So your all going to tell me that you would rather go to MUNSEE lanes? At least this place has decent lanes and a clean freakin bathroo. the employees here are top notch. All of you haters prob. bowl here anyway, so why dont you all shut your mouths

In the future, report anything like that to ANY employee instead of mentioning nothing. They have always provided a family friendly atmosphere. (my family has bowled there since the 70’s) Instead of shedding a dark light on a nice center by your findings, simply report it to any employee so your issue could be remedied. Prescription drugs are taken by millions of people and could actually been accidentally dropped by a person whom actually would be leagal to take the prescription. You could find the same on the Mcdonalds playground.

Thanks for participating in Kids Bowl Free. Muncie is very lucky. We went for the first time last week and we all had a good time. Nice guy at desk. Thank you!

I took the kids for the first time to Clancy’s Bowl last week. I was impressed with the one-on-one customer attention, however, very upset with the cleanlinest of the center itself. There was a leak which I had to mention to the desk staff leaking on the seats, our shoes, and stuff on the lane we were assigned to (we were 1 of 3 lanes taken). On the stair which takes you to the lane itself was a Vicodin (narc. drug) laying on the floor which was dangerous especially for our little one. There was a large coffee or soda circle on the table which wouldn’t come off until we got water the second time with the paper towels from the bathroom.

3 Birthday packages to choose from. All packages good for 10 people bowling for an hour, shoe rental included, helium balloons, plates, cups, napkins, free game pass for every attendee, 8×10 digital photo, 2-16 in pizzas, 2 pitchers of soda, authentic bowling pin for the kids to sign and take home……..all for less than $10.00 per kid. I apologize and am Sorry for not exceeding your expectations.

Not a good place to have a birthday party unless you want pissed off teenagers that work at this dump, to be {deleted} about having to get balls out of the guttters and it was ( Way ) over priced for what we got.

First off , No one in Muncie can say this center is better than the other , Because if you bowl in that center there is a reason you like it and that all that needs to be said,
I the last few years have had some words with Josh about some things that dont need to be aired online . Josh knows if i have a problem with him im going to talk to him about it we dont always see eye to eye but i still have respect for him…..
But if your a bowler in this city and you dont think Josh in one of the best bowlers your not give him his just dues or the game,
I looked up some numbers in 1999 in Daytona Bowl Josh shot 300-300-247 for 847 and then in 2005 at VB he shoots 300-279-289 for a share of the city record at the time 868 with RV. this was broke by Dewayne Burton’s 300-300-269 869..Then in the last month or so Josh has shot 300-298-279 for 877 and new city record, then in a short amount of time he shot 878 I think his scores was 300-300-278 this score was not online for me to look up…When you get time go to bowl .com and Look up he’s highest averages over the last few years 239-239-233-235-233-229-236-236-226….And for Mr Really I have found over my 38 years of bowling the dryer the lanes are the more the ball hooks and this helps 99% of the bowlers out Because of the carry they get then the way balls that are made today and the way they read the lane. they are made to hook, The scores have went up for this reason. To keep bowlers bowling everyone wants to score big…
But I could see Josh moving to any center in any state and Averaging 230+……
And as far as the employees come on the guys behind the counter that i know are nice Ethan, Austin, Hunter, all good kids….
You dont have to like the Center , employees or Josh……… But you should have respect the game

I have know the manager at the VB for over 20 years, worked alongside him for at least 5 or 6 years, and I can tell you this, he would be scoring big even if he wasn’t the manager. As for the shot conditions, I have open bowled a couple of times this season, and I have bowled probably 10 or 12 games in the last 10 years, and shot near 200 every time. Just remember, buying the newest, expensive ball doesn’t help your game any.

To be frank with everyone, my average is 20 pins higher at Clancy’s than the other center I bowl at in Muncie. I also know who Mr Batman is talking about when he mentions duhjuice. he is a good guy and has helped me and my kids out a bunch when it comes to bowling. He is courteous and very informative when it comes to bowling.

Thanks for posting my comments in rebuttal towards Mr. REALLY??? I undoubtedly know who he is anyways, but doubt very serious that he will ever admit to really being Mr. Reall???
Thanks Batman and DW!

Hey Mr. Really… maybe you should ask Mr. 878 for some lessons! Don’t hate, CONGRATULATE!

Comment Date: 11/25/2009 Name: Mr 878
It’s really sad to read the comments of disgruntled customers/past employees who refuse to give their name. If one has a legitimate concern, I think you should at least be willing to give your name. If in fact it is legitimate, what would you be the issue?

Comment Date: 11/24/2009 Name: Batmanusmc
Replying to REALLY?? I will admit that all 3 bowling centers wooden lanes are in serious trouble. But with the economy and the loss of thousands of jobs and sanction bowlers no house can afford new lanes. I was complaining wanting oil but I finally realized I bowl twice a wk and no practice at all. So I really cant blame no one about my bad bowling except for me. DUJUICE is not the only person bowling 300’s and 800’s there at Clancy’s. But I am old school brought up on spares on 40 ft of oil gutter to gutter but if the centers put up a tough shot then alot more people would quit. Plus just be straight up with DUJUICE and voice your complaints to him he is a good man and he wants everyone to bowl good. Anyway this is a good place to air out so air out regroup and come back next week and maybe this will be your week. Hang in their Happy Thanksgiving to all. Batman

Replying to the ill-informed, no nothing chump whom is calling himself really. To Mr. Really, who can not even mention his name: I very rarely let idiots like you bother me or even rouse up a comment out of me. However, people usually have the common sense to look through comments and or suggestions/complaints when the authour hasnt enough balls (on the lanes of course!) to mention his own name. If you would like to get to know me a little better or sit down and chat bowling give me a call. After all I have given you my name.

