Dawn does a great job there as well as the staff.
People want to shot 300 every night where’s the fun in that. Bowling is suppose to be challenging.
Good bowlers make lane adjustments. Did you ever think maybe it’s your game that me be off? I bowled the bud there and had fun. The staff was friendly and the updated scoring was nice change.

We are moving our team to Northern Lights Rec. Much cleaner, better service and ALL THE LANES ARE IN TOP SHAPE!!! No more warped lanes, faulty pin setters or FAULTY scoring equipment. NLR is charging same lane, drink prices and has MUCH better food from a full menu. We are looking forward to the 2010-2011 season!

I think that the bowling center in Cheboygan isn’t as good as it should be there is a hottie that works there that i always look at but that’s it. The only thing i like about the Bowling Center is their chili cheese fries

When will CBC learn that having a Band during week during bowling season dosen’t cut it! People have to go to work the next day, Friday or Saturday is o.k. but during the week. They had to lose their A– last night, the band was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think, and when we left at 10 p.m. you could count the amount of people in the entire place(including employees) on your hands & toes, no wonder the owner pleads proverty!

It would be nice if the owner would leave the oil patterns alone and quit messing with it EVERY night. It is bad when a 200 average bowler rolls a 450. We are there to have fun a bowl on leagues we are not pro. So leave the oil pattern alone!!

Just to reply to Cole, you know what just like everyone else is finding a new place to bowl, you find a new Insurance Agency, you don’t eat subways anymore,or the business learns how to make their customers happy or they can close down.

We jumped ship on the leagues and are going to Northern Lights Recreation, good luck this year

All these complaints… just go to the alley in harbor Springs, I have been there and it’s run like a well oiled machine! Food is awesome, very clean

My car insurance place messed up my insurance, and forgot to send me my new papers resulting in a no proof of insurance ticket. Subway won’t let me get turkey instead of ham on my BMT anymore, My television set only gets 2 channels now even though they said the reception is going to get better. The guy that “fixed” the heater core in my truck last winter is an alcoholic and now it needs to be fixed again. My cell phone doesn’t work where i live, THIS IS TODDLER SQUABBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where do you work? Maybe I’ll come in and complain till you get so upset you want to go in your office and cry……..

I was at the last meeting and I feel that the owner has made it clear that she doesn’t care about the league bowlers. I also belive that if there was another bowling ally in cheboygan that most all the league bowlers would switch houses because of the way she acted on top of the fact that the building is in dissarey. I wish it was a better environment to bowl. I do not want to change houses but I feel we have no choice. To all those people who keep saying being it up to the manager and owner; it has been before and was aging the only thing that came out of it was(in my opinion) two grown woman acting like stubborn selfish children. She just doesn’t care.

I used to work there in 2007 and I can tell you know that it is 10 times better now then when I worked there and that they are trying to make it better. Only problem is the way they are going about doing it. They are taking out lanes when that what it is is a bowling alley so they might gain money from it but at the same time there losing there a** in money from the Friday night league. They also need to check into the employees they have working there since more of them abuse working there then anything else. When your deposits are short and food and alcohol is missing look to your employees cause there the ones doing it!!!!

Wow! I took my family to the Cheboygan bowling alley yesterday and we had a GREAT time! Food was good, music was perfect for the family, and the staff was very helpful. I was pleasantly surprised. We will be back!

does anybody know if they want to sell the cbc

Everytime I go to the bowling alley I at least hear 1 person complain about something that’s wrong with that place! And I read all of these comments on here and hear negative things. I just feel like if you can post stuff on a website about a place or complain to others about it nothing will ever get done! So instead of complaining about the Cheboygan Bowling Center on this page or to anyone else why don’t all of you go talk to the Manager there or the Owner??? I know they are trying to make improvements there and with the economy the way it is in MI and all over just like any other business they too are having their financial problems. Please bare with them in this hard time of the economy in the sense that they may not have a certain kind of beer or wine or liquor! They are doing what they can to improve that place and trying hard to make it all work!

Comment Date: 11/18/2009 Name: WHO CARES!
We couldn’t talk to Manager because she was on a trip to the Bahamas with the Manager of the Gaylord Bowling Alley and their Boss.

