My daughter attended a birthday party there a few weeks ago. Until then, I had been very impressed by the appearance of the facility. However, I have to agree with the others that their service is AWFUL. It wasn’t even my party, and I found the staff rude, uninterested and most of the time absent. My daughter wants a bowling party, and we will probably go to Gable House. (The Lucky Strike pizza was terrible! None of the kids ate, which is uncommon for a bunch of 11-year olds.) |

The Torrance location looks great, but the management team s*cks. We were invited to an adult party and was turn down due to dress code policy. This policy breeds room for discrimination. Some of part was ask to purchase Lucky Strike shirts inorder to bowl. Which we felt was unfair. Those who were white were given special treatment. We watch outside as they turn people down and pick and choose who they wanted to enter. We will file a complaint. They used the policy to turn down rude people, but if you were treated unfair wouldn’t you question why? |

I held my duaghter’s 8th birthday party at the Lucky Strike in Torrance and had a horrendous customer service experience. First, they had us wait in a line that took 30 minutes to check in (along with EVERYONE else despite having given them my ccard number for a birthday package reservation). Next, by the time me and my guests got to the front of the line they had, of course, run out of most shoes sizes for kids (the bulk of traffic during daylight hrs). When we got to our lanes, the banner scrolling on our monitor read, “Last Call for Alcohol” instead of my daughter’s birthday message…so, yeah, all my 7 and 8yo guests wanted to know what Last Call for Alcohol meant? When the waitress finally made her way to us, she wanted to take our order until I explained we had purchased the birthday Strike Zone package to which she expressed confused surprise. Ugh! I found the portly manager who asked me if I had in fact purchased the birthday package, “Of course, why would I have a birthday cake (which they had told me they would refirgerate until ready to cut but didn’t) and a table full of presents? To enssure your staff got my requests correclty, I specifically drove over here last night at 8;30 p.m. to confirm everything for my package in person.” Yet, the still fouled it up. He gave a half-hearted apology and walked away. When the waitress strolled by again, I asked her to please check my file to find out what specifically it was that I had purhcased. As She walked towards the manager who stood next to the utterly useless hostess. I followed to ensure there was no further confusion. The waitress begins to ask for clarifiction on my behalf when the hostess and the balding manager begin snickering at what she is asking (again, clarification on my behalf) and mock, “She thinks she’s getting what?LOL” I then, calmly reply, “I am standing right here.” Shock but no apologies. Again utterly useless customer service…and still have the nerve to charge 15% tip automatically to my bill. UGH! |

Unfortunately, there is a sense of unprofessionalism within the staff and service provided at this alley. The lanes themselves are up to par for the most part, but there is a good chance one might run into problems if expectations are high for the over all experience. Bowler beware. |
