I bowled in the PBC Match Play Tournament this past weekend. Congratulations to Sam and the friendly staff at Verdes for another successful event. This tournament is one of, if not the best run tournaments anywhere. A great turn out as always with about 80 to 120 entries each year. Verdes is a first class center. Thanks again Sam and JB Inns and Suites.

The team at Verdes Tropicana did a great job working with me to host our company holiday party. Everyone had a wonderful time and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend this venue for a fun filled company event.

i would like to comment that verdes does not look out for there league bowlers they leave lanes open for open play and not league players who wont to bowl but turned away wowowo whey to throw money away and wait for someone 2 walk through door way to go thats the way they roll will continue to lose business if they dont change soon show league bowlers that they are appreciated.cmon cmon cmon its not suppose to be loyalty thats what makes or brakes

We moved to W.P.B. about 20 years ago and I started bowling at Verdes Tropicana right away. I joined the Tues. afternoon Inter-Condo League and have been bowling in that league ever since. Our Community, Golden Lakes, stated a Wed. afternoon bowling league there about the same time. I have been enjoying the lanes at Verdes, although my scores don’t reflect improvement. Best of all are the people that run and work at Verdes Tropicana. Never in the years that my wife had bowled there and I still bowl there, have I met any of the employees that were not nice, home-town human beings. Miss seeing Susie and other that are no longer there from the past, but they established a working staff and a business to be recognized for having real “home town” qualities, not only for the regular school and senior leagues, but for everyone that wants to enjoy the fun of bowling, from the beginner to the most experienced bowler.

I spent from 1959-1993 at Verdes and I have never had such a nice time in a bowling alley again. You are treated by everyone there that you are special to everyone there. The house is emaculant, you have every thing you wanted, all the way down to a nursery to bring your children to. They are safe while you bowl. The quest area is free from drink and food. The concoarse is wide and comfortable to non-bowling guest. The bar is cozy, the food is wonderful. The one thing about West Palm I truly miss. LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL

From reading these posts I see there have been some changes since I have been there last. Congrats to John and sorry about your wife. Glad to see Sam stayed in the area and is doing well. I startesd bowling at Verdes when I was a youth bowler and am still going strong at 45. I have bowled all across the country and every bowling experience I have is compared to Verdes. I miss the lanes there awfully bad and think of the place and the people that helped me along the way and wish I could be there now. Remember just because you don’t see a person every week doesn’t mean that you have no influence on their lives. Treat every one with respect and you wil be treated with respect. Hope my friends are still blowing the rack. Hello to Joe and Edie, Dave, Debbie and Joel.

John, if i s*ck at bowling then tell me why i have a 158 average!!!! The other bowling alleys do s*ck because the lanes and approaches are so screwed up!!

Hey Leann! Quit commenting on other centers when if your “daddy” works at Verdes of course you are going to say the other centers s*ck! Grow up little girl. I saw your comments on both Superplay and Palm Beach Strike Zone and it sounds like you just s*ck at bowling!

I bowl in a league at Verdes and my kids love what they did in the game room. I personally don’t care for the colors so I also like the fact that they put tint on the windows so I don’t have to look at that bright green room while I bowl. It’s nice to see them trying to make all the customers happy……. even though it’s impossible

Now i have officially seen Verdes try to change with the crowds they are attracting. Gameroom looks like a Moonlight setup, or maybe a Miami Beach Area Bowling Center. WIndows are way to dark, just asking for trouble, and snackbar looks ridiculous with Window tint, (that is made to keep sunlight out), on the backdrop of the snackbar. I didn’t realize the Sun was in the gameroom now…Took a genius to put Window Tint up on the “INSIDE” of a building that already had the outside windows tinted…. Was always kinda partial to Verdes as it was the only “Real” bowling center left that cared about the sport and the Bowlers. Looks like the Center is falling to changes in Clientel now and doesn’t look “FAMILY” oriented anylonger…It was only a matter of time.

