I go there every week. I love bowling there. theres great people there and its fun to bowl. it needs updating some (like the floor, lockers, food(as in better tasting) but besides that it works well. they have great lanes. always or 90% of the time have the same oil pattern for the leagues. great for parties and family gatherings. so i like this place

i agree that river view lanes is way too expensive, i prefer to go to the trussville bowling alley for that reason. as far as the crime, remember, just because it is in a white people area does not mean that there is no crime or drug use going on. i am sure drugs are there for anyone who wants to find them.

Bowled there last week, has been several years ago that I was there. Center has ran down some but that happens. Is this center still a BRC center, if so i am shocked in the bathroom state of condition.

Okay, I have to question the drugs/theft comment; this alley is in a very good part of town, and I have never seen any activity of the sort. Yes, the bathrooms could use attention (always), and the alley isn’t the newest facility in town, but it is friendly and fun. I will also say that they desperately need to perform some maintenance on the machinery; the pin setters and ball returns frequently fail to operate properly. Yes, the conditions vary, and are usually oily. However, that is part of the fun. If you want to be a real bowler, you need to be able to adapt to lane conditions..tournaments aren’t played on dry lanes. If you want an alley with lanes dry enough to hook a house ball, there is at least one other place in town that qualifies. For more entertaining conditions and a great pro shop, Riverview is the spot.

Wow…I’m not sure that the car stolen, drug deal guy went to the same place as the rest of us. The bathrooms might smell sometimes but its a well run establishment in a good part of town, well lit parking lot, friendly staff, and caters to bowlers of all skill levels. They offer more opportunity for casual bowlers than other houses in Birmingham that seem to have a good ole boy click running the joint every night. The lane conditions can be challenging but that’s part of the game. I give the place two thumbs up.

I went to the rummage sale, and everyone agreed something must be done about the oily conditions.

I agree with Jim’s analysis of the oily ball situation. After our last tournament with the Methodist Ladies’ Group, I found my ball to have so much lane residue on it that I had to give it away to the Junior League’s Rummage Sale. I hope they address this issue presently.

I bowl in the Golden Nuggets League. The lane conditions are not consistent from week to week. One week oily, the next very light oil. Hard on seniors who cannot afford to buy a ball for each lane condition.
