Hey it’s a great place to go – really inexpensive too! Sure it’s not fancy but who cares. We play with our own balls so no complaints there. The lanes are not bad and the food is cheap.

I don’t know why people are saying this place is bad. I think it’s an alright place. Of course I haven’t really been to many other places because there’s not that many in Oxnard.

Theres no point to fix the place if the wagon wheel center is closing down.

It is very obvious that the positive comments posted on here are from people tied to the place (employees or ownership). Also, for those commenting on people’s reviews, understand what a review is, an OPINION! You do not need to get into a debate with those posting a different perspective than you. The fact that you don’t understand this and go to this hideous, rat-infested, out-of-date place is evidence that you are GHETTO (as we all know Oxnard is!). In all fairness to the location, it is a landmark. Ownership should spend some effort in restoring the place and training their employees on customer service. You are better suited going elsewhere. This is place is sooooo gross!!!

Wagon Wheel Bowl is a great place.
It has been there for years, and hopefully it will be there for many more.
There are not many bowling alleys left for us to enjoy. So will enjoy this one while I can.
The front desk staff is very friendly. I think they do an excellent job.
And the all around atmosphere is really nice.

i think someone is getting paid to put all those good comments about this place…. this place S*CKS! the driest lanes ever, it smells, theres random bumps on the lanes, the Dj for atomic bowling s*cks, the pins look like if you hit them theyll turn to dust! when i was a kid it used to be good and i really enjoyed it there but since then the place has gone to hell. go to ventura or camarillo.

Wagon Wheel is an institution, we drive all the way up from L.A. to bowl here! It’s terrific to see a vintage neon bowling sign from the 101, so classic. I remember when the stagecoach was lit, too.

I actually love the lanes there. never seen any rats (very funny) big or small. i dont know how it would smell like cigarettes if its not allowed indoors, quit hating.

Sometimes understaffed-Front desk crew very cool and friendly. One outta two bartenders don’t act as if they are doing you a favor.

People were very rude. Lanes are super old. I think they should condemn the place

well to “AG” maybe you should be less pickie and no give attitude to anyone. you do not know how many hours that lady at the bar had been working and maybe it was a long day. wagon wheel bowling is my favorite place to be and the atmosphere is better without people like you there!

Comment Date: 1/22/2007 Name: AG
We were there yesterday (1/21/07) to celebrate my niece’s birthday. Terrible customer service skills from everyone there. The lady at the bar was sooo moody and everyone else too. Whenever we had a question they questioned everything we said. It was more like we were bothering them, when in fact we were paying for a service. The place is so old, and we knew it, but we thought at least we would get a good service.
Advise everyone not to go there and consider other newer bowling places in the area – Ventura or Camarillo.

This alley has impressed me as being a good alley for the serious bowler. Service is nice lanes are on the dry side of good, pinsetters are fast, but house balls are lousy and scoring system is old and tricky.

I really like the place! You should check it out for yourself.

Comment Date: 1/21/2006 Name: George
The have hardly any rats. The ones you do see are small and leave you alone.

Comment Date: 7/30/2005 Name: mike
This place looks like it’s going to fall apart. It smells like cigarettes and the lanes stink.

Rude people, good food, ok equipment. Need better, friendlier workers.