Comment Date: 11/21/2009 Name: Mr. 878 ( not 879)
It is a real shame to read so much negative comments about the bowling centers here in Muncie. Its even worse when some whiny, {deleted}, know it all (whom actually is clueless)runs his mouth taking cheap shots and not enough balls to mention his name. Get a life and call me if you would like to sit down and chit chat about Bowling. I have forgotten more about this sport than you will ever know. One more point to mention……..I havent touched the lane machine in over 4 years, yet we still produce scores. Have a great day.

Let’s cut to the chase here, all three bowling centers in Muncie are just plain aweful and in their own special way. Granted The Village Bowl is the classiest of the three but these lanes are in need of some serious attention as well as the approaches. And to the manager, actually do some work to earn a pay check and not just show up for your league so that you can be seen, And why not spend a little more money and actually put a playable shot down rather than a shot suited to your game (Mr 879 ha what a joke). Seriously when a plastic ball hooks a lot in a scratch league, can’t imagine how dry the shot is for open play. It’s not a matter of “learning how to bowl” it’s a matter of putting an oil pattern down on the lanes that is suited to the bowling balls of today, not 1990. And yes the staff is friendly, as long as they know who you are. REMODELED??? WHEN??? not four years ago, heck, not even 10 years ago, maybe 15 years ago. Oh, maybe the remodeling thing came when the roof fell in (I guess that classifies as a “remodel”). As for being in a safe part of town, yes it is. As for having decent food, that is questionable. As for being the classiest, it really is the cleanest, and you do pay for all that clean LOL.

It is really pittiful to hear all of these whiny people complain about bowling in Muncie. All three centers in this area try their best with the tools at hand. I bowl more at Clancy’s than the other two centers, but know all three manager/owners and all three are hardworking respectable people who care about their business. For the dry comments about any lane condition………..learn to bowl, not just see how much you can hook the ball. If your that good, join a scratch league. All three centers have them.

Sherry give Muncie Lanes a try, the customer service is better and the building is cleaner.
they also have better rates to bowl, there glow bowling on the weekend is only 5.00..Nancy

We recently moved to the area and immediately started looking for a new place to bowl. We found an ad with a great per game coupon and it said the center was “Recently Remodeled”. We were very excited and certainly expecting a state-of-the-art center. Imagine our bitter disappointment when we discovered how shoddy this place really is. The lanes are very dry, pins were being knocked down by the pinsetters, scoring was inaccurate, and we had to use the reset button 4 times during 1 game. Absolutely ridiculous!! One game was all we could bear to roll. We asked about the obvious “Recently Remodeled” false advertising and the kid behind the counter laughed and said that the ad was at least 4 years old. I think it has to be way older because there is NO WAY this place was updated that recently. Too bad and we will just drive to Indy to bowl cause I’m told this is the “best” center in Muncie. Scary….

Wow this center needs to hire some older help to work dehind the counter.
And they need to get a Manager thats is at the center working the only nights he works he is bowling and he needs to show some leadership .
The only person that works at VB is Nick!!
And the cost of bowling in a league here is nuts. they stood up in our meeting last week and said lineage was going up .30 a game. Wow and we had to raised the cost 1.00 so we had a prize fund. im sure i will find a new place to bowl.

I have Bowled in leagues at Village for over 30 years and have saw the proshop move all over the building. Mark was always fair to me and most of the people I know. I was in the proshop this passed week and it looks like the prices have really went up big time.

Comment Date: 10/20/2007 Name: daboss
As of Ocober 17, 2007 the pro shop at Clancy’s has changed hands. Hit your mark pro shop is out of this center. Apologies go out to all that had bad experiences. Clancy’s will have one of the finest pro shops in indiana within 10 days……..

Comment Date: 10/5/2007 Name: Customer
I actually like the bowling facility. However the proshop leave something to be desired. I have spent money there and have not received what I expected. I will never spend money in this proshop again. It would be a good idea for the owner or the bowling alley to seriously think about making some changes before it affect the entire centers business. I have hear other people complain about the proshop and I mean a lot or people.

Bowled here April 28 in the International Moose Bowling Tournament. The shot was horrible, plastic ball was hooking, no AC, NO COLD BEER, ran out of Miller Lite & Genuine Draft. Lane 18 If you hit the 10 board the ball would launch in the air due to a defective board. All in all a bad experience here.

I think Clancy’s is one of the finest bowling centers in east central Indiana.(Maybe the entire state) Their staff and management are knowledgeable and attentive and the prices are not through the roof. It is in a good part of town and the parking lot is well lit!!! gobowlatclancy’s!!!!!!!!!!!!
