys in the kitchen, could not have been nicer. I’d say its worth the trip!!

oh wow!
I’ve never been to the place and thought I look it up and take my kids there today, but too many consistent bad comments out weighing the good. Don’t think I’m going to risk going to this alley. Thanks for the feed backs.

Eagle Rock lanes is a fun house, but the lanes arent that good. The staff especially this manager by the name of Lance is horrible! Guy is a complete jerk for 100lbs. Very disrepectful dude. With people like him at the frontline how can you get any new clients. Dude should be fired!

We are a licensed Childcare Center in the Essex County area. We take our Summer Camp there every year. We have never had a problem with any of the staff. They have never been disrespectful. They have always been attentive to our every need. They have always been courteous and polite. The children always enjoy themselves.
Thanks Eagle Rock Lanes

How much is Eagle Rocks Lane bowling?

Comment Date: 7/21/2009 Name: sara
i’ve been going to bowl at eagle rock lanes for years with friends and family–the people there are just fine, they do their job and help when you ask them. I love the laser, disco bowling late at night–It’s a fun way to practise or kill time.

I wanted to add my comments since seeing all the negative posts I’ve seen. First off there are three sides to every story. Second, my children have beed bowling there in leauges for about 5 years now and the staff have always treated us kindly and with respect. As a matter of fact, one of the senior staff members has taken the time (at no charge) to work with my 10 year old son, encourages him and gives him confidence to be the great bowler that he is. I would not take my children anywhere else. This is old school style bowling or should I say, a real bowling alley. Their pro shop is great and I do all my purchases there. So keep this in mind when reading all the posts.

it seems like there is a always leagues going on and i always have to find a different bowling alley

Comment Date: 12/11/2008 Name: AWARE
now i know why the lanes are bad.and not taken care of properly.if you pay to bowl and love the game as much as i do.then you would take good care of your house.

Shame on you idiots!! I will never come there again with attitudes like yours! I say fire everyone Mr. Owner!!

Comment Date: 6/13/2008 Name: Sally
I tend to agree with the ‘rude comments.’ Most of the staff don’t realize that they need to be polite. A smile, a hello, how can I help you? does wonders! They must realize they are in a “service industry” and, as such, are in the customer “service” business. Many people I know go to different lanes fro two reasons: the cleanliness (or should I say, the lack thereof) and the attitude of the staff. Both those things are fixable.
For the price they charge, there needs to be an overhaul!

bowling there is fun but the people who work there are the worst. they are rude and impatient. this place smells like holly hell. but the food is a 8 out of 10

Bowling is fun. The bowling ally was very nice but the only thing that bothered me was that the people that worked there were very rude.

the center has an illegal shot.manager is not interested in bowlers comments about lane conditions, desk help, etc.lanes hook way to much for league conditions especially for older bowlers.approaches are filthy and so are the floors. they refuse to oil prior to leagues.cares about open bowlers and parties.

I called Eagle Rock Bowling lanes today 11-15-06, 2:15pm; To ask info about open bowling. The man that answered the phone was very Impolite. When he answered the phone I said hello how are you today sir and he was silent for a moment and proceeded to say what can I do for ya. At this point I said, Ok moving right along and he gave the ifo I requseted. There’s no harm in being cordial.

the staff stinks! they are not polite and are very, very, very rude!!!

Oiling is inconsistent. One lane is the Sahara and the next one in the same pair is the Exxon Valdez. Lanes 1 thru 6 are horrible. House generally doesn’t reward good shots. So many 10 pins should be renamed, The “Tap” House.
