I just submitted a correction to this bowling alley’s description. Namely, not only do they have a pro-shop (the description said they didn’t), it’s arguably the best pro shop in southern Louisiana if not the entire gulf south. Extremely knowledgeable staff and great selection of balls and accessories. Folks come from over 100 miles away for the selection and expertise this pro-shop offers. Slightly pricey but you’re getting great expertise for your money. As for the alley itself: excellently maintained real wood lanes. Snack bar is only so-so, but if what you’re looking for is serious bowling, you won’t be disappointed in this facility.

Tangi has a top notch pro shop, the best on the northshore in my opinion. This is a nice place, and I enjoy bowling there from time to time.

I like Tangi Lanes. I have bowled there many times, and here are the pros: 1. All wood lanes; good prices; old school bowling alley with a vintage vibe to it. Never had any trouble with the staff, and if you like retro vibe lanes give it a try.

Tangi Lanes is the place to be if you are a bowler in the area or just looking for some fun. The cheap prices make things look great and hard to beat the $1.50 games to the SLU students on wednesday nights. Lanes are a little older than most but very well kept up so they are in great shape and machines run smoothly b/c they have the best mechanic in Louisiana. Plus they got the coldest beer in town!

I have just moved to Hammond and I was wondering if Tangi has any leagues that I might join. I am a beginner. I bowed when I was in my teen, but that has been many moons ago.
Thank you.

a couple of my friends and i started bowling at tangi last season b/c tiffany closed up for a few months due to katrina and we didn’t want to take off. right now they are bowling exclusively at tiffany, while i am bowling one night in both. i can honestly say that the people, the consistent shot, the music and all brings a smile to my face everytime i walk in.
i joined the new orleans tcba b/c of that place and have had a wonderful time on that team as well. the best part is that you feel like you always have a chance to sting a lot of strikes unless the back row stands up.
all i can say is thank you to the people of tangi, the 43 mile drive each way is worth it every thursday night.

This is a throw-back to the “Good old days”, music, fun attitude and good food & drink in a comfortable laid back setting.

Things have improved since I’ve started bowling at Tangi. BUT The place needs to be cleaned consistantly! Employees needs to attend to the tables in the pit area before league starts. The spills on the tables and floor in the pit area is really second class at best, paying special attention to the open bowl lanes 20- on up.
One other comment is to have some one pick-up trash and such in the parking lot mostly in the line of site to the front doors and near the front doors. Makes the place look low rent.
Please take these as positive comments as that is the intent.
Thank You