Posted a Negative comment, but i guess the Bowling2U staff is friends with Verdes. Thought this site was unbias and post both good and bad experiences?? **NOTE** Comments are reviewed by a real person. We here at Bowling2U don’t work 24/7, we take the weekends off. And nobody here has ever even been to Florida, we’re on the West Coast. Your negative comment has been posted. Patience is a virtue.**

DId a background search on **WindowTinting, would you believe he doesn’t have a license in Palm Beach County or State of Florida Office of business and professional regulation? WHY on Earth would you let someone Tint your windows who isn’t even licensed? Not to mention when you call other window tinters in town, i have been told he has had over 9 different names since 1989. This is the kind of Tinter I want tinting my business. Next week he won’t even be in business, he will have changed his name again to something else.

WHY in the world change a good thing????Verdes was the most down-to-earth looking bowling center in South Florida. NOW they have Really dark windows in the Bar and Gameroom and Snackbar areas, kinda looks ghetto now…Not to mention the fact the lady in the snackbar was complaining to other people she doesn’t like it because she can’t see in the gameroom now to watch the kids playing..I guess the Window guy forgot to tell them the facts that you can’t see at night through the window Paper or maybe he was just out to make a quick buck, as most Window Tint Guys do….Then the Colors in the Gameroom,I mean come-on now, Green and Black game room colors???? Where are we, at verdes or North Miami Beach somewhere. Then the Window Coverings. I could see covering the Side Doors with Paper to keep the sun out, but the front of the building only has paper on the game room windows and bar entrance door. What About The FRONT Doors???? And don’t tell me security reasons, because at least they could have put See through Window Paper on them to protect the windows from more break-ins….
Verdes looks like it is going from The family oriented center to the Next ghetto hangout…
I say uncover the Snackbar windows as there was NO NEED to cover the windows in the first place if the Gameroom Outside windows have a cover on them. Just wasting money and lining some window guys pockets if you ask me.
Some things are better left alone…..

I always liked bowling here. I like it even more considering the fact I bowled my first 300 game there last night. Great lanes, that I think are kind of fast… Overall, nice atmosphere, food, staff..See Sam in pro shop for great advice, or Murle at the front counter to add some good humor to your day. ****

I like bowling at Verdes. The staff is always helpful. I have bowled in many houses and Verdesis the best. Is does help that my son works at Verdes. But even if he did not I would still bowl at Verdes. I bowl in two leages a week here.

I bowl at Tropicana Verdes every Wednesday with my friends! The guy at the front desk, Merle, is so nice and laid back. Its never too crowded but we see new people every week. Awesome place to chill.

Me and my wife loving bowling here so much that we’ve joined a bowling league. It may be an old building but the lanes are very clean and well-maintained. The staff is wonderful and always gives good service. Verdes Tropicana is still the best place to go bowling!

The most important thing is lane conditions and Verdes Tropicana takes great care of their lanes. Their infrastructure is old, but still in good condition. Its a blast to the past in this joint; I havent seen a bowling alley looking like this since I was growing up in the 80’s! There is definitely nothing fancy or modern at this facility but what they lack in technology they make it up with knowledge, affordability, convenience, and great lane conditions.
The in-house Pros are really Pros. They will walk you through the buying and fitting process in an educational way without the arrogance of a high school jock (like at Boca Bowl). Also, the pricing is reasonable and fair.

i have visited verdes a few times and have even brought several members of my family as an outing and it is really nice. everyone is friendly. i don’t know the guys name that hands out the shoes but he remembers a face after the second time and makes you smile each time you come. i am a mother on a budget but am able to have a nice family outing at a reasonable price. jupiter is nice but their prices are too high and the only reasonalbe special they have that fits my budget is durring the week durring the regular business hours while i am working, which does not make sense. if you are going to run a special it should be after normal business hours.

Comment Date: 4/29/2006 Name: Pete
Verdes has the most friendly atmosphere and all of the employees know a thing or two about the sport. Stop in and pick the brain of Sam Costa some time

Comment Date: 7/31/2005 Name: Danny
Verdes is the best bowling alley in the West Palm Beach area – hands down. It beats Jupiter in the categories of price, fun, value, and lane condition by a mile. Jupiter looks cool on the inside, but the ridiculously high prices are not worth it.
