got your back keith. but it feels good to get some respect for a change i mean we bowl 3 games a week and i average btwn 205 and 210 and you a 185 and 190. i’m not scared of the so called “big boys” either on the lanes or outside in the parking lot!

Comment Date: 11/6/2009 Name: Keith Null
Average bowler where did you go to school at? You look like your typing is a little below average. Any way I hope some day people get the guts to put there name. I put my name, and Lisa, William, and even Micheal Cheek, and then the other pro Buddy. But average and Anonymous who have the most post cant spell there name. Some things in life are funny, and some people are always scared. Just know you can always hide here. Oh and as for bowling with the big boys, I have bowled a few tournaments and never see any of the big boys from league play there.

Comment Date: 10/19/2009 Name: Keith Null
Average bowler, why be less then an average man (boy) and come to mine or Buddy’s face and say something? Maybe then you would be more of an average in something. I still to this day do not understand why people are scared and want to hide behind the name of Average. Now if you want to be a man or woman and let us know who is average We can come to your league and let you see the house pros a little more. Since you are in awe and cannot even manage to get your name out. So cannot wait to hear from you again less then average.

I think George Pappas bowling is a Great place to go! All the staff is friendly & ready to help with anything they can. The new Pro Shop manager is much much better than Adam, (that wouldn’t take much), My husband & I are regulars in the mornings, We Love it! We have only had 1 complaint & that was the Pro shop manager, but now he is gone, The Bowling Center is “Perfect” I give it 10 Thumbs up!!!!!!!!

Went here the other night with my family. The young people running the front desk were rude and rolled their eyes when asked for help. I believe that during these economic times, if families want to spend 60 or 70 dollars for a night out, they should at least be treated nicely. Management should highly consider some meetings on ATTITUDE, because these people are representing the business and they are not doing it any favors!

My Grand father started bowling here in 1988 myself have been bowling here for 12 years and yes i have had ball damage like a small scratch but never chunks & Machines malfunction and yes the lanes are real easy to score on as for the staff here there some of the best you’ll every meet everyone from proshop, service desk & restaraunt oh yes even the guys that work the machines So if your looking for aplace to take your family this is the place and i’m sure if you do have a problem ask to speak with someone in management they will make it right

It was another exciting night at the old worn out, never maintained GPLL. Was on a great set of lanes last night. Good old worn out 31 & 32. Everyone was pleased with the chunks out of their balls. Three of us had balls that where less then 3 weeks old, not any more! Had a buddy go up to Victory Lanes and get a new ball, and was laughed @ when they seen it. Maybe some day Gastonia can have a great place to bowl in. One can hope!

I now live in Germany, but I get the chance to come home once a year. I love the lanes. They are much better than ours here in Germany. My son Bradley has a 3oo on Georges lane, and loves bowling in his house with my brother Jamie…Cant wait to get home again so that I can bowl on a pair of super lanes………..

Comment Date: 8/23/2008 Name: BUDDY RICHARDS JR
Hey Keith if you don’t want to sweat …. off it don’t matter if it is 150 degrees outside with 1,000 people in the place just go to Victory lanes in Mooresville you will never sweat and they can afford the AC bill not like Liberty Lanes!

Some of the so-called great staff might need to read this again! Bill can you read? The kids you have behind the counter might not be able to.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide every customer entering our center with the most enjoyable

the game of bowling; whether it be for competition or for fun!

Anonymous, why be anonymous….. Must not be much! I have worked in HVAC, its not hard to keep it cool inside. Its done everywhere else. I mean think about it. do you sweat when you go shopping at Wal-mart, Lowes, or the mall? They do have a few people moving around in them. Besides it seems to be cooler when they have tournaments. But I am sure they only have them when it is cloudy, cool, or overcast? Why not during regular hours and league play? I mean I hope lineage goes for more then the just the use of the lanes. The oil used here tends to break down faster at Liberty then any other house, but I have heard its the humidity. And to my knowledge it has not hit a hundred degrees in quite a while. But you must be smart enough to know that. (I would think anyway) Not only is it hot in this establishment, you have to clean it yourself. I had to clean up food off the floor so you dont stick on the approach. So Anonymous, {deleted}, use your name, and dont be scared, it is the web. Besides this is just one mans opinion, but I am not afraid to say it.

Comment Date: 8/8/2008 Name: Anonymous
Keith you try to keep a tin cool when it a hundred degrees outside and have a place full of people moving around..

this is one of the best bowling alleys ive ever been to was there last weekend for a tournament. The staff was very friendly and helpful the lanes ran great. they had every thing under control and was very knowledgable of what was going on.The snack bar food was great

Comment Date: 8/5/2008 Name: Keith Null
Well it was a change this week. The foul line was on! Alot of lights and buzzers went off during play. People had no clue what it was at first. Well it took a while but they were fixed. If only the air could work some of the time. Im waiting for someone to pass out from the heat, when its cooler outside with 90 degree temp. You will have that @ liberty lanes……

I Have Been a Friend of GPLL for 17 Years i Have Bowled 15 years here and have seen alot of people come & Go, Even the folks from the other centers
are bitchin about TTL & AMF just as they will be
bitching here and anywhere they show their faces.
As for the lanes at least they are cleaned & Conditioned everyday , And yes Machines do go down just like any other center, I have never seen lanes down 4 any length of time here at GPLL
The staff and atmosphere at Liberty is the best around. Maybe it’s like a soap opera here with all the drama So what that’s life get over it.

