Mr. Glenn you are wrong. Yankee Lanes and Dover Bowl are NOT owned by the same company. Yankee Lanes is owned by Bowl New England. Dover Bowl is owned by Anagnost Investments. The two corporations are separate entities and are in no way affiliated with one another. I should know, i am the President of Bowl New England.

Tom A is wrong. When an establishment is full of underage drinkers and a police officer catches them, they lose their liquor license. Do you honestly think that place could stay open without a liquor license? I have been bowling there many times during galactic when it is dark and seen people drinking. I let the desk people know too. I want to be able to drink the next time I go there. Hell Ive seen people have the b*lls to drink in the corner lanes when the normal lights are on. I let the front desk know about them too. Kids want a place away from adults to socialize and drink… and Yankee lanes wanted to prevent that. So get off your high horse and let them do a quick search. I don’t mind taking out my three balls and equipment from mine when they ask. As for the persons attitude at the front desk… I’m calling BS on that one. There is one guy that religiously works Monday nights there. (Well at least he has been there the past 3 months every time I go Monday nights.) And he is more than professional and explanatory in his reasoning for the pricing. If you went bowling during normal hour along it would be $25 for the hour and $3 for shoes. OMG that’s $28 what a rip off…. But wait… you mean if you go at 9pm Monday you can get in THREE PEOPLE for THREE HOURS EACH!?!? Math must not be your strong point. $28 for three hours for even 1 person is still a hell of a greet deal. And look at it from the business side of things. The have like 30 lanes. If they have 1 person on each lane for 3 hours at $7 a pop, I don’t even think they could make payroll for that. They’ve have a 4 person minimum for their Galactic program for years, don’t hear you complaining about that one. And guess what??? Enjoy spending your money at Dover bowl…. Both centers are owned by the same company 🙂

the manager sue got fired!!! Things are looking up there. The assistant manager scott is the nicest person around. I hope he becomes manager there. Sue was there way too long and she killed business

Went to this place last night and was very rudely asked to have my bowling bag searched by some guy at the door. At first I thought he was joking and then showed him my ball/shoes in my bag and laughed. As I approached the front desk a bowler had asked the cashier why the lane wasn’t working (it was 8:50pm) and the cashier rudely responded “We don’t turn on the lanes until 9, the special starts at 9” and as the kid walked off the cashier mocked him by saying “…he knows it doesn’t start till 9”! What?! {Deleted – Godwin’s Law Violation} Who runs this place?! They seriously can’t turn a lane on 10 minutes early? “OMG PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO BOWL 1 FRAME MORE THAN WE WANT TO ALLOW”. {Deleted – Godwin’s Law Violation} This night was a Monday ‘Unlimited bowling from 9-12 for $7’ which they fail to note on some signage that have a 4 people per lane minimum, making this a terrible deal if you’re alone or with 1 or 2 other people. So much for going on a date with your woman unless you want to pay extra for 2 invisible people who aren’t actually playing with you, or be paired up with 2 random people you don’t know. I happened to be there with my girlfriend and brother and the turd at the desk was like “You can either pay for the 4th person or wait at the end of the line” and continued to note that it was some sort of amazing deal. Hell NO it’s not. Dover Bowl in Dover, NH has $1 game nights Monday – Thursday which blows away Yankee Lanes so-called excellent deal. $7 for ‘unlimited bowling’ which is more like LIMITED bowling considering they require you to have 4 people per lane. What if you have no friends available on that night? or just want to bowl alone? You get turned away unless you’re rich and have tons of money to blow. I will never go back if I can help it and I’d encourage anyone else to NOT support Yankee Lanes. Avoid this place at all cost!

Negative stars? Yankee Lanes gets them. Customer service by the management is a joke and it’s a shame when you can tell that absentee owners run the shoddy establishment from afar. Sue the manager? Hope she’s getting paid pennies because the level of customer service she displays should be shown as the antithesis of what a good representative of the company does. I called for her four times in one day. The first three times she was conveniently “out of the building” and the fourth time – oh don’t you know – she’s gone for the day. This was nearly two weeks ago and I still haven’t heard from Sue.
Find somewhere else to spend your money. There are other options than this overpriced place that doesn’t care about anything but making a profit.

