I wish all bowling alleys in alabama offered the amf bowling programs for kids during the summer time. I have bowled at the amf bama bowl in tuscaloosa and I live in cullman and they dont offer a kids summer league program like yaba young bowlers association for ages 5-20 It would bring more children back to enjoying there summer and get them into something that would keep them out of trouble.I bowled on saturday leagues since I was 5 years old and I enjoyed it If our Cullman bowling center offered a summer league for children My Daughter would be there.I believe anything we can do to get children back into activities and be able to enjoy themselves and have fun.. Thanks

Never have I seen a business run like this one. >Power Bill: League has to wait to start so power bill can be paid.
>Gas Bill:Two leagues vote to walk out cause of no heat due to gas being shut off
>Employees dont know if and when going to get paid because owner takes money out of the center before they get paid
>Parking lot floods during rain
>local merchants request cash only because checks are “no good”

I recently was in Anniston I was amazed at how run down the facility was and the lack of bowling..I was told that they were going to lose many of their league bowlers because no one cared about the business and the customers..I am truly sorrow to hear that as I feel with the right leadership that place could be a gold mine…good luck….A former Anniston resident and former Anniston bowler.

This message to the owners of Anniston Bowling Center. The man you have there as manager is ok I guess but he doesn’t know anything about running a bowling center. I was just wondering why you don’t hire a “real” bowling center manager who knows how to promote the center and get it back where it use to be. This place could be a great place to bowl but you really do need a professional manager.

Has anyone been to Anniston Bowling Center since the new management took over? How was your experience?
I, personally, have been several times with my family and I am really impressed with the new management. Mr. Watson is a really nice person, and I really enjoyed the experience. The whole atmosphere is so different than it was before when Mr. Bright, (Ronnie as he is called), was the manager. The center seems to be more family oriented now than before, and the people who work behind the counters are all open and friendly and very welcoming. A most pleasant experience to have when you are spending a good bit of money! Keep up the good work, Anniston Bowling Center.

Just a couple comments here. Why is it that the only comments on here are from last year? Also, why is this site still open for comments, and the site for Anniston Bowling Center closed to comments? Did the complaints start hitting too close to home? What’s going on here? Apparently the management can’t stand the heat? So, what does that tell you?

I use to Work at the Anniston Center. I was working the night the Manager was sitting behind the bar on the clock drinking. I have kept quiet about it till now. So the Sandlin’s know… Debbie told us that everyone on her team was on her Tab. When it came time to Pay she told Melanie to ring them ALL up under her discount! She didn’t ask me because I would have said something to her about it. Nearly $40. in beer sales! That NEVER happened when I was in Charge of the Deli and Bar! I was there I saw it Happen I heard her say All of it was on her Discount! That night wasn’t the ONLY time she did it! After the 2nd time, I Amanda told Ronnie that she was doing it… because it wasn’t Fair to the rest of the Employees that she was the Exception to the Discount Rule. The discount is for Employee’s Only! Not whomever she says to give it to!

First let me say: I Bowl on Friday night’s and when this Incident happened the Deli Manager WAS NOT BOWLING!! She had to have Surgery and had a Substitute Bowling in her Place when she was Sitting behind the Bar on the Clock Drinking and Giving her Team-mates $1. Beer’s!! Second: If you don’t Bowl at the Anniston Center than you shouldn’t Comment on things you have No Knowledge of! I Agree with Love2bowl, Find Someone Worth Backing! Because the Anniston Deli Manager is as Dishonest as they come. The Guy’s running the back have NO Money for Parts because she is Spending All the Money they Need to Keep the Machine’s Working Properly! Buying Beer on Post to Re-sell!(Isn’t that Illegal?) If the Owner’s don’t do something soon I guess we will loose the only center in Oxford and Anniston! Bill and Les need to WAKE-UP!!!! I can’t Believe that they care So Little about thier Loyal Customer’s!(I have been Loyal for 6years.) How many Complaint’s do You Need!?! Third: After the First half of this Season WE WILL NO LONGER BOWL AT THE ANNISTON CENTER due to the Deli Manager and her Un-Clean Food Handling!(Yes, I have seen this for Myself!) I hope by then Maybe Something will be done about this Situation!!

I think the people giving Cullman Bowling Center a bad rep!!!!!!! needs to recheck their opinons.
I have been going there for years and I am not from Cullman. I drive 45 min. to bowl there because the atmosphere is better (overall) staff is very friendly and eager to help.
Sounds like to me the people complaining have a problem themselves.

Reply: Do you live in Anniston? Do you buy food from the deli? Do you work in the deli? Do you know her so well that you want to stand up for her? I live here have been to the Anniston center have watched how she treats people, seen her unclean ways of handling food and you call us stupid? Wake up and grow up! Find someone worth backing before you call us stupid!

You people in Anniston are so stupid, do you not know that the deli manager bowls on Friday nights and does not work therefore she can drink if she wishes too & how can you say that she was giving beer away free or at employees cost was, she is not that kind of person. Sounds to me like you have an agenda with something against her on it. Get a life and stop trying ruin others you cry baby!!!

I have seen the Manager of the deli at the Anniston bowling center drinking behind the bar and then giving her team members beers at the discount that employees get. Looks like a lot of profit down the drain for Anniston. I refuse to eat anything made by someone who has no resspect for the well fare of Anniston bowling center, and OPENLY drinks while on duty. I have posted this in cullman with the hope that the owner Bill will see this and take appropiate action. Please show the bowlers of Anniston that you due care about us and get rid of this DRUNK.

The owners are the worst people you can imagine. They don’t care about anything but money!!! Center and employees are both bad!

I am a league bowler at the Anniston bowling Center. This past friday nite during league I along with many other patrons noticed that the Snack and bar manager was sitting behind the Bar drinking and serving alcohol to customers. I heard that the Sandlins owned the Anniston and Cullman centers. Because I can not get in contact with the owners (who will not return my calls)I thought that puttin it out there for all to see maybe it will get back to them. An alcoholic for a Bar Manager is never a good idea. Again very concerned in Anniston.

This place is awesome!!! The staff was friendly & it was clean. We will be back!

Comment Date: 8/27/2007 Name: Day Care Woker
I think this is a GREAT place to take the family and a Day Care. It is very clean and smoke free!!! It sounds to me like the person who gave the bad review has a personal vendetta with someone because that opinion does not reflect the true environment of the alley!!! I love it!!!

I agree with Chris. I like the place and unfortunately it caught fire a few months ago and they rebuilt it really nice for us – leather sofas – hard wood floors – bar tables. I think they care.

I read some of the other comments and I think the first one is from out of town. I like this place and the owners and staff are really nice and I’m thankful that I have a bowling alley to bowl at. It’s my #1 hangout spot. I’ve been bowling there for about 4 years now. I recommend you come to this bowling alley. They also have good rates like on Tuesday and Thursday nights it’s only $1.00 a game. So come on out and have fun.

Any one who thinks this is a great center should really consider themselves a little short. These guys that own this center as well as the one in Anniston, Don’t give a hoot about no body but the bottom line and thats the green..They are never in the centers, don’t mingle with the public, don’t care who the put in charge of there centers and who they get money from to try and cover themselves and themselves and their alleys, cuase thats where they should be. Check them out don’t just take my word for it, they have some of the meanest managers and ugly workers, I beleive in Alabama.

Staff is friendly. Carpet is old. Lockers need to be replaced. Equipment could be updated.