Comment Date: 11/12/2009 Name: Some one who cares!
As for running out of beer and wine, CBC ran out of one kind for one night! Woops the beer company shorted them on the delivery! As for not having the kitchen open because of not having money to pay the bill! {Deleted} That is a technical term! That has never happened or never will. Get your facts strait before you post a bogus blog! And has anyone ever brought these problems up to the Manager? How can you fix a problem if they are not aware it is happening?

All this junk about CBC and their good service and the adding of Simulated Golf, wekk we have been bowling now for almost 2 month, and the place is a mess. It looks like all work is at a standstill, How can they make money, when last night they were out of 3 different kinds of beer and some different wines at the bar, and last month the kitchen was closed because they didn’t have money to pay for the food supplies when order came in.. It is like a sinking ship, how could that place ever been voted Best Bowling Alley in Cheboygan Count, Its not the best , its the only one.

I have been to Cheboygan Bowling Center a few times now through the summer and I think they are doing a great job. Talking with the manager, NO teams have to be cut on ANY leagues for the 09/10 season. They are putting in updated equiptment and making an effort to bring in other people than just bowlers. The prices are cheap compared to other bowling centers and they always give people options on times to come in and bowl for less.

Comment Date: 7/29/2009 Name: Avid Bowlers @ CBC
Just read in paper today, that CBC is taking6 alleys away for simulated golfing, Are they crazy? They are WAY overpriced on there Drinks at bar, Cost of Bowling is NOT CHEAP! And they keep loosing bowlers every ear. And now their biggest league (Friday Night) will be forced to drop teams because they think this Simulated gulf might make them more money, POOR IDEA, they are going to loose their A—S

granted cheboygans center is not the best around. but do your research people they are one of the cheapest bowling centers in northern michigan.. the cost of food there is lower than most places and the quality is great. and as for there summer pricings come on they have so many great deals, where else can you bowl monday through thursday from 4-6 pm for $2 for 2 hrs. there quartermania is always affordable and now they have great deals for teens on thursdays $3 a cover charge and everything is a quarter so come on people instead of complaining just be glad you have a great center!

personally i think that this bowling center s*cks and i did not like the service at all.

Comment Date: 11/4/2007 Name: Anonymous
I liked the kids bowl free or quarter mania specials they used to run in the summer. This made it affoardable for the family to have fun togather. Unfortunatly, I haven’t heard of any specials during the winter, unless it had to do with league bowling. The part I don’t like is that they have no consistancy. For example, the kitchen is open, well whenever? They don’t have enough staff. We were there one time for one of thier specials, the place was half full, getting busier as time went on and they had one person running the counter and the kitchen. So service was slow! Maybe to help improve on things, big or small, they should listen to thier customers ideas or concerns. Or maybe they should be visited by a secret shopper!!!!

the whole place s*cks… prices, owners, leauges…. everything… have you been there? the oil pattern is always different, they are never consistant on prices and the whole place needs be to knocked down now… ray is the only one who knows anything there

I’ve heard that they have some real hotties working there though

This bowling center is going downhill. It used to be such a great place to han gout and have a good ole time. But now the prices sky rocket, the leagues drop in size signficantly, and there is no way a kid can afford to go there. If they would make some minor price cuts, they would get me to go back. But as a college student, there is no way i can afford to go there for even one game. Its near 4 bucks a game which is absurd. And i can only imagine what glow bowling costs on the weekends…youll find yourself in debt if youre there for more than a couple hours.

If this is such a great place, why have some of the league folded? why has enrollment in the youth league dropped almost in half? it may be a great place for an open bowler in a town where the movie theater is the only other indoor activity in the winter time…but for the serious bowler, they may find the opperations of this place seriously lacking…

Comment Date: 4/15/2006 Name: Anonymous
Have you been there lately? I love what they’ve done with this place! The lanes and lane conditions are ten times better than they were. The whole place is a lot more FUN!

Comment Date: 2/9/2006 Name: Anonymous
The lanes could be much better because they keep changing the oils they use and the patterns and its hard to be a consistant bowler here. The prices have gone up a lot in the past year. They charge you extra for cashing a check (2$) even when most of the money would be spent there and for the bowling alleys benefit. The new name of the Alley is Cheboygan Bowling Center.
On the good side the cooks are great and the service is good. They have updated the looks of the interior with new paint (if they ever get it all finished) and new backboards for the alleys.
So they are trying in some ways and need improvement in others, when it comes to making the old timers happy and getting the new bowlers excited about joining leagues.
