Northcross Lanes has recently gone non-smoking and is in the process of renovations. The place is being cleaned thoroughly to remove the smokey odor. In addition the menu has been updated. Renovations should be complete by mid-November 2008.We encourage you to check out the “new” Northcross Lanes!

It is discusting. The food is nasty and expensive! The bar staff is clueless. Freaking rednecks working in that place. I used to go there all of the time. Now it is so run down. The Karaoke staff used to be really good, now they even s*ck. The bar used to be the place to go, now it is far from it. On the weekends, you cant even bowl. If you do bowl, the lanes do not work half of the time. They lock their bathrooms so you can not use them on the weekends. To beat it all, they have cops everywhere there so you know it can’t be that safe if cops are there all of the time. I would never let my child go there. It is sad because that is the place that I grew up going to.

This bowling alley is gross! From the moment you approach the front entry you can tell the facility is not well maintained. The entry smells of smoke, there are lots of teens hanging out using the “dance” video games, because of weekend birthday parties the general public CANNOT bowl. Their prices are high, the food is disgusting and the staff is clueless! In my opinion, it would be worth driving a bit farther (Mooresville) for a clean facility, fair prices and great customer service. If you go, take a coupon to make this trip more reasonable and eat before you go and sneak in snacks and drinks for the kids. If you’re not comfortable sneaking in snacks then go out to the car in shifts to “refuel”…

I bowl twice weekly at Northcross. It has been around for about 10 years and is well along the path of looking like a 50 year old bowling alley! It’s in desperate need of an update.
I can’t remember it ever being updated. Go ahead, sit in one of their chairs… feels like sitting on a toilet seat doesn’t it? Could they not spare the dime to re-cushion the chairs after so many years? How about the monitors, some are so dark you can’t read them and sometimes you manually have to fix them to reflect your pins. Take a look up, yeah, up at the ceiling, can you just imagine that thick nasty dust falling into your food while your eating, how about your head? Has anyone EVER cleaned that? It’s on every piece of metal up there. Needs a better ventilation system instead of ceiling fans that cause all of that dust above your head. I swear in someplaces it’s over 4 inches thick! It’s just nasty.Lots of malfunctions on the lanes but not all are bad. Food is ok, higher priced as usual for such a place but then again, that’s everywhere. Some staff are so nice that it out weighs the bad of this place. But sadly, Mooresville is giving them a run for their money – even I drive the extra mileage to practice each week in their beautiful brand new facility. But I would rather see Northcross update themselves with new monitors and seating, and clean the place up a bit than join a league way up in Mooresville when I live in Charlotte. Truth is North Mecklenburg could really use another bowling alley to choose from-it’s like we are all there because we really don’t have a choice. Mooresville is too far and the one on Tryon, well, I’ve already had my wallet stolen there.

Looks fun and in a good location. Call ahead before you make the trip. They do get very busy and waiting times are usually over 1-2 hrs. I would suggest driving to farther locations to eliminate the long waits.

Extremely expensive and not very fun with weekend birthday parties.

Trying to bowl on the weekends is impossible, they book so many birthday parties that there are no lanes for the public to walk in and enjoy. Parties don’t show and 25 lanes were open 2 weeks ago and nobody showed up while we waited from 1:30pm to 3pm before they finally allowed us a lane.

The food at Northcross is terrible for the high prices.

I am in a league at NorthCross Lanes and I think the rules need some adjusting. They do not let you bring in your own beverage or food. Maybe if the food area had a better selection and lower prices we wouldn’t be forced to sneak in drinks and food. Re-adjust your RULES!!! Many leagues will be moving to the new alley in Mooresville which will leave you with more than losing out on a cup of coffee.
