Miss the place. Always hoped it would be a center again. Learned a lot there and wouldn’t trade my time working and bowling there for anything.

anyone who has anything bad to say about ccb or anyone in the means family is a fool..i miss all of them so much. jay was such a good guy with an amazing heart..i loved working with him at 6am while oiling lanes when he was happy he could talk to you for hours..RIP jay means, and the legacy you created. CCB is still the most talked about bowling center and its not even open anymore

I worked at Country Club Bowl for about 3 or 4 years, at the desk.
I always felt sorry for Jay….His Mom seemed to be a very cold person and his wife was cold also.
He could get me so angry , with him, and the next thing, he would come to the counter with a rose for me, to apologize. He was like a little boy, at times.
The last time we saw Jay, was at the Old Country Buffet. We were happy to see he had his family there…He seemed so happy , at that time.
I was very disappointed that I found out about his passing after he was already buried. I still think about him and I wish someone could have helped him. I loved Country Club Bowl.
I loved all my senior leagues. We had many great times there…I can’t believe it is gone.
A lot of peoples memories are gone with it.
Yes, he tried hard to be worthy of Love.
We even took a trip to Yuma to visit him, when he worked there. He did have a good heart…
I was disappointed to see the obituary didn’t even mention a wife or children….The one I got to read just said Jay Means died….I pray he has the peace he never had in life.
You are loved by the Almighty, Jay…John and I will always miss you.
Rest in Peace, little soldier!!!

Jay Means was my first boss back in 1983. I liked and respected him very much. I was very sorry to hear about his passing. I am also very sad to hear about Country Club Bowl closing. It is like a part of my childhood and early adulthood had died.

It did not close due too bankruptcy, it was a fine house..may be bought by a large company or just demolished….what a shame

Sad to say, but the center is no longer with us. It has shut down do to bankruptcy i have heard.
Which means Bowlers Edge Is also gone, bad thing this was a great pro-shop.(rummer has it that they might be trying to get in with the new brunswick opening up on Warner)
Watch Out For This Center in about 5 to 6 months

I wanted to personally thank everybody for standing behind Jay. He did the best he could with we had. Want to thank everybody for their support at his funeral and to realize how many people really cared about Jay. Our family is trying to move on, it’s been hard but we will survive. Thanks to all our friends and patrons of country club bowl. Jay is missed very much. We all love you Jay. Love Lori

Place is getting a little run down, needs renovation. Lanes are still very competitive, although sometimes dirty. Employees are helpful, and friendly. Prices are great, good atmosphere, fun family place. Spend some money to take care of all mechanical problems, and minor details, otherwise great job!!!! Miss ya Jay!!!

As an employee from a competitive center Jay will be missed. The industry has lost a good friend. Rest in peace Jay !

Jay was a great guy , never had much but always had a big heart for his bowling alley ! Always had great prices and wouldn’t fold to his competitors. Always remember Jay Means !

Jay and crew have let this center deteriorate to the mess it is in now. The place is filthy and needs a MAJOR overhaul, or wrecking ball.

Country Club Bowl is nice because it’s the cheapest around and it’s easier than most to find lanes. Unfortunately it is extremely dirty. Balls come back gritty.

This place is great! It’s affordable and there is never a huge crowd and there is always an open lane.
