Plans are to continue my league bowling at your Pio Nono bowling center. I was previously a dedicated bowler at Robins AFB but when their policy changed to allow open bowling right next to league bowling at any time open bowlers arrived, and my direct experience with the issue, began seeking other establishments. Your representative at my time of calling testified that I would not experience that at your Pio Nono location therefore changing my dedication to your bowling lanes. I’ll be a full member this coming winter season and plan on being there for a long time to come. I also plan on doing most, if not all, of my practice sessions only at your Gold Cup lanes. Hope this provides the incentive for you to continue that policy.

I recently went to Gold Cup Bowling Center. Although I’m a grown man with large-ish hands, I prefer to use a small and oily ball. These kept gettin stuck in the ball return. And don’t even get me started with the free pizas. As I said before I’m a grown man (on the large side) and as I watched soldier after soldier eating fre

I was very disappointed with the visit to this bowling alley, I took my whole family for my daughters first bowling experience,The shoes did not slide, they switched the lights off during our game for cosmic bowl without notice, while some might find this cool or amusing, its hard to teach someone to bowl in the dark. We come to bowl not play laser tag, very disapointed.

I recently visited gold cup bowling center and was impressed with the updated lane bumpers and gutters. While I was there, workers were redoing the lanes and although it was a little inconvenient for the center to have lanes unavailable, the overall upgrade will be well worth the inconvenience. There were two male workers there who seemed to be especially knowledgeable of the installation and when I spoke to them, they were curtious and nice. The manager should be commended on such a great bowling center.

We went to Gold Cup Bowling Center on Russell Parkway for my son’s birthday party and had a wonderful time. Fantastic service and food. Lane attendant “Daniel” very graciously catered to all of our needs as a party and as individuals. I highly recommend if you are even considering a party or even a night out bowling with friends or family to go for it! You will not be disappointed. We are also planning to participate in a league this fall. Hope to see you there!

Can you believe the third comment down?? Gold Cup was trying to thank the USA soldiers with free pizza and you won’t even go back there. You all complain about not being thanked and a center didn’t have to do that and now you are disgusted. That’s very hypocritical. I know the owners and all they have are big hearts. Maybe the employee could have stood up and said “We are thanking our soldiers with free pizza – I am sorry, but this is our way of honoring them” instead of pushing it on you all, but come on, quit being selfish and appreciate what they did for you.

who ever build the new bowling center in Warner Robins off of Russell pkwy. Need to do the same to Gold Cup in Macon, Ga. It is old, nasty and out dated. Close it down and start over. PLEASE

The comment from the guy claiming to be getting free pizza with the reserve group is false. Why would they just give out free food. They would be loosing money. Doesn’t make any sense because they order from Papa John’s.

We were in this Gold Cup place last weekend — my buddies and me from our Reserve unit — and the bowling “alley” there in Macon kept bringing us pizzas — at no charge. They said, “Thanks for keeping America free.” Well, we chowed down. As we were leaving, another person in the alley, a bowler, came over and wanted to know where he could get free pizza. We told him we couldn’t help him. Well, then he complained to someone at the place and after he did, he told us that some worker had said that if he wanted pizza he should come and get some of ours. We were taking several boxes with us — leftovers. Anyway, it was quite a scene. Children were crying and some kids at a nearby birthday party started chanting, “USA! USA!” We ended up giving the complaining guy a slice of pepperoni. Still, we will never go back to Gold Cup. Patriotic or not, we don’t need your free pizza and all the trouble it caused.

Bowling balls that are too light always get stuck especially if they are too oily. Janet is an excellent employee. I’ve been bowling at Gold Cup Macon for years and have many friends there and I love it. I think it is unfair to target a business just because you have one bad experience especially if you’ve been bowling there for years!

The alley runs behind the center. There are no Bowling Alleys only bowling centers.

Tom Shimek has worked in Bowling Centers all over the world even while he was a career military man. He was the Executive Director of the Ladies Pro Bowlers Tour for several years also. Tom has many, many friends in the Macon center who will vouch for his good work there. Johnny Fraley is now the manager of Gold Cup Macon. Tom is doing an excellent job in Warner Robins. He has been in Bowling Management for 40 years and is known by most of the Bowling Industry.

I went to the Gold Cup bowling alley in Macon yesterday, Tuesday December 27th and I had the worst time bowling in my life, first the center did not have any ball that would fit my hands and I don’t have huge hands, next our balls that were too small kept getting stuck after every bowl and we kept having to call for help, we went through this for a whole game, finally at the end of the game we were relocated to the next lane over which also screwed up on the very 1st bowl so we moved again this time the lane worked sort of the only problem with it is that it would not reset, so I just wanted to tell you about my experience in hope of having better ones for myself, and others in the future.

Tom Shimek, manager of Gold Cup, needs to take care of his business, whether he’s in town or out of town. His employee, Janet, was very bad for his business today when she accused my dad of not paying for games from a previous weekend. Janet apparently didn’t do her job properly by turning off the lanes once our prepaid game was finished and someone came in behind us & bowled without paying. That’s a “personal” problem of Janet’s, definitely not one to bring up to a customer, much less, “wrongly accuse” the customer. Not only has she set a bad example for the other employees that were behind the desk, she & Tom have lost our business along with any other families we can influence. My family & I have been bowling at Gold Cup for years and even joined the “Fun League” last year. I will “not” be back and I will pass on my experience to as many people as I can. Tom needs to take his Macon bowling center business seriously, or it will diminish. Maybe he could move Janet to the new Warner Robins center & let her run that one in the ground before it even gets started. A customer service employee with an attitude is dangerous to business. Any smart person knows that.

Most bowling centers across the United States offer discount bowling for league bowling with the price of about $2.00 per game. Being the only bowling center in Macon, it wouldn’t hurt the owners’ revenue.
