Very nice appearence wise but the staff s*cks!Rude bartender, and the manager is a bag of jokes. we tried to have a fun time with our kids and it turned into a nightmare, police involvement, they used eccessive force! This is not over……this could have been handle so much better if the staff would have handled themselves in the appropiate manner.

Sunday Dec.19th out with family and friends, along with our children, I experienced the worst encounter never thought possible! Called a Bitch by another customer (male. Why because the Bartender had disrespected another friend an myself, while standing in the doorway of the bowling alley. We addressed the bartender,he brushed us off, so the customer followed suit. returned upstairs to my party of family and friends informing them of what just took place, we asked to speak with manangement at this time, know the situation has taken another direction,we are asking for compensation or some kind of action to correct this matter. Berkley police arrive they do not seem interested in facts, they immediately take exccessive force shoving and asking us to leave, no statements were taken at all, they(police) forced a female friend to the ground one had her in a headlock and the other on her back, another 3officers push her brother over the bar area cuff him and pepper spray him after he is cuffed. We did not get into a brawl, not druken and causing disorderly conduct, just wanted some respect or just some professional customer courtesy. As the police escorted usout we were pushed along my brother lost his balance and fell. It is clear to me this is not a place that i will ever attend, nor recommend, also RACISM seems very obvious. Not Happy, very angry, and disapointed.

My overall experience going to the bowling center was great. Food was exellent, staff was friendly, and bowling was cheap. I dont understand why everyone is so upset……??

I bowl here multiple times i week. this place s*cks. The only reason i bowl here is because i there are no other alleys that are close. The manager cliff is a joke. He got in my face and tried to fight me. Im 15. There lanes are terrible. There never oiled and sometimes when you get gutters it gives you a 1 or 2 anyways. Sometimes the ball gets stuck in the ball return. The other employees are creepy and short tempered. Go to thunderbird in royal oak. Its way better.

I have been to Hartfields to pick up a game or two and also to enjoy a cold one while watching the ballgame in their bar (Hat Trick Pub). The only reason I am writing this is because usually the only people that comment on stuff like this are the people that need something to complain about and that’s just to bad. First of all there isn’t a place on earth that is perfect. Sometimes in customer service some employees don’t handle rude, drunk, obnoxious, selfish or whatever customers in the proper way. I haven’t witnessed mishandled situations but I’m guessing some of these, rude, drunk, obnoxious, and/or selfish people did something wrong and just cannot accept the fact that the staff didn;t tolerate it. Bottom line is that they have a great staff and I truly believe that they strive to make the establishment better every day. I highly recomend that everyone check out the place at least once. Until then it’s all just a bunch of people talking.

My husband and I bowl on a league and are extremely unhappy with the alley. Every week a lane is malfunctioning, the sensors put the wrong score, the ball return is keeping the balls stuck in the shoot and now both my husband and I couldn’t bowl on the night of league because our balls weren’t ready after a week of being in repair because of damage caused by the ball return. We will never bowl there again. Go to Thunderbird Lanes in Troy. They are great!!!

I’ve been going to Hartfield’s occasionally for the majority of my life. I’ve taken dates in there and hung out with friends. I usually have a good time, HOWEVER, the prices are outrageous and, though the staff has the potential to be friendly, they can also be complete jerks. And thus my search begins for a better alley…

The lanes are rarely oiled. It does have a lot of space available for it’s location. Prices are expensive. I was there one Saturday afternoon and bowled a game. My friend and I were the only ones there. I asked management if we could just move over one lane since our lane was dry. The guy behind the desk gave me a dirty look told me “tough luck”. The woman behind the snack bar was friendly though.

Had a good time. Clean and friendly atmosphere. Too bad there are people that need to vent their frustrations in public. I’d bring the kids back.

HArtfield is amazing ! We throw fundraisers here for groups of 100 and they ALWAYS go great! The prices are affordable for everyone during these events and this enables us to throw more than half of our entry fee towards the charities that we contribute too…Leukemia/Lymphoma, Special Olympics, Detroit Rescue Mission, Ghana Schools and more…

I have worked and bowled at Hartfields lanes.
It’s a great place to bowl and have fun.
The Hartfield family is very nice and
kind to thier emplyees, I have seen loans,
advances, and they have bailed employees out of jail! Not to many owners would do that!!!
My friend Colleen work there and got unemployment
Its sounds like P… off emplyees to me.

hartfield lanes screws all of its employees. I was laid off , and they told unemployment I quit. Hopefully hartfields goes out of business.

She should stay in her house, and keep away from Hartfield Lanes. She can’t cook for the parties , and she smells like tuna fish. She touches a person register and then you are short counting your money. She can’t count. Linda {deleted} is a moron

Our league has been bowling at Hartfields for years. The owners, manergers and staff have always
been nice and helpful. If we have any problems
they always take care of us. It sounds like some of these comments are coming from kids that got fired for not doing thier job. (I have seen a few
of them). DUMB THATS A BIG WORD! Written by a kid.

As a former employee of this bowling alley, i would advice everyone to stay away. This place is way to expensive for pretty much any family in the metro area. On a Friday night 2 games of bowling , shoes, would cost a family of four 38-40 dollars. Both managers have no clue what they are doing. Cliff the general manager talks to himself, and the assistant Denny is a racist. The owner Linda has no clue what she is doing, makes everyday terrible for the employees. Linda pretty much will put the company out of business because she is dumb.

are people seriously giving hartfields props? i worked there for like 3 years and i know that place is garbage. and larron is the man. so is wayne.

Comment Date: 12/31/2005 Name: Joe Webb
The reason why Larron told me to pack up my stuff, is because I said the prices were to high. His response to me was pack up your (expletive), and go somewhere else. Larron is very rude and needs to be replaced.

Hartfield is a great intimate bowling center where the people are very friendly from the owner all the way down to the mechanics. It’s a fun place to bowl with your family. One last comment to Joe Webb. If Larron told you to pack up your stuff and leave you must have given him a reason to take that action. Larron is a very outstanding employee and knows what he’s doing. I am sure he had the support of management to do what he did. So I suggest you stop blaming him for what he did and look at what yourself and what you did to drive him to take that action. Keep up the good work Hartfield employees!

This bowling alley is very expensive. You might need to mortgage your home to take a family of four here on a Saturday night. My family went there one night and it cost use about 40 dollars for shoe rental and two games for all four of us.

I have visited a couple bowling alleys in the Oakland area as this is where I grew up but I have found that by far Hartfield Lanes is the best that I have visited. This bowling alley always changes their rates and specials, they have the best atmospheres, two stories of family fun and the staff from the kitchen to the counter are all very pleasant to come into. I have come to Hartfield Lanes with my two children and I have noticed that the staff try to keep the crowds down and if they get out of had then the staff calmly escort them out of the building without a big scene. I would like to recommend Hartfield Lanes to everyone in the area and all around the area if you would like to travel they have a lot of family fun to offer.

Hartfield Lanes has the best employees. Wayne, Jim and Antoine are the absolute best. Wayne takes care of my family at the counter, Jim provide fast service if the lanes ever have a problem, and Antoine cleans our bowling area, if it is ever dirty. I recommend bringing your family to Hartfield Lanes for some family fun.

This might be the worst bowling alley in Michigan. Their prices are extremely high and the staff is very rude. This one man named Larron was the rudest. He told me to pack up my stuff and bowl somewhere else.

This is a good place where children can have fun. They have a tv in the middle of the lanes where they play music that’s up to date and serve food thats very good. I hope you go check out Hartfield Lanes because it’s cheap too.