Comment Date: 7/30/2008 Name: League Bowler
I get sick of the house pros, that when a night when the shot is not the same, have their panties in a wad. These pros go to tournaments, some cash and some does not. Do you really think every week in league should be the same. Hell this comment goes out to every whiney bowler out there. All those bowlers that think they are that good just adjust and do your best. Do not blame the {deleted} house or the management because you did not average 220 that night. If the shot is bad for you, 9 times out of 10 if will be bad for the rest of the house. And if it is not going to be the same, make a adjustment and get over it. Or go home we do not want your kind anyway. Bowling is supposed to be fun and people like you ruin it for everyone else.

Comment Date: 7/21/2008 Name: average league bowler
I’ve been a league bowler here since they opened…and as with ALL places and people there are scandals and rumors! So What! MInd your own business we are no ones judge. I’m not saying it’s ok but worry about your own problems, we all have our own. As for service everyone is always very friendly and helpful.. a very knowledgeable staff.

Comment Date: 7/21/2008 Name: Keith Null
What can be said about Liberty lanes? From the poorly managed lanes that break down after one game,or maybe a lane that you have to check to see if it counts your score right and you dont have to change have time while you check your ball for damage! But No the best thing that can be said about Liberty is you will never foul! They are never on in league play! Can not wait to get out

Comment Date: 7/19/2008 Name: Keith Null
If you have your own equipment don’t bring them here! This is by far the worst place to bowl. Ball damage is going to happen on the first time you use it. from poor maintenance to management and house keeping. Your better of going to a better house. But if you like a second rate place with crappy lanes and no air this is the place!

Comment Date: 6/24/2008 Name: Upset
If you are married, do not bring your wife to the bowling alley because the manager might try to take her away from your family. This just happend where the manager started seeing the customer and broke up a family.

Comment Date: 5/26/2008 Name: Average bowler
I bowled at Liberty Lanes for 2 years as a league bowler and an open bowler. I was never made to feel very welcome there by the staff or management so I stopped bowling there.

Comment Date: 5/6/2008 Name: love bowling
Liberty Lanes is the onyl bowling center in the area that is really concerned with how you bowl. Mention of the other alley’s in town is not at all correct. If you want a cake shot, the alley is in Belmont. Averages tend to be at least 10 -15 pins higher per person than at the other alleys. Pin carry is much better. Liberty Lanes has a nice shot, but u have to chase the lanes to carry the corners. I love the challenge.

Comment Date: 4/5/2008 Name: Bowl for fun
I have been bowling here for years. I am a decent bowler, but I am not in the “in crowd” therefore do not get recognized for some achievements. Having said that, I think the staff is one if not the best around and I recommend anyone to try this center.

It’s odd that with all the positive comments written about Liberty Lanes that after bowling there myself I tend to agree with the comments posted by Anonymous on 2/29/08.
He/she made a pretty much dead-on assessment.
Textile Lanes seems to be the best overall center in that immediate area.

Comment Date: 2/29/2008 Name: Anonymous
This is the house to bowl at if you want a cake shot, that anybody in the world can average deuce on. If you want a challenge, try AMF or Textile. Also, if your looking for customer service, this isn’t the center to find it in. The associates here hardly ever come to the lanes to see how you’re doing. They seem to only care about your money. If your in the Gastonia area, give one of the other two centers a shot. You will be more satisfied.

GPLL is the best bowling center in gastonia.
The workers are friendly, funny, and great people. Ive been bowling there in YABA since I was 10. Everyone there is like family. No other bowling center ive been to is ANYTHING like this one, and no other center can compare to this one.

Comment Date: 1/2/2008 Name: Jessica Floyd
I bowled here until I went into the military. I loved the YABA, best around hands down! The lanes are awesome and the people are so friendly and ready to help with anything. Truely the best!

I have been bowling here for about half a year. All my coaches and Mark in the pro shop have helped me improve my average. This is one of the best bowling alleys I’ve been to. They have a friendly staff. A lot of good bowlers go there to. Prices are pretty good and the food is really good. We are also a lot better than the other alley in Gastonia.

I’ve been bowling here since I was little.
I bowl leagues here and everything. It has good food, good things, good managers, good employees such as my mom and stepdad, me and Dustin are the crack ups in the bowling center.

I think this is the best bowling place in North Carolina and I have a really good time here with my friends and family. I mean their food is good, clean place, nice etiquette, nice lanes, and they even have games for the younger people. Anybody think about going bowling go to George Pappas Liberty Lanes in Gastonia, NC.

Comment Date: 6/28/2005 Name: Megan
This bowling alley is better than the other one in town. Better manager, better food, nice employes, cheaper prices, and a better Saturday night at Billy Bucks than the other bowling alley in town.

Comment Date: 5/30/2005 Name: Joe Bowler
Better than the other one in town but still noting to write home about. Need a staff that cares about the customer.

I’ve been bowling at ths house for almost 9 years. I bowl in the senior division on Saturday mornings, and in my mind it is the best program around, with Perry being the good person he is. Another reason I like it so much is because Perry is a Christian person and we have prayer before we bowl. There is no confusion going on because if you do you will be asked to leave. So just come on down to the house and bowl. You will love it, it is a good experience for your family.

I love bowling here, and my family does too. We have bowled here all of our lives and I would recommend this bowling alley over all others I have been to.
