Bobby Fleetwood clearly drills the best balls around

Comment Date: 9/10/2010 Name: not a pro…yet
Well said. Any and all restrictions on scores are due to the lack of knowledge and equipment by the person delivering the ball. All conditions are playable.

Comment Date: 7/7/2010 Name: John leidel
Im a pro. The conditions at milford seem to be a fair shot. Try a week bowling ball with aggressive back end and try to play a deep inside line using the hevy oil in the center. If ur a straight down and in player use the ball ur using adding speed on a dry house shot. If u cant figure out a lane condition my friends. Than ur not a true bowler.

Comment Date: 6/18/2010 Name: joe
Bobby Fleetwood runs the best pro shop in the state. Too bad the lanes are never conditioned properly. It’s a real shame to see a center this size never close to full capacity.

Comment Date: 2/15/2010 Name: Anonymous
The “shot’ does not costy money. The shot is only as good as the machine that puts it down, and relies heavily on maintaining the machine, which brings up the subject of expirience, and knowledge. And that is priceless.

Bobby Fleetwood is great.Milford is not my regular bowling center. He took his time and made sure my new ball fit properly.Worth the trip for sure. Thanks again

AMF has joined a long list of corporate owners that have driven bowling centers into the ground. It amazes me how AMF can continue to spend money on everything except the actual shot. This year AMF has installed flat screen moniters, yet the shot is still inconsistent and usually dry.

Comment Date: 11/24/2009 Name: Anonymous
Dito on way can I afford to go there for a few hours. Gotta be the most expensive center in the area.

pro shop is great here also, bobby fleetwood is a great guy and does great work when it comes to drill your ball, bobby has been around a very long time and is very smart when you are looking for the right ball reactions if you have any questions, stop in, he will be more then happy to help you………believe me

Comment Date: 7/28/2009 Name: jim
Thanks for backing me up man. I agree with you 100 percent. Mohegan can be cheaper than bowling here!

Comment Date: 7/23/2009 Name: Tito
Right on, Jim. I can go to Mohegan Sun, spend more time there and actually spend less then bringing the wife here to bowl 2 games w/shoes. Forget the food prices. I’ll starve first.

Comment Date: 7/18/2009 Name: jim
This place is so damn expensive. How much does bowling need to cost for gods sake.

Comment Date: 4/29/2009 Name: Sharkey
Large scholarships for ALL junior bowlers???’s you again..I thought you ONLY bowl at Wallingford. Can’t be too good if you have to place an ad on this site to get bowlers. Can’t get anyone in-house to create this league?

Comment Date: 4/22/2009 Name: Katie
I took my brother bowling here last night. The total for two games each with shoes was 37 DOLLARS! does that seem a bit much to anyone?

Comment Date: 4/10/2009 Name: BowlingFanatic2828
I’m the league director of the Family Night League. It’s an Adult/Jr League – 3 per team, vacancies allowed. Large scholarships are awarded for all junior bowlers. There is fun, competition and coaching. $16 per wk per bowler. Our summer league begins May 26th, 2009.

They work for would look fishy to working for that outfit.

Comment Date: 11/7/2008 Name: Anonymous
seems like theres something fishy going on with all of the employees that work here.

Comment Date: 11/6/2008 Name: djrickysmith
Has a great pro shop run by Bobby Fleetwood (3rd Place in 1997 ABC Bud Light Masters). Look it up on youtube, posted by JAVAKING. Plently of lanes to bowl on!!
The Price…better stop at the atm before open bowling here!

Comment Date: 8/9/2008 Name: Anonymous
this place rocks!!! keep up the good work.

Comment Date: 8/7/2008 Name: Anonymous
agreed. unfortunately, amf lanes has become obsessed with increasing the food sales instead of bettering the customer service. i miss the days when they actually cared about league members. at least they’re fixing the bar up and have attractive employees; they’re something nice to look at when everything in the place falls apart.

In the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed that the shot is consistently dry with very few pathces of oil. I wonder If AMF is trying to save money by not spending as much money on oil. But, other than that, the alley is great!

