Oh my god quit your complaining about the conditions. All of you in the ISYL always complain “its too hard”, well if its too hard then quit. I love this place so much that I hope that the tournament comes to this center again. Do not listen to anonymous because they probably dont know {deleted} about bowling. |

At one time in the past, this Brunswick Zone knew how to put out a sport shot. Atlanta HQ did massive layoffs in late 2008. This house has obviously lost ALL of its personnel that know what to do to correctly layout lanes. A supposed sport shot tournament took place yesterday here. Well, the tournament was a scorefest. Many scores were above 250: Unusually high number of 290’s + to 300 were scored. Cut to match play required a 220 + average. Usually a sport shot cut is between 190 to 205 average. Several (disproportionately) 290 plus scores (including a 300) were done on lanes 29 and 30. Several experienced bowlers suspected that a house shot was laid out on that pair for a Sunday morning Senior Men’s League; BZ staff anticipating that is who would be using those lanes. Our tournament needed those lanes since we had so many walk-ons and the Senior Men’s League had a bunch of no shows. Well, we more experienced sport bowlers suspect that the BZ staff never changed the oil pattern to sport shot on 29-30. We also suspect BZ laid out the sport pattern on top of the previous days house shot on lanes 1 thru 28. High scores do NOT necessarily mean that good bowling has taken place; it can mean really easy lane conditions. I for one hope that our tour NEVER comes back here (and my scores were not bad). The integrity/credibility of our tour has been compromised by lousy lane conditions on 09/19/2010 at another house and this one here on 10/17/2010. Warning: Sport Bowling Tour Directors, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. |
