Owner is a jerk. He spilled drink on my friends coat and dropped a full glass of beer into her purse. No apology. No discount . Bad service |

I really enjoy bowling here, plus I think Fred (the owner) is really cute. Maybe I will ask him for some lessons. Hey, I’m just a guy that likes to have a good time, on the lanes or off. |

a very clean and well kept bowling center. the machines run well. the older fred the owner is friendly, approachable and very easy to work with. he and big marcel are the only people i will deal with there. |

Fred j is great knows his stuff real good.Always on the go but you would know that if you were there everyday. Hey you can talk bad about the house but they still in around 50 years now but i guess they don’t like people.Frist you have to learn how to bowl befor you can talk bad about a house.Fred J can drill anything anyway but people do not like change when he trys to help you so who are you to say bad things my ball hurts maybe he change your picth but you know better them him i guess all and all good house fun all day, night long.Nice people keep up the good work rip,Fred J and family. |

Pro Shop Is Horrible and Yes the dam guy is only open before league nights and he never is open during any of the leagues hes maybe there till 7pm at the latest which is not fare to us league bowlers who may need something or some advice which is the greatest from him its really horrible and when hes not in the pro shop he is either working during the day when we all are or he sits in the dam bar all day and BS with god know whos and also just plain in general THE WORST PROSHOP IN THE GCCBA |
|
Comment Date: 2/25/2008 Name: Joe |
Its a nice center, I think it is the only one in the state that is open 24 hours. But the pro shop there is HORRIBLE. I had a ball drilled there and it seemed like the guy rushed to get me out the door. My hand hurt after I threw it a few games and went back to tell the guy, but he is never in the shop. I finally got a hold of him and he told me it takes a while to get used to. I ended up taking my ball to Litchco’s Precision at Bradley Bowl and they remeasured my hand and took their time drilling the ball. I would highly recommend Litchco’s to anyone. |

i met fred c,about 5 yrs ago.he’s one of few owners, that knows the game of bowling.for the age of bowl o rama,it looks nice.at least they’re spending money to have good equipment.what i was taught, you have to spend money to make money.i chip on their shoulder,i doubt it.with todays times, you either ship up or ship out.the bowling center to be around this long, proves it cares about the customers.i like fred c,me and him are on the same page.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK FRED.ALL THAT HARD WORK’S PAYING OFF. |

Yea, I bowl there also. The place is nice and the shot is consistant, but he owners as stated, love their money. Guess there is nothing wrong with that, but its just their attitude that drives me crazy. They really do not care about us bowlers, just the ching ching from the cash register. |

To Anonymous…I personnally know the family that owns the bowling alley. Rip and his family far from have a chip on there shoulder. Nice to write a comment about someone and not sign your name. Great place to go. Great service…Always a good time! |

yes, the center is nice, but the owners are not. I give them credit for investing back into the center, but wish they could update their personalities. Bottom line, nice place to bowl when the owners are not there. |

Recently had a party there. An extremely nice bowling alley. Great curtious staff clean bright. By far best bowling alley in Connecticut absolutely nothing bad to say about it. Excellent facility |

“This bowling alley is nowhere as good as others like Bradley bowl. Bowlorama is too into making money. The prices may be cheaper then Bradley Bowl, but you’re going to have a better time.”
I’m trying to figure out how the above statement makes sense. |

Stopped in during the week and the place is being updated. Not much done, can’t really tell what it will look like when it is finished. Too bad the owners can’t be updated, especially the fat one. |

His name is Rip. Boy, he is a nasty dude. Like I said, the center is really nice but good old Rip, needs an attitude adjustment. Can’t understand why the bowlers still want to bowl there with a owner that appears to have a chip on his shoulder. Maybe because he is fat and bald, who knows ? |
|
Comment Date: 6/7/2007 Name: ?????????? |
the fat bald owners name is Rip Callahan |

Bowl-O-Rama is a nice place, teh only problem I have is that the owners are real cheap. I bowled there last year for the first time and they put open bowlers right next to our league. When I complained, the fat bald owner, I do not know his name, told me if I did not like it, to bowl some where else. Well, you know what, I am !! |

See Dirk Ridley @ South Windsot 10 Pin. He’s been drilling my equipment for 10+ years and really knows how to fit your hand. |

Richard, I thought the hotest ball on the market was the Total NV which has Ebonite on it !!! |
|
Comment Date: 5/22/2007 Name: TD |
Can anyone recommend a pro shop in the area that has balls in stock and has a clue how to drill one? |
|
Comment Date: 5/21/2007 Name: Rich Reynolds |
Its obvious that you have never came into our pro shop to discuss bowling balls with me. We try to educate the customer when they come through the door. We carry every brand on the market. I am on the Hammer Staff and familar with the brand. Just so you know, the hottest ball on the market is the Black Widow which has a Hammer on it. |
|
Comment Date: 5/18/2007 Name: Someone who knows |
BowlWinkles is probably the worse Pro Shop around. Bob is a self proclaimed “know it all” and Rich hardly says anythink except hammer is great. Go ther at your own risk !! |

Try Bowl Winkle’s Pro Shop in Super Bowl Lanes in Plantsville, CT. They have equipment in stock and a knowledgeable staff. I believe they have a web site – bowlwinkles.com |

We recently had our office party at Bowl O Rama we all had a great time. We can not wait to go back. We were told by management that starting this June 1st 2007 it will be completely gutted and rebuilt we can not wait. Definitely the best bowling center in the Hartford area |

Bowl-O-Rama is where I learned to throw a hook. So my natural shot is optimum for their lane conditions. The conditions do seem to change depending on the time and day you go, but I think that is to be said about all lanes. It is not as state-of-the art as Bradley and Vernon, which have recently remodeled. As for the robbery, Newington is a pretty safe town…The lane is definetly better than Silver lanes in East Hartford. I used to bowl all the time there, but it has recently become an unsafe place to bowl, and you must prepay for games because of the area. Laurel Lanes in Plainville, I’ve only been to once, is kind of run down, and I believe they now charge by the hour.
All in All..Bowl-O-Roma is the best bowling center in its area, but if you are willing to pay a little more, I recommend traveling to Vernon Lanes, or Bradley. Where they have a new facility as well as X-Treme and red pin bowl. |

We had our department Christmas party there and will be going back again. Staff was very easy to coordinate with and the price was excellent. Sheet pizza was a little greasy but still tasty. |

This bowling alley is great. I have been coming here for about 10 years know and never had a problem. My boyfriend is in a bowling league there and is been good. I have kids that they are free to play anything in this place and they treat every1 as family. |

Attended a party in this bowling alley recently. A real nice place. Had a GREAT time, CLEAN, MODERN, GREAT STAFF. Pinsetters worked GREAT absolutely NO PROBLEMS. Last time I bowled was at another bowling alley in Hartford area. Not as much fun as Bowl O Rama. Can’t wait to go back there |

Pretty decent center…open 24 hours a day. Bowled in a NEBA there last year and finished 14th. Whoever said the shot isn’t legal…it seems pretty legitimate for a house shot. Come to sky top…that is a true walled shot now. |

Been there once or twice, decent bowling alley but afraid of being robbed, I went there and they got robbed after I left, how shady. The shot isn’t legal, and there is always food or something sticky on the approaches. Better go to Duck Pin down the street. |
