Went to Pickwick Bowl for my first time, 4/10/11. Desk service could use a little improvement, although it was busy while some junior league bowlers were there that morning. Condition of the lanes were fine, but the pinsetters had constant breakdown problems, particularly on Lane 1. Overall, I call it average. Would still return again.

Alex Mochizuki and kaarpl are not “bowling knowlegable”. They are completely unaware of their surroudings and unmindful when it comes to the bowling industry.

The people are not very friendly here, so the atmosphere is not that good. Maybe new pictures and glow-in-the-dark lanes will brighten up the place since the employees fail to do so

Pickwick is a well priced center with average accomodations. Pro shop is usually closed. Some staff are friendly and helpful, others can be clueless and a pain. The snack bar has basic fare, is very very slow, but reasonably priced for what you get. This facility is geared toward families with children and it shows. Nice safe, early-teens and pre-teen hang out. Its not much of a place for people serious about their bowling because of the general lack of etiquette by the patrons that frequent these lanes, but is a fun place to goof around. Side bonus is that we have met some recognizable actors there as its quite close to the studios. We go there about once a month.

I’ve been bowling here for about 2 years (Bowled here in the early 90’s for 5 years, but then stopped to take a break). After coming back, I noticed the people prefer to keep the lanes with light oil, so if you have aggressive bowling balls you may have problems! The reception desk is ok, the bar lady is a bit slow and seems to not care if you wait a long time, and the snack bar is mediocre at best. The pro shop is decent with a modest selection of balls. Roger, the pro shop guy is pretty knowledgeable and can order anything you want if you he doesn’t have it in stock. Overall, the prices are cheap compared to other bowling alleys with their higher prices (See Bahama Lanes, Action Lanes, All Star Lanes) and the pins fall down for most people so they must not be super heavy. If you average 170-180, you can probably do even better in this house. Just make sure to bring the right ball!

This place s*cks. I’ve been going there for over a year and the employees are very unfriendly and don’t help very much and very lazy. Don’t go. It is overpriced and the food s*cks.

One of the employees…I think it was James…kept “accidentally” bumping my nether regions with that spray they use to clean the shoe stank. He would play it off with a childish laugh, and just whisper “Sorry” (holding out the final vowel sound for at least a few seconds. It was mildly creepy). Also, while bowling, James would run up behind me and declare “You suck at bowling!” just before my release. It’s absolutely unacceptable for an employee to cause customers to throw many gutter balls. I wanted a turkey! I’m used to such behavior, though. I had a bad uncle…

This place is horrid. The people are not friendly at all and the prices are horrendously high! Not worth the trip or the fancy ambiance.

We attended our first Sunday Morning Coffee Club this past Sunday and had a really great time. Met some really nice people and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I recommend this facility to all.