I would love to meet & talk with the family who owns Yankee Lanes! Sue is a moron & her staff isn’t much better with the exception of one or two. Apparently they don’t realize that the 40-50 regulars they’ve had for 15 years have had to go & find a NEW place to call home. All of this because they can’t decide what nights to have karaoke on a REGULAR basis. It bounces back & fourth between Friday & Saturday nights. Almost everyone out there like to have something steady on a regular basis. I personally know of 30 people that have had to go & find a new home! Nobody goes to a bowling ally to watch a live band, what makes them think this would work for them. Not to mention, they spend thousands of dollars$$$ on remodeling but aren’t able to fix the front door to the bar that has been LOCKED for about a year & a half now! How good is that for business? A nine year old could run this business better than these morons. Plus when they’re NOT having the bands play they cancel karaoke for UFC fighting on TV. Doesn’t common sense tell you that anybody with a brain is going to stay home & drink to watch these fights & not have to worry about drinking & driving or getting a ride home after a couple of hours of watching this on TV. I have personally talked with ALL of the bartenders & they have ALL told me that on the nights with the live bands they’re getting anywhere from 6-12 people drinking in the bar. Here’s a NO BRAINER! Bring back karaoke & get 40-50 people in the bar.
How long is it going to take for these people to realize this!!!

I used to love Yankee lanes, the staff was great they had this amazing friendly server, then this past Saturday (feb 7th) everything changed. There is this horrible new server who has the worst attitude about her job and she completely ruined my view of Yankee Lanes. After dropping 136.00 to take my staff for a night of bowling, I decided to get a round of shots for the workers. I tried to get the servers attention to come to lanes 7+8 and immediate response was that its going to be a while with a strong attitude. Eventually she made it over to our lane and I began asking her some questions of a good round of shots for my crew, she knew nothing and she eventually became irritated and said that I am now cut off. Thats it I got so angry when heard this that I immediately went to the management and demanded a refund which I received, then I got the hell out of their. I couldn’t believe this bowling ally would give a large bill of revenue over a some ignorant server. Ridiculous as long as that server is working at yankee lanes I am never returning with my large work crew.

My girlfriend and I went to Yankee Lanes on Saturday afternoon and it was an excellent overall experience. The staff was courteous and attentive. It was very clean and reasonably priced. We had to leave to get ready for dinner, but not before it started to get really awesome.. A band, galactic stuff, black lights and smoke machines. And they have a full bar. The shoes are very comfortable. I think you could hang out here for a long time.

O.K. So here’s the deal I worked there from ’05 to the beginning of ’07 and have gone bowling there a lot since i quit. The management is very into their clique which is league bowlers! If your not in a league you won’t get even close to the same help as those who are. The place isn’t dirty they do clean up well and if it is messy at your lane it’s because the people on it before you are effing slobs!!! The food and drinks are a bit pricing but what isnt now a days and the staff is half and half if you go on one day you could want to bomb them for being arrogant a**es and go the next and feel like your the only ones they are focused on so on a 10 star rating they pull out with a 5 sorry yankee lanes but i worked there and i know the ins and outs

The people below posting here are mostly retarded. There is nothing but great times when you go there. It is a place of business, not a playground. Don’t expect to run around like a moron or cause trouble because someone that works there will be warning you, and then removing you if you continue along your retarded path. Every night during the week after 8:30 or 9 there are awesome specials. Mondays you can bowl from 9pm to midnight (three hours) for $7, including free rental shoes. I dare you to find a better deal at any ten pin (not candle pin) center anywhere else.
I notice the only people that complain are people that don’t understand anything of what they’re doing. I can’t count the times I will be waiting in line behind a group or young adults (lets say 4 people) and they ask for 4 games… When the cashier asks if they want 1 game for 4 people or 4 games for 4 people, the customers get all confused and end up paying for 1 game each. They get the wrong thing even if the cashier clearly tries to explain what a game is and how 1 game for 4 people means everyone gets to bowl one game each. To top it off, the lazy bums pay all pay individually on a friggen credit cards, rather than pooling their money to save time. I know, because I get stuck next to these idiots some times. I enjoy watching them finish their first game then go to the front desk complaining their game shut off early or something dumb like our lane broke, or you shut us off early. It happens every time, and I laugh a lot watching the question marks build over their head as the cashier would clearly explain the one game for 4 people method again.
What really amazes me is how people will get furious if their lane jams or the game stops scoring in their last frame because they threw practice balls or forgot to start their game at the beginning. These are the same people that whine that the place stole from them or ripped them off. When those people go to them with attitude, making those crazy clams about being ripped off or shut down early, it baffles me. As if a place of business purposely shut you lane off or cause it to jam, explain the reasoning to that. They want you to come back, they dont want unhappy customers. Politely talk to the cashier and 99 times out of 100 I bet you they will turn the lane back on for free even if it was your mistake and will hurt their revenue.
Well, enough of my wall of text…. The place is great, not expensive, they have a great new game room on par with chuck e cheese and the recent bar remodel is amazing. I go there weekly because I enjoy the environment so much.

