Pins and lane surfacing are routine maintenance for all bowling centers. As a bowler, I agree that some efforts are being made here. I don’t agree with the big props for stuff that needs to be done anyway. As far as the shot is concerned, I would say nothing has changed. There seems to be a 300 or 800 there every week and Terry Martin is still averaging 240.
If you ask me, we roasted over the summer and now that winter is here, the building is freezing. I’d be happy if the hvac worked or if somebody there could properly set the thermostats. Outside of climate control, I have no major complaints.

Well the new owners will be there 1yr. As a bowler their they made good improvements to the lanes, new pins , cut and resurface lanes. Oil pattern the same but with the lanes being surface the shot a little hard. Still need to be broken in and pins. Good job to Joe and Kris their trying, Keep the good work up. Mr. John

I understand that the new owners didi take care of the gift card this past we.

Comment Date: 6/15/2010 Name: Tim
I heard that the gift card was 2yrs.old. Would you take something that is 2yrs. old.

Under the management of the old owners, my family paid in advance for my mom to bowl on a senior league. She could not finish the season so the old owners gave me a credit voucher for the unused portion. I wanted to use it for a family bowling outing with my mom after the establishment changed owners and the new owners would not honor it. You would think they would want the positive feedback to build their reputation as new owners. I know I wont be bowling there anymore.

Well, I have to say I’m impressed. The new pro shop area does look pretty nice. It’s much more spacious than the previous closet where they used to have the shop. I think the new people are heading in the right direction. Even the fresh coat of paint looks pretty good down in the arcade!

I have bowled at this establishment since I was a small child and currently work there as well. I have seen the owners change twice and although things are different the new owners and trying to make due and do a good job. The new owners are very nice and will willingly talk to visitors and even joke around. They just need time to get usedto the new area and everyone needs some time to get used to them since there was no idea that owners were changing. It was just as a shock to me as it was to you guys that owners recently changed but they are nice and I think are doing a pretty good job.

I’m a life long league bowler at Blue Ball Lanes. I’ve seen the alley change hands twice now. The new people don’t seem too bad. I haven’t been treated any differently by the new people than I was by Mikki and Glen. I’m going to continue to bowl here and give them a fair shake. Things like this take time I guess. I think it will work itself out.
With regard to the pro shop, I hate to see anyone lose a job or a business. I’m sure they will bounce back from this and do well. Somebody mentioned him as one of the best in the county. This is the only thing I really can’t agree with. I gave this shop a chance and it just didn’t work out for me. Others were happy with their work, but I just can’t say the same. I give them credit. They tried to make it right, but never succeeded. I was going to go to Dutch or Berks and give them a chance, but maybe I’ll wait. I will give the new pro shop a chance and see how it goes.
Either way, good luck to all parties involved in this time of change.

I think everybody should just bowl. I’ve bowled there for years. When the place change hands, things change sometimes good, sometimes not so good.I think the center wents to be run like a bowling center. Not this free that’s free. Its about time that some people should wake up. The one’s that complain are the one’s that can’t get there way. There doing a find job. And many of the people I’ve talk to think so to.

There is always two sides to a story. As far as the pro-shop goes. The bowlers don’t know everything that””s going on.

It is a shame that the new owners and their family feel so defensive about their new business. The lanes used to be a welcome place to go, but there is an uneasiness there now. It is also a shame that they feel the need to be dishonest about the departure of the current pro shop and the upcoming new one. What was promised to one has been given to another, more related person. However, honest comments are no longer welcome on their FB page, so we need to resort to this site to express our opinions.

Blue ball lanes was a nice place until the new owners screwed it all up. Prices rose, things tightened up and its not the family environment that it used to be. They just recently pushed out probably the best ball driller in lancaster county which was a terrible move on their part. Don’t bowl here, they are changing this place left and right for all the wrong reasons.

As far as to Mick and Glen. You can’t judge a book by it’s cover.

New owners seem nice enough. It’s just not like Mick and Glen to leave everyone hanging.

What’s this I hear NEW OWNERS?

This has got to be one of the best bowling alleys I have gone to. The staff is friendly and very helpful. One gentleman took time out to give me a few pointers on my bowling. I always have fun and feel welcome.

They say you can’t please everyone. From reading good and bad comments,it seems that the one’s that complain are the one’s that don’t get there way. Stinky shoes OK but sweetie balls ,come on. That tells me that they don’t know sweat from oil. You know what they say ,that there’s a BAD apple in every bunch.

It was nice if u like putting your feet in moldy shoes eating rotten food and if you like smell of a chicken farm and if you like putting your hand into sweaty (bowling) BALLS

If any bowling alley is truer to its name it’s Blue Ball Lanes. That’s exactly what I got, the women are all teases and the Mom’s like to smile when I hit the strikes, but don’t like it when I offer them beer. It’s not like I’m making their kids drink! The only good thing I can say is that you get what you pay for.

i love this place. hands down my favorite. out of all the centers within a 20-mile radius of me (bowling palace in downingtown, frazer lanes, phoenix lanes, and blue ball), i choose to drive out a half hour to blue ball. the entire staff is EXTREMELY friendly and accommodating; the center itself is kept practically spotless; they put down oil every night so you arent throwing on complete slop; shane, who runs the pro shop, is very helpful with anything youd need; and they have dollar-game specials at least 3 times a week (5 days a week during the summer!). this is a really great place to bowl.

Pro Shop was first class! I had to buy a new bowling ball and the fella there was great (I wish I got his name). I highly recommend his services. He knows what he is doing.
Blue Ball Lanes are great. They take care of the lanes and obviously make them favourable for Professionals and league bowlers.
This isn’t really a gripe, but when I bought my new ball, I took time to practice to make sure the ball was okay. Well, they charged me for the game. I guess that is business, but after paying $175.00 for a ball, I would have hoped I could practice a game without being charged.
Oh well. Something the establishmend should think about. That being said, go to Blue Ball. Great lanes and a good time.

This place was a big disappointment. I will not be returning. The place was not clean and we received less than friendly service.

I bowl at BB Lanes. The people are nice and the prices are good. Promises have been made but broken though. Wish they would follow through with what they say. Need more effort to fill the teams so all teams are full. The junior program is the pits since no one is informed of what is going on. Papers should be sent home with the children since most younger kids forget to tell their parents about tournaments and activites. They need someone else in charge who knows what they are doing or else get someone to help out who is organized.

I work for Micki and at that bowling center. It is the most amazing job anyone could ever have. Micki is the best employer around. I work behind the snack counter during the winter season and when we have tournaments come through we are not only fully prepared but we always get told we are the staff that has the most fun during tournaments. Micki always cleans from top to bottom before the center opens every single day. If something were to happen to someone ball she will make sure its fixed at little to no cost. And we always have great turn outs. Sundays are dollar bowling and we always get alot of people and she can always handle it. We also have a large amount a great bowlers who bowl there. I would never ever ever go to another center.

I’ve never been to Blue Ball Lanes but I knew and worked with Michele Woods-Killin for many years at Berks Lanes in Sinking Springs, PA. Any place that Micki is in charge of has to one of the best bowling establishments around. Her dedication was outstanding and her committment to youth bowling was not to be topped. Nice to know she’s still doing her part to keep good bowling alive and fresh.
