I bowl at Wickliffe Lanes because it is a pleasurable experience in every area. The staff from top to bottom are friendly and visible. The center is kept spotless, where else can you see owners and management in the parking lot picking up trash from people that are to lazy to use a trash receptacle. if you bowl there regulary you will notice that improvements are always being made to make your experience more enjoyable.THANK YOU Wickliffe Lanes for making bowling a clean and enjoyable experience. P.S. I guess thats why its hard to find a parking spot in your lot.

I really like Wickliffe Lanes the best the place is very super clean & bright very excellent the lanes are the best ever the staff so nice friendly & so couterous & wonderful to enjoy the restrooms so clean & great & the snack bar is wonderful a full service of fun food to enjoy & the price is right for a good time to bowl
because this is a very old fashioned style bowling center I been too Its reminds me of the old school palisades days I hope they keep it way for a long time!!!

I bowl at both centers and each of them are nice. To say that Freeway does not support the bowler you would need to see all the youth scholarship money generated, scratch bowling tournaments, and a whole host of other bowling events that promote bowling. Two bowling centers close to each other, people get them confused. Go to anger management classes and get a life!

For all of you idiots out there…. this is Wickliffe Lanes, not Freeway Lanes of Wickliffe. Quit posting comments about Freeway Lanes on here, get a sense of direction. Wickliffe Lanes is located across from the old Seaway Lanes, Gabriel Brothers, Big Lots… down the hill by United Skates of America. Freeway Lanes of Wickliffe is the former Palisades Palace, located by a bunch of car dealerships and McDonalds.
Wickliffe Lanes is a much cleaner, family oriented environment, who cares about their league bowlers. Freeway Lanes as a whole view differently and believe open bowlers will keep the business alive.
Do you get the difference yet????

My son and I have started bowling together again after many years, we bowl in the am, as open bowlers. Everyone seems really nice and helpful. We don’t know the employees by name but I am sure we will, as we will continue to bowl there. Thanks for being there Wickliffe Lanes

I heard Freeway went to Synthetic lanes this year. Can anybody comment on how that has changed the shot in the house with any recommendations on equipment. Pretty much a down and in plyer. THanks,

you obviously didn’t read the other post correctly. It was not knocking Freeway Lanes about hosting tournaments, it is how they treat their leagues when they do have a tournament. They tend to not tell their leagues that they can’t bowl, without warning, NEXT week and for the next 4-6 weeks in a row because of a tournament they booked and forgot to tell the leagues. As for their so-called benefits…too bad their employees can’t afford them. How much does Freeway Lanes contribute? It’s not a benefit when the employee pays 100% of it! And, after the 10 weeks of free lane fees, then how much are they going to jack up the price to pay for thoses new lanes? They might just wait until next season then they will price themselves out of the game. How much will bar, snack bar and bowling prices go up? Instead of putting so much money on all their visual improvements they need to spend some on a new roof to protect those improvements so next time it rains it won’t rain in the building on their “improvements”!!

It is funny to hear someone criticize Freeway Lanes about tournaments, when they are the only Cleveland center to host the PBA, host mulitple Scholarship tournaments, and support all kinds of bowling competitions. Wickliffe Lanes does not support any of this and does not build the Cleveland Bowling Community. Both are nice houses, but Freeway certainly is giving more back to the bowling community. I will continue to bowl in both houses.

Acutally the employees have a 401k, aflac and health care coverage offered to anyone full time. I found the employees thoughtful and happy. It might have been dirty a long time ago, but it is cleaned up now. The free league fees are only for 10 weeks, and the lanes are going in October. The previous post must not have been there in a while.

Cheap shot Freeway!!! Do you really think I would move from a super clean house who treats you great and where the owners/managers knows everyone by name and prices are very reasonable to go bowl at a filthy place where the employees are miserable working there prices are outragous and customers are treated rudely and the leagues never know if the can bowl the whole season or do they get booted (last minute) because of a tournament booked. So what if they offer low to no linage for however long, they couldn’t PAY most bowlers to bowl there.

Did anybody hear about Freeway of Wickliffe offering free league fees for a part of the season if you bring your team there? Are they really getting new lanes just like Wickliffe Lanes?

Dear “dont be fooled by looks”,
What is it that you are really trying to say? Try writing in complete sentences. How about making a constructive comment or state a point of view.

You are talking about “The Palace”. It is by the junction of Euclid Ave & Rt90-2 Spur. Wickliffe Lanes is a 40-some lane house on Euclid Ave about a mile East. Wickliffe Lanes is BY FAR the BEST HOUSE in Lake County.

the lane condition is not that good. because the lack of oil does not help in showing your skills, it just lets you believe that you are any good. not….

The below comment about this being the largest bowling center. YOU HAVE GOT THE WRONG PLACE.
Wickliffe Lanes is 2 miles east and one of the cleanest centers in all of ohio.

Who rates the centers, the owners? This place’s food is terrible. And for the largest bowling center in the U.S. it could be better maintained. The inside appearance is poor.