yankee lanes is terrible i was outside throwing snowballs with my friends while waiting for a ride, we werent throwing them at cars or anything just eachother and some large grimey lady comes over and says ” my manager is watching you throwing snowballs at those cars, if you do that anymore we are goin to have to call the police. my friend chucked a fastball at her as she was walking inside

I was surprised by how rude the staff was… the girl working the counter was wearing a low cut shirt and when I tried to sneak a peak when she was getting my rental shoes (I take an non-standard size) I think she caught me because she sprayed disinfectant in my eyes. I have not ruled out suing her and the Yankee Lanes management team, who I feel have become complacent since their respective promotions. Also, the gentleman who makes the so call nacho gets ticked if you tell him they smell like the rental shoes.

Mixed feelings about the place. People have said its dirty, this is extremely untrue. the palce itself is clean and if there is a mess if you ASK them to clean it they will. They don’t have people cleaning nonstop you have to ask someone to. MOST of the staff there is friendly. HOWEVER a few of them really need to get laid off. One in particular has screwed my group over several times saying that we didn’t pay the amount that we did. I highly suggest asking for receipts when you go.

I don’t understand all the bad comments here; my wife and I went last night and had a great time. The staff were friendly and professional and the place was spotless. I recommend it and will be going back.

Comment Date: 3/7/2007 Name: Kristina
The management or girl I spoke to on the phone when I was trying to find out prices and reserve a lane was extremely rude when I wanted to change how many people I wanted in one lane. Like it was way out of her way to do it. So I asked her if it was a problem and she said yes and huffed and puffed about it, I couldn’t believe my ears! I was in customer service for 6 years and would of never thought to speak to a customer like that. I never thought at the time to ask to speak to a manager because I was so baffled by the situation but I WILL be calling back and I will never go back there and never recommend it. There prices are outrageous for such a scummy place and rude people.

I quit bowling there last year except for subbing once in a blue moon. The management is horrible, the lanes are junk and like another poster wrote, it’s always filthy there. I now drive from Bath to Interstate in Augusta.

Comment Date: 2/13/2007 Name: Anonymous
The management is horrible! The food is disgusting and the price is outrageous. This place would be so much better if if was cheaper and under new management that actually tried hard and cared about the customers and employees

Comment Date: 1/30/2007 Name: Regular Yankee bowler
Yankee Lanes has really gone down hill over the past couple years. The place is forever dirty, prices for non league bowlers is outrageous, and the food isn’t that great for the price they charge. Management is poor and doesn’t know what it takes to make customers happy. If you’re a regular league bowler like myself you’ll notice that if you were to go up and practice the lanes are never oiled. The only time you’ll get oiled lanes is around league time but you can’t stay on them long b/c they have to let the league bowlers practice. If there is one good thing about the center is the galatic bowling, perhaps the best in the state if not new england, other than that don’t go here.

It’s a fun place to bowl but the price is way too high and the management has some issues

Comment Date: 11/20/2006 Name: fun with friends
My husband and I go to this bowling alley every couple months with a large group of friends. WE ALWAYS HAVE FUN! It is pricey, but no more expensive than dinner and drinks and much more entertaining! The place is always clean. Call ahead to check when leagues are playing, otherwise you won’t get a lane.

Most unprofessional house I’ve ever bowled in. Management is only concerned with their cliques. They are all stagnant in their positions.