Comment Date: 7/6/2008 Name: Anonymous
U R right..I noticed the wood is missing in areas just before the foul line. Termites having lunch there?? No doubt with the high prices at the snack bar!!! Plastic wood wont do it..gotta be patched properly, but with the financial restraints at AMF, this is unlikely to happen. They just take the price increases from the bowlers, and spend it on upper management.

Comment Date: 6/26/2008 Name: jammed ankle
hey..whats up with this place? the approaches are missing chunks of wood in some areas!! I can fix them with a couple gallons of plastic wood. Won’t slide right, but at least they will look better!

Comment Date: 4/16/2008 Name: Anonymous
Hey John, why would anyone waste their time looking up bowling distances and ratios on {website deleted} like yourself?

Comment Date: 4/16/2008 Name: Steve
I worked in the CT market in the late 80’s and early 90’s and can tell you that anyone that compares today’s shot to conditions prior to ABC’s short oil is a fool. Today’s conditions are a joke (that’s wjy USBC has changed the awards program starting next year that you only receive one 300 and 800 award in a life time. So for all you people that think you can average220 or 23 on the conditions of 25 years ago , you are fools and know nothing about conditions at all.

Comment Date: 4/14/2008 Name: john smith sr
hey anonymous, why would any1 would waste their time for that stupid request???it’ll make no difference!!!you couldnt hit the broad side of a barn, anyways!!i know the rule for lane conditioning,3 units.also usbc is looking to change that to ratio, according to their website,,{website deleted} why dont you check it out show me where it says about distance.i read it 3 times and it doesnt say anything about it.

Comment Date: 4/6/2008 Name: Anonymous
Ok. Name at least 10 centers that you have been to where the shot is a consistent 45′ gutter to gutter pattern.

Comment Date: 4/3/2008 Name: john smith sr
hey anonymous, there are centers in the u.s.,that still oil around 45′.sorry to embarrass’s true.not all houses oil the same,YOU GET OVER IT!!!!

Comment Date: 4/1/2008 Name: Anonymous
Also Frank, I am not one of those idiots that only cares about hooking it gutter to gutter and likes to see the ball hook. I play straight up the boards. My feet are at 15, and I place the ball on 7

Comment Date: 4/1/2008 Name: Anonymous
Hey Frank, I am almost certain that you have no life and you criticize people like me on this site for a living. And guess what, the age of 45′ of oil gutter to gutter is OVER. Get real.

Comment Date: 3/25/2008 Name: frank johnson
to annonymous,i can average about 170 on gutter to gutter pattern.i know for a fact, you would quit half way thru one game.also,it’s amazing to see you bounce around quite a few websites.saying, this person isnt the manager, stay in your rocking chair, stuff like sounds stupid.i also agree, usbc needs to change the lane conditions,so clowns like you will have to,whats that word????(ADJUST).

Comment Date: 3/23/2008 Name: Anonymous
to that bowler 2828 guy virginia isnt even the manager there… i dont even think she would even take that job if it was offered to her

Comment Date: 3/23/2008 Name: Steve Franko
I miss this place, workin the snack bar and hangin with kenny p and the gang back in the fair lanes days. I used to bowl well with my black knight, shot was so easy it was like stealing money in pot games.

Comment Date: 3/22/2008 Name: ex amf meadows bowler
i can average about 150 on 45’ft gutter to gutter, that’s including on synthetic surface.these high tech machines can do this without a problem,as far as know what i would do??,i have public tv tape it,& broadcast it,so everyone can see what happens when a bowler who thinks he or she, isnt a 200t average’ll bring all these jokers on cloud 9,back to reality, within a day.

Comment Date: 3/21/2008 Name: anonymous
whatever. i’d like to see how you would do on that condition. moron

Comment Date: 3/19/2008 Name: ex amf meadows bowler
to anonymous, keep dreaming.i havent seen any1 bowl luckily a 150 game ,on 45’ft gutter to gutter.i’ll like to see that.on synthetic, its even more & your buddies $200 strike-in-the-box balls, wouldnt do all ex head mechanics who worked in that era, would tell you the same thing.(KEEP DREAMING)!!!!!

