Its good to know that candid comments for Meridian Lanes are being censured. I have made a few comments lately that were never published do to my honesty about this bowling alley.

I am glad to hear Scott is doing better. That other guy in there is a know it all.

The pro shop is amazing now! New owners and good business hours, plus a friendly helpful staff. We love it and will be back again for future purchases.

It’s good to know that this site has become the forum for discussion of pro shops in the Treasure Valley. First of all, as the owner, not employee of Pro Am Sports I understand that I can be “gruff” at times and if that offends people I am truly sorry. But isn’t it good to know that my shop is open and ready to serve the bowling public six days a week? That the times posted are when I’m here. I take the time to make sure the ball is drilled the way you want, not the way the driller feels you should have it. I don’t try to change your way of bowling to accomodate the newer more aggressive bowling balls. If there is anything that I as a pro shop owner can do for you just ask.

Bowled Meridian Lanes for years and always bought from Pro Shop. Recently decided to upgrade ball . . . tried Meridian Pro Shop four times . . . no one ever there (even during posted business hours). You will find the same thing at 20th Century. Westy’s is the best pro shop as far as consistency but the owner (employee??) is becoming pretty gruff.

Hey Meridian, what the heck is going on with your pro shop? This other guy isn’t any better.

Whatever happened to the man that ran your pro shop? I miss him and whenever I drop by there is never anyone there. I wish you would correct this, I am tired of driving to Boise for help!

We,my husband and 4 adult children, one granddaughter and myself bowled at Meridian lanes today. I was a little leary to go after reading the reviews on this site, because of the smoke comments. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and smokefree environment. I am very sensitive to the smoke and did not notice any smell at all! We were there 2 hours and had a great time. I would absolutely recommend this house for family fun! I am not sure if some equipment such as filtering systems has been updated since the other comments were made or what, but our experience was great and smoke free!

It IS nice not to have to breathe the toxic smoke when we bowl. While confining smoking to their bar has made it a little better, Meridian lanes still stinks of nasty smoke.
It is a shame that some centers in the treasure valley have figured that it’s worth it to ignore Idaho law; figuring that they can pay the fine and continue to break the law because the police pick and choose what laws to enforce. (Last Century Lanes and Nampa Bowl continue to allow smoking in their bars too.) I agree with William and my friends and I will enjoy the clean air and great atmosphere at Westy’s and Emerald.
Kind of makes you wonder what other laws these centers are breaking in the quest for the almighty buck…

I thought smoking was against the law in bowling centers! They still have their bar with smoking and they think the double doors keeps the smoke out of the center, right. I thought the law stated that NO door with smoking taking place on the other side could be attached to the bowling center. Thank goodness for Emerald and Westys, they are smoke free, the way the law reads.

Smoke is no longer a problem…
Great center–lanes/equipment are well-maintained, they have a quality, consistent shot, friendly employees, and the food is very good. Reasonable prices in The Cafe and for bowling, and the pro shop guy is very nice and knowledgeable.

The smoke smell is horrible! You smell like an ash tray when you leave. I don’t want to take my family back. Everything else was great.

Dang smokey!! You go home smelling like you were in a phone booth with a half dozen chain smokers. Good lanes and nice employees… but we like to breathe!