Comment Date: 3/15/2008 Name: anonymous
anytime, anyplace “ex meadows bowler”

Comment Date: 3/3/2008 Name: ex meadows bowler
to those 2 jokers ,id like to see you both bowl 300 on a 70s condition.then the lanes were stripped once a week and there was no easy shot.the house i worked at,we oiled 45′ gutter to gutter, everyday.i guarantee you,300s would be nowhere to be seen.

Comment Date: 2/27/2008 Name: Anonymous
If he is your best friend, you have serious issues in life to deal with. If you are really a “great” bowler, stay away from this guy, as he will only drag you down with his unfounded claims, statements and observations from every bowling center in Connecticut he seem to be in.

Comment Date: 2/14/2008 Name: Annonymous
Look bowling world idiot, bowlingfanatic2828 just happens to be my best friend who knows a lot about bowling and averages over 180 and I average over 190 and im only 12. You may not believe this, but i also shot 300 at milford on 1/19/08. I am currently the youngest person in the state of connecticut to bowl 300. And before you make fun of someone else, i suggest you keep your mouth shut.

Comment Date: 2/14/2008 Name: BowlingFanatic2828
Bobby is a fantastic pro shop guy. He treats me and every other person who spends $1000 on bowling balls like his own son. He may come across as professional, but he really is not a scam artist like other pro shop guys I know. His trademark is finishing with a Coors Light at the end of the day!

Comment Date: 12/12/2007 Name: bowlers’world
Attention,I found 2828,mr fanantic,on Colony Lanes website.I knew it was matter of time, before he appeared again. This person said he couldn’t react to the shot! Now that’s sad.bowling2828,needs lessons for tougher conditions.Where’s George Carlin when you need him.

Comment Date: 11/30/2007 Name: bowlers world
I must be seeing things. That bowling fantanic, now is on this site.I have to agree, you better stick with AMF Hamden Lanes.Yes,have you worked in a bowling center? It seems, you get around. You have too much time on your hands.I worked at this center, back in the 90s.Yes,I know Virgina,Buzz, and the rest of the gang.It was a pleasure working at Milford, before AMF took over.I couldn’t believe when 2525 was here.

Comment Date: 11/28/2007 Name: Mr.Caustic
Go Back to your Hamden Lanes section. You posted some mild negatives about Wallingford, and now Milford. You rave about your Family Fun League at Hamden, then you say you bowl at these other 2 establishments. Then you rate employees at this facility as unprofessional. Do you work at any center??? As a Junior Bowler,(from what you say) I do not think you are no where near qualified to make assessments like that.
PS: I have worked with Virginia, Buzzy, and a few other people there. They are all professional, and yes, I myself started in the bowling industry in 1965.

Comment Date: 11/28/2007 Name: BowlingFanatic2828
The lanes are very good. The manager, Virginia, is a very nice lady. I enjoy bowling at Milford bowling lanes. However, I think the workers can be unprofessional. Also, the pro shop guy, Bobby Fleetwood, is a very nice person and really knows his facts.

Comment Date: 10/13/2007 Name: Do-ra-zio
This is a tough house for the average bowler. Unless you have 8 different types of balls, for wet lanes, to flooded, you will go nowhere.

Comment Date: 5/22/2007 Name: Melissa
It is expensive but it’s a great place for a fun time. So much for $5 pitchers.

Comment Date: 1/4/2007 Name: Mike D.
Gee…I thought there were more than 4 Centers in the United States! You must work for AMF to make that statement!

Comment Date: 1/1/2007 Name: Matt
A superb place to go. Ultimately, my favorite bowling center in the United States!!

Comment Date: 11/7/2006 Name: Tony
WOW! Went here for the first time last week. The prices are insane! Have a little mercy for the average working man! Typical of an AMF operated center. Going to stay at private owned establishments!

Comment Date: 2/13/2006 Name: RJ
Not too bad of a center is the machines ran better and your hands and shirt are not oil soaked. A bit too much oil, but the “pro’s” need it.

Comment Date: 1/13/2006 Name: Wally
Consistent shot week to week. Makes scoring easy once you figure it out.

Comment Date: 1/30/2005 Name: Jordan
Good lanes, great alley.

Thursday night specials rock. Watch out for $5 pitchers of beer.
